I cant speak highly enough about Dr. O and the O2 dental staff at the Porters Neck location. To be honest, Im just not sure I can say enough about them. I had been to a couple locations in the area, who I will refrain from naming, and it left a lot to be desired. Then I was referred to 02. They immediately stepped to the plate for me. They saw me in a desperate time of need. Dr. O performed a four hour root Canal in the very back of my mouth on Jan. 1 of this year. I could not even make contact other previous dentists on that day. Not only did they answer the call, but the man performed one hell of a procedure about as smooth and confidently as I have ever experienced dental work. Not only was that day a lifesaver, but the attention to detail led to us establishing a plan for further appointments to get me exactly where I need to be from a dental stand point. Today I finished the last of those appointments and I am still as pleased and amazed with the quality of the location as I was on Day 1. Im telling you people, go to this location. There staff is extremely pleasant. They communicate great, and they take GREAT care of their patients. I am extremely satisfied and after the trials I have been through with the Dental industry in this town, it wouldnt be right not to help point people in the right direction.

Excellent staff! I was hesitant going in because of the anxiety I always get when going to the dentist. Both the hygienist and dentist made me feel very comfortable. They both were very knowledgeable and educated on where to focus while brushing and techniques to use.

I was extremely happy with every part of this practice! From start to finish- Setting the new patient appointment was easy & at a time I didn’t have to miss work…I get to my appointment & the office is clean & tidy and I didn’t sit for longer than 5 minutes before I was taken back. The woman who took my X-rays was friendly & upbeat and explained everything she was doing which I completely appreciated.The hygienist was just as friendly & took the time to answer the questions I had.The dentist was extremely nice & caring and explained everything in terms that were easy to comprehend.Then at checkout & the talk about about finances- everything was completely straight forward & priced out.I felt I was in great hands.The hours were great! The staff was awesome.I felt the price was very reasonable.Totally recommend!!

Customer service was excellent! Even my 4 year old got right up on the chair and wasnt scared at all! The hygienists were awesome as well as the the Dentist. And a beautiful office! Smelled great in there too! Very very happy with our first experience. Will definitely continue going! Everyone was just wonderful!

Dr. RIGGS & Gabby were a great team. I was seen the same day probably because I called very early. I had a dental emergency. They solved my problem and I would recommend this dental office to anyone seeking professional and courteous care!

I am a believer. Dr. O reviewed my objectives and is going to give me a dental solution that is more than I could have dreamed of. Im amazed and relieved that I can have my smile restored at a price that I can afford.The office is extremely well organized and efficient. The staff is personable and, because they create the first impression, they give you a sense that this is going to be a successful dental experience. The appointment was easy to make and then there were followed-up-reminder texts, emails and calls. The waiting time was reasonable, even on a Saturday. There are Saturday hours. Now, thats amazing!Dr. O is calm, intelligent and has a great sense of humor. His knowledge of up-to-date dental options was impressive. I can compare his solution to other dentists since I have recently had consultations with other dentists in search of an answer that would work for me. Dr. O wins, no contest.Im excited about getting my work started. Dr. O is changing my life!

The staff was excellent and as a person who hates the dentist and gets very distressed - this experience was way better than expected. They kept me informed of each step and that was helpful!My only concern- my dental insurance pays for yearly cleaning and I paid for it last time and no one ever contacted me to say there was a credit and this time I was asked to pay again. The person doing billing was trying to be helpful but could not explain why I was paying again- except that they would refund if needed (but did not tell me there was a refund last year) and could not really explain my dental benefits of what would be paid for the work I need. So I will contact the insurance company and see if I can get more clarity

Had an awesome experience here. I had my wisdom tooth extracted and it was very comfortable and pain-free. The staff were great and it was affordable. Highly recommended!

I am beyond terrified of visiting any dentist. Dr I’d staff has made me feel comfortable in their office, has given me a plan to get me back on track with my dental care. Had a crown done today and didn’t feel any discomfort or pain. Thanks for helping me feel good about my smile again.

Awesome experience. Made you feel as comfortable as you can at a dentist. They are very high tech with all the up to date gadgets and completing a full 3-D scan of your teeth. Gave me phases to complete to get me back to where I need to with a very affordable payment plan. Overall very pleased! Also... they have TVs in the ceiling.. which is awesome. I was actually laughing while they worked on my mouth as I watched Wipeout... Dentist got a kick out of it.

Absolutely amazed!!! I had to have a tooth removed and was totally freaked out. But let me tell you from someone who has had a lot of dental work. This didn’t hurt at all, not even the numbing of the area, I didn’t feel the needle or medicine getting administered. I would scream the praises from the rooftops…. I have definitely found my new dentist. Looking for a great dentist then look no farther.

I had scheduled an appointment the day prior online for the excruciating pain my wisdom teeth are putting me in, but because the appointment was never confirmed after I did all that paperwork and signed, they basically gave my appointment to someone else. They tried to back up the time for it for earlier in the day, but I couldnt get anything. Comes to find out after receiving an automated text about lack of confirmation, they never even sent the email for me to confirm my appointment, so I lost the entire appointment for nothing and now have to go through the trouble of locating another dentist that I dont have to wait more than two weeks to see and doesnt conflict with my work schedule! Im not even a patient here, and because of how poorly they were to assist, I definitely will never be a patient here.

The receptionist was really friendly but the dentists weren’t very professional..the dentist I saw reviewed my dental X-ray for my post op wisdom teeth appointment and then he looked at one of the three teeth extraction sites where the teeth were pulled and told mri was good and asked me if I had any questions for him.🤦🏻‍♀️ He wasn’t going to even look at the other two extraction sites until I told him where to look..he asked which sides to look at too..appointment felt very rushed

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Dr. Griggs was extremely nice and answered all my questions. I was nervous about the dental work I had to get done but after talking with him I was very comfortable. I would highly recommend this dental group to anybody in the Wilmington and surrounding area.

Wont be returning, the employees were very nice but... I have never paid a co-pay with my dental insurance, yet this office charged one. Then when I questioned how many x-rays they took, I was assured it was all covered under my insurance plan, just got off the phone with my insurance company, nope I was not due to have any x-rays, so Im not getting my co-pay back and may have to pay for these extra x-rays

They were so friendly and very patient very gentle with you the service was awesome I highly recommend they are not expensive at all they are just really great too I love them .

I was very excited to have my dental services with this practice. Overall the providers are great. Unfortunately the communication between their call center and reception staff needs some coaching. I called at 3:48pm to notify the office that I was stuck in traffic and should I reschedule for my 4:00pm appointment. The call center stated that they would notify the manager and I had until 4:15 to get there. Got to the office, reception (the same one that has been rude at previous visits)stated that there was no note of me calling and the manager was not notified. Because I had to fill out paperwork it depended on what time I finished BEFORE the dental assistant would decide if she could see me. 4:30pm receptionist “Claire doesn’t have time to see you.” The entire time the manager is sitting there listening to the conversation. No one checked with the actual provider. I guess everyone but the providers and managers make the decision. It will be hard to find another great group of black/American American providers. But....when it comes to customer service... I must choose what is best for me and how I would expect my patients to be treated.

Had a good overall experience. The dental hygienist was very helpful and great at her job . She was very patient, ( I have not been to a dentist in quite awhile, a lot has changed) with me explaining procedures and answering all of my questions. The office was very clean and nice .

I would definitely recommend this place! They were very thorough and gave me an excuse to actually sit down and watch that new Netflix show that I never remember [since there are screens above you in the dental chair] for a brief moment, I forgot I was at the dentist... until I looked in the mirror and saw my numb face 🤣 FYI let me just tell you how difficult it is to wear lipstick with numb lips, cheeks, and jaws. On the brighter side, the dentist definitely made sure I felt no pain. I appreciate him being so attentive to my pain and Ill gladly take the numbness versus the alternative.

Highly suggest the O2 Dental Group of Wilmington!! I went once and immediately made them my permanent Dentist.My experience: I called them to see if they’d take me for an emergency check on short notice on the weekend. They took me the same day. I was experiencing so much pain and I didn’t know what was going on.The team of dentists and other specialists displayed a beautiful team effort to help me understand what was going on with the pain I was experiencing. They prescribed me with all the necessary medication I needed and my unbearable pain was gone within 3 days.But they all seemed highly educated and came up with a diagnosis to a quite difficult situation I was in.I specifically want to mention and give special thanks to Dr. Griggs, Dr. Hilton, and Dr. Olu Oyegunwa. They explained everything to me, we’re incredibly gentle, and I can’t thank them enough!I live an hour and a half away and I’m proud to say they will be my go-to dentist office for everything moving forward. I can’t say enough about these outstanding people. THANK YOU!

Really disappointed in them, Last visit I had my wife visit them for a cleaning, they decided to take some action on a cavity, then decided it needed a root canal started performing the work and stopped, then left my wifes tooth not finished since they ran out of time and now she is in severe pain..was told it would be almost a full month before they can get her in to fix. Had to goto another dentist in Ogden to just be seen for the pain and now going to an endodontist for the repair. Its a shame because this place use to treat us very well, seems ownership has changed and not for the better. Wish they would have finished what they started without leaving someone in worse shape then when they came and tell them theres nothing they can do for a month.

When I first came to this dentist they were friendly. I love the looks, the music. I was so excited to have found a new dentist… But they are messy! I had to keep calling them to find out when or if they even received my medical clearance from my doctors. (According to them I had to have one due to having sickle cell). They told me I needed a medical clearance in order for them to do anything concerning my teeth. Mind you they cleaned my teeth without a medical clearance. But when it was time for me to get my fillings done.. I got all the way there for them to tell me that they couldn’t do them without having the medical clearance… but I was told on the phone that they received it, by one of they’re workers and I was told it was the supervisor or manager I spoke with.. who also made my appointment for me to come. Till this day I have yet to hear back from them concerning the medical clearance. My doctors said that they sent it, but the dentist would say that they didn’t receive it… I pretty much got the run around for like 2-3 months. So yeah this dentist will not be seeing me anymore! I honestly do feel like I was treated different for no reason at all.

Laurel was awesome. Haven’t been to the dentist in many many many years. Felt at ease. Dr Jeremiah Hilton was also very awesome. Felt very at ease. Had two wisdom teeth out and a couple of small fillings. Very professional.

From finding O2 Dental Group of Wilmington on Google to making my appointment to check-in to having my Dental assistant Lauren to Dr Griggs my expectations were OVERWHELMINGLY met 🙃 Im so excited to have found O2 !!!!!!! Lauren is so great and knowledgeable and extremely polite and warm you just want to hug her like shes your bestie. Dr Griggs is Awesome hes an A1 Dr. I seriously didnt feel a thing. And now 7 hours later ZERO PAIN....... Can you Believe it NO Need for pain meds??? His first priority was to get me out of pain, he accessed the situation, located the problem, came up with a solution and fixed it. Dentist and hygienist were phenomenal! Loved everything about how they did my cleaning and kept communicating with me each step of what they are doing.. now.... receptionist on the other hand needs additional customer service training ASAP! The only reason I kept my appointment was because the owners who now work at a different location are amazing and from when they 1st opened in Wilmington I’ve enjoyed their service and how they treat their patients.

O2 was a great experience. I really cant stand going to the dentist but I felt comfortable and relaxed while I was here. Lindsey was an excellent dental hygienist and Dr. Hilton was thorough and down to earth. Both of their time and effort put into listening to my questions and proposing a plan meant a lot to me. Dr O in Feburary made accommodations for my dental anxiety and professionally extracted a molar that was damaged.Now that another molar is in need of treatment, I waited over 2 weeks for an exam and then told that I need to go find and get a primary care Dr (which I dont have) and tell them they have to call 02 dental in regards to my dental anxiety before they can do any treatment. Why was this not brought up over 2 weeks ago when I went in for my emergency dental exam? When I expressed the inconvenience in waiting over 2 weeks for an appt with a broken molar. When it was in my file that dr. O had to make accommodations for my dental anxiety? When I mentioned it several times both over the phone and at the emergency exam in July? So what did I wait over 2 weeks for? If I needed to go find a primary care doctor why was I not advised so I could be finding one during the extremely long 2 week wait with a broken molar??? An employee of mine was a dentist for a very long time and he said hes never heard of ANYTHING like this.Now Im even more at unease after reading some of these reviews. Dr o was great. The 2 stars are for him and the fact that the new doctor is extemely nice and the way he communicates in person is remarkable. But nice doesnt take away the fact that this has been a HUGE inconvenience considering my dental anxiety was known by this practice, and I brought this up both over the phone and at the appointment so that my file could be checked and this could be verified. I was still horribly failed at multiple avenues. instead of being made aware of the fact that *this time* I need to go find, pay, wait for and get into a primary care. I hate leaving negative reviews but this is all extremely distressing, and a huge change from my experience months ago.

I was treated very poorly by the front staff, her name is Dayrah. I did not have a mask, and I am fully vaccinated. I understand and respect that doctor offices are still requiring masks, but they told me I needed a mask and when I responded that I did not have one, she told me it would be a $1.00 for one. I felt that was extremely tacky, especially as a new patient. She was extremely rude about it and I will not be returning.

Okay well let’s start with the dentist... the one good and more important part of my visit. They are truly AMAZING!!! They get the work done correctly and in a timely manner. Exceptionally professional and very friendly. The receptionist on the other hand...that will make them loose a lot of business and money including mine. The lady who looked like she worked at the Willy wonka factory was the absolute worst... also claims to be the assistant manager. Who ever gave her that title must be an awful judge of character. I hope her work ethic is at least better than her attitude and professionalism. I never waste my time on leaving reviews, but hopefully someone will hold this women or child I should say accountable for her actions.

I had talked to Avery nice lady named dirah I believe and she was very helpful and gave me hope that I would be able to get surgery. But had a completely different experience leaving the office with a lady named yury when I tried to explain my situation she cut me off and was very rude even now when I called to tell them about the pain she was very disrespectful. Honestly disappointed had a different experience with the doctor him self..

I am NOT happy. My husband had a new patient appointment yesterday, and the advertised special included an exam, X-rays, and a cleaning. The office did not clean my husbands teeth, but instead offered him a credit on a root canal! So, in order to have his teeth cleaned, he needed to come back and spend hundreds of dollars on a different procedure. That is bait and switch. We will not be returning and will use a different dentist office that honors their specials.

They were very polite and super helpful. The only reason I give 4 stars is because I had to wait long periods of time, throughout my visit. At one point, the timed lights in the exam room went out on me while I was waiting.

Dr. Griggs is hands down the best dentist I have EVER been to. He is so nice and fun. Hes super gentle and made the entire experience as pleasant as possible. Klare was my hygienist and she was great as well! She made me feel very comfortable and was helpful with my kiddo that I had to bring along. Overall this practice is more than I could have ever hoped for in a new dentist. I already have the rest of my appointments booked with them :)

Everyone was so nice here! But the best part of my visit was Laurel. She was the sweetest and made my entire cleaning so comfortable. I enjoyed our conversation and she took such pride in making sure I was taken care of. She is the reason I’ll be back!

I was experiencing a dental emergency. I called everyone in Jacksonville and no one could get me in. So I called O2 Dental and was extremely lucky to get an appointment. Everyone from the front desk to the dental assistant and dentist were amazingly nice. Dr. Nick Griggs put me at ease immediately and took care of my emergency. I am terrified of needles and Dr. Griggs made the experience of getting numbed a breeze. I loved my experience so much that I plan on using O2 Dental as my normal office. They are worth driving the hour for.

I have sent my two daughters to this office and both left happy. I sent my 84 year old father who has dementia for the $99 cleaning special. Unfortunately due to gum work needed they were unable to do the cleaning. He still had to pay $99 and he basically got x-rays a new toothbrush with floss and told to come back for $2,000 worth of work. He will be heading back to his home state with his mouth just like it was before he came to visit me.

I had a great experience at 02 Dental! I was nervous and Dr. Griggs was so kind and made me feel at ease. The receptionist was very friendly and also extremely patient with me while she was explaining how my insurance worked. This far exceeded my experience at other dentists office in Wilmington and I am so glad I went!

Transferred from a different dentist and had an overall great experience. Dentist, techs and staff are very professional and attentive to the quality of care the patient receives. The atmosphere is enjoyable, comfortable and positive. I Would recommend this facility to anyone.

The service was great the person taking my sons x-rays, and the person that cleaned his teeth were amazing. I did not give 5 stars because I specifically made the appointment, and told the person that made the appointment that my son had a visible cavity that I needed taken care of. I also asked if they saw kids his age and was told yes. The dentist that saw my son told me he couldnt accommodate us and referred me to a different dentist office. His words were my son is 7, but on the site it says ages 3+ that they can do dental work. The office they referred me to doesnt have appointments for 6 months. Disappointed!

The customer service was the worst I’ve ever experienced. I had a crown done there in Feb 2016 and it cracked in half Nov 2020. I called the office to get information about what I needed to do in order to get it repaired. The lady on the phone let me know she was not able to see the details of my chart, but that her office manager would give me a call. Three days later and I have still not received any kind of call back. I did happen to get a same day appointment for a consultation with one of the dentist in the office. He was nice, but seemed extremely rushed and did not take the time to go over very many options with me or even apologize for the crown cracking so soon. I would hate to have to keep paying for a crown every4-5 years. Their in-house crown service must not be the right fit for me.The assistant office manager was nice upon check in, but check out was a complete 180- extremely rude. Maybe because it was the end of the day? Either way, unacceptable. As I waited to checkout, I was told to sit down in the waiting area. As I patiently waited, I was skipped and when it was finally my turn, she yelled “hello” and “ma’am” at me several times. Because of where I was sitting, I could not see her face, so I had no idea she was taking to me. I finally got up and walked over to her and let her know I wasn’t aware she was talking to me. I let her know that if she would have called me by my name, I would have known she was calling me up. Her response, “Sorry, I forgot your name.” Forgot my name? Not something a patient wants to hear, especially when you have their chart right in front of you. While going over my payment options she was very vague and again seemed rushed.I would have loved to have continued to work with Dr. O, but it seems the patient care is run differently now and it’s not up to par with other local dentist.

I had very bad experience. They did the filling of 4 tooth together before my move to different state when none of my tooth was hurting . One of the tooth filling was very deep and needed route canal but instead suggesting route canal later they did filling and in 2 weeks I had to go for route canal at new place and had to go through the pain twice. Will never recommend this place

I highly recommend this office! The staff and Doctors are reassuring and take time with their patients. There are quite a few dentists closer to me but I choose to go here because of the care they give. I didnt feel like an assembly line patient when I was there like some offices. Theyve got pretty good music too!

They all took the time to find out exactly what was causing my pain, they fixed the problem and laid out a plan to ensure i continue to have healthy teeth and gums. They were so good at explaining everything to me every step of the way.I was pleasantly pleased with all of the 02 staff, from the receptionist and everyone in between. Everyone at 02 is not only good at what they do,i feel like they all enjoy what they do!The only reason i gave 4 stars is because of the expense, however, i will continue to be a patient at 02 because of the fast, attentive, high quality of work i received. Dr. Lydia is an awesome Dr. . She makes you feel comfortable, and talks to you during the whole time encouraging you telling you your doing great. Our journey together has been a long one. Having to have all my teeth pulled on top , preparing for upper dentures, now just waiting on them to come back, having partialsOn the bottom have a few more teeth to be pulled.. She is leaving soon to open another office but will still come back to see her patients until we have finished our journey together.. She will be greatly missed!!!!!The staff that I have met are all great also,from the ones you dont see but speak with on the phone, the lady at the desk when you arrive she is also awesome!!! The staff is friendly and the doctors are personable. Both, Dr. Oyegunwa’s have made me feel welcomed each visit. I feel at ease every time I go for a cleaning. I truly appreciate the dental hygienist, Laurel for her dedication and great patient rapport !

I recently went to O2 dental for a really bad toothache. I have always been very anxious and fearful of going to the dentist and I will say this was probably the best experience I’ve ever had. My options were made clear with pricing for each route. With insurance it was affordable as well. I liked the atmosphere of the office. Being able to watch tv during the procedure and before helped to calm my nerves. I look forward to continuing my dental care here.

O2 is great! It was my first visit. Very clean, professional, and friendly staff. Price for cleaning, x-rays, and exam is the best Ive found in Wilmington.

The best dental visit ever! Dr. Griggs completely made me comfortable. The injection was painless and my tooth was extracted in a timely manner! They also have great hours that worked with my schedule.

Im not sure who put a bigger smile on whose face, but this was a great visit all the way around. The Dentists are wonderfully friendly and professional. My routine check up with bite x-rays was fast and painless. The bi-lingual staff make you feel so welcome and take the pain out of the whole administrative process. You wont be disappointed.

Dr. Griggs and all of the staff are amazing ! I have serious dentist anxiety and he made me feel so comfortable and the injection didn’t hurt at all! My mouth feels 10000% better and I am so happy. They will now be my regular dentist. Also shout out to Dayra who was so helpful when I had a scheduling conflict . You guys rock! :)

Fantastic work as well as customer service

Went in with extreme pain because because of a tooth that needed to go. I managed to break a filling and not notice until it was too late. Very honest and helpful staff. Now I absolutely hate the dentist, and usually cant make it through the door without some xanax to calm me down. I will happily go back for the rest of the time they are open, dr. O did an amazing job helping me and stopping the pain I was in. 10/10 will recommend to anyone, especially if you have had a rough experience in the past. Can not rate high enough!!

I am terrified like everyone else our smiles.look like 🎃 because we fear the dentist 🦷 its sad but today because of Dr. O and his staff I finally am lon the road at the young age of 67 to a beautiful smile 😁 didnt feel . the numbing process do please give them call you want regret it CB

Was my first time here and they were very friendly and inviting.

Nice place, staff was friendly . Nice atmosphere. Got me in quickly. I had emergency situation and was upset that they could not treat the problem same day for lack of time even though I had 12pm appointment. As a self pay patient I was shocked at the pricing. Nearly 3x the price of competitors. They advertise as a affordable and I was quoted $3300 for a rootcanal. I dont consider that affordable.

Doctor nick did an outstanding job at making me feel comfortable and not judges at all. By far the best dentist I have ever seen. Wouldn’t choose any other dentist! Very clean office and fast service! Thank you O2 Dental! See you soon!

I want to give an explanation as to why my review went from 5 stars to one star. Ive received exceptional service when I had a dental emergency and the dentist she was truly amazing and a gift from God. However my treatment plan went downhill after that. I felt as though the patient support as some of the other reviews posted is lacking. They need to hire more compassionate people in their office. I had to be referred to a specialist for my treatments however they didnt help me with anyone that was in network with my insurance I was pretty much left dry. I had to search around and end up just going to releigh nc for my dental treatment. Ive contacted them regarding my concerns i just wish the transition process was alot more professional. Also the male dentist there wasnt friendly at all and made me feel uncomfortable about my teeth. Never will be coming back again. I feel great where I am and knowing the place Im at in Releigh is non judgemental. I hope the service here in the future gets better.

From the moment I walked in the office, I was greeted very nicely and professionally. The providers, husband and wife were very knowledgeable and their skills and bedside manners were perfect. I will recommend their office to my family and friends. I really had a great and pleasant experience. Thank you
