Our family visits are always pleasant at Coastal Smiles. The hygienists, office staff, and Dr Le are wonderful! I had a tooth emergency Monday and they got me in ASAP and preformed a root canal and I was pain free and in/out in under an hour. I love that Dr Le is honest and straightforward and never pushes a procedure on you. I have major dentist anxiety but feel extremely comfortable at Coastal Smiles. :) 100% recommend Coastal Smiles Dentistry.

We were very happily surprised with this dental office. I searched elsewhere for affordable safe options for wisdom teeth removal/extraction and had been so saddened at the cost involved when no dental insurance was present. Dr. Le offered a reasonable cash pay price and best of all, he was fast! My son was in and out in no time! He has very little pain nor any swelling! We highly recommend! Wish we found Coastal Smiles a long time ago!

I cannot brag enough on the dentist and staff! I pay out of pocket, so Im very picky who I want to give my hard earned money to. I absolutely love the dentist! Hes very personable and gives his honest opinions when planning future dental needs. Great work and always available if you should have an emergency.

I am greatly disappointed in Dr LeeHe gave me extra needle, and the roof of my mouth. Which I am experiencing lots of pain. The top of my mouth feels really raw. I have used peroxide as well as warm salt water. Dr Lee does not have good bedside manners. At all at least not towards me. I dont see using Dr Lee services any longer at this point. Im very disappointed Dr Lee. Ive been taking a lot of notice towards your attitude. You sure need some work on your character.

They do not inform you about your procedure until you are in the chair and have already paid money. I made an appointment to get my wisdom teeth removed. On the original day of making the appointment I didn’t ask many questions because I was at work and in a hurry to set the appointment. The next day I called back specifically asking - since I will be put under anesthesia is there a certain time I need to not eat before the appointment- (side note I have never had any kind of surgery before so I did not know anything about the process of anesthesia and that your not supposed to eat before it.) the women told me eat something very light so you won’t get nauseous but don’t eat a lot or it can counter act it and it not work properly. So when I walked in that morning I was under the impression that I was going to be put to sleep just like everyone else I know who got their wisdom teeth taken out and woke up all loopy for all those funny video. After I paid for the x-ray and visit (even though they hadn’t even taken me back prior to that) I was brought back for x-rays and to talk to the dentist, we discussed what was going on with my wisdom teeth and then he hits me with “I don’t put you to sleep I just numb you and pop them out”. I immediately denied them going further and told them they need to start informing people of this before they come. Not only did I loose a days worth of school(which has more affect to me than what most would think) but my fiancé had taken off the day of work so he could take me and care for me the rest of the day and I spent $177 for nothing because if they would of told me from the day I made the appointment they would not be putting me to sleep for the procedure I would of nicely declined and found another place to go. So if you need to get your wisdom teeth removed be okay and prepared for not being put to sleep because they won’t tell you when you make the appointment. I’m sure they are all wonderful people but to me it seems as if they don’t tell you so you will pay some kind of money up front just to get extra money from people.After my experience I was talking to a friend and she said the same thing happened to her except she had a impacted tooth that he broke up and pulled out and still left remains of the tooth in her mouth. Her healing process was excruciatingly painful and much longer than normal because of the way he aggressively “removed” the tooth. So I was extremely Grateful I did not continue with the procedure as I too had a impacted tooth and I more than likely would of had the same out come!

Best dental experience Ive ever had! I called and got a same day appointment for what I thought was a filling replacement. Instead, I needed a root canal. They turned on a dime and did the root canal on the spot. A bad situation for me that the doc and his wonderful dental tech took care of with professionalism and empathy. I would make this my dentistry if I wasnt on vacation at Carolina beach and was leaving the next day. These people are the best; Six stars!

I had x-rays and cleaning done at coastal smiles. The VA sent me to them, as they are in the VAs network. Everyone was very nice and professional. The hygienist, Heather, did a very thorough cleaning and explained everything she saw as going well with my dental hygiene and what could use some improvement. The dentist I saw, I didnt get his name, was very receptive to the specific dental issues I have going on and told me hed do all he could to relay all the necessary information to the VA so I could hopefully get the care I need....Id definitely go back to this practice for my general dental needs.Thanks Coastal Smiles!

The entire staff is friendly and every time we have been our boys have been seen promptly. The dentist has a great bedside manner and makes patients feel at ease. They are upfront about pricing for those that self pay which is very much appreciated. Highly recommend.

I Love this dentist office. Very straightforward with pricing and what needed to be done. Fast and proficient. Very professional. They have a relaxing atmosphere. And was very fast and affordable. I have bad teeth gene unfortunately, but they have made the process so much better. It has always been hard to find a dentist that works with me. I had one when I was 18 but Im guessing he quit, so I had to bounce around a few places, and they never seemed to treat me like a patient, but more of a cash flow. Here they have been patient, kind and professional the upfront staff to the actual dentist and dentist assistants, the whole time to the point I have continued coming back here, even though its about a 35 minute drive from my house. So I am telling you that if you are looking for a great dentist who treats you like a actual person and patient, go to Coastal family smile. Especially if you were in the same boat as me and cant find a decent dentist. You will find the best here.

I had a broken tooth from a bad fall, they got me right in, Dr Lee was fantastic, his staff explained everything to me, cost, procedure, ect. Highly recommended!

My experience here couldnt have been better. I recently relocated to the area and had no dental services set up yet. Unexpectedly, I was in need of emergency help and everyone was more than willing to go the extra mile, even though they certainly didnt have to. So friendly and welcoming. I had as fantastic an experience as a person can have when having major dental work done. Dr. Lee (sp?) his assistant (embarrassed that I didn’t get her name), Jillian, and Julia did a fantastic job making me comfortable, planning my financial needs, and the work was flawless. I give this dentistry a 3 only bc of how fast they were able to see me and the staff was very nice. The dentist however does not have good bedside manners. I went there for a tooth pulling and a wisdom tooth removal. After my appointment I was given only the knowledge to remove my gause after 30 minutes & salt water flushing. I was not informed about what I should be eating aftwer surgery and was not told about the no using a straw, no smoking, etc. (rule). If it wasnt for my mother; who is a nurse; to inform me not to do such things after my surgery, I could have possibly gotten dry socket. Also this dentist office is out of network with insurance.

Hubby had somewhat of a medical “almost-emergency” so I called this office and was able to get him an appointment this very afternoon. The staff here was very kind yet professional and went right to work to help him. They were very informative, caring, even gave my cold natured hubby a blanket, and took care of his problems. Best dental experience Ive had in years! This was my first appointment with Coastal Dental and everyone did such an amazing job all around. The Hygienist, Front office admin and Doctor were very upfront with my issues and quickly came up with a reasonable plan and budget for my dental needs. The office is super clean and its a bonus that they have tvs on the ceiling to watch while you get work done.

Coastal Smiles has been my dentist for several years now and I always find that the staff is professional and courteous. Dr. Le is willing to fully explain to his patients any work that needs be done, including any options available, as well as being up front about charges for same. All you need to do is ask.

I dislike Coastal Smiles with an absolute passion. Every time I go there in the last few years there has been a problem. They are in network when they do take the insurance but are actually not in network plans and it always cost more money out of pocket for what this place is worth. Some of the staff are nice and helpful, others are condescending and snooty. The last thing, for so many rooms they may have they only have 1 Dr. and really he doesnt much care for your needs or your concerns only your money. Absolutely never going here again.

Everyone was friendly, but I was just surprised I had to wait almost 20 minutes for someone to come and clean my teeth. Especially since I was one of the first appointments of the day. I wouldnt think they could be behind already.

Everyone was so pleasant and informative…I had to have a tooth removed…have been dealing with an abscess tooth…the dentist and staff were wonderful!

We just recently moved to town and Coastal Smiles was recommended to us and were so happy we took their advice. Everyone who works at the office was so professional and adhered very strictly to COVID related sanitary practices and made us feel safe and welcome. Dr. Le was very personable and explained everything about my teeth and X-rays when I asked. My dental hygienist took excellent care when cleaning my teeth, so much so I told her it felt like having a massage! Great work all around. I’d highly recommend this practice.

My dentist was closed on Friday, but Dr. Le was able to fit me in between appointments. He identified a cracked tooth that was causing me extreme pain within minutes, and extracted it on the spot providing me much needed relief. Im very grateful to him and his staff for providing me excellent emergency care.

From the time I walked into the office to walking out the door, everyone was so nice and smiling. Made me feel very comfortable. The dentist pulled out my bad wisdom tooth within 30 seconds! And 0 pain. If you are looking for a new dentist, Coastal Smiles comes very highly recommended by me!

I had a crown come off. When the dentist looked at it, he recommended a new crown because the old one had come off three other times. I got an appointment for the following week. I arrived at 11AM and was out by 12:15PM with a new crown - not a temp but a new crown. He used a 3-D imaging tool to create my crown on site and it was perfect, i.e. no additional grinding or fitting. This was the most successful and the easiest visit for a crown that I have ever had. I highly recommend Coastal Smiles! Easily a 10 out of 10.

Absolutely loved everyone in this office! My mom was a dental hygienist so I grew up in the dental office but Ive never felt so welcomed by all the staff like I did here. They saw me just as an emergency but definitely gained a life long patient!

Dr LE & his staff was so professional & personable & I had a true emergency. Another staff person at a different Dentist referred me to him. Two infected teeth that were extremely painful & he tried his best to help me. Dr LE doesn’t sugar coat anything which is really appreciated straightforward talk. He’s not UR typical arrogant Doctor. He’s the kind of person you’d brag about in a classy way. The kind of Doctor if you spotted at the Beach, you could talk about the weather & feel good you know him walking away. Instead of walking the other way. It’s too bad there aren’t more Doctors like him. They should try their best to emulate him at every turn.

Very professional, informative, and friendly. I went in expecting to have a cavity filled and ended up having an extraction. The tooth was a lot worse than I had thought. They explained all my options, and I am very happy with the results.

I chose to go to the Carolina Beach location and Dr. Le was so friendly, professional, and personable. I leave this office in a better mood than I came- every time! I look forward to my visits, and I highly recommend this office to my friends and family living in the Wilmington area.

This was my first visit, and it was quick (less than a five minute wait to be seen), the staff was really friendly, and everyone was super helpful. I was most impressed with the dentist. I read through the reviews first because I didnt want to believe that what happened to me could have possibly happened to others, but it did!! Almost exactly! I too had a few teeth extracted that were causing extreme pain. He numbed me up and went in with what felt like a pair of pliars and broke my tooth up and pulled it out. The issue is that he broke it off at the gum line and left the rest of the tooth in my gums!!!!! SERIOUSLY?!? Such a barbaric thing to do. Now, I am in pain once again for same tooth or half tooth, but Im at a different dentist, for sure. They took X-rays and showed me the half tooth that was left in my gums. Im just in shock that someone would do that and even more in shock that reading thru the reviews I find out this has happened to several others as well!!PLEASE DO NOT GO OR SEND ANYONE TO COASTAL SMILES FAMILY DENISTRY. He just wants you in & out and to collect your money!

Good dentistry found here. Had 4 wisdom teeth removed quickly, and while I didnt get any meds for the pain, its been decent so far. Im only 2 hours into recovery so maybe Ill change my tone tomorrow, we will see 🥲

Poor communication prior to my arrival for the appointment. I explained what I needed repaired and asked if I need anything or any information before my first appointment. I was told just bring my id and insurance info and that they could take care of my issue the day of the appointment. The day of my appointment, I was told by the dentist that without him knowing which company manufactured the supplies for the repair, that he would probably have to order the parts anyway and the repair couldnt be done the right way until then. I feel like there is a lack of communication in that office, especially for first time patients that ask questions prior to arrival. The dentist did apologize but I still had to pay the bill in full so at least he got what he needed. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and the wait was only a few minutes later than my appointment time.
