Everyone was amazing. Anytime I had a question or needed suggestions, it was so easy to find someone. They also would ask itger employees their opinions as well. I also got my hair done by Elizabeth. She was so kind and listened to what I wanted and offered wonderful suggestions to make my hair cut exactly what I wanted. Ive never had such a great expierence at any store Ive visited. Thanks ladies for everything!

Estelle did such an amazing job! I have never had a stylist give me such great advice about how to wash/care for my hair texture before (wavy/curly). I was doing it all wrong! She did great layers and recommended a product I love (but didnt push it). She is great!

Yea its nice HOWEVER I think this stuff is INSANELY overpriced and really teaching our young girls the wrong message, MONEY does not buy beauty. Your telling me it costs $100 for some eye shadow, really how much does that cost to make probably 10$. Staff was nice tho and the store itself is nice and clean

Brandy (I believe was her name) was wonderfu! She approached my friend and I asking if we needed help and gave us some great tips and suggestions on lip products. I sadly live a tad to far away to make the trip to this location regularly. But let it be know that if I was closer it would be my go to Ulta just because everyone was so friendly and helpful!

Over time, Ulta has found its way on the top of my list of places I prefer to avoid. While the staff for the high end products are always helpful and polite, the other staff are anything but. This review isnt based on one encounter but several over the course of a year. The management is rude and customer service is not at the top of the priority list based on my experiences. An exchange of a high end product for a new one that was wasnt flawed resulted in managements response of were not going to lose money. I didnt ask for a refund, only an exchange of my powder compact product that was more than half full. Even a quick phone call to the store more recently during the curbside pickup operating hours reminded me of why I opt to take my business elsewhere. This was indeed the final straw for me. The lady on the phone was curt and far from helpful as she was in a hurry to get off the phone. She was much like the management I have had the displeasure of dealing with in the past. Ulta, you CAN and you SHOULD do better. Take a page out of Chick Fila or Trader Joes playbook. Until then, you have one less customer.

Leah does amazing eyebrows!

A particular hair dresser has been allowed to keep her job, with no apology, after verbally attacking my elderly mom while washing her hair. My mom has been a devoted customer for almost a decade. My mom was embarrassed beyond measure and was kicked out of the salon by the hairdresser. No manager apologized, nor did the hairdresser. We all have our bad days, but this was way out of line. The hairdresser seems to have power over management and it’s disturbing. Why any business is allowed to operate this way, in this day and age, is beyond my understanding. Corporate was no more help than management. This must be the “Ulta way.” (As they put it) I just hate what this did to my sweet mom.

Always super helpful with finding just what I need. All the ladies are wonderful! 😁

I love all the freelance ladies that work for the high-end cosmetic and skincare lines. If you have questions about products, they have the product knowledge to direct you. Just realize if you need help with drug store brands, you have to find someone with an Ulta name tag.

I had an a very minor issue at check out and they called over their Manager Mallory. Mallory went above and beyond and made sure I felt comfortable and happy with the resolution. Will be back again!

I stopped in and had no complaints until I had a rude cashier who not only didnt say anything to me during the whole checking out process..she ended up handing me off the store copy receipt that you are suppose to sign when exchangimg something. Basic retail customer service is EASY and it doesnt take much effort to make a customer feel welcomed in your store.

Something needs to be said here. We have all struggled through 2020, some more than others. While a store that sells beauty products might not seem all that crucial, I, as a female beg to differ. Try going to a job interview without make-up, before a civil court judge, or really anywhere out in public. Ive been sent home from a job and told to put my face on and then I can come back and clock in. Ive been asked if Im okay when Ive gone out all natural.I went in last week, on one of the most important days of our lives this year. My makeup collection was inaccessible after a rather traumatic event. To even be taken seriously, to hide the bags under my eyes, the redness from crying at the loss of my father, my career, my livelihood and almost my home- I needed help, and fast (also affordable).Sure the employees are always glad to help, and at any retail job many are encouraged to upsell. In our economy currently, enough upselling can make or break a shop.However it was obvious at the sight of me that I needed help on all fronts.Not only did the young lady help me criss cross the store to find clearance and affordable staples, she showed compassion.She didnt turn her nose up at my budget, she made it work. I meandered for a minute to breathe and browse, then went to the checkout.Her help and empathy alone is worthy of an updated review, but it doesnt end there.In my emotional state, I put no thought into how I was going to apply the necessary war paint we females both enjoy and at times are required by society as a whole.I got in my truck, pulled out my receipt to store away and found a small note and gift.And hope.Thanks ladies and gentlemen of Ulta, Wilmington.I won our case, our safety and my dignity back.Most importantly, I found hope and faith in humanity.Thanks again, truly.

Save yourself a trip and dont bother going to the ulta beauty bar/salon!! Rude unprofessional hair dresser, not to mention alwayssss running late. They will kick you out of their salon chair if you disagree with them. And dont bother talking to the manager shes unless, so is their customer service/guest services.

This Ulta has the worst customer service it’s the holiday season so I understand the excessive amount of employees asking me constantly if I need help but when I actually needed assistance all the employees sitting around and talking all ignored me, weren’t nice at all and we’re extremely pushy. I don’t recommend coming here it’s unacceptable.

I would like to start off by saying I used to love this ulta. It used to be super clean and the staff was so kind but now I do not know what happened. Everyone always seems in a bad mood and no one specifically knows about makeup. Whenever I need help there is no one to help me. I asked a cashier one time at the register if she could help me with Chanel and she said she was so sorry she would be over there usually but they stuck her up at the register. What a shame! Then try and sell me on a credit card after I said no 3 times. When someone says no you should respect their decision not keep pressuring. That is not the only time I came into ulta and felt bullied into getting a credit card which I’ll never get. This review is based off my last visit into ulta a couple days ago. I walked to go to the bathroom and when I went in I saw what seemed like an employee coughing and smoking something, like an e-cigarette. She quickly put it away and walked out of the bathroom. Its just so sad that you’re employees are in the bathroom smoking or or god knows what. Shame on you ulta. This is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. I will never come back.

Always friendly & always have the products I need.

My curbside order was wrong and when I called the store to correct the issue, the lady who answered the phone was condescending and basically accused me of lying. She told me they have a protocol and if it’s not in my car, she didn’t know what to tell me. She also told me they check the bag prior to putting it in the car and this particular bag was still sealed. It’s a small issue but the customer service was seriously lacking and a fairly regular customer will now be going elsewhere.

The Ulta at Mayfaire Shopping Center is on my must do list every time I come to Wilmington. The rewards program alone makes it worth my time to be an Ulta customer both at home and away. They always have a good deal just waiting to be snagged!

I’m not one to usually write a bad review, but I was so disappointed by my experience today. I will start off by saying I realize that Covid-19 has placed a lot of stress on businesses and employees. I placed an order this morning and set it up to get a text when the order was ready. I was in the area, so I wanted to call to clarify I would get a text when ready. The lady was snippy cutting me off and said they had over a hundred orders and they will get to it later today. An hour later, I called and asked if I could have an update because it was the deciding factor if I picked it up today or tomorrow. The lady told me there were 17 orders in front of me and it should take another hour at minimum. 2 hours later and I still heard nothing. I checked my email and noticed I had gotten an email at 10:45 that said my order was ready. I will admit I’m at fault for not checking my email, but I was a little frustrated because I had been reassured I would get a text, and I never did. It turns out my order had been ready the whole time. My biggest frustration was how rude the people on the phone had been. When I got there to pick up the order, the call kept ending and wouldn’t go through. Eventually someone came to the door and brought me my order. 2 of my items were out of stock. There was no mention of this. I would have appreciated if someone could have called me and allowed me to pick a replacement product. I’ve seen so many businesses have such efficient curbside pickup. This ulta, unfortunately, was not one of them.

I love the variety and products but the staff has never been inviting at all any time I am in here shopping. They avoid you instead of asking if you need help or are looking for anything. As for the salon /spa/ nails department, they are great on that side, very friendly, never had an issue!

I give this place 5 stars because they keep a great stock of haircare and skin care products. If you can find someone they are happy to help. Not sure how knowledgeable they are, they seem to know what theyre saying, just not sure if theyre suggestions are true. I look on YouTube for most of my haircare questions.

I had booked two appointments online, one for my hair and one for my makeup. When I arrived I was informed that my appointment had unfortunately not gone through the system. I had an event to get to and instead of turning me away the staff worked me into their busy schedule. Beth is a Clinique sales rep (and is awesome). She originally said she could do my makeup, but store policy here says that it has to be done at the beauty bar. After she got the manager involved another employee, Rachel jumped in to help. They allowed Beth to do my makeup while Rachel did my hair and 1. I made it to the event on time and 2. It was beautiful. Thanks to the management team too. Y’all were awesome and I really appreciated it.

Julee balayaged and cut my hair and it looks incredible! She was also a great conversationalist and very honest with me about what works and what doesn’t. I loved her attitude and she answered all of my random questions about hair and coloring. I have super curly hair and she knew exactly what she was doing. Highly recommend!!

Amazing staff

I just tried ordering a pick up order from the Ulta in Mayfaire and didn’t realize I had to wait an hour and was already out front. I called them and the girl that answered the phone was very rude and said they haven’t gotten an order, I have to wait an hour and said that she didn’t know why I was already outside and then presumed to say they didn’t get my order yet. When they finally came out with it five minutes later because I only had one item ordered they said nothing but “roll down your back window or open your trunk” threw it in the car and walked away. I have always enjoyed the employees at this Ulta until today, I will not go back. I am shocked at the rude service I have gotten during this odd time(quarantine).

Always a nice experience at Ulta!

This Ulta Beauty location offers a nice selection of beauty products and the staff are helpful and friendly. My daughter likes to shop there and always hopes to get a free sample with her purchase, as she has at most other Ulta Beauty locations. This location rarely offers the freebies. This is a little disappointing, considering the amount of business they do and the cost of their products.

I had a positive experience with not one, but every single employee that I came across in different areas of the store. Everyone was helpful and educated on the products. It was so nice to hear from people that actually used the products. Overall, it says a lot about the management and the company as a whole.

I LOVE THIS STORE! The hair salon is tops in expertise and customer service - and Ive tried many. Danee (new manager) and her crew are outstanding professionals. They excel in haircuts and color techniques - Ive tried it all. Im comfortable coming to them with beauty questions and concerns. As a result, Ive added brow waxing (best in the world!) while Im in the store. My next adventure is to add a facial to my routine. I make the trip a me day and give myself a total pampering. I drive from Mount Pleasant, SC (3.5 hours each way) and return home feeling totally in love with myself. The store personnel are super friendly and customer-focused. This store is the BEST!

The hair salon inside is great. Gina does an awesome job. Only bad thing is the price is a little too high but its worth it.

Makeup is expensive and I found that it didnt really work any better than my cover girl or Revlon. I will say they do have a lot of great products and great return policy

Had my eyebrows done by Nadia M. She was friendly and knowledgeable. She showed me what she was going to do before hand and how they should look. She then showed me how to use a brow pencil. I will for sure be back.

Every time I need to pick up something from here I always leave saying I should just order online next time. The staff is not helpful at all. Today my bad experience was over the phone which is even more sad. I tried calling not once but TWICE to ask if they had a specific product in stock. The gentlemen who answered the phone both times left me on hold for 10 min or more.

I am a regular customer at Ulta and normally have a good experience, but yesterday I had a WOW experience. I had my hair and brows done and had buy a bunch of stuff as I had run out. When I got home and actually looked at my email I saw I had a 20% off coupon. I am not normally one to be hung up about such things, but given what I spent it was $45.00. I called the store and the Manager, Liz, who had actually helped me check out assisted me. She was great and made it easy. Super service! It may have cost you $45 in yesterdays sales, but made me a great fan!

As far as Ultas go.. its okay. The staff doesnt assist you or know the product well which is definitely something I look for because I dont have the time to research products all day. Its in a great location though.

I got sunburnt on my face so bad the day before my engagement pictures I considered cancelling. So I went to Ulta the day of to try and find something to cover it up. I am so glad I did. Many many thanks to Beth helping me. She is an absolute miracle worker. She went above and beyond to make my face look and feel better. Beth is amazing!!

They never seem to have main items in stock. Service/ help can be more according to which rep you get vs what you really need for your (personal) use.

I have gave up going salon at this location due switching stylist when showing up for appointment!! I would show up for appointment with one stylist and they would overbook and have someone I didn’t approve do it. I sadly will be going elsewhere for now one get daughter and my hair done.

Totally disappointed in the treatment I received by a master stylist at my last (yes, my last visit there will be my last)The master stylist was argumentative, disrespectful of my time and of my person, did not hold herself or her staff accountable for mistakes and tried to blame me, repeatedly. All I did was show up at scheduled time to have my hair done and feel good and relax. Instead I waited and waited, unbeknownst to me my stylist had called in sick. No problem had it been handled appropriately. I was told numerous times I was called, numerous times I said no I wasn’t. I double checked my call log, no one called me. Staff repeatedly said she called you, I know she did, she’s real good, she called you.They looked on there computer and realized they didn’t, but never apologized for how they treated me. The next day I found out they called the wrong Laura.Master stylist said she would do my hair, but I had to wait. No problem, finish who you have, I’m already 30minutes behind but it’s Friday and I have a date. Well, then she tells me, my rates are higher, excuse me? It’s not my fault you didn’t call me. She wanted to charge me 300 dollars, what!!!!! And still kept me waiting another 30 minutesI asked for another manager never got one, only the master stylist belittling me and arguing with meWorst ever hair appointment in my long every 5 week appointment life

This ulta always has the newest makeup but that staff appears friendly at first but when it comes to the money they would rather make it then help you save it like it’s coming out of their paycheck. The store in Fayetteville on the other hand always looks out for me however possible. Wilmington really needs to change that because I wouldn’t ever go there if it wasn’t for the actual makeup they carry. I have left there upset to many times. And I am not hard to please. Says a lot.

They never have anything!Sometimes 6 associates will bombard you asking if you need help on the weekends... maybe if you guys actually had stuff in stock you could help me find something.... I absolutely love this store but I hate some of the employees!! I mean come on ladies why do we always have to whisper about other women and make fun of other women. That’s one thing I’m proud about myself I say I don’t do even the most unattractive women I find something to complement them about . Every time I come in here there is an ugly nasty attitude. Or a smirk and a snicker. Grow up ! You are grown women acting like high school kids. I spend a decent amount of money in here and I always come in with my family. I love the amount of product selection they have and oh don’t I love the point system!! Would give 5 stars ecept for the nasty snobby employees here 😉

Ive walked into this place multiple times as a loner guy shopping for something nice for his lady, an easy target. Every time, I am disgusted by the lack of customer service offered to me. I have walked past multiple employees, and none of which acknowledges my presence or asks if I need help. Staff are also rude and generally unpleasant to even ask for help. Got a 2nd star only because of the selection... which is also lacking. This location is missing products rated 4.8 stars on Google that I was looking to buy without hesitation. Cant wait for a competitor that will drive them out of business.
