We were very pleased with the care we received on the telemetry unit. Nurse Ricardo was amazing and nurse Bridget was amazing as well. Everyone met our needs and responded to our calls immediately. Echo tech Roberto was very nice and made us feel very comfortable with his great personality. The doctors came in promptly and discussed and explained plan of care. All our questions were answered. I did not have the same experience at the ER. Dr Baker was very good but my husband was not checked for hours and calls were not answered. I really believe they were overwhelmed with so many Covid patients and so many emergencies otherwise I think it would have been different.

Upon arrival I felt that the intake staff/office clerk could have been more warm & welcoming. Being a surgical patient will make you anxious enough without feeling like the “next number”. Beyond that everything & everyone else were very pleasant and informative through out the process. The nurses were friendly and attentive and of Course Dr. Chang was his direct & amazing self as Always. His relaxed demeanor both before and after the surgery put me at ease and reassured me that I was in the right place with the right doctor. I never felt like I was in the dark about what to expect during the procedure or what to do after. Thank you all very much!!!

I am beyond pleased with our labor & delivery experience. The nurses were kind and caring and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. They were compassionate and very professional. Also, the food never tasted like hospital food. It was impressive.

I have a friend who is at 4 east and has been battling some challenges with very little strength who go on social media live and said he called for help due to an IV pole clear across his chest that he could not pick up he mentioned calling for help for about 10 minutes and no one came to help nor did anyone come while he pressed the call button while on live… I took action to call and was told I informed them he needed help I said well no one has gone! She stated someone would be called once again to help him… this is my thing why not get up and help even if it’s not in your description, he obviously could not bare it any longer. I then asked to be transferred to the House Supervisor well not surprised she or he didn’t answer so I left a voicemail. This is very unprofessional from the operator answering after the 8th ring to the person that answered stating I called someone already.I’m very infuriated with the manner of DeTar Navarro. I will see how long it takes for them to call me back.

I had the best care at De Tar Hospital that I have ever had in any other hospital I have been in. All the nurses were so kind and professional they made me feel very special and well cared for. I would not hesitate to have to be there again as a patient. I feel very grateful for all who took care of me.

Detar Navarro- Highly recommend. Never thought I would be Admitted back to back. With the high stress of Covid. I can Honestly say From Doctors ,RN nurses, CNAs, Med-Aids, X-ray, Lab, All Staff.** But for most I want to give High Praise to this Team because it begins with them. Nurses was amazing my favorite nurse was Dominique though she was on time with everything it amazed me with the college students coming in with the nurses they had pretty good questions for nurse and for myself . Also let’s not forget about the epidural specialist he was amazing mr Paul . All in all it was an great stay other then the lady that does birth certificates she messed my sons whole birth certificate up she had first and last name spelled all wrong and never came back up to the room before they let me go

From beginning to end I was treated with respect, a warm welcoming and lots of love. All of the nurses did a wonderful job. The housekeeping was amazing didn’t make it awkward while they cleaned up. The kitchen staff was amazing just like the food they served. Amazing experience would recommend this hospital to everyone.

How do you forget to feed your patients? Had a call earlier in the day offering me a menu to choose for dinner and breakfast and they did not bring me any dinner now I’m sitting here hungry and wondering if I’m going to get breakfast in the morning what a wonderful place.

Detar Hospital is not performing as well as they used to they dont take care of their patients really well when youre in a room only time you see anybody is when they come give you take your bottles all through the night and all day long you try to gas for anything else no help Barbie and it takes forever to get some pain meds food there yeah I know Im on the special diet but that proved there is got to go they used to have a good menu somebody changed it hope this helps try to go through and take care of you issues detar

DeTar used to be a very comfortable facility to be taken to for care. Now half of the staff is doesnt really care about anything that makes them go out of their way. You they make you feel like you are inconceniencing them for asking for help. Lack of communication with patients and families is at an all time high. Dont take anyone away from their duties cell phones, or your stay will not be nice.

We used the Wound Care Center at the Post Op. Center. Everyone on staff was great! They knew exactly how to help my daughter. They remembered us each week, AND when I needed to call, I got a real person on the phone. MUCH better than our experience with Wound Care in San Antonio! Also, we never had to wait more than 5-10 min. to get started with our appointment. Amazing! Who ever is running this place is doing a great job!

I went to Citizens on a Sunday for uncontrolled vomiting and diarrhea, I was left in the waiting room throwing up with no help. When I was finally seen I was given nausea medicine and released. Monday I felt better but then Tuesday I woke up throwing up again. But this time I went to Detar. I was seen very quickly by the nicest staff. The doctor was very knowledgeable and helpful and didn’t let me leave until they found out what was wrong with me. The doctor diagnosed me and prescribed me the proper meds. I am feeling way better now thanks to Detar.

Out of the two hospitals in Victoria Texas detar hospital is the by far the best in the town of Victoria Texas. The entire staff was extremely supportive and professional in the way I was taken care of, I had the same procedure done at both hospitals.

100/10 for the er. Dr Francis is an awesome dr. Took the time to explain what was going on with me & didnt treat me like a number. The nurses are great too. Especially Erica. Theres more awesome staff, but I cant think of their names atm. Overall, I recommend coming to detar if youre going to the emergency room especially.Also my husband came and had a good experience at this hospital as well. Were not local, so its just awesome to find a hospital that is on top of things, nice staff, friendly drs and nurses.

This morning I was short of breath my wife said I had trouble breathing all night and partly two days before. I did not respond to her concerns .Symptoms were out of control on the 27th fever and dehydration got the best of me.My wife took me to the emergency room and they diagnosed me within minutes with pneumonia. I had no clue . I was very distressed. They put me on iv ‘s and I felt better in a short time .Every one assigned to me checked on me on a minute to minute basis.I would like to thank everyone.Dr BakerDesi npBobby NPI am home being thankful !!!!!!!

During my stay, all staff were attentive to my needs. Kept me comfortable and were very professional. Friendly smiling faces.My only complaint was at my pre op lab appt, i was in distress after my covid test and asked twice for a tissue or paper towel, i said it was urgent, and still had to wait until she finished with another pt, over 10 minutes to get one tissue. Then i felt the lab tech was annoyed with me for asking twice. Maybe just put a box of tissue in the lab waiting area so as not to bother the staff. I felt she could have handed me a wad of paper towels or something before starting her lab draw.. i wasnt trying to cut in line, i was crying and in pain and just needed tissue, my contact had gotten stuck under my eyelid, i couldnt see, my nose was burning, i got dizzy and was panicked for 10 mjnutes-- all for a tissue.

Okay well I was treated for and they were very nice, cant complain needed help got it, Dr definitely had a good bedside manner, I was in good hands definatly recommend this place just a little slow to discharge Thanks every one who helped with my care @ De tar Navarro ! Sincerly....

Got there on Monday for my hip replacement. I was treated very good down stairs by the O RStaff/nurses. My Dr comes in on time and checked up on me and says were ready to go! I wasnt nurvous at all. I woke up in my hospital room on the fifth floor in so much pain. I was given pain med and was told I needed to get dressed because I was going home in a couple of hours. Thats where my nurves took over. I was running a fever but had to ask for my temp check and vital signs because something wasnt right. I ended up staying till the next day. I explained to them I wouldnt have anyone at home to help till Tuesday. They had a change in attitude I could tell. I didnt feel welcomed anymore. I felt like I was in their way. Before I left on Tuesday the PT department and OT department gave me very important info on what to do/not do. They were so helpful and made me and answer my questions a priority. I cant help but wonder how elderly people that dont speak up are doing because I know there were a couple more patients in there 70+ that were sent home right after surgery. oh and I still havent got my equipment dropped off yet and noones called to check on my progress. sent hoeme right after surgery 😢💔

The hospital staff will lie to you to get you to agree to be discharged and they will also forge your signature if they have too to get you out of the hospital if your insurance is not paying enough. And they will lie to the hospitals doctor if it means getting you out of the hospital with out your say on the matter.

Well I got to the ER at Detar Navarro on 11-6-2020 at 11:30 Am everyone was so nice and made me comfortable.I was in there until like 3pm before they decided to admit me for more testing which was cool.I reached my hospital room and everyone was nice and made me comfortable there also when I first gotten there .On Friday morning it seems like everyone was so busy I did not hear from my nurses at all anymore from 11AM to 6pm thank God they released me last night because seem like I was just there all by myself .They need to do better.

My mother, Mary Salazar, went in the hospital May 8 thru May 15. She has dementia but is high functioning. She came home non verbal, depressed and in terrible condition. The nurses did not even bother to put her shoes on! If my mother is treated well she is happy, talkative and in good spirits. She described to us how the nurses would not pay attention to her & ignored her. The hospital was on lock down & no visitors were allowed so the staff did whatever they wanted. I am convinced of that. Before the pandemic when we were there around the clock the staff was wonderful, of course. They knew they could not get away with ignoring requests. They had to give my mother the level of care expected because we were there. We have been using De Tar hospital for ages but will do our best to avoid going there from now on. From what I have heard from other people the hospital has become one of the worst places for your loved ones to be at. My sister reported all this to everyone in authority but no one will follow up. What does that tell you?

Excellent service, up to date health care provided by professional staff. Communications between staff and patient were prompt and concise. Staff was very accommodating.

These nurses and doctors have done very little to describe the reason as to what exactly was wrong with my mother, even after lab tests, 2 CT scans, and a heart sonogram, other than there being a noticeable deviation of enzyme levels dealing with her heart. Hours after a CT scan of her chest Im told that its still being processed, hard to believe that anything takes hours to process (in a digital sense) seems like a poor excuse to cover a lack of oversight and dropping the ball on patient care. I had to inquire with the head nurse later and was told the doctor had came to her floor and informed the lead nurse that there was nothing wrong. We have been trying to get her discharge paperwork since 3pm, when the doctor had cleared her for release, and 4.5 hours later we are still here waiting on medications to be cleared. It doesnt make sense. And the attitude of this nurse when my mother (who is over 70 years old, 100% disabled, had 8 major back operations and still experiences debilitating pain everyday) told her she is ready to go..... well it seemed more like the response of a correctional officer than a healthcare worker.Also, since Im writing this one more bone to pick.In June or july of 2016 my stepfather (who was healthy and active enough to get out and work his ranch almost each and every day went in for minimally invasive surgery to correct atrial fibrillation. Well he came out of surgery friday morning and was conscious enough to be able to talk to us. Being that he was in ICU, they ushered us out at noon and when we went back in at 1pm his condition had deteriorated, he was moaning, thrashing about, incoherent, and just seemed he became completely feral (I cant even describe how bad it was out of respect for him). They, being the medical professionals did not figure out what happened until Sunday around noon. 72 HOURS LATER, 3 WHOLE DAYS, HE WAS FINALLY TREATED! He had suffered a stroke as a result of side effects of anesthesia, the bleeding on the brain type, and by then there had been too much damage done for him to ever recover. He fought hard for the next 6 months, but required 24 hour care every day until he passed. I will forever blame the staff who were to ward over him for their ineptness and inability to see the signs of a stroke until it was too late. It was an elective surgery, and a healthy and active man ended up losing his life

Hands down to Melissa Stevens, I never felt more comfortable and safe to say I was in the hands of someone who gave a sh**.She did her job and then some with genuine care even though her reviews on my behavior would be otherwise the complete opposite. I’m 35 and never have I been admitted into a hospital or even spoke of any kind of surgery being a possibility. No surgery was needed although I can comfortably say had they needed to operate, it would be the removal of miss Stevens foot from my rear for driving her up the wall on my almost great escape!Thank you as well to the night nurse whom tolerated the same if not worst attempts for the great escape I wish her name was more visible to say but you all should know and please thank her.Thank you Detar both North & Navarro you are my hero’s hands down to the best staff ever, my go-to place!!!

My condition was treated seriously since it was my 2nd bout with COVID-19 in a week. I was treated agressively with various meds & each step was explained. All nurses & aides kept personal protective masks & gloves on and treated me professionally. I was very pleased with my care.

The nurses and physicians treated me while I was there with care, understanding and compassion as well as Comfort. The two men who took me to Catscan with and without contrast spoke to me while we were going to that department , they re assured me that everything would be ok, that they would take good care of me. I told Them I was scared they both calmed me down. They told me breathe through your nose, your okay. Youre doing good. All that talking to me and reassuring me calmed me down Tremendously. I truly appreciate all the care I was given at DeTar on Navarro. I felt like everyone there cared about me and wanted to help me feel better and feel safe.

The care I received from the nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and hospitalists was wonderful. Due to the excellent nursing and therapy staff I recovered much faster than I imagined I could.My only problem was that when I was discharged I was told that a NECESSARY prescription had been sent to my pharmacy, but it was never received. Calling to check on it got no answers .

DeTar Hospital, The Drs, and nurses are doing a really good job when it comes to the safety of the patients and themselves. Great Job!!!

My Uncle is in ICU. He spoke so highly of the Hospital and how friendly and helpful everyone is, especially the nursing staff. He says he has been there several times in his many years during his life time. They have always been so nice to me, this is the only hospital I want to go to. Thank you all so much, you are so appreciated for all you do and say. I know God blesses those that bless others.

I have been trying to get my nephew help because he has been vomiting blood. He has went in twice to the emergency room. The gave him an IV and sent him home. They told him to go to a primary physician. My nephew has no insurance and cant pay a physician out of pocket. I am trying to help from another state. I looked up the reviews and was horrified. This young man is vomiting blood and they just send him home! The state I live in provides care no matter what. What is wrong with this place. So worried for him because I just sent him back there.

Terrible processes. Patient care is not a real priority. Excuses run rampant among the staff such as busy will be back. Or I will check and never follow up. Do not keep family appraised of status when patient is unable. Discharge planning is really nonexistent. It’s just do as we say never mind any particular concern. Nurses can’t give status never know even approximately when doctors come to see patients. No common sense at all. Very disappointed to say the least.

They took good care of me

Took my daughter in because she started having a high fever the night before that we couldn’t keep down. Came in and it had gone down to 100.6. She didn’t start running the fever until after 4:30 pm the day before. I am here now and it’s 7:44 am. Dr. Alfonso Cardenas was the doctor she had in here. He was rude, and wouldn’t let us speak but maybe one word, got mad because we didn’t get her into her doctor when she started running a fever, and didn’t let us ask him any questions at all. As of right now, the hospital is the only choice we have due to the children’s clinic closing not having anymore appointments after 4:00pm and them not being open the next day til 8:30 am. Definitely do NOT recommend the emergency area here for anyone. I am having my 3rd child here in less than a month and i have never had problems here until now. Emergency here sucks!! He ended up diagnosing her with strep throat, but didn’t do a swap test.

I’ve been in this facility before & received excellent care. This time I was sent here by my physician for lab work. The girl at registration doesn’t have a clue what’s up, & seems to be set on getting me away from her desk. She isn’t concerned with my situation at all. Actually a little rude. I waited 45 min the first time. My wife called & did her job for her, now I think she’s gonna make me wait even longer. 😡

They let my father lay on the floor for 3 days with no IV I kept asking why dont you give him one they told me the blood work looks Good Friday evening comes around hes too weak to swallow his own pills they tell me they cant do nothing for him Until speech therapy comes Monday I tell them theyre going to do something theyre going to give him an ivy they Finally agree To give an IV Saturday morning he was perfectly fineThis is just one of my Badd experiences with them The doctors do not care

Went in in the early morning to the ER. The staff were friendly and very helpful, and I wa seen quickly. After being delivered to a room to wait for further assistance an ambulance arrived. That I believe is why it took an hour for me to be seen, but even though I was in pain I didn’t mind as my “emergency” was nowhere near an ambulance ride. Once I was seen the nurse was extremely kind and helped explain everything. The entire experience was pleasant (aside from my ailments) and I would enjoy visiting again should the need arise.

I was really appalled at how rude and unprofessional the doctors were here in the ER.! Never in my life have I seen such uncaring so called doctors in an ER!! I thought it was just me but after reading all the bad reviews, I can say for sure ...this ER department needs some new blood! What is the problem? Are they not paid well? Not enough incentives? They cant be overworked there werent enough patients to merit that excuse. Unless they just cant handle the stress. When we go to an ER its a last resort!! At least for most of us! We need a little more listening, compassion, and understanding and a diagnosis. A doctor is supposed to care.. if thats not possible then maybe the doctors from the ER should find another money making profession! If youre unhappy dont make us unhappy!!!!

I had surgery there on March 28 of this year, and I can honestly say, I received the best of care from all the staff involved in my care. I give a big Thank You to the a nursing staff, the doctors, the housekeeping department, the dietary department and all that played a part in my care. You all was great and I appreciate all of you. And I cant leave out the outpatient surgery team, thank you. Navarro Regional Hospital.

My sister is there now. the doctors have been super but the nursing leaves alot to be desired. I suspect they are under staffed.

What good is a hospital if they cant help with any questions that you have over the phone or transfer you to someone who can help you?? Ive never had any issues before with any other hospital. The lady was completely rude & refused to help. Shouldve known from the reviews.

My daughter in late November had her first child at DeTar North and the care was exceptional. I was amazed with the demonstration of compassionate care from Dr. Zamora to the nursing teams. I would highly recommend.

Wish they would have a ZERO on this board. They don’t even deserve one star. This ER/Hospital has some serious problems. I will NEVER go back to that rat hole ever again. I pray for those that have no choice, This place is full of human error. They had someone else’s paperwork mixed up with mine, and almost treated me for a condition I didn’t have. I went in with a kidney stone, for all those who haven’t had one it will drop a grown man to his knees. The rude receptionist made me fill out the forms while in Excruciating pain. Passed me a barf bag because I was nauseous, then made me wait for 20 min in the waiting room. Well I can rant my disgust with this place for quite a bit, but just beware of this nasty and disgusting so called hospital. Your care is not their concern, the $$$$ are.

It was necessary to bring my husband to the ER the Sunday after Hurricane Harvey. Some of the staff had been in the ER since Thursday prior to the storm. In many cases the staff had no idea what damage their homes might have sustained. They were away from the families. The hospital had electricity thanks to a generator, but no water. They were evacuating patients to SAT Austin, and College Station. With all that chaos around them, they still took care of my husband with such professionalism. We are extremely grateful to all the staff - from the registration desk, to the imaging department, to the nurses in the ER. Doctor Francis was outstanding. And, he had a wonderful sense of humor which helped our situation. BRAVO to the staff of DeTar on Navarro!

Do not go to this hospital for anything! Their business office is off-site and has no idea what they are doing. We have received bill after bill with no explanation whatsoever. If you show that you can pay then they just keep recreating new bills. It never ends.

As a former employee of Detar hospital I am sad to say my recent visit there was disturbing and very disappointing. Lack of communication among my providers; a shockingly unclean room and linens; senseless intrusion by nursing staff in the middle of the night and what I believe to be an unnecessary number of repeated tests. These are some of the reasons for my deep sense of dissatisfaction with services I received from a hospital I once loved. I do plan on contesting hospital charges.

The birthing center is amazing. They are very attentive and helped me with bieng a first time mom. I would not have gone anywhere else for my birthing. Simply amazing.

Literally saved my life. I had a septic emboli and would not be here were it not for the excellent staff. They went above an beyond and I am grateful.

Information desk was very rude prejudiced

Tried to find out if my son was there but the answering desk person is truly, really stupid.... Said hes not there 3 times then transfered me and WOW, he was there... Need better people to answer the phone. Preferably one with a brain.. And the nurses wont answer some questions over the phone, but other people got the answers... What is going on

Had a total knee replacement on 8/27/2019 and the level of care at the Detar Joint Replacement Center was spot on. From the nurses, to the therapist, the food, and all the staff, Thx!! Great Job!!

This is the worst hospital I have ever been to or heard of basically kicked me out because they didnt wanna test me any more and find the sloution. Noone would come check on me I had to find a nurse 3 different time to talk to. Absolutely the WORST !!!
