Negative 50 honestly they have cnas that are extremely mean to your loved ones. They will force them and manhandle them because they are under staffed. And when you call to find out what is going on with your loved one the will tell you flat out that they have been understaffed. They had a case manager by the name on Tonya who flat out lied to family about legal paperwork being filled and processed. And the other case mangers dont have enough respect to call you back. And if they do call you back you will never get a follow up call. My husband got phenomena twice and contracted covid 19 from the staff that works there. They let him go to far before they got him help from Northwest Medical Hospital. Sadly my husband died this morning from covid 19 and phenomena complications I dont know the what ifs here if he would have come out ok from this or not only God knows that bit I do know that if he would have gotten help sooner rather then later maybe just maybe the outcome would have been different. I beg you all if you have to place your family member somewhere dont do it here this is the worst place ever. My husband will never see his 50th birthday next month.he.wont she his grandson grow up or meet his.grand daughter in December of this year. And my.family is left with a broken heart and to many questions left unanswered.

Our relative was in this place, Would give them a Zero as rating, but that was not an option. They claim to be a rehab, but little to no rehab was being done with our loved one, after he suffered a major stroke. They told us he was not going to get any better, he had simply plateaued. Before being admitted to Casas Adobes he had been at St. Marys where he was making progress, but after going to Casas Adobes with little PT or speech therapy he started to regress. During our loved ones time at this facility He stated he was ignored when he called for help verbally and had call light ignored as well, all the time. He would have to pee the bed, because no one would answer his call light and take him to the bathroom. He fell four times while trying to get to the bathroom on his own, and had to be picked up from the floor. We found out later from a new nurse, none of the previous falls had been documented in the chart, so she was unaware he had fallen before. Only once were we even notified he fell, and that was the nurse who called to say he needed an xray. The only reason they called us, we assume was because he had to get a xray. During the first week of his admission, because of covid and a required 2 week quarenteen no visitors were allowed, so we video chatted him, he stated he had not been bathed!!! this was 5 days after been admitted. We asked him if they changed his clothing, because we saw he was wearing the same clothes he left the hospital in, before being transferred to casa adobes, he stated he had been in the same clothes since he got there. Discusting that someone would be treated like this. The nurses never answer the phone, and when messages were left for director of nurses and administrator, they never called us back, ever!!! Nursing staff and nursing assistants lacked compassion and empathy towards our loved one and were not kind to him during his stay. Please think hard and read all reviews before making your decision to put your loved one in this place. And if you do have concerns regarding the treatment or care of your loved ones in any nursing home there is an agency that can help. The Arizona office of Ombudsman. They have a hotline that you can call with your concerns ,you can find their number online. We got our relative out and they are doing great now. He will never go back there again ever!!!

Absolutely terrible facility. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. My Dad passed away in their care. They did not call for help until six hours after he began having respiratory problems. The nurse was rude and vague about the details when I called back to ask more questions immediately after he taken by ambulance to the ER. My Dad was calling my mother at home to ask her for help to get out of bed. We are heartbroken. Their communication is awful. Almost impossible to get ahold of anyone. They will send you around in a never ending voicemail loop. If you get voicemail, call back and ask them to page whoever you need to speak with. The office staff is terrible and makes excuses for not returning your calls. Not being able to visit in person at this time complicates matters because they can mistreat patients much easier without family around. There was only one good nurse named Melissa who I believe treated my Dad well but after requesting all his medical records from them, I see that she was only able to care for him minimally. I will find out what happened since my Dads death certificate shows he did not die due to any health problems he had. It was from SEVERE NEGLECT! I dont know how these people sleep at night knowing they are horribly mistreating helpless elderly people. If your loved one passed away or was mistreated in this facility, take the necessary steps to report them to the state to get them investigated. I wish I could give this awful facility zero stars and my hope is to see them shut down.

My father passed away in this place. We were told by one of the facility social workers that they had called to tell the family that my father had the virus which they never did. I wish that I could give this facility negative stars. This place only wants your loved ones money and could care less about them. Patty is an absolute bully and should immediately be fired. From telling my family that we don’t come enough (there’s at least 1-2 of us there every day) to blocking paperwork allowing us to transfer my grandfather. Paperwork is constantly lost and all questions about care are deflected. You want your loved one showered and shaved? Better do it yourself because they don’t care. Want them out of bed for the day? Better do it yourself because they’ll leave them in bed all day allowing them to soil themselves. My grandfather had a catheter and pulled it out, they just cleaned him up and allowed an infection to form. These people only care about money and will lie to your face while insulting your whole family. They do not offer one on one care but will say they do. They take forever to respond to a call button and are visibly upset about being “inconvenienced”. My family has expressed concerns regarding the level of care and have just been told they don’t know what they are talking about. Have power of attorney of your loved one? DOESN’T MATTER HERE. They refuse to acknowledge the forms making this difficult process even harder and more stressful. 10/10 Do not recommend and if your loved one is here may God have mercy on them because the staff won’t. As for the responses on the other reviews I will NOT be contacting “William” (who is this person?) Maybe this facility should address concerns as they arise in person instead of asking them to contact a fictional person.EDIT: Why would I go in to voice my concerns after this facility continuously has told me that they don’t matter? You guys messed up transport as well as medication and no one cared before so why do you now? Because I wrote a review? DO BETTER.

This review is specifically for Steven C. (blond hair) and Kayla C. the CNA. He was the only person that will come off of another Hall to help me come hell or high water he comes and helps me. He is the best staff member that I have seen here yet. He make sure that his job is done adequately and above and beyond what his expectorations are for his job. He does what he has to do for the patient, like myself. He make sure that we are safe, we are in our bed, or in our chairs, or on our walk safely and are transported to where we need to be in a safe and timely manner. Steven is very positive and always has a smile on his face when doing his job. I really think that he enjoys his job a lot and he deserves to be paid more than what he is getting paid whatever that is. Thank you very much for everything that you have done for me Steven.

My friend had lots of drainage and the nurse who changed her dressing never made her feel like she was an inconvenience, and always came in smiling.Hopefully we never have to go back but her experience wasn’t completely horrible. I would definitely recommend this facility for wound care if nothing else. Their wound nurse was one of the most amazing people we dealt with while there she always went above and beyond with my family member and by what I seen all of her patients. STRONG CAUTION AGAINST SUPPORTING THIS FACILITY! Although there may have been a few positive highlights, the majority of the experience that my family had with Casas Adobes Post Acute Rehabilitation (Skilled Nursing Facility) was absolutely AWFUL! To be clear, my mother was discharged from the hospital to this facility during COVID, therefore I understand the need for no visitors. However, with that being the case, one would think that the communication between the staff and the patient’s families would be of the utmost priority, which it most certainly was NOT. Especially considering the fact that the patient has communication issues due to previous strokes and has a diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment – that makes it even more important to COMMUNICATE WITH THE FAMILY! In addition to the communication being a major issue, my 90 lb. mother fell THREE TIMES while in the care of this facility…even though she was marked as a fall risk in the hospital. I still do not understand how that can happen! Furthermore, she lost her partial one-tooth denture during the first week of her stay. After trying to figure out what happened or how they could replace it, I was basically told that there was nothing they could do. Coupled with the utter lack of communication, the processes of rehabilitation, therapy, discharge, and transfer to an assisted living facility were not broken down or explained to our family at all. We were consistently given the runaround, calls and emails were not returned, and the process was made a lot more stressful than I believe it needed to be. In addition, one family member needed to provide documentation to his employer in order for his leave time to be approved for helping to handle my mother’s affairs. The staff at Casas Adobes led us to believe that it would be no problem to have that filled out; yet after having the paperwork for TWO WEEKS, it was returned to us incomplete, causing our family member to be penalized. If I have learned anything while advocating for my mother, it is that I wish there had been more reviews like this when I was researching facilities for her. My family and I chose Casas Adobes from the short list of rehab centers the hospital provided us with, because it seemed as though they would be able to meet my mother’s needs and the public generally had positive experiences to report. After digging a little deeper, I can see that many positive reviews for this facility are over 3 years old. Clearly the quality has gone downhill! Following my first-hand experience at this facility, I must say that I would not recommend that anyone send his or her loved ones here. There are a few great workers here (mainly the two ladies at the front desk who had to put up with my incessant calling to try to get my questions answered), but the competence of the facility as a whole was completely unacceptable. I would not wish this added stress upon anyone, especially during a time when most people navigating this territory are already struggling to deal with the illness of a family member or loved one. I would strongly advise that you research other skilled nursing facilities!

A friend of mine referred me to Casas Adobes, and everyone here knows your name and they’ve been very helpful. Sometimes the food was inconsistent, there was one day where the food was really salty, and I got kinda tired of the squash. Otherwise, the food was good. I’d like to praise the therapy team for all their help. The times you want to give up, the therapy team pushes you to keep going. I honest to goodness did not think I was going to walk again. I had no control over my left leg at all, and now I am able to walk out of here.

In the beginning things were not perfect but they were a place where the environment was friendly and issues eventually got addressed this was far better than any other place I had attended previously. Unfortunately, I had to return a second time due to circumstances beyond my control. I returned to a very different facility. I was offered a single room with no roommate and was given that for a week then was moved out a week later. They didnt follow through with keeping me in my single room although its what was promised to me when I returned. I had issues with aides having poor attitudes when asked for assistance. I went to management and I was given the excuse that they are rebuilding and that in time the facility will be amazing.I saw many infraction that if the state would have seem this place would have gotten shut down. I had cnas who would not offer me showers on shower days and come 2 find out the shower sheet that was due 2 be filled out for me in shower day. Annie that is awesome to point the therapy is wonderful at Casas Adobes. If you like it so much there, you can possibly stay if you have long term care insurance and if not just ask your friendly social worker to file an ALTCS application for you and they could keep you there ALTCS pending, this is what they did to help my mother there. I notice you didn’t point out the poor nursing department and with reason. Those poor stressed nursing staff members have such an awful leader; Unfortunately, can’t say the same about some other management members there either and that’s probably why you didn’t mention the poor nursing department. You see, it is of real concern when the nursing director doesn’t lead by example and we’ll just leave it at that. But all in all we loved it there, until we met with the business office manager who was horrible trying to threaten us to collect my mother’s copay.

Patient care suffers because her and her inability to retain good staff, and retaining her clique only closely to help mask her incompetence with her insecurity of her short comings to come to light. Just like other reviewers have mentioned she disregards resident and family concerns and belittles their importanance in a condescending manner. That facility needs a good competent director of nurisng that doesn’t divide the facility and can retain good relations with the community and families as well as employee retention. Otherwise, the executive administrator for that building will continue and will see no prosperity in that building and place their reputation in jeopardy leading to failure.

Later that evening a staff member came into the room asking if she was going to eat. When she told him that she had eaten with her family, he proceeded to throw the dinner in the trash in the bathroom and left it there. Response times to call light was consistently extensive. Staff knowledge of respiratory isolation precautions appeared limited. The nurse threw out splints and pads that were placed by the surgeon and meant to be left in place. At one point my dressings were removed completely and not replaced so the wounds could air out and left undressed for several days. My doctor was quite appalled on my next visit. The wound care here has been very terrible and unreliable.

I am a seasoned licensed professional nurse case manager with many years of experience reviewing skilled nursing facilities. The facility is clean and the food is excellent. However, my mother in law happened to have stayed at that facility. I had several issues and concerns that I brought up to the director of nursing at that facility and she in no way showed concern or seemed interested in providing a resolution or addressing any of my issues; instead, became defensive. Additionally, my brother had a very bad experience with the business office manager there as well. She is very contemptuous and wants to have the last word at all cost even if it means offending us (the customers). She is very demeaning and heartless. Someone like that does not belong in healthcare as it is a business to promote healing and not hostility to include family members of those patients that are there that pay your wages!! She portrays herself as being the administrator of that building.

Experiencing first hand the dynamics of this facility it is crucial to point out several deficiencies within management that either the owner and/or ensign corporate compliance wishes to do nothing about. There is a triad of corruption preexisting and presently occurring in the facility compiled of the director of nursing, the business office manager (who runs them), and the administrator. The administrator seems to have no backbone and like a puppet allows the business office manager to make decisions for him and run the building without input of his own. The director of nurisng which retaliates against anyone who challenges her or makes valid complaints about her. She retaliates against families to medical providers. The business office manager often states that the compliance department members are her friends and will do nothing to her if and when complaints are filed against her or “them.” This seems to be accurate since nothing is ever done or addressed when complaints have been filed. During meetings, the business office manager furthers her intimadation tactics by verbally presenting her knowledge of confidential filed complaints through ensign compliance against her in order to support her statements of her immunity to corrective action.

I have my loved one as a patient in the this facility. The director of nurisng at this facility dismisses patient and family concerns and complaints questioning families and patients in such manner to deflect the importance of issues despite missing documentation to support that care has been rendered. Issues are sweeped under the rug often. I have spoken to different family members who have patients there and they have the same issue with her. We families and patients do observe and listen. Maybe if she would apply herself to do her job, instead of treating her place of employment as a social club and to support her chain smoking habit with her buddies there on company time, the care would improve greatly. Attitude is everything, can you sell your attitude?? Definitely not to me. I don’t think you can overcome that and this is why she should be replaced because she is bad for business and on the wrong seat on the wrong bus. As a director of nurisng she should set an example, and she hasn’t and this is why certain individuals there carry themselves in an unprofessional manner and get away with that behavior and why the facility runs loose. So if anyone at the cooperate level reads this and care about that building, something should be done immediately.

I only took the time to write a review hoping that I could speak out for the nursing staff there and others there as well thereby helping the residents that after all they are the ones affected at the end. I am a concerned former nurse with many years of experience in skilled nursing facilitys. I was employed there and I urge this company to address the issues with the director of nursing there and the circle of unprofessional employees she surrounds herself with. That building has suffered nursing staffing issues and shortages ever since she has been there and are worse than ever. Hint! There is something wrong there! The company is spending tremendous amount of money staffing through agencies when you should replace the nursing director and it will solve a lot of the issues and break up her clique of lazy employees who use up company time on breaks and more breaks like smoking excessively and not working. The director of nurisng neglects to address important issues with staff and residents thereby causing low moral. That director of nursing sweeps issues under the rug or looks the blind eye to protect her clique all the time.

As a pastor, I visit many recovery centers and nursing homes. I do not reccomend this one. The staff seems overwhelmed to the point patients do not receive the best care. I visited one patient today who said her call button was pushed for over an hour waiting to use the restroom. So many lights were on, patients calling our for help, and alarms were sounding. I doubt anyone could enjoy a recovery here, at least not in peace.

My father was at that nurisng home a few months ago. Beautiful place and clean. The food was excellent. However, the chupacabra from the business office made us feel unwelcomed and like she owned the place and we were there at her mercy. Nursing director Petunia never fixed our problems with the care.

My personal name is Carol Haag. I went to this center after receiving a total hip replacement at St Marys which went well but I wasnt ready to function at home even with my spouse present. The first night I had to go to the bathroom (bedside commode) three times. The same person answered my call twice and the last time he came to see if I wanted to go to the bathroom before breakfast The walker I used wasnt stable and I asked him to hold it so it wouldnt wobble when I transferred to the bedside commode. He told me he could not do this. It was up to the physical therapy staff to train and not him. Finally when I wouldnt move until he held it he complied. Each time after going to the bathroom I asked for toilet wipes and hand wipes. He said he couldnt find any. I lay all night soaked in urine and the room stunk ar least where I was close. I asked the aide that came next to give someone I could complain to. She said that was her. I explained what had occurred. She said men shouldnt be aides and did a political commentary. I said I dont want to make a social statement. I just want to be physically clean. She left and said, I put wipes outside your room but they cannot be placed in your room. Hours later the occupational therapist finally gave me some wipes. I left against medical advice on Fri 12/22 and my leaving couldnt have come soon enough.
