Nikki Perril is my primary (she’s a Nurse Practitioner— they’re my favorite type of provider) and has been since I moved to town. She’s awesome. She takes the time to listen, she thinks outside of the box, she has a great mixture of traditional western medicine and functional medicine. She takes time to research things that she’s not an expert in (that’s how you become the expert, right?). She’s kind, educated, passionate, funny, intelligent and level-headed. If you’ve ever been hesitant about seeing a NP over an MD, DON’T be. They’re awesome. Nurses (and Nurse Practitioners) have a different way about them compared to doctors. I can’t explain it. You just know it when you feel it. Not saying one is better than the other. It’s just my preference 💜.

I see Nikki Perill, NP and she is wonderful. The front desk ladies, the medical assistants and her nurse are very friendly and caring. She is very accommodating and she goes above and beyond for her patients. I highly recommend this practice.

Ive been to Desert Bloom Family Practice for a few years now. My schedule changes all the time. I always get in and out quickly. As long as the doors open, Ill always go back. Thanks Amy.

Biggest joke there ever is Im neither part of any them any more and theyare still calling me . They are so bad there medical tesm is awful and yet they still calling me try set appointments I already have another doctor a real doctor

Front office staff failed to send in clinical notes and referral for emergent CT scan. Called placed to office staff member Francis who stated she would personally fax over study request. Failed again.Follow up:Call placed to my medical insurance to verify all mistakes made by front office staff. Per Cigna It seems they are having multiple issues on following proper procedure on how to forward critical study requests.The nurse practitioner i see for all medical care is fantastic and i would highly recommend her, but there are serious issues with how the front office is ran.

Absolute worst practice in Tucson. Since Dr. Keane left the service has gone from patient first to business first... Expect incredibly long wait times and short/impersonal visits from the NP. Theres good reason for the below three star review... save yourself the time and anguish by looking elsewhere.

I have read other reviews and I am very confused by some of the negative comments. My experience has always been great here. I see Nikki for some medication management issues and she is TERRIFIC, listening to my concerns and carefully evaluating my needs and options available for my care. Nikki is not warm and fuzzy - she is evaluative and serious, thinking and behaving as a medical professional to assure I get the best care. I have rarely received this kind of time and attention from any of medical person I have seen. If you want help and want to work in partnership with a well-informed medical professional, this is a great place for high quality care.

I moved here from another state and originally saw Dr. Keane and I liked him because he was through. Well he left and no other physicians are in the office so you get a NP. I just feel like I am wasting their time and my visits are very short and you get rushed out. They bill on the high end for a office visit but Medicare rule states to bill for a high degree office visit it should last so many minutes. They just use your old diagnosis to make it so the insurance pays more. Now they have been bought out by another huge medical company and I used to always be charged $166 my last visit was $290 and all I went for was to get some prescriptions which I was in the office 3 days before that and told they could not address 2 things at once. I have NEVER. Im used to Doctors who listen and spend time with you and are concerned.. I am just not happy and since Im disabled I need someone who acts like they care. Even though the money to pay for the office visits will not be passed on to me I feel they are upcoding. I worked in the billing/collections at 2 hospitals and 3 physicians offices so I do know what Im talking about.

Do yourself a favor and find a different primary care provider. When asked to run a test that they have the ability to run, they wouldnt do it even though there was reason for them to do so. This test was not requested on a whim or for no reason, which they were aware of per my history reflected in my chart. Instead, they used Google to find self help cures at home, on an assumption. Running said test would have provided a definitive answer on how to treat me going forward. There was no need to make an assumption in this case. When Amy called me to address my complaint, she kept stating that I was a long time patient and they would hate to lose me which proves that they have a lack of care when it comes to their patients. I say this because had she paid better attention to the chart she was reading, she would have seen that I have only been a patient of theirs since March or April of this year (2018). Since being treated by their office, I have only been left with more questions than answers. Luckily I have found better and more personable care elsewhere & will never return to Desert Bloom Family Practice.

I strongly disagree with many of these posts. Amy was my PCP for the past 7 years. She came recommended by a friend and didnt disappoint. She actually remembers you as an individual and past problems even after not seeing her for a while. The staff had always been friendly and willing to answer any questions.When I changed insurance companies at the first of the year, I was dismayed to find out shes no longer in my network. I hope to find another medical provider that cares as much as Amy and the whole staff at Desert Bloom.

Talking with Dr Keane is like talking to a caring, down-to-Earth human being. He listens and has tremendous empathy. He actually answers questions you ask in a clear and sincere manner. Its the kind of doctor Ive always wanted but didnt think existed because other doctors just werent it. Anyone that asks or needs a good doctor, one with an Internal Medicine, holistic perspective - they get Dr James Keanes name.

Front staff is awesome but the doctor and nurse practitioner don’t take your words into account and they decide what you need for you your opinion is not valid here... worst medical experience of my life. Wish I could give less than a star... DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU NEED HELP

I thought that this place was good .but came in for being sick and almost an hour later still have not been seen. The nurses are if no help. I think its time to find someone who understands my time is valuable too. I would get charged for being late but they wont take any money off very dissappointed

They are trans-friendly, though they wont prescribe testosterone. They use chosen names better than any other place Ive ever been, and Im treated with utmost respect. They take my chronic illnesses seriously, and dont accuse me of faking or exaggerating like every other person Ive ever been to has. theyre happy to sit down and work with you to do whatever they can to help.I highly recommend them.

I have been attending this practice for years. The doctors and nurses practiciners are great but since they remodel the policies have changed. The rates have gone up, it no longer about the well being and health of their patients but adding more money to their pockets. The same request that I have been making for years now require cant be unless I give them.more money. Time to find a new doctor.

First Dr I was there with would always check Google on her phone for every question I would ask. So decided to see Amy which the one Dr put me on hydrocodone (for the severe pain I was and still am having) was given 15 pills which lasted me 5 months went in to see Amy and asked for 15 more since they did help and I dont use them on a daily basis, she treated me like a junkie for them even though they put me on them in the first place and I thought 15 pills for 5 months was a good thing, its not like I came a week later asking for them even when I never heard of them before at the time they put me on them. So I stopped going because I did not appreciate how I was being treated as a junkie and the fact the other Dr would use her phone to ask Google every medical question I was asking to help me understand my diagnosis. Also, when the receptionist called and try to charge me for my visits with her she was very rude with me when I said its a high price for a Dr just using Google the whole time I saw her, and then she yelled at me over the phone. I had my best friend with me for every visit and witness how I was treated. I havent been there since then.

Frankly, dont even deserve a star. Been a patient there the last few years, last week, really needed to see someone, told earliest I could get an appt was a week later midday. In desperation, I took it. When I needed to reschedule, told I was being charged a $25 fee. Never going back. Very stressful last week, not to be able to see someone, and now, penalizing me, because of my work schedule. Never going back, transferring all my records elsewhere. Really a bad thing, when you need help and they have no openings.

Amy is great! She answered all my questions, clearly, and not rushed through. We discussed diet, exercise and meds to improve my quality of life and stay healthy!

I love Glenda! Shes awesome. She listens, shes attentive and she really cares about me. I highly recommend this office.

Awesome staff and Dr. Keane is the most compassionate, professional, friendly and best doctor you can ever find. Facility does their own blood work, nurse practitioner to do female exams , also provides alergy in-house care everybodys nice friendly and helpful. Marilyn, the office manager helped me out a very bad situation to get established with Desert Bloom Family Practice. I relocated to Phoenix and its been a nightmare my insurance is a concern but I may travel back to Tucson to my former primary care physician Dr. Keane & have to self pay.Dr. Keane & Desert Bloom Family Practice is the best care you will ever receive they are keepers!

Went to the appointment was asked a bunch of questions to get established as a new patient, went in with a specific problem I wanted to have addressed but it was just brushed aside. To add insult to injury I saw theach bill come through and it showedoesnt that I was seen by a physician that I didnt even meet. Way over priced for the 10-15 minutes I was there. Wouldnt recommend or ever go back. Just didnt get the sense that I would ever get to the cause of my problem at this practice. Luckily I found another doctor that worked to help me get a solution.

What a joke.... referred by a friend and went to see Amy for hot flashes!!!! She took blood and found a problem with cholesterol and triglycerides. no carbs for 5weeks and more tests! dropped 11lbs and cholesterol dropped only 5 points and triglyserides went UP so instead of of writing a script to help....more blood tests.... sonogram... ran up $1500.00 in bills and STILL NOTHING!!!!! and nothing for the ORIGIANAL reason i went!!!!!WASTED money!!!! and then the way she wrote the stupid report the insurance company doesnt want to cover ANY OF IT!!!!! what a joke. i am NO better off after 5 visits and tests!!!! and $1500.00 POORER!!!!!! DONT WASTE UR TIME!
