Officer Jordan is very professional, kind, caring and knowledgeable. Prior to my daughters arrival here and I called to ask a question she was just very calming and was able to answer the questions that I had. You can hear the gentleness in her voice when you call to ask a question. She is great!Miss Charisse Hatcher the patient advocate for my daughter upon my first visit she was very empathetic and she made me feel comfortable she greeted us very welcomingly and let us know who she was and how she was there to help serve us I really appreciated it especially when you come somewhere that youve never been before continue to keep both of them as members of your of your organization!!

This facility needs to be shut down, the ICU nurses or doctors doesnt have a clue about the patients in their care. Every time I ask a simple question about my mom, I got no answer. The nurses are extremely rude, lacking compassion and lazy. Theyd rather give your love ones heavy pain meds to keep them sleepy all day instead of doing what they get paid to do. My mother was restrained to a bed by both arms, in which the family was not aware or did not agree to this type of treatment - she is not an animal. Physical Therapy is a joke! I saw them one time my moms entire stay for three minutes. If you want your family member to recover, this is not the place. I had no faith that my mom would make it out of this place alive.

Excellent facility with caring nursing staff, physicians and administrative staff. Great team of physicians, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists, nurses, social workers and case managers. I would especially like to recognize Dr. Kingslow (pulmonologist) who worked intensively and tirelessly to wean my loved one off of the ventilator. Also Erica Hamilton (case manager) who provided me with ongoing case management, emotional support and coordination of services throughout a very difficult period. Ms. Hamilton was responsive and caring while coordinating case services for my family member.

Some areas of BridgePoint have been updated and the facility is still undergoing renovations however the people make the difference here. While my brother was there, we had great experiences at every level of support from the Client Liaison who helped with the transition from the hospital to the Patient Advocate Sheresse Hatcher who remembered our names and helped us with a special circumstance for friends who came to visit. There were so many caring members of the team who were friendly and committed to his care including a few special to us… Dr. Singh, Nurse Mint and Red (hair), Physical Therapist Zee, Speech Therapist Allison, Technicians Sharonda and Bernice, and Case Managers Erica and Lonnie. Family and friends often said those are some pretty friendly folks there. My brother came to BridgePoint on a breathing machine and within the first 24 hours, he was weaned off, monitored and encouraged to keep improving at every level. They truly helped him get on the road to rehabilitation. Once he was eating solid food again, he honestly liked the meals and thought they were “rather tasty” to the point he didn’t even touch the outside food we brought. My brother was so pleased with his experience, he wanted to thank everyone and has tasked me with sharing his appreciation with his entire care team.

My review is for Ms Sheresse Hatcher Bridgepoint Hospital Patient Advocate. From day one I knew by her patience, smile and compassion she displayed, she would be there for you. I am glad she proved me right. She was able to put me at ease for my mom stay in the hospital by answering all my questions. If she didnt have the answers she would point you to the right person. Since COVID-19 the hospital visiting was limited and we had to rely on Zoom calls. Although these virtuals visits were different and limited to the hospital she made every effort to make it comfortable for the family. I cannot put into words how helpful she has been to me and my family. She has lifted a great load off the shoulders of the family. Ms Sheresse is a great assets to the hospital. I was a little skeptical at first when my husband was placed at Bridgepoint Capitol Hill. Its an older facility in the heart of DC. But my concerns were quickly eased by the very friendly staff and medical team. He received kind care by the nurses and doctors, and both Sheresse Hatcher, the Patient Care Advocate, and Erika Hamilton, our Case Manager, were wonderful. They made it easy for our family to take care of dad and visit him with words of encouragement.

I feel like now my partner Mr. Fee has gotten his graduation yesterday, what I mean is he has gotten better during he stay. The Nurses are angles they have invisible wings, they treat us like family. If I could give the staff 10 stars I would. We actually came from Alexandria Hospital Ken was in ICU for 13 days; he underwent emergency surgery to remove his large intestines. The surgeon was so down to earth he treated us like we were family. The surgeon shared if he had not did the surgery Ken would not have made it. Fast forward they wanted him to come to BridgePoint Capital Hill, he said they had wonderful doctors and an excellent Physical Therapy team. Ken served our Country for 45 years he is a wonderful Christian gentleman whom I love very much I havent left he side. Prayers are always appreciated, and I feel the staff are doing just that. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My father is currently being treated there and their cuartoEr service is the worst. I have nurses not giving me an update on my father until 4pm in the afternoon and on top of that giving me wrong information. When phone calls are answered the people answering the phone are laughing and yelling across the room to get answers of what I’m asking them. Very unprofessional hospital. I also asked my father how he’s being treated and he said not too well. He is very discontent at this place and is looking worst then when he first arrived. I’m currently looking into getting him transferred somewhere else. Please DO NOT take your loved ones to this hospital. I’ve complained with the patient advocate but nothing gets done about it. My loved one was at BridgePoint for two months. He was first admitted to the ICU and then admitted to the skilled nursing department. Our first interaction was with Dr. Singal. She was absolutely amazing. She was kind and caring and she took the time to answer all of our questions. Our most frequent interaction was with Dr. McLean. She was also great. She was the first doctor to let me join virtually while she performed her examination. She listened to what we told her and did not disregard us as simply being hopeful family members. The nurses were sweet and very supportive. Our patient advocate was Sheresse and there arent enough words to describe just how amazing she is! She is so kind and caring, and great at her job! On days that Sheresse was off, Erica filled in and ensured we were able to Facetime my loved one. Erica is also sweet and kind. Once my loved one was transferred to the skilled nursing department, we interacted with Dr. Frizner. Dr. Frizner is a great doctor! He is super responsive, supportive, and knowledgeable. All in all, we are very satisfied with BridgePoint! We are thankful to the staff and doctors for all they did for my loved one.

I went on the recommendation of Southern Maryland Hospital and the fact that a friend of mines mother made it out alive. The hospital has the appearance of nice, but its run down with an old, non-working, creepy parking lot and the front entrance is tacky. Some of the nurses are lazy and the front reception staff is generally unprofessional. We strongly, without a doubt believe our mothers death was as a result of gross medical negligence and lack of compassion and attentiveness.

We want to express our gratitude to the ICU staff at BridgePoint hospital. Our mother was admitted on May 28, 2020 after a prolonged ICU hospitalization due to COVID 19 and respiratory complications. Upon admission, our mother had lost her strength, was being fed through a feeding tube and was trached ventilator-dependent. Over the course of her stay, she was able to achieve a high level of independence. Within 2 weeks, she was able to breath on her own and the trach and the feeding tube was able to be removed. My mom had a great team of physicians, respiratory therapists, speech therapists, nurses, and case managers. They really helped our mother with her overall recovery and we are grateful .I want recognize a number of staff members. Erica Hamilton, case manager, communicated very well with the family. She kept us informed of our mothers treatment plan and helped us tremendously with her discharge planning. After our mother was discharged home, Erica made a follow up phone call to make certain that everything was fine and that we didnt have any questions regarding discharge. The ICU staff was good in general, but we would like to recognize Marie Allen, Mr. Green, and Ms Helen. Our mother felt that they were very pleasant, professional and caring. They had exemplary bedside manners. The family was kept updated regarding our mothers plan of care. We felt at ease when these nurses were on duty.Lastly, we would like to recognize Sheresse Hatcher (Patient advocate). During a pandemic, when patients are feeling scared and alone because they are separated from their loved ones, empathy is whats needed. Sheresse visited our mother every day and made certain that she face-timed her family and addressed her needs. Our mother was discharged home on 6/18/2020. Poor work ethics skills, My grandmother was there and she told me the nurses grab on her roughly, pulled her scarf of her head along with a chunk of her hair. When I use to come and visit her the nurses were rude and when you speak up and tell them how you feel they back down because they dont wanna lose their job. PLEASE SEND YOUR LOVES ONES TO A BETTER CARE FACILITY. THIS IS NOT IT. SOME OF THE NURSES ARE NOT COMPASSIONATE ABOUT CARING FOR THE PATIENTS. PRISON FOR ELDERS WITH ILLNESSES. For starters its an old ass building. DC got enough money to renovate that building. They didnt even try to rehabilitate my grandmother. Just kept her alive just enough to get a paycheck. The more serious illness the patients have or if they cant walk it makes it more work for the nurses to do their job because it requires more work they want to work less. All patients need secure help, compassion and gentleness. These nurses only provide gentleness to the patients that can do rehabilitation faster and back to recovery. While they give no hope to the more serious illnesses. My grandmother have night mares and flashbacks of being at BRIGEPOINT HOSPITAL A.K.A. PRISON FOR ELDERS.

I would rate my brother’s care as “very good” to “outstanding” on all measures that have mattered most to his family: (1) PRIVACY: He has his own room, decorated to his liking, which is rare in area nursing facilities; (2) RESPONSIVENESS: The professional medical staff (administrators, attending physicians, nurses, and LPNs) have proven to be caring, attentive, and responsive when contacted about patient issues or complaints; (3) QUALITY DAILY NURSING CARE: the stability, compassion, teamwork, and loyalty of the front line patient care team, i.e., the Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and even the unit secretaries, make them an invaluable source of guidance on how to help with a patients needs, moods, and complaints; (4) MAINTENANCE: It has been remarkable not to be assailed at length by unpleasant odors on my brother’s unit. Between the CNAs, Housekeepers, and Maintenance employees, patients and rooms are generally attended to promptly when needs arise. This makes for a pleasant environment for patients and visitors alike. Investments are also being made in upgrading the physical plant; (5) RECREATION: While not all patients are mobile, or able to participate, suitable offerings are made available, and continue to be increased in number and quality, by the activities staff; (6) SPIRITUALITY: Despite its understandable bias toward Christianity, the Pastoral Office and social worker, have worked with me to provide access to spiritual counseling for my brother, who is a Muslim ; (7) DIET: I have rarely met anyone who was completely satisfied with institutional food. My brother has complained so vociferously that I have sampled his food, consulted the dietitians, and found them surprisingy willing and able to explore his preferences and make adjustments. I am satisfied that his current menu is appropriate to his dietary needs and medical requirements. (8) SECURITY: 24-7 coverage by very nice people, who are effective at processing visitors and handling emergencies. My advice to those who feel dissatisfied, or who are considering an initial placement, is as follows. The work of those who care for our loved ones is often difficult, demanding, heartrending, and occasionally dangerous. These employees deserve our respect for their knowledge, and appreciation for what they do daily - especially if they have a different ethnic origin, language, or culture than those reared all of their lives in the U.S.A. Many are trained to make a living at what most of us cannot do ourselves; namely, nurse our loved ones back to health, or care for them at home, during the end stages of their lives.Consider the possibility that friendship, compassion, understanding and a spirit of cooperation, rather than unkindness and abuse when one has concerns, can get problems resolved with goodwill, rather than bitterness. When it comes to hospitals and skilled nursing facilities, the quality and services will vary. When it comes to my brother’s SNF, however, had I let “perfection be the enemy of the good,” I would have missed all the good to be found at BridgePoint Sub-acute and Rehabilitation Hospitals.

This place is awful. Please please please whatever you do, do your own research when selecting a place like this for your loved ones. The nurses are very lazy and put very ill patients in rooms way down the hall and around the corner to die. My mother was first in ICU and without improvement they moved her to the end of the hall close to the door. While in ICU there were FLIES or some other bugs flying around the rooms where the patients with trachs were. I informed them of the issues and because of that she was moved to the end of the hall. The doctor was stalking and harassing me to pull the plug on my 55yr young mother smh. When moved to the 6th floor she developed pinkeye and had to be transferred to Washington Hospital Center. They thought she wasn’t coming back alive so they started moving her things out the room. To make a long story short someone there pulled the plug on my mother and she passed away. To add insult to injury on my mother’s death certificate the cause of death is listed as respiratory distress and BED SORES. They don’t take care of those patients at all and I’m quite sure there were several pending lawsuits against them hence the name change. IF YOU WANT YOUR LOVED ONES TO LIVE, DO NOT LEAVE THEM IN THE CARE OF THIS NASTY PLACE.

I have called and informed them several times over the last year that these seemingly important medical calls are being displaced in my voicemail box. I imagine my work number is probably similar to someone in the field they are looking to contact... but I would be disappointed if I knew one of my loved ones was under the care of a facility who didn’t care to make an effort to inform their staff that they needed to use an area code every time they attempted to phone this particular person/medical facility they are trying to reach. The ICU had leaking ceilings and equipment racks from the 70s. The staff would frequently ignore calls. ALL NIGHT, and could never reach a nurse or doctor by phone.Floor 2 was ok. Staff was better and more attentive.Floor 6 was described as recovery. It is referred to by the staff working that floor as a nursing home. The staff were foreign and did not speak english. They were unattentive and unprofessional. Openly fought with each other in front of me. They were laid back and never worked unless you kept on top of them. They had the mentality that their patients would live there and not go home. The walls had holes and the light fixture had a broken off light bult left in it, I asked about it. Apparently, it doesnt work anymore, so they just left it? Also, had to bring your own TV. That was a pleasant surprise.Fortunately, I had my relative transferred out of this hell pit. I was told Pt does not work on the weekend. Funny how you took them in then though. There was no attention paid to him personally. He repeatedly called me up to tell me he was having a hard time breathing and no one would listen to him. I kept calling for days to talk to somebody about my brother. It took until me calling many times and leaving messages till the case manager finally called me. That was followed by finally the doctor and a pulmonologist came in after the sixth day. Do not go here your loved one will not be looked at as a person just as another part of the machinery there

THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST PLACE EVERRR...WITHIN LESS THAN 18 HRS OF BEING AT THIS PLACE...MY BF WHO IS VERY SICK N NEEDED ANTIBIOTIC INFUSIONS AT A SPECIFIC TIME/SEVERAL TIMES A DAY WAS NEGLECTED BY THE STAFF HERE N THEY MISS 2 DOSES OF HIS MEDS N WAS WORKING ON THE 3RD WHEN HE HAD TO CALL 911 TO GET MEDICALLY TRANSPORTED TO ANOTHER HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENTS. HE WAS IN FEAR OF LITERALLY DYING AT THIS FACILITY. I WOULD STRONGLY ADVISE NO ONE TO EVER CHOOSE THIS PLACE...PEOPLE OUGHT TO BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES FOR EVER STICKING ANY HUMAN BEING INTO THIS PLACE.. IT IS SO DIRTY N NASTY N TRUTHFULLY NEEDS TO BE CONDEMNED.

This place is a death trap! Never, ever place your loved ones lives and care in the hands of these soulless, uncompassionate, unfeeling monsters. My friend is dead do to the incompetence of Dr. Akpan, the 4th floor charge nurse Kathy and her staff. My friend was abused and neglected. He was left to lay in urine and feces hours on end. He was sometimes not given any of his medications, sometimes given some but not all of his medications, and even offered other patients medications. He fell out of the bed 3 times because on the rare occasion that the staff would empty his urinal, it wasnt often, they wouldnt put it within reach, so consequently he fell out of the bed. When he would press the buzzer for help someone would come in the room and turn off the light and no one would help him. On one of those occasions he had to call me, I had to call and then no one at the desk answered. Finally the guard who answered the phone downstairs went to the 4th floor and got someone to help him off of the floor. That was after 30 minutes. Dr. Akpan only visited my friend 4 times in 5 weeks. She would not return my calls. He developed pneumonia 3 times under their care. His lungs were so badly damaged that he had to be put in hospice where he died. He was there for physical and occupational therapy. Andre and Victor and the other physical and occupational therapists were awesome but they were outside contractors not employees of Bridgepoint. If you love your family members dont ever even consider leaving them with this group of incompetant hacks. This place is a death trap!

A year ago this month my beautiful mother passed away in this horrible place. It doesnt even deserve 1-star..it deserves NO STARS!!!! If it had not been for certain people or staff I met while at my mothers bed side for 2-months there I probably would have lost my mind. The security staff were great and made my mornings a little brighter some days. The ONLY nice place to actually sit is the newly renovated lobby area or down the street at the cafe. So, now to the nurses, doctors and staff that I would encounter at Bridge Point. Out of probably 10+ nurses on the ICU-2nd floor, on any given day, I can count only four nurses- FOUR NURSES- that treated family and friends with kindness and WHO KNEW HOW TO DO THEIR JOB AS A NURSE. One RN, Yes...a RN, had to look up on her cellphone and google what she was administering to my mother via IV when I questioned her one day about what she was giving to her...WTH!!!!! Some of the nurses would not even part their lips to say hello or good morning unless you spoke first. The ICU floors are always low in staff. The Head Nurses are a complete joke, However, the Director of nurses that I met was very helpful, knowledgable, and showed concern. Out of the five or so ICU Doctors I would meet, only 2 had the decency to come to my mothers room on a daily basis when they were on duty and talk to me and inform me on her progress, other than those 2 doctors, I would have to leave the room to go find a doctor on duty and ask questions. Only 2 nurse Techs( both who worked during the morning shift) ,out of many nurse techs, they were the only 2 who actually knew more than some of the RNs did, and the two of them did their best to make my mother feel comfortable everyday. The night shift nurse techs were questionable; some did well overnight but others were impatient and rude and lazy. This place is horrible. As you enter through the double doors into the ICU on the 2nd floor, the smells of bodily fluids, of all kinds, and monitor noises, and patients yelling for assistance, or even family members yelling at nurses will make you feel like turning around and leaving if it were not for your loved one being there...absolutely depressing and stressful. So, before Providence Hospital or any hospital tells you that they need to move your loved one to a long-term care facility and they are talking of Bridge Point on Capital Hill....tell them Hell No!!!!. Have the administrator or Head Doctors send your loved one else where. Do your own homework on long-term care hospital facilities in the DC area. Bridge Point is definitely a death-trap for the sick, injured and especially critically ill; it is long-term bc those patients will NEVER leave from there alive or will be in the nursing home facility upstairs forever. Do not send your loved one to this hospital. I wish I would have known how awful this place was before my mother was taken there. My mother was alert, watching tv and even doing her twice a week bed exercises or physical therapy sessions when she came to Bridge Point Hospital. Once there, she went downhill within a month. DC Government or whomever needs to shut this hospital down not just change a name; it is dirty, filthy, old, understaffed, and has the POOREST employment recruitment of qualified RN nurses I have EVER seen. Just because it changed its name from Capital Hill Hospital to Bridge Point means nothing!!!!!! This hospital...nursing home....whatever it is...it is UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!

My elderly Mother fell and had a very serious brain injury in August 2015. She spent about a month at BridgePoint - my family and I were very impressed with the care she received at BridgePoint. The nurses, technicians and doctors were steller and always made time to talk with my Dad, brother and I - to fill us in on her condition and progress. Everyone at this hospital was friendly, professional and very helpful. We are very thankful for the care and attention she received from BridgePoint!

We were recommended Bridge Point Hospital, an LTACH facility, by Medstar Washington Hospital Center after a long stay in the hospital and my father needed long term acute care. We werent familiar with ltachs, long term acute care hospitals for patients that need specialized attention such as cardiac and respiratory care. Our family visited all the ltach facilities in the Northern Virginia, Maryland and D.C. area and eventually chose Bridge Point. At the time of admittance the hospital was still considered Hadley Specialty Hospital, but has since become Bridge Point Hospital. The current owner and CEO, Mr. Chavez, guided our family through the facility, specifically ordered a large private room, a reclining bed for overnight guests, and addressed all of our concerns regarding my fathers language barrier and insurance issues. My fathers physicians, Dr. Davachi, Dr. Craig, and Dr. Martin are not only highly skilled, but caring individuals who are truly concerned for the well being of my father. They were always available to answer questions and address our concerns. The nurses and nurse aides are also very competent, attentive, and familiar with caring for patients with respiratory needs. The social workers and nurse managers also encouraged us to attend the weekly and quarterly care planning sessions. This was very important for us to understand the care and future planning we needed to consider for our father. The hospital also has a great crew who are helping to rehabilitate my father and get him back home. The respiratory therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists are highly qualified, and have been helping my father make progress. The security staffed are very pleasant, and available 24/7. The hospital also takes great care to make sure the facilities are clean and organized. My father also wanted to thank the wonderful cleaning crew, who were always friendly, and willing to help.My father eventually moved from the ltach, on the 3rd floor to the 2nd floor skilled nursing/nursing facility. Here, he will continue rehab until he is stable enough to go home. Fortunately, the move upstairs was smooth, and we did not have any issues.Overall, our family is very pleased that we chose this facility for my father. There is a physician available around the clock, respiratory therapists are always available, they offer private rooms, allow overnight guests, their staff is friendly and caring, and they have a wonderful security staff who are working around the clock, and even free parking.
