I had amazing experience from the beginning to the end. No complications and pain was almost relieved in two weeks. I feel like a new woman with the new total hip. Dr. Ashby and all his nurses were absolutely wonderful. They had amazing bedside manner and truly for compassionate and caring. I recently had a total hip replacement done with the anterior approach by Dr. Sam Ashby, and what a great experience! Dr. Ashby and his team explained everything I needed to know before and after surgery. He even let me choose the type of approach he would use. His office staff is personable and fun to talk with, and they gave me examples of other peoples experiences to answer my questions. After surgery, 2 days of recovery in the surgery center, some PT and now six weeks later, I am able to do everything without hip pain. I recommend Dr. Ashby for your orthopedic needs!

I had a total knee Replacement done Nov.2020 and the care and expertise Dr. Ashby has is outstanding!!He is a down to earth kinda of Dr.,takes his time to listen and answer his patients questions and concerns,makes you feel comfortable during this long process and wants all his patients to have a better quality in life. Dr Ashby is very kind, caring and compassionate! He performed left knee replacement surgery on me. His surgical and overall skills are outstanding! Before and after surgery everything was explained very well. His great staff was always happy to assist with any questions that I had. At my final appointment with Dr. Ashby I was able to tell him that I dont even think about my knee anymore! No pain, the swelling is gone, no loss of range of motion or activities since my surgery. My name is Fred Art Bolton and I have had a total knee replacement by Dr Samuel Ashby and had great results. Even thou I am diabetic and have numerous infections in my other leg he did the best job on my knee that had bad arthritis and dearly need replaced. He did a excellent job and a job no other doctor would tackle. I thank him from the bottom of my heart for a great job done. I had surgery last October of this year and walk and feel like a young man at 65 yrs old.

My total knee replacement performed by Dr. Samuel Ashby was a positive experience with a successful outcome.Dr. Ashbys staff was pleasant and helpful. They were attentive to the pre-op details including submitting all the required paperwork for my insurance and employer. After three years of right hip arthritis I finely decided to have it taken care of. I already tried the normal of routines of Physical Therapy, gentle stretching, and drugs, all to no benefit. I also researched Stem Cell injections in hopes to find a non-surgical solution, but I found that there were no clinical studies to authenticate Stem Cell relief claims, none.I was referred to Dr. Samuel Ashby D.O., Orthopedic Surgery of Ascension Medical Group, by my family physician. With X-Rays and CAT Scans I visited with Dr. Ashby twice before we scheduled surgery. On each visit I felt very comfortable visiting with him. Dr. Ashby listened to my history and my hopes for recovery and told me what I could expect from an Anterior Hip Replacement.Shortly after surgery I was walking, with a walker, but with no pain. In ten days, I was off the walker and using a cane. Ten days later I did not need the cane. Yes, the muscles were tight in the quads, however they improved daily and I am back to most all activities I once enjoyed in just six weeks.Maybe I am a unique 70th year old male, but Dr. Ashby sure resolved my hip problem quickly and mostly pain free. I believe the worst part was my own mental concerns, which Dr. Ashby And the Kansas Surgery and Recovery Center staff answered thoroughly.If you need hip replacement, I highly recommend Dr. Ashby and his staff and the Kansas Surgery and Recovery Center.

Love Love Love the experience of a knee replacement by Dr Ashby! He takes the time to visit with you and answer all questions you might have. His staff is wonderful as well. You are encouraged to call with any questions and everyone was so helpful. Dr Ashby goes over your options and does not push you toward surgery. You discuss the options with him and decide what you feel will be best for you. He followed up with my family after surgery and came by my recovery room both mornings to check on my condition. My therapists highly recommend Dr Ashby as well. My recovery has been fantastic and the incision is hardly noticeable.If you are having knee issues ir looking for the right doctor to do your knee replacement Dr Ashby is the one to see! He will do my other knee when the time comes. I know that I can continue to call his staff for help or questions. This truly has been a wonderful experience. I was fortunate to not have to wait months but was scheduled within weeks. We are so lucky Dr Ashby chose to join us in Wichita, KS.

Went to see Dr. Ashby 12 weeks ago with a tremendous amount of hip pain. Had been in pain for about 5 months. Had a full hip replacement 6 weeks ago and am almost 100%.Can’t say enough good things about the Dr. and his nurses. Amazing people. Thank you for giving me my life back.

I have had a very great experience here. Dr Ashby is professional but caring. He listens to the patient and respects their opinion and ideas. The total knee replacement I had had been the best thing I ever did for my personal benefit and health. No pain, awesome follow up and I’m doing the other leg coming up! The nurse is the sweetest and most concerned also. She always follows through with discussion topics and makes the experience easier overall.These are my thoughts but I believe the scheduling clerk at Via Christi and at the hospitals would echo my sentiments. When I recall that six weeks ago I was suffering considerable pain in my right knee—a problem which had been ongoing and building up for nearly four years—I am excited to write a letter about the person who brought an end to my suffering. I appreciated his expertise, encouragement and kindness from the beginning, facts that were evident despite the medical mask that separated us. The combination of a quick assessment of my problem and the efficiency of his staff ushered me into a smooth experience for which I am thankful every day now. I believe Dr. Ashbys personal philosophy of exactness has been proven not only in the installment of my new knee, but the careful handling of medications that bore in mind my personal comfort and safety post surgery, as well as his overall meticulous post surgery plan. This plan was implemented in regular checkups, medication that was carefully managed, and physical therapy which involved me meaningfully in the healing process. On top of his pleasant bedside manner and personal efficiency, his staff was friendly and always available. I am still amazed I was driving in three weeks and that for the first time in years, my right leg is straight!!!

Dr. Ashby and his nursing staff did an amazing job with my hip replacement surgery!!! My recovery time was very minimal compared to the other hip replacement! I was walking without assistance in 8 days!!! The scar is very minimal, he even avoided cutting into my tattoo!!! Thank you Dr. Ashby, his nurses and all of the staff!!
