Massage was very...mediocre at best. Glenna, the manager, is unprofessional. Her staff member, Bailey, signed me up for a membership that I was considering...I didn’t consent to her enrolling me in auto pay. There are no signatures. They only have a text message saying “what would be needed to get started” and to me, that isn’t consent. I spoke to the young lady on the phone, after. STILL did not authorize her to sign me up. A massage business with a lack of understanding of consent is dangerous.Now. I tried to resolve this issue with Glenna. She’s terrible. Bad service. Bad attitude. And lack of understanding. Not competent. Easily a flat out liar. She told me her records indicated I called to make an appointment. The appointment was made at my previous session in person. I said no to the membership at that time. And then I reconsidered but never agreed. Ever.Now with that being said, they attempt to charge my account daily for the membership and they refuse to stop. AWFUL. BUYER BEWARE.

I went to Envy for a first time massage the lady upfront asked me if I want a membership and I said I am moving from tyler .she said you can cancel it if you move away from Tyler .So I got the membership.I didnt like the 1st massage and went for the 2nd time and didnt like it either.So moved away called the Envy talked to someone and explained my situation, she said send a copy of my utility bill and I did,after awhile another person called me she said she is the manager and the 1st lady I talked to earlier was the one that signed you and she never told you that you can cancel if you move away.after 5 minutes talked she stood the ground that I cant cancel.So for 2 massages with one year membership I am paying $840 .In my town I found a local massost and I am paying $60 for one hour without any membership and am very happy.My recommendation is ,never sign any contract with these companies find a local massost they do better for you and you get the most out of your money without a membership.

Bought my wife a birthday message and facial for her birthday. I go into store and get an hour of both. Two people tell me the price so I pay for it and include tip. I was assured she wouldn’t have to do anything. My wife upon leaving is told she owes 20 dollars for the services and no tip was included. I will be reporting this company to the BBB. Nice little extra cash game going!

Not sure whats going on. I been a member since last November and the past 2 visits I have been disappointed. The old staff was very talkative about how I like my massage and made me comfortable. The lady today barely used lotion and it was a dry rub and made my back very tender. The last lady didnt like to wear a mask and only wore when dealing when I was face down and she was coughing. Will not be renewing my membership for another year. Glad next month my last month of auto draft. Im really not a complainer but Im paying monthly and not satisfied. I have hours left and I dont even want to use them. Waste of money

It is sad that I’m having to write a bad review but I feel it is necessary and after reading the other poor reviews, I feel their pain. During COVID 19, my account was put on a “freeze” and I was told my account would not be charged. It was in fact charged and when I brought it to the attention of the manager over 2 months ago, I have yet to be refunded!!! Every time I call I get the run around. I was promised that this would be resolved and someone would call me. Nothing. I have been extremely patient but now it’s making me angry. The fact that there is no communication or resolve is very poor management.Update: replied to the response from the owner below. Still nothing has been done about charging my account when I was told it wouldn’t be charged. I’m still getting the run around. Is this how they want to treat people?! Very sad. It has been nearly 6 months!

I have been coming here for several years. I have a membership, which makes the massages very affordable. When I started, I tried several therapists until I found the one I prefer, David. He is knowledgeable and professional. I have seen turnover at the front desk as well as billing errors. However, this does not affect my review as the service and massage are always excellent.

I went for my first professional massage ever and while i was given the full monologue about the membership perks i was not given ANY instructions. I had no idea what to expect. I was put in a room and told to lie on my face and shed me back shortly, and she disappeared before i could ask any questions. I actually had to call a friend to ask if i was supposed to remove my cloths and what to do. So i undress and get on the table. The music was weird and dark and the speaker kept popping and the room had an odd smell. My person comes in and asked if i wanted area focused on. I signed up for a full body but knew i probably carried a LOT of tension in my neck shoulders and back so i said that. She said ok and went to work. In her defense she told me to tell her if it hurt and i said ok bur that i figured my tension knots would hurt and she agreed but i really had no idea what it was supposed to feel like. Well, to say it was excruciating would be an understatement. I felt my muscles pop, I HEARD them pop, and i kept thinking ok it will stop hurting once she works out the kinks but she went so extremely hard. I request medium firm but i DEFINITELY recieved deep tissue. Even my legs were in horrible agony and she only rubbed the random sections and completely skipped other parts of my legs and back. I feel like it was my fault because i didnt say anything but if i had been told what to expect, what it was supposed to feel like, ANY type of discussion to introduce me to the new experience i might have felt more comfortable speaking up. Im very nonconfrontational so it was a very uncomfortable position to be in. She never touched my arms and rubbed my neck and scalp so hard i had a killer headache afterwards. When it was over she flipped the lights on without warning me, told me to drink lots of water and left. I got to the front desk to pay and was again hit with the membership push. I was hurting so bad i just wanted to get out of there. I cried in my car from pain and disappointment and the next day i couldnt hardly wear a bra or carry my purse my back and everywhere she touched was extremely sore and painful to the touch. I wish i had read these reviews before i went and ill never go back and if massages hurt like that then ill never get one again from anywhere.

I have tried several of the therapists and enjoyed many wonderful massages, Meagan is my favorite. She is patient and fluid in her massage technique and I am so very grateful each time I indulge in this wonderful self care. It never feels rushed and I leave glowing.

It is true that they shave off about 10 minutes of time (5 off the start and end) for consult and dressing - I wish that time didn’t count against your actual massage time. I usually do 90 minutes so it is not too bad for me. Management should consider adjusting that policy though.Cost-wise, they are fairly mid-range. I have never had any trouble with appointment scheduling, and I always get a call the day before to remind me. I have also never had to wait past my assigned appointment time.As far as the quality of the massage:To me, it’s all about which therapist you have - keep trying until you find someone you click with. Johna is who I always use and she’s absolutely great for me. Perfect pressure and she’s great about finding tension spots and relieving them (I carry a lot of stress in my shoulders and upper back).I was there last week and the power went out for about 5 minutes - she didn’t even flinch, just kept doing her thing. That’s good service.

My first visit, went in and everything seemed great. I scheduled a 1 hour massage with an add in if 10 minutes with their percussion therapy. To me, and add on means they will add on 10 minutes to your 1 hour massage.... NOT SO! That add on takes away time from your massage, so now you would think nay would mean a 50 minute massage... NOT SO! They take away 5 minutes before and after for time for you to change and consult about you massage... so basically you pay a crap ton of money for 40 minutes of actual massage time. NOT HAPPY AT ALL!! I work extremely hard for my money and I feel like I was ripped off! Will not go back and will encourage everyone else to not go! Unless you like getting less for your money, than this is your place!

I went in for a 60 min massage and we started at 12:12 ended at 12:50! I still had to pay for the full 60 min and only got a 38 minute massage. It was a wonderful massage but would have like what I paid for.I had an apt for 12:00

Wow I feel so good! Like a noodle!! I had a lady and she was older with long grey hair but very good and nice. It was relaxing and praise Jesus I had a woman. Last time i had a guy it was so uncomfortable not that it was his fault its just I dont like strange guys touching me even if it was professional! So they do take what you want seriously!!

All the therapists have been excellent. The problems Ive had are with scheduling. Ive never been able to schedule online, which would be so convenient. And about the time I get used to one therapist, her schedule changes or she leaves so that I have to find a new one. The worst was one month when they changed my appointment time about 4 times, Im not kidding. The last time they called me was within about 90 minutes of the appointment time. Fortunately I was available, so I went to the appointment. Again, everyone is nice, and the therapists are great. The scheduling issues need to be figured out.

Ever since they switched owners the place has really gone down hill. They went from extremely friendly office staff to clueless ones. Have had an issue for past 6 months and we address every month we are in and the problem has yet to be resolved. Only reason I give them a 2 star is because ALL they have going for them is their therapist...Debra, Jacob, and David. They are the only reason we (my mother and I) keep going. Sadly, the front office staff sets the mood and greatly lower my rating. Therapist 4 star.... Office staff 1 star.

Massage Envy, Tyler double charged me for massage services debiting my credit card an excessive amount twice. This location took their own liberties with my personal information, picking and choosing from different credit card numbers they had on file for me and my family members. Renee at the front desk randomly ran two of our cards without our knowledge or consent, for a charge not even warranted. Manager Channing (a very unprofessional lady) supported this fraudulent use of my payment information {stored in their system for the purposes of future booking confirmations only in good faith} and was very rude when I tried to call in to address this misuse. I have a complaint forwarded to corporate, and the charge is being investigated by my credit card company. I don’t know how much the owners are involved in monitoring their employees, but they need to really check on how their people are running the show! No authorization, no knowledge, no signature - nothing from me before Renee decided to arbitrarily run our cards, manually inputting a card I didn’t even want to use at all! This is a very dishonest crew running a horrible franchise ~ be aware!!! Thought we would have a great experience under the Massage Envy umbrella, but not the case at all. Will never go back again, and strongly recommend choosing other massage establishments in Tyler. Also massage times are always inexcusably and significantly cut short. Renee (front desk staff) is so odd during any conversations, and I always feel awkward and uncomfortable talking to her. She makes weird comments, is loud, in your face, and is annoying to deal with. Interesting to note I’m not the only one who had an unpleasant experience with the staff at this location (seeing all the one star poor reviews). Wish I had read the reviews before our bookings, red flags everywhere. There is just no room for such ignorant ways of practicing business amongst today’s establishments! I mean we will simply communicate bad experiences, resolve, and find better places.

I scheduled my massage for 10:00 Sunday morning. They asked me to arrive early to fill out papers. No problem. I drove my 45 minute drive to arrive there at 9:40. Went in at 9:50 to find out my therapist called in. When scheduling my massage they were abundantly clear that if I called in the morning of, it would cost me $25-$90. The compensation offered to me was a $10 add on for another day. This was my first and last visit. Very disappointed.

I love Massage Envy! Today, my massage therapist was Jacob. He did a great job. Theres a therapist for everyone, sometimes you just need to try them out until you find the right one. My personal favorite is Ro. The front desk staff are courteous and friendly. You dont need to join to get a massage, but I recommend it.

Massage therapist was good. Service in general could use work. For an hour massage your time is actually 50 min. If you pay extra for the foot sugar scrub, that time comes out of your 50 min. Your only going to get 30 min of actual massage. Then when you pay there is a sales pitch that feels like a time share shakedown. Totally kills anything you gained as far as relaxation. In my opinion ill never use another strip mall massage facility again. For that much money you can find a personal masseuse that will get to know you personally and what you need.

Would not recommend this place. My husband and I had massages yesterday, and I am in pain. I asked for medium pressure, but I think it was too hard. My massage was not very relaxing. My husband said his massage wasn’t too bad, but they didn’t focus on his problem areas like he told his therapist. They didn’t focus on mine either. We paid for 60 minute massages and mine was only 50 minutes. This location does not seem to have their stuff together. They also don’t seem to care about what you have filled out in your paperwork. They just give you their generic massage no matter what you have written down.

My boyfriend and I both have memberships, but have never been able to use it past our first massage because every time we call to schedule an appointment they’re booked for every day and time slot we have available. We’ve both got several months worth of massages built up by can’t use them. We’re about to cancel the membership, it’s not worth it at all.

I didnt even get to get my massage!! First I scheduled online where it said I would receive a call. That never happened so I called in to confirm my appointment and was told I didnt have one and they were booked. OK, fine. I scheduled an appointment over the phone. Well, I just left that appointment but I didnt even get my massage. First I was told my therapist, Emily, over slept, then they said I would get a free enhancement, then they said she should be walking in at any minute, then they said she was stuck in the bathroom at home crying and wouldnt be there at all!!! What a joke! I sat there over an hour for this run around! I never leave reviews but I feel like people need to know about this place! Whatever you read about them....BELIEVE IT!!!!

I scheduled a massage because my neck was hurting me and thought it might help. When I got there I filled out a medical history and put on there I had a left shoulder bankart repair. However, when getting my massage the masseuse hurts my shoulder and when I told him I had previously had surgery on that shoulder and to please be careful he seemed surprised, but apologized. When I was done I asked the girl up front if they look at the health history and if not what is the point in filling one out. She got the manager who apologized and offered a heating pad. I explained I just wanted to get home and ice not only my neck now but my shoulder as well. She stated again she was so sorry and she would talk to the masseuse. She also said she would call and check on me later in the day, but she never did which didn’t surprise me. Even though I was hurt during the massage I still paid for it, they never offered any amount off or to comp it. I was in too much pain to argue my point, so I just paid and left. I called my husband crying because I was so mad that I was now in even more pain than when I got there. I won’t go back.

This was a gift from a dear sister and I had a great experience! I called in to book my appointment and the staff was very friendly and helpful. When I arrived the staff was very welcoming and answered all my questions, as this was my first time getting a professional massage. I had Valerie as my therapist and she was wonderful! She explained everything and answered all my questions. She made it a very relaxing experience and I left feeling like a new person! I actually told her afterwards I think you worked out all my issues! LOL 😂. It was great and Id love to go again in the future.

I was billed for my last month and I havent had a chance to use it. Tried to call to book an appointment but yet nobody answered the phone, store hours for Wednesday just say open until 10pm but does not say what time they actually open! Wow how unprofessional, I am so glad I left this review because it gave me an opportunity to see other reviews that are mostly negative with similar complaints. This was going to be a mothers day gift to my wife, I feel confident it would have been a bad experience! This is by far the worst place I have ever been to in my entire life. I am a mom of two. I have a job, I don’t always have time to get massages. Which is why with my membership I acquired 11, paid for them all. $605 taken from my account no problem. But when I cancelled the membership because I felt that I had enough massages and don’t have time to always go they apparently give you only 60 days to have them all done. Which is something my schedule does not allow. I’ve reached out to corporate, who was supposed to get back to me after talking to the owner. Since they are franchise owned. But it’s been a week and I’ve got nothing. I told the them I had a new number and email so if they’re sending it to the wrong stuff that’s on them. Again I am out $605!!! Thanks massage envy in Tyler. I feel so relaxed after all of this!!!

The massages are okay but the customer service from office staff is horrible.I was flat out lied to when siging up for a membership (partly my fault for trusting the front desk girls) when I was told I could cancel whenever most of the time which was a lie. Then when I lost my job and needed to get an extension, it was nothing but a hassle. I didnt get the extension paper in and allow 10 days for processing by their office staff so I was charged when the hold was supposed to be in effect. Now I have 60 days to use 12 massages and can only gift it to one person once a month. Honestly this company has so many hidden rules that will screw you over and NO customer service! These relaxing massages are really only helping relax from the stress doing business with this company has caused.

I went and got a massage from massage envy about three months ago. I saw amber and she gave me a really good massage both times I got to see her then her schedule changed and I wasn’t able to see her anymore. The next time I went in there I saw some other lady and that was the worst massage I have ever had. It felt like she was trying to hurt me worse than I already was hurting. I tried to reschedule after that but the masseuse kept canceling on me after three cancels I said to heck with it. I regret signing a one year deal with massage envy and would never do it again.

I was gifted a session from my daughter. I was so excited. It had been years and I really needed one badly. However it was by far the worst experience in my life! I told her medium pressure but on the lighter side. I had to tell her several times it was hurting!! I got very little sleep last night and I feel like a truck ran over me this morning!! My toes even hurt and burned most of the night. I should have said something while I was there but I hate complaining and thought I would be fine. I felt fine when I walked in but had to use my cane when I walked out! On top of that she talked 45 mins of the hour !! I know all about her family. And her career. Great environment, my masseuse was excellent and worked the full hour. The skill level was better than other hair salons/spas Ive tried in Tyler. The one thing I could have lived without is the marketing manager (assuming) spending 10 minutes going over questionnaire and looking for add ons. Such as different oils, and the manager point blank asked me why I wouldnt sign up for the monthly subscription. Other than that I enjoyed my experience, Im hoping that as time passes they wont be so aggressive in sales. People are looking to be taken care of and leaving less stressed.

Worst experience ever!!! I bought a years worth of massages for my wife at Christmas. She has a busy schedule and can’t always make it. I paid for them all in advance and asked if they would expire and they said no. They failed to mention they don’t expire as long as you keep making monthly payments to keep them active. Total rip off!!!They care nothing for their customers and only want to get your credit card so they can keep charging you forever. I explained to the manager I felt ripped off and wanted to talk to the owner. She was extremely rude, continually talked over me and just tried to convince me that I was wrong. I will never set foot in a Massage Envy ever again. Their business model is a rip off! I will still accept a phone call from the owner, but from what I was told he is too busy for an upset customer. I paid for a service and would like to receive what I paid for! That’s it! Or give me my money back for the unused portion!

Let me start off saying that the massage therapist here are great however we had an encounter today. Got a call yesterday to confirm my appt today at 230 i said yes we will be there. Well today at 211 i got a phone call saying we have missed our appointment, I said no maam our appointment is at 230 and we are like 10 mins from yall. She said ok well there must have been a miss communication so can I reschedule your appointment and give you an extra 30 mins for the incovince. Great I rescheduled it for next Monday. Then 10 mins later one of the managers called me and said we missed our appointment and that we will be charged for it. Explained that I just talked to someone about it and she didnt care she was charging us anyways for today. My husband took the phone to find out what was going on then the manager lady hung up. We get to massage envy and we still had time left on our massage but they wouldnt let us use it. I hope they fix this because if they dont i will not be back more any of my family members. If you messed you as a company you should take responsibility for it

Absolutely poor service...if you plan on going here to get a back massage youd probably be better off staying home and doing it yourself...I scheduled a birthday present for my wife here at 11 on her birthday as a surprise they called a day in advance to confirm there appointment with her which totally ruined the surprise even the notes state it was a surprise then they took it upon themselves to change her appointment to 1130 which wont work with my scheduled day for my wifes birthday then when I called to complain the girl said well I didnt schedule it or make the call !!!Lol excuses !!!never again and I will highly recommend anyone asking about a massage parlor to take there buisness elsewhere...no wonder you only have 3 stars out of 20 reviews...lol

I am a member here since Feb this year. I love my therapist. She gives the pressure i want and it is hard to find right therapist. But they can use some improvement for the business. First, if you get 90 mins massage, make sure to time. I always get 90 mins and first couple time was fairly close but 3 sessions after first two were not 90 mins. I was escorted to room at 900 therapist came in 915 then she finished it 1015 yet i was charged for 90 mins. So if you get 90mins session, make sure you time. Another thing they can be improve is their management. Since i am a member of this place, they called twice 30 mins before my appointment time and cancelled on me. Then, one time, i showed up for my appointment and my therapist failed to show up on time so they replaced with someone else. I tried to understand circumstances and went alone without complaining. Today, i had to cancel my appointment and they told me they will charge me 50% due to policy. I am not complaining about the policy but it seems unfair when it is ok for store failed to follow their own policy yet penalized customer.
