We have lost confidence in this facility since the takeover by Midwest Health. Care for my mother in this facility has grossly deteriorated. Staff hours being cut has resulted in a level of care not worthy of the almost $5000 a month charged. Access to the facility has become a challenge on nights and weekends when family members are required to be present to ensure proper care.

Excellent facility. Great ratio of nursing to residents. Quick response times to call lights. Best care available in town Approachable and caring administration. Relax calm environment. Been in this field for over 20 years and it’s the best facility by far. More potential residents and families should be aware of this fabulous place. You will love it

I cannot speak highly enough of this community. They treat my grandfather like royalty. I can sleep easy at night knowing he is being properly taken care of. He is always telling me how much he loves it there!

My mother is in the Memory Care wing at Chaucer. We had tried a nursing center closer to where most of her grown children live, and it didnt work out. Chaucer is a dream come true for us! Everyone has been very kind and helpful. All of our concerns and questions are addressed, administration is wonderful, and the staff in the memory care wing are sweet and kind. They go the extra mile. The food is very good, too, and our mom loves it. My husband and I often pop in at different times during the day (because we are retired) and have never once seen or heard anyone mistreating a patient. Most important of all is that our precious mother is happy and well cared for.

Be warned! My mom moved to Chaucer Estates memory care in June 2018. It is now 5 months since she moved and they are booting her out. They gave a 30-day eviction notice today, less than a week before Thanksgiving. They are fed up with her falling and dont want to deal with her anymore. She is already on hospice care. We thought this would be her last move ever, but apparently she hasnt suffered enough. My dad is living in the assisted living unit and was able to visit daily, but now the 2 of them will be permanently separated. Dont trust the contracts you sign with them. They have no compassion.

Thank you for the wonderful tour and opportunity to spend time with the wonderfulManagers of Chaucer Estates. The atmosphere is very welcoming. The apartments are spacious and the food delicious.

Short staff in all areas (we were told that positions were being cut) and a constant turnover. It could take up to 30 minutes for a call button to be answered. We should have hired someone for med management so we knew it would have been done right. The food is the same over and over and not that good. Nothing to do but listen to staff complain. We had to stay on top of the bill because it was usually wrong, was told it was corporate. What a relief to move, out family is doing great in their new place!

Trash pipes in the building is no good. Workers working in wet nasty smelly halls from the pipes busting. For weeks nothin was done. Management is messy they tell your business and talk about the co workers. Lots of drama bullying and favoritism. Has lots of agency high turn over rate. Cant keep help. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Staff money comes up stolen residents money comes up stolen and nothing gets done about it.

Chaucer is a wonderful assisted living community. They have beautiful and clean facilities and responsive staff.

Very poor quality of nursing care. The corporation will remove this posting and very few people we will know the illegal practices of the facility or what actually happens there.People are lied about and there is a system of bullying.

My grandma lives here and seems to be doing fine!
