I heard such good things about this place but when I got there, they really hid the truth about Covid-19 We had several people leave because they tested positive, several staff were out because they had Covid. All the while there were NO sanitizing wipes stations, no flu or Covid vaccines, Not even Covid Rapid tests. CDC needs to intervene ASAPThey try to keep you there longer than you should be and they lie about everything they even got caught serving us Chef Boyrdee I will tell you if people are on here saying how great they are they probably were at the facility for a short time trust me if you have the opportunity to go to a nicer place GO..

This place kicked my son out for medical at 3 a.m. because he refused to take medications after being there for 12 days. The entire time there he has blood pressure /heart rate extremely high. He felt he was having allergic reaction to one of the medications since he was having rash, itching and redness of skin. The day shift nurse told him that day to not take the medication that night so she can verify that it was a allergic reaction the next day... He never got to stay til the next day, he was only doing what the day shift nurse told him to do. They didnt take his concerns serious. Just want to keep giving the medication followed by Benadryl shots for the reaction. He was already detoxed but giving him phenobarbetol to prevent seizures. The charge nurse Beth that called at 3 a.m who also called my son Psycho, stated he would be taken to area hospital with his belongings. No they dumped him off in the parking lot. Never called e.r. to let them know he was on the way and history of what problems were. So he sat in parking lot of hospital for over 2 hours for us to get to him since we live in another state. They do not keep family informed of the patient even though they are on full medical release info. Patients get one 10 minute phone call a day at counselor approval with them listening to the call. They do not offer family visits even though website states they do. They have not allowed visits since covid stopped that over a year ago. Those that have close family support with their loved ones.... Dont send them here. When I call to get updates all I get is he is clinical fine They also dont offer dual diagnoses help. There is no psychologist to help determine if a mental health issue is the problem. The charge nurse stated... since he is refusing to take medication there is nothing more we can do for him. So the goal is to keep them medicated the entire 28 days and release them addicted to the drugs they put them on there? He didnt want kicked out of program he just wanted help determining which medication he was allergic to so they wiped their hands clean of him. He told me they are very highly understaffed and took 2 hours to find a nurse to help him. There is not a doctor that comes around to see patients. You talk to one on the phone and thats how they treat the patient. ×× he was taken to an area hospital near home and was found to be having allergic reaction to the drug they were giving him××

The staff also helped prepare me for what comes after treatment…the real world. I am proud to say I have been clean and sober for 2 years next week! I am present in my families life, I’m a good employee, and have true friends today!! Thanks WTC for a jumpstart back to a life worth living!!

This was my 3rd time for detox. The patients and most staff are great, however the medical staff will put you on meds you dont need to keep you there for the insurance money. I did start withdrawal from alcohol before they gave me anything. Im just glad I didnt have a seizure like so many patients did my 1st night. We call it seizure alley. I think right now they are just totally understaffed and desperate for insurance money. I left AMA because I was detoxed completely from alcohol, but they put me on a 14 day phenobarbital taper for klonopin which I hardly ever even take. I actually peed clean on benzos. But again...its a decent place to detox, but dont be surprised if they pop you with another substance to taper you off of for the insurance money. At the end of the day...its just a business. 😕🤷‍♀️

Very simply, WTC saved my life. I was so lost and so broken and ready for a change in my life and from day 1, minute 1 and all the way through my stay I felt loved, valued and safe. Was it an easy place to be? No. No one cares for rules and structure after living an unmanageable life. However, I really believe that you get out of WTC what you put into it. I was there for a reason and WTC gave me the foundation and education I needed to start out in recovery.I will always be grateful to ALL of the staff for doing what they do and for changing and saving lives one at a time.

AMAZING!!!! This facility saved my life, plain and simple. I was at the end of my rope, and WTC gave me the tools I needed to live sober. Like any treatment facility, you will get out of it what you are willing to put in, and I suspect some of the negative reviews here reflect that concept. The counselors were great, always willing to listen. Classes and groups each day taught me so much about myself, and left me feeling good about myself again. The food was great, and the rooms were comfortable. Im not sure I could have gotten any better treatment at one of the overpriced private places. Im so grateful. Thank you.

I have read many reviews before I decided to reach out. I agree that considering the case loads all of my counselors were great. But elderly patients were left to the mercy of other patients to help them. Also there was often problems with getting the right medications for many of us. My complaint today is that I caught COVID while there. None of the staff wear masks and after trying to contact them several times about health issues arising from this no one has been able to help me. The person I spoke with was rude. They have no problem taking my money but offered no help after I left

I would highly recommend this program to anyone struggling with addiction. They offer very effective coping skills and education about the disease. The staff are one hundred percent genuine and care a great deal about the patients. The facility is phenomenal and everyone from the therapists, medical staff and techs show care through getting to know those in treatment and providing guidance. It really is a safe, non-judgemental environment to work through issues and to reclaim your life. Just like anything else though, you have to become open to receive what is being taught and put forth the effort to get the most out of it. Wilmington Treatment Center played a HUGE part in saving my life.

It is with great dismay I write this review. There was so much hope for my son here. But he was kicked out because he was vaping. He was driven to a safe place, a McDonalds restaurant. He was on the street having to ask people to borrow their phones because he wasnt given back his charger from WTC and consequently couldnt charge his phone. He was also put out on the street without his medically assisted therapy, so went in to withdrawal. It was a horrible situation.

I write as a family member who was lied to, yes, straight up lied to by employees who do not know what their jobs are and use HIPPA to hide their ignorance. My family member was only there for 5 days and I was lied to 8 times over the most simple topics. Why??? When employees are not trained properly then management needs to go! What a disgrace! It takes away from the good work that might be going on inside the walls. I tried to bring forth my complaints and was shut down. Good luck to anyone that steps foot in those walls.

This establishment caused one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. PLEASE DO NOT SPEAK TO NICOLE. My boyfriend and I drove 5 hours to have him not be admitted into treatment. Nicole did not run the insurance and called us multiple times in the week telling us the insurance covered the treatment and there were open beds. After going through the entire intake process they then tell us he cannot be admitted. She did not run his insurance at all. After much emotional distress and false information she then proceeded to hang up on me multiple times when I called asking for a supervisor. We drove 15 hours total that day and spent over $500 in expenses. This facility is extremely unprofessional and I would not recommend at any cost. If Nicole were my employee I would fire her on the spot for hanging up on people who are seeking help. The only person who was any type of genuine was the counselor named Clay.

As of right now this facility has a one in my book .. solely based off of communication alone . My wife is currently a patient there and I have only been able to talk to her twice upon her arriving . I understand that detoxing is a vital part of the recovery process so while undergoing the treatment they would like the patient to be focused and not triggered by anything ... however this facilities communication is horrible and down right piss poor ... once a patient is admitted and a counselor is assigned , the counselor needs to be in direct contact with the family just to at least give updates on how the individual is doing . I understand they may have a heavy caseload but this the job you signed upfor .. it doesn’t hurt to make a phone call so that we know the well-being of the person in your care .. I will update this review once I speak to my wife .. but as of right now I am completely taken a back and disgusted with the lack of communication from this facility .Update : First off the good reviews about this facility are FAKE .. I just got a call from my wife who finished detox and was moved over to a halfway house and she said it looks like a run down crack shack she is totally uncomfortable she said it’s nothing like the pictures on the website I am so ready to take the hour drive to get my baby! She also said that she was kept in detox longer because her insurance was paying ! I am disgusted YET AGAIN WITH THIS FACILITY, if my wife doesn’t call me back with good news about this place over the next few weeks I am calling the BBB and whoever else to get this place shut down ! Horrible money hungry facilityThis place is a money MACHINE !! SteerCLEAR AND BEWARE !! THIS FACILITY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE PATIENT .ALL THEY WANT IS MONEY THE COUNSELORS SUCK ! I am reviewing this treatment center based on being a significant other of someone who attended treatment there. The first experience entailed many phone calls from the patient the week ahead of time and confirmation of the scheduled intake date. The treatment center is 2 1/2 hours away from the patients residence and also entails a family member taking off of work to drive the person to treatment. Upon arrival, my significant other was told that they were not even in the system to be seen or admitted that day. It took many days of anguish and extra stress to even build up to go to treatment, away from family and friends for 28 days, and THEN to be told you arent being admitted on the assigned, insurance-approved date?! Disorganized at best. Continue reading. After some back-and-forth, my significant other, it turns out, was admitted on the scheduled date. There seems to be confusion on when to put patients into detox and unwarranted/medically unnecessary prescribing of drugs, including drugs that patients need to taper off of instead of being prescribed haphazardly.During my SOs stay, a phone message from Jan 14, 2020 never made it to them. I still dont know if all of the letters were received or not.The treatment center had a flu outbreak, and my partner got ill about 16 days in and tested positive for the flu. They were sent home and got a prescription for tamiflu pending further instructions to return to treatment. After getting approval and setting up the appointment to go back into treatment, with confirmation of the dates, taking leave from work, another person taking off of work to drive them to the center again, arranging for pet care, my partner was AGAIN told that they couldnt finish out treatment/Wilmington couldnt accept them. This treatment center has no regard for peoples time, convenience, costs for traveling, and the emotional hardships being put on people to plan for another inpatient stay, only to be told that they are not being accepted. This time the drive and planning was all for nothing. This isnt scheduling an amusement-park day with friends; this could be life or death for some people, and for WTC to just turn people away is absurd. The place says it has a nutritionist on staff, but dont expect to meet your nutritional needs with their meals. I guess thats why they give out vitamins in the morning.

This was my 1st time ever in treatment. Im sure there are places that are much worse. The food was pretty good most days n alot of classes to help u understand ur addiction n its causes. However they lied to me about things. Such as providing transportation home. Since I only did 7 day detox n not 15 days that my insurance was willing to pay for, I was basically left on my own to get home which was almost 2 hours away. I didnt like that at all. Also took it upon themselves to call MY family members telling them to convince me to stay. Very sneaky n unprofessional. But I met alot of good ppl there ( other patients) if I had to go to detox I would go back but only because the other places my insurance pays for is even worse. The staff are nice n caring but the counselors are judgemental n make u feel that ur doomed if u dont do what they say ( stay longer) im doing well but I hope n pray never have to go back. Its great for alcoholics but they didnt address my pain n depression issues which they lied about n said they would. Counselor Nash was awesome

There is simply not enough staff for the volume of patients. Thank goodness I had previous treatment experience, because you are basically treated like cattle and allowed to just roam about aimlessly. There is no individual attention at all and you have to go out of your way to get anything out of anyone.

WTC is definitely what I recommend for the recovering addict, I left with tools that help me cope on a daily basis, I made a lot of friends with the patients and staff and I actually loved the food

Id give 5 stars if the rehab building was not the condition that it is in. There is roaches all over the floor in the kitchen at food times. Food is transported. Floor is tore up. That is literally my only complaint.

When i checked in to WTC 20 months ago, i was very scared. The staff there were very attentive to what i was trying to accomplish. I would recommend anyone looking to become sober and live a clean life, consider WTC for your success.

WTC has support for you through their finance and insurance department, throughout every step of treatment and beyond healing with a strong support group composed of Alumni to help keep you on your path. If you are thinking about treatment then you already know your answer, start today, don’t lose another moment. Your community supports your decision and I am proud of you for making even that first step.

I took away some positive things from my time at WTC. I never would have thought the classes would have helped me but they did. The time spent in small group and being able to talk about how I struggle to stay sober made me realize Im not the only one who feels the way that I do. I really enjoyed some of the group meetings that I attended and my favorite activities were art therapy and journaling! The negatives when I was there were that the food was pretty terrible and the med line situation was awful. Very disorganized with the medical situation it seemed. Overall I learned more than I expected!

Wilmington Treatment changed my life. Ive been a patient twice and each time the staff, doctors and nurses were there to make my treatment and recovery the best possible. The facility itself is incredicable and made me feel comfortable. This past time which will be my last time, the staff went out of their way to make me more comfortable and open to new things and ideas. The Alumni is AWSOME. I never felt judged by anyone and always had a ear to listen or shoulder to cry on. The experience is defiantly what you make it, we all go there for a reason, and if you take the AWSOME program they offer seriously, there will be a success story at the end. It doesnt matter how many times it takes, what matters is your recovery and what you gain out of treatment and the experience Wilmington Treatment Center offers. WTC is a great facility that will educate you on the tools needed to have a successful recovery. Im one of MANY that can voche that this Treatment center saved my life!!!

I have a lot of respect for the staff at WTC. Its tough to minister to such a diverse array of addicts. I am alcoholic and had never been exposed to persons with drug addictions. It was an eye opener for me. The counsellors were amazing. I believe that is due in part to their own recovery journeys. I met so many patients who were struggling as I was with alcoholism. It was comforting to fellowship with them, especially at the end of the day when we were back at the house. The curriculum was well crafted to meet the needs of each demographic. One of the highlights of my day was the bible study group. It was the perfect way to begin the day by centering myself spiritually. I am grateful that WTC was there when I most needed this level of support in my recovery. Thank you and God Bless.

WTC saved my life. I agree, the food isnt great, neither was my nightly turn down service, and room service was not up to par, oh wait, wait, I wasnt there for gourmet food, fluffy pillows or a vacation. I was there because I was dying. Literally dying from my addiction. I wasnt happy every moment I was there but I came out of there with my LIFE! I learned about all aspects of my disease. I learned how to reach out for help and where to go for help. The staff is an amazing group of people who truly care about their patients. Im so thankful for my life today and I wouldnt have the life I have today if I hadnt gone to Wilmington Treatment Center.

At first I was skeptical but I was going for recovery, not for vacation. I found that once I opened my mind and my ears I learned a lot and the staff was great. This place gave me exactly what I needed, not What I wanted and for that I will be eternally grateful.

This was the most horrible experience of my life. I literally got no help at all getting off of meds and the day after I left I relapsed and decided it was time to go to a REAL recovery center. The staff was horrible with only a couple of exceptions. The doctor has too many patients to handle and cannot address the needs of all the clients. They separate you in genders when one of the most important things in recovery is connection with other people, now im not saying hooking up, just communication. While I was there, people were actually offering me drugs on site. If you want to make your loved ones condition worse this is the place to spend your 30,000$ on miserable food, segregation, and terrible living conditions. The staff members even know how horrible it is, although they will deny it, there are very few who stick around very long. There is no 1 on 1 therapy sessions and if you do need to speak to a therapist they are set up in 15 minute blocks. Worst place ever to send a loved one or self refer. I self referred myself here simply because I did not want to die. Well after completing this program I would say if I didnt accept the fact that I needed to go somewhere else I most certainly would be dead, or on the streets about to die. DO NOT GO. Youre better off staying at home then trying to get any kind of treatment here.
