I have been both a patient and visitor at Tamaracso I know the high quality of care this facility canprovide. It is affected by COVID-19 and this staffdoes a difficult job impeded by CDC rules, andthey do so well. The high standard of care andcaring is still there The staff is extremely busywhich sometimes makes it hard for lovingvisitors to aquire needed details of care for thepatient they are visiting. But the staff does thevery best they can and they should be commended and appreciated. This is the thirdtime my husband and I have called on Tamaracfor help and the high quality of care is stillthere! I ran into a nurse, Sebastian, who caresfor me and my husband, and he made me feelat home and welcome-a special caregiver!

This place takes health safety seriously, they asked for my COVID vaccination card and made sure I answered all the health questions before I was allowed to enter to visit a friend (one of their patients). Once inside, the staff was friendly and professional, making sure I got where I needed (once to my friends room and the other to the rehab room). My friend also praised the attention she has been getting from the nursing staff, Sebastian in particular.

My husband and I came on October 12th, 2021. To visit my husbands dad Alex Rosario. We originally had an appointment at 3pm. As the day progressed we were told we had a courtesy visit and now not need an appointment. We were so glad! We made the trip from Naples Florida. We notified our family in Ft. Lauderdale. My husbands mom, sister and her husband arrived. We all took our turns seeing him. The staff from that shift were so kind and courteous. From checking in we were greeted very nicely. We were escorted to the room where our dad was. A gentleman who was a director came greeted us. We asked for an extra chair from the check in person. But he came and brought us a chair. He offered to put the A/C on because it was warm, and offered us some water. He was so nice as well. Sorry but I didnt remember everyones name. Then we had a nurse come in and I asked for help to reposition our dad. They came and helped him. Then tried to get him to wake up and eat. The dancing nurse was so cute. She got him to wake up rub his hands to get blood flow. He perked up. And soon was eating. The staff were kind and did their job very well while we were there and we had a good experience. Thank you all again.

Whatever you do don’t send your love ones here. My boyfriend’s mom was here for less than 3 weeks and her health quickly declined after that. She went here bc she became completely immobile and needed to learn to be able to move again. She said that they would leave her by herself in her room for hours on end and that the staff were rude to her at times. Also the food was bad. The day she left they took her straight to the ER to be treated for pneumonia. So much other things that went wrong here but too much to write down. Just be careful if you don’t have any other choice for care for your love ones bc you may regret it in the end.

My longtime friend was taken to this facility from the hospital for rehab and care he had stroke and was wheel chair bond, we had hoped the rehab would help him to get back to being able to take some steps with help so he could return home. We had to place him in the long to care of the facility where he received the worse care ever because of COVID we could only visit with an appointment and only 20 minutes, he complained that they were treating him very bad and told him they thought he was faking his pain When we talked to the head nurse she denied what he told us. Well our friend passed away this morning.. The reason he was sent to the hospital because they said he couldnt eat. We he got to the emergency room they said he extremely dehydrated, and had a sever bladder and urinary infection, his urine was brown, that doesnt happen over night by the way he had a catheter that need to be emptied every day, you would think the aid and nurses would recognize that there was a problem. Needless to say if he had had the proper treatment he would still be with us today. We wish we had never taken him there and hope no one else has to experience this with their love one. I give this facility aa minus not what appears as a 2.5

It’s pains me to even spend a minute writing a review of this place because I’m so over it. My aunt had to go to Tamarac Rehab because it was the only once covered by her insurance. They were so nice on the phone and the first few days - we thought the terrible reviews must be wrong. Well, the reviews are accurate. Since we moved my aunt out of there she’s thriving. She was confined to her bed. Not cared for. Donna’s voicemail was full everyday. So we had trouble finding out any updates on my aunts condition. They messed up her medical test scheduling, her transport and completely ignored us. Avoid if you can - no rehab is happening over there. 0 stars.

If I could give this facility a ZERO star review I would. My grandmother was placed here after she fell and fractured her leg. She was mandated to stay there for two weeks because of Covid-19 and quarantine, which is understandable; however, they made her cancel her appointment to see her doctor so she could be released because they never received a referral. THEY HAD TWO WEEKS to get that taken care of! The doctor had called my mom (my grandmothers daughter, whom she lives with) and told her that the rehab facility is the one whos supposed to write the referral for the doctor! My mom called the rehab center and told them what the doctor had said, the lady on the phone Verona was so rude and had no idea what she was even doing. She yelled at my mom, thinking it was my grandmother whos in the facility who was on the phone with them and then told her Im coming to your room right now! and hung up!!! Natalee called my mom the morning of my grandmothers appointment and told her that an escort needs to be there at 8am to go with her to her appointment. I arrive and speak to Natalee in person letting her know I was my grandmothers escort and she tells me they dont have a referral and my grandmother cant see the doctor. I told her that my mother spoke to her on the phone this morning and she couldnt disclose that information to my mother? How is that we can make sure my grandmother sees her doctor but these people had TWO WEEKS to get her in with the doctor and couldnt do just that.AS IF this place couldnt be worse, the nurses have my grandmother in a diaper because when she has to use the restroom they wont come in when she rings the bell to help her (shes supposed to be walking to the restroom with them, its part of her physical therapy) for a whole HOUR! So she sits in a dirty diaper for one to two hours! My grandmother has also lost a significant amount of weight because the food there is DISGUSTING. Seriously this is elderly abuse!! PLEASE DO NOT LET YOUR LOVED ONES GET SENT THERE!!!!! We are calling my grandmothers insurance and getting her out of the ASAP, Im convinced they made her doctors appointment get cancelled so they can keep collecting money from her insurance. SHAME ON THIS FACILITY! ABSOLUTELY DIGUSTING! We will have the news there today as well, everyone deserves to know how disgraceful this place is! No ones loved one should be treated like this, absolutely traumatic experience for my grandmother!

I would recommend this facility to anyone who wants to get recover and get back to your life this is a place to be.

This is very hard to write. On 12/31/20, I sat with my 69 year old stepdad in the Coral Springs hospital for 4 hours awaiting his transport to Tamarac Health & Rehab. During that time, we talked and slept and generally spent time. He was alert, awake and in fair condition.4 hours later, transport had not showed and I had to leave due to limited visiting hours. I called hourly and, best I can tell, he was moved very late at night.I’d been advised that he would have a 14 day quarantine before I could see him again. I visited with him by video a few times while waiting and was concerned that he seemed worse.I began a 10-12 hour a day, every day, struggle to coordinate his benefits for his care. A process I was later told that Tamarac Rehab should have been coordinating all along.Getting information and updates was a struggle. Phones rang endlessly without answer, updates were brief and uninformative. I counted the days to be able to visit in person.I received a few phone calls from Tamarac Rehab during this time. One to tell me he’d been found on the floor (he was bedridden...), another to tell me one of his caregivers tested positive for Covid, then finally, on 1/14/21, one to tell me to coordinate Hospice care. I was connected to a Hospice worker and met her at the facility at 1 pm on 1/14/20.I spent 3 hours in the parking lot, shouting over a lawn care service, trying to understand what was being communicated to me by a hospice worker because I was not permitted inside or on their patio. I pleaded to see my stepdad and was denied because (1) he had hours left on his quarantine (despite 5 negative Covid tests) and (2) he wasn’t “actively dying”. I was told to “call tomorrow”.The man who loved & raised me was gone only a couple hours later. I doubt I will ever get over the shock, anger and pain or the very perfunctory call telling me he’d “expired” and asking me what to do with his body. I had to scramble to even understand what I should do next as they just told me he needed to be “picked up”.My experience was that care was minimal, at best, communication was impossible, standards of patient-family coordination were non-existent and I wonder if I could have had a different outcome elsewhere. I’m not remotely confident that he was cared for here at all, and based on other reviews, I’m not alone. At no point was I able to speak to a doctor and reaching nurses was an epic challenge more often than not. During one video visit, I remarked that he appeared to be in pain and unable to communicate and they only shouted at him asking if he was in pain, but when he couldn’t answer them, it was shrugged off.I can’t bring myself yet to wonder what his own experience was like.Simply put, I do not recommend at all under any circumstances.

This facility is pretty decent and the staff is friendly. My mom is having a good time at the facility and enjoys the recreation and activities they provide. I would like to thank RoseMarie, Fay, and Marsha as they are very helpful, caring, and diligent with taking care of my mom and I appreciate their hard work. I give this facility four stars since the menu for the patients is not that great. Nutrition is essential for proper nourishment and overall health. Great place for family members.

The Tamarac Rehabilitation Center is number 19 in Floridas COVID-19 Isolation Centers, the newly designated facilities for patients well enough to leave the hospital, but not yet be back among neighbors at elder care.Mind blown, said Danielle, whose grandfather lives at the Tamarac facility. After spending four-plus months trying to keep COVID out of the building, here they are telling everyone who is healthy and being cared for that they are bringing it into the building.Fearing that her grandfather, and the other residents in Tamarac, would be put at risk, Cohen pushed for more information. The more I pressed to find out who was forcing this and making them bring COVID into the building, the more pushback I got, she said, adding that one person told her, I dont need to get into specifics with you.Clearly there was a shortfall in communications with frightened families who had been told from the get-go that elder care is the focus of protection. The Andrew Weisman, CEO of the Tamarac Rehabilitation Center, told Local 10 News he volunteered, offered a wing of his facility as an isolation center.“It’s a perfect architectural layout for us to develop a truly isolated unit,” he said. “It’s also about the hospitals that are really having problems with a surge in demand and the availability of beds. That’s really the crisis.

If I could less stars I would. They have continually ignored patients including my Mom. The walk right by the room when the patient has rung the bell even to to the toilet. That can go on forever. They ignored what we told them and what my Mom was telling them. After 3 months of illness and hospitalization they tried discharging her after only 2 weeks. They said she was at her peak. She was not. They also let an almost gone bedsore get to a level 3, 4 is the worse...while telling her and us it was getting better. She developed pneumonia last week while there. They treated her with antibiotics and did an x ray yesterday and said the pneumonia was gone but she still had 5 days of antibiotics left. All the while Mom was having more issues breathing and was super sleepy. She is now in ICU waiting for a surgeon to drain her lung. It is so gull, the fluid is seeping out of the side of her lung. Her hemoglobin is 6.7. Way too low. She will need several blood transfusions. And she is on a bipap machine helping to get rid of the cow buildup. If you care about your loved ones, stay away from there.

Actually this is a zero star, just not an option. My mother has been in this facility for quite a while. She ended up back in the ICU at the hospital. They also let her bed sore getting way worse to where she had to have a procedure on it to clean the dead tissue away. Nurse Debbie also while taking my moms temperature kept pushing the thermometer to where she made my moms mouth bleed. While helping her back in bed one time they hit her leg on the bed frame and caused a big gash in her leg. forgetting to turn her oxygen on. I live out of town but when i was visiting her the staff ignored her and others while I was sitting with her in her room. The patient across the hall was yelling this went on for more than 15 minutes. My sister went and asked her what she needed. She told her she needed to go to the bathroom. We told the front desk and we were told yeah we know. Everyone is busy passing out lunch trays and we will get to her. After more than 30 minutes someone finally came and assisted her. Another day the RN (Nurse Debbie) and one of the staff aides got into a loud verbal altercation in the patients room. Yelling because the aide didnt feel good and being told she should go home but if she was staying then she needed to work. This went on for only a couple minutes but completely unprofessional. If this could happen with family members at the facility it makes one wonder what happens when were not there. I could go on but I will not allow my mother back to this place ever.

I have been here a few days - after being in Westside Regional, then transferred to University Hospital Orthopedic - where I was informed by the nice surgeon that they could not operate on my seriously fractured pelvis. The staff here have been superbly nice to me and while sharing a nice room with a very elderly man I have my own flat screen TV and the very nice Chef Hudson prepares quite acceptable and good food. There is a lovely courtyard where you can smoke if so inclined. All in all - I consider this Rehab facility to be well above average.

My husband was there for 14 days. The treatment was very poor due to the fact that he had to use pull ups. When I went to visit him I found him wet most of the time. His soiled clothes were wet in the closet hamper I was never told. I found out the day before he was coming home. The smell was unbelievable. I addressed his aid and was not satisfied with the response. These are elderly people that should be treated with respect and dignity. This is not the first time it has happen I guess in this place things will never change. Its a very nice place to look at but the staff leaves a lot to be desired they need to be reevaluated. In my opinion they need to fire the aids and hire a new staff. There lazy they dont attend to there patients in a proper manner. The few times that I went there I found myself doing there job half of the time.
