THE FOOD at their restaurant IS AMAZING AND HIGH VIBRATION !!! The staff are kind and loving. Eat there here whether or not you consider yourself “spiritual” / have interest in the Association for Research and Enlightenment of which the restaurant is a part. I got to have an amazing day enjoying the gift shop, library where I donated my book #Cosmic, rooftop meditation room and now I’m eating and writing! I’ll work off the food in their labyrinth and bamboo/ outdoor meditation garden. Come here for spiritual healing ☺️

We liked coming back to Edgar Cayce’s A.R.E. this morning and visiting the bookstore there. Although the meditation room upstairs still was closed as of today, it was good to see others in the bookstore supporting the good work that Edgar Cayce helped to start many decades ago. There are several books that I liked, and one of them I bought with a discount because of my membership. It’s wonderful to support the good work that this organization does!

Shortly after getting out of the US Navy Submarine Service, I applied for work at the ARE in Virginia Beach. After six years in a high pressure, high stress military environment, I was still young, single, and ready for a change. Having studied the Edgar Cayce material ever since right after High School, and looking for a wholesome path to transition back to civilian life, I inquired at the ARE to see what openings they might have. Over the phone with the Director of Personnel, I explained my circumstances, background, and aspirations to him and we scheduled an interview. He asked me to bring my resume. This I was happy to do.Arriving for an interview with their Personnel Director in my best suit, I presented my resume as hed requested. He read it briefly. Asking a few questions about my background and interests, this pot bellied little guy in his cut offs, sandals, and a J C Penny sport shirt then sat back in an executive chair that seemed too big for him. Looking over his granny glasses, the strange little man asked, What do you want me to do with you? When an Honorably Discharged vet starts looking for a new career, the last thing he needs while hustling to get his feet back under him a load of pretentious, passive aggressive attitude from some unshaven, under-dressed beach bum. This Director of Personnel gave the impression that scheduling interviews and asking for a resumes was most of what he knew how to do for his check!Sitting north of the Pungo Swamps. Virginia Beach was once a small sleepy fishing village before it got into the seasonal tourist business. Im from further north where Personnel Director is a specialized position in a well-organized business. Up here, a Personnel Director knows what positions he needs filled as well as the qualifications that job applicants must meet to qualify for those positions. Determining which applicants are a good fit is the whole job... Thats why its called PERSONNEL.Edgar Cayce himself once criticized the Association for Research and Enlightenment, saying that while they did a lot of Associating, they did little Research and even less Enlightenment. After sitting face to face across from an unshaven executive of this small town spiritual tourist trap, one can see why.

A.R.E. Is a money scam. A dear friend of mine left a substantial bequeath of his estate to the organization and after being told they would receive over a quarter of a million dollars they refused to pay the $600 in fees due to the broker. I have never seen something so astonishing after someone supported their organization and gave over half a million dollar to them via book and cd purchases as well paying for events over the years and his donation in death. What a total scam.

I LOVE being at Edgar Cayces A.R.E. and in the meditation garden. As soon as I walk through the doors I feel an inner peace and calming of Spirit. I have met some pretty remarkable people while attending classes, Psychic Fairs, forums and graduations. The library has a vast array of books that have both helped me grow mindfully and spiritually. I am excited to visit again very soon.

Staff and classes are very informative. Yoga class was one of my favorites. I enjoy popping in for 3pm free lectures on very interesting, eye opening information. I do a walking meditation using the labyrinth. Then sit in the meditation garden or the meditation room. Many large crystals have been added to the meditation room to enhance the experience. I love the book store for books, crystals, jewelry, music, health care supplies, etc. the library is amazing. The spa and café are the best around. I occasionally go to seminars and have made several wonderful friends that way.

My life partner and i visited the A.R.E. just under a year ago and the spiritual experience(s) we had still remains with me. We attended a lecture and the lecturer made you feel as if she had all the time in the world to address questions/comments. When you go please plan to spend a day or more; youll be glad that you did. We did it in a few hours and were disappointed that we could not remain for a ( much ) longer time. All-in-all this was a profound experience and the site is on my must see list for VA. Beach.

Ive always wanted to come here since finding out about Edgar Cayce and his work years ago but never dreamed of actually making it down here since I live all the way in Toronto. When I got here the staff was so sweet, nice, caring and friendly! I bought a few books and other things from the gift shop and felt the ambiance to be relaxed as I made my way browsing through all the aisles. Afterwards I went upstairs to check out the meditation room, the library, see the artwork on the walls, and went outside onto the meditation garden. At some point while outside enjoying the serenity of the atmosphere, there seemed to be smoke coming from the side of the building but luckily a few people were able to put it out (whatever that was) and the day carried on. Wish I lived here so I could attend the workshops and wellness center often!

I dont know exactly how to describe the experience of being there. It was very odd and if I didnt know better I would go as far as to say it is haunted. Or a gateway to joining a cult. No kidding. The outside grounds were disappointing, we wanted to walk through the meditating garden which is actually a home to SNAKES! There was a little sign of the warning, so that was off-putting. Inside the building, the people who worked here were also odd and just zoned out. I really cant quite put my finger on it, but I didnt feel good being there. Couldnt wait to get out. Bad energy and overall creepy I would not go back.

If you are a massage therapist or in the healing arts or have been to Egypt or have children who want to attend a summer camp relatively inexpensively, or love the beach, you need to come to this center to get a massage and the bookstore. I travel about two hours to Virginia Beach to come to this Casey ARE place because it is the very most interesting in the entire city if you are of this type of mindset my children attended the summer camp for two years in a row for gifted children. They are now grown and one is a police officer and the other a school teacher I am a trager Practitioner, looking for an inexpensive house to buy near the center so I can retire and be close to like minded people.

It was almost 30 years ago now. Since weare in Virginia Beach, we may go by tomorrow if it is not raining too hard. Joyce, and her mother before her, have/gad psychic abilities. I do not pretend to understand it, but I have seen way more than enough to know some people have this ability. When Joyce has told me to avoid someone, it has ALWAYS turned out to be great advice.

I just returned from attending a conference on Animal Communication at A.R.E in Virginia Beach and cant really say enough positive things about the entire experience. Visiting the A.R.E actually surpassed any expectations I had. There is so much to take advantage of here, you could spend days. They have conferences on a regular basis with enlightened speakers from around the globe--and if you cant make it to the conference they are often live streamed or you can view the conference afterwards online. The bookstore has one of the best selections on all books spiritual and metaphysical that you can image. The library on the second floor was astounding and contains all the original Cayce readings. There is a beautiful mediation room on the 3rd floor overlooking the ocean and there are free meditation classes held here most days. There are several movies, lectures and classes held every day for free-truly a wonderful public service. All the people I encountered my 3 days went out of their way to make you feel welcome--the energy was incredibly uplifting. The grounds are beautiful--there is a healing garden with a few water features that is incredibly peaceful. On the site of the original hospital, there is a spa which offers a wide variety of services, and a cafe The Leaping Lizard that offers delicious food. In front of the spa there is an amazing dolphin themed labyrinth that is also open to the public at any time. This whole facility is a tremendous gift to the people of Virginia Beach since there is so much you can take advantage of at no cost. I highly recommend it as a place to enlighten, uplift and soothe your spirit. Dr. Marina Quattrocchi

Good Morning, It is today that we honor the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King. I was 9 when Dr. King was assassinated. My mom took me and my sisters to local rallies to help bring an end to racism and prejudice. I lived and taught forgiveness and unconditional self love for the past 15 years. A.R.E. was a place where I could go and meditate during the most gut wrenching times in my adult life. Anyone can imagine how I am feeling now being sued by their administrators without merit. I cant say anything about the frivolous suit. However, for anyone who has experienced greed at the hands of this organization in dealing with an irrevocable trust or inheritance, contact me with a solution.

My introduction to Edgar Cayce and the A.R.E. came when I first read the books, Edgar Cayce the Sleeping Prophet, Dreams Your Magic Mirror and Many Mansions in 1968. That was over 50 years ago! Three or four years later I visited the A.R.E. and had the privilege to actually meet with Edgar Cayces son, Hugh Lynn Cayce, who was an amazing person in his own rite. Since that time I have been back to the A.R.E. in Virginia Beach three more times and was incredibly impressed each time with everyones knowledge and understanding of life, as well as the passion and integrity of those that I met. I also was impressed with the talent of the people giving the workshops and lectures ... so much can be learned here ... and it is a wonderful place to begin your search into what life is about, knowing that what you learn will serve you well through a lifetime. What I have learned from the Edgar Cayce readings gave me a solid foundation upon which to build my understanding of life ... and as time has gone by nearly everything that I leaned here has proven correct and helped me so much in my life that I really cannot put it into words. There are so few places where you can actually count on receiving the truth of what life is about without sorting through tons of what is not true ... but the A.R.E. is one place where you go to find out the facts about life without having to discard so much since most of what you learn will be solid and true. It might take a little work to get into the language that is used in the readings, at times, but the effort will be well worth the effort in the long run.A trip to the A.R.E. is a wonderful experience and I think that you will be impressed, as I was, with its beautiful setting alongside the Atlantic Ocean. In addition to Atlantic University, which is highly rated and where you can obtain fully accredited degrees - including Graduate School - in transpersonal and spiritual studies, it also has The Cayce/Reilly® School of Massotherapy where you can earn your certification in several type of massage. In addition, it has the original Cayce Hospital which was recently refurbished, although it is not now being used as a hospital; then, there is the Library, which contains all of the original readings as well as possibly the largest selection of metaphysical books in the world; recently added, there is the new de Laski Education Center; and soon, by early 2016, there will also be the beginning of a transcendent healing center which will offer a great variety of healing techniques, and even - on the higher level - will have a way to actually heal the scars from past lifetimes, including what would cause the karma itself.I have never personally found any other association anywhere in the world which can come even close to the Association for Research and Enlightenment with what it does and how it has the potential to open doors to understanding, not only concerning the world we live in, but also to help us find the answers to questions about where we came from in the beginning and what our purpose for being is all about. I simply would ask you ... where else can you find all of these things, and depend on what you uncover to be true? It may not be perfect, but it is a work in process that is moving in the direction of the Ideal and Ideals that are stated in all of their literature and all that they are doing from day to day.
