Dr. Kevin Ellis is sooo amazing! I’m looking at the little bit of bad reviews on him and I’m so confused because I know that he’s a dentist that actually cares about your teeth. Emphasis on “caressss”. I came in for a cleaning from the Groupon and he said I needed to get a fill in for a cavity which I already knew about. I actually held it off for a while but I decided to go to him to get it fixed. After closer inspection he saw that it was a veryyyy deep cavity and I was very close to needing a root canal. Knowing me I get very nervous about root canals and that stuff because it basically means the cavity has now reached the root of your tooth. He saw that I was nervous and decided to SAVE my tooth by putting a base in first then filling it up. Most dentists wouldn’t have explained that the tooth can be saved and would’ve just given a root canal for the money. I’m soo thankful that I found him and I’m also recommending my older sister Brianna to the place so if she comes in just know I sent her!! He also is a great conversationalist every time I come in! As an African American women it’s hard to find dentists that are genuine and for your best interest so if you were deciding on going please do!!

I went to this dentist and paid for a groupon cleaning and he flat refused and wanted other services done and claimed the service that I paid for could not be completed. Do not spend your money here it will be wasted. You are better off throwing it in the wind! I would give them 0 stars if I could but I cannot post this review otherwise.

Dr. Ellis is an exceptional dentist. I have had several urgent and extensive dental issues which he has fixed with attention to the smallest details. He has a great sense of humor and cares about his patients. Becky his administrative aide is personable, friendly and always there to help. Cara his dental assistant is compassionate, calming and great at her job. The whole office clearly cares about patients, which is rare.

I am very happy with the Dentist here, and his staff. Excellent work done! I would recommend him to everyone:-)

Awful experience! I waited over an hour for a teeth cleaning as no hygienists are on staff. I was also advised I needed a special cleaning due to early signs of periodontal disease, which so happens the groupon I had did not cover. I had what limited documentation was completed reviewed by 2 dentists and 2 hygienists who concluded there is insufficient evidence to support this, especially when provided a full dental history including regularly scheduled yearly cleanings. I would not recommend!

Personalized care with a lot quality time from the dentist himself, which is refreshing these days. The hygienist, Kara, was great as well and very thorough!

Dr. Ellis is a great dentist, and everybody that works at the office is extremely friendly! I had a groupon to get a cleaning, exam, and x-rays! I was in and out fast without a wait! I was even able to schedule a follow up appointment less than a week later to get some more work done too! I was afraid of how much it would cost me with not having dental insurance, but Dr. Ellis is VERY REASONABLY priced! Would definitely recommend him to anybody!!

I spend 163$ for exam just for 5 minutes. And they give treatment plan on $ 15 372. Just for cleaning and few crown . Another office made cleaning and exam for $50 and give me treatment plan on $1800. So if you want spent much money I recommend you Dr. Kevin J. Ellis

The moment I walked into the office it felt like a dentist office from a Third World Country. Stay away, seek services from another dentist.

The best dentist I’ve ever had

I have been going to Dr. Ellis ever since I first moved to VA Beach 18 years ago. He has had the same Office Manager the whole time. Always a good experience.

I have worked for Dr Ellis for 16 years and I cant imagine working anywhere else. I enjoy the patients and the quiet family environment. Dr Ellis takes his time and stands behind his work.

At first I was confused because the office is located in a hotel/resort but to my surprise the office was very clean and the staff were excellent.

I was a bit skeptical buying a groupon for a dental exam but I read the reviews and it seemed like itd be ok.I was called back for my appointment by the dental assistant and my 2.5 yr old son was with me sitting on the couch and she said just to leave him there because she needed to do X-rays. Ive never been in this office so there was no way I was gonna leave my son in the waiting room alone. I told her that he had to come with me because he would cry if I left him and asked if there was a chair in the back area that was somewhat close. She grabbed a foot stool which she put in the hallway for him to sit on, he was playing on my iPad at the time so he seemed content. When she was done with the X-rays we moved the footstool into the exam room because there wasnt an extra chair. She slid him pretty much in a cubby under a desk. I was starting to feel a little weird about the whole thing because they definitely were being less then accommodating and Im sure Im not that first mom that had to bring a toddler to an appointment.At this point Dr Ellis came in to do the exam and cleaning and was being really rude about flossing. As they turned on the suction and stuff my son got nervous and started crying a little and saying momma. He just didnt know what was happening. Dr Ellis started to get really frustrated and called his secretary in and I apologized and said hes only 2 hes just nervous. Can I put him on my lap or something to which he replied he cant be up here by my equipment. (A pick and a suction tube but whatever) He quickly finishes the exam and snaps is he ok not asking but as a statement and leaves the room. My son is standing beside me now down by my leg, holding my hand, not in the way and Dr Ellis comes back and asks if I got things under control yet. I responded that everything was fine that he was just scared of the noises.He then starts looking in my mouth and turns on the suction again and my son starts to say momma again. Dr Ellis then stops and says this is totally inappropriate. I apologized again and asked what hed like me to do.... I have a 2 yr old.He responds youre going to need to reschedule and come in alone, this is totally inappropriate to bring a child in here. We arent a babysitting serviceI said I wasnt asking anyone to babysit I asked if I could put my son on my lap. To which he responded you dont bring a child in here, theres infection and all sorts of things in here.I said Im not rescheduling.... Im never coming back here. Im so in shock right now. Ive never been treated like thisHe says thats fine and gets up and leaves.He obviously doesnt have children. What did he expect me to do? Its not like he was doing surgery he was doing an exam. I work in a medical office and I would never treat someone like this.I will NEVER go back to this office and will let everyone I know the same. Horrible customer service and so disrespectful it was unbelievable. Trust me and take your business elsewhere!

Only a 1 because i was not told they go on lunch break and no one would be in the office there was no sign stating they were on lunch.
