My elderly blind father was flown to this so call hospital. He was restraint and medicated with sedatives without notifying family. He was in ICU 5 days no bathes and no water/food offered. He was put on their daily board as a psycho patient. They could have put a sitter in the room to help him. I called daily was informed his a little agitated, but was never told he was administered sedatives. NO COMMUNICATION with family, even told the nurse my cell number and to call anytime and that Im available. DO NOT GO HERE!!!
They will not turn the ac unit off!! It is so cold in this room my BP will not go down. No one knows how to turn the cold air down!! It is making me sicker!! Turn it off NOW!! Wow had no idea. I hope I get to leave tomorrow or may have to go against medical advice and leave. Its 4am and AC continues to run out of control.
I would not wish this hospital experience on anyone. Many of the doctors that are assigned to floors are AWOL for long periods of time and English language challenged and horribly inefficient. Pick another hospital if you appreciate professional attention to details. The majority of the nursing staff are actually quite good, but suffer from constantly waiting on doctors as well to move forward with care. At this time they are short-staffed which doesnt help either.
On 9/14/2021 went to Boswell Banner Emergency Room to be seen for possible kidney stone at around 1:30 PM. (The hospital on 103rd and Thunderbird.) After being processed into the system I took a seat to wait my turn and at first I spent a few minutes trying to get comfortable in the chair and once I was able to do so I looked around the room. YOUR SECURITY GAURD did not have his mask on. Neither did at least one patient. This is a 55 plus community and this is how you plan on keeping us seniors safe! I left because I DID NOT feel safe. Never again will I walk into that ER, I will pray I never have to go to your hospital. Only by ambulance so I can be seen right away because your ER waiting room is NOT safe! Train your staff or shut your doors!
Dear Banner Boswell,If you have a restrictive visitation program LET PEOPLE KNOW!!!! I left the hospital after a short visit with my dad so his lady could come see him. She arrived and was told she couldn’t see him because he already had his ONE visitor today?!!? Not one person said a word about it and nothing was posted stating this either. So either get on the stick with notifications or be a bit more sensitive (he is 90 and she is close in age).I get that we are still mid pandemic so masking and vaccinations are a must, but if you only allow one visitor per day, TELL EVERYONE! I would have gladly given up my turn so she could see him!
I had surgery today to remove a mass from my bladder. From the pre-op with Susie to Susan the RN who did my prep to Kim who tried to wake me up in recovery and finally to Angie who discharged...many thanks. I had amazing care.
Just picked up my 71 year old Mom from the emergency room. She went in via ambulance. She has dementia and has been refusing medical care. The hospital took some xrays, never called me to follow up regarding who would be caring for her upon discharge. When she asked how to get home they told her to take a cab. They then gave her crutches and failed to see if she was able to use them. My mom can barely hold herself up with a walker. To add to it Jenni the occupational therapist came out ready to fight. Instead of making the situation better Jenni the occupational therapist was horrible person to deal with.
They DROPPED my grandma during a procedure...Would love to leave 0 stars.Save yourself and your loved ones from this horrific place. My grandma has been here a week and its been hell. The staff doesnt care about herTheyre negligent. She decided to go home with hospice care because shes done fighting this fight and they tried to wheel her down to have a port placed with no orders to do so and she had already said she wasnt doing chemo. She has bed sores because they wont move her even though she physically cannot move herself. She soiled herself and they didnt clean it, we, her family had to ask them to clean her.The communication here is terrible.... the CNA kept trying to bring her food even though she had a procedure scheduled to have a tube placed to drain her lungs.AND FINALLY -- TODAY.... she went in for the tube and when they moved her from her bed to the procedure bed they dropped her... FACE FIRST. Broke her nose, messed up her face, shes currently coughing up blood due to the trauma from them dropping her on her face. This place is horrible. They called it a small issue she is lucky to be aliveWe are currently sitting here praying that she survives after this.
It saddens me that I have to give Banner Boswell three stars. I have always received great treatment at the Banner facilities, however this last time I was there the PA forgot to sign my prescription orders. I live about 3 hours away, and while at the pharmacy trying to fill my prescription the pharmacist was transferred all over via phone. I then decided to call myself, and after being transferred multiple of times I spoke with a nurse from the ER department who stated that she would fax over some prescription orders. I asked her if she needed the fax number and she stated “no”! It’s now been 2 weeks and still nothing! No need for the prescription now, since I have an appointment with a specialist. My question to Banner, is I do believe you still push for “Sophia” as being your everyday patient? In this instance you failed to follow up with your patient to make sure that she still received the he best care after leaving the facility. I’m extremely disappointed! I do understand that with COVID going on the medical staff is exhausted, however to forget to sign off on prescription orders and to not fax over new prescription orders is appalling.
*Physically dropped my grandmother on her face*If I could leave zero stars I absolutely would. My grandmother has been in this hospital for 1 week and the negligence started on day one. There was a lot we could push off but today was the final blow that required us to call adult protective services. Not only have they left my grandmother laying in bed for hours without adjusting her to prevent bed sores but they have now physically dropped her on her face.Along with the bedsores, this morning they almost took her to get a procedure she was never meant to have and thank god my family was in the room to stop them or they would have assaulted her. After they were told she would be having a procedure and could not eat, the CNAs continued to try and bring food for her to eat. Later in the afternoon, while transferring her from her bed to another for a CT they rolled her off the bed and onto her face. She now has a broken nose along with lacerations on her face because of this fall. She has been coughing up blood since due to being on blood thinners and from the trauma of them dropping her.The doctor proceeded to come out after this occurred to tell my family we have a minor issue as if dropping a frail 80 year old woman was MINOR.If you love your family, never take them to this incompetent hospital.
Worst care ever, checked in to ED 0930 with bronchitis after 4 times being stabbed for IV for CT Scan finally told that had a little pneumonia just after 10 days of seeing being seen at a Banner Urgent Care was told had to be admitted at 6pm got to rom just before 7 and told after not eating all day I had 5 minutes to order. When I finally received food it had been.left outside door for hour and no beverage at all as ordered nurse said basically to bad so sad and the rest of the night was freezing and taking and sticking for more IV that didnt take also told maybe tomorrow for antibiotics since cant get IV and on and on. Good luck if you go there We wont.
Family member in hospice. Most of us traveled hundreds of miles to spend the last days with our loved one. Now we have to choose which 2 of 5 can spend the last moments with him. Recommend not to use hospice here if you have more than 2 family members. (Note... I have never before left a review for anyplace, much less a bad one).
Little brother had a broken bone and they wouldn’t attend him fast :) because of “priorities “ other patients have symptoms as well “ while the lady was giving so much attitude. My brother crying of pain and they didn’t care about it. Instead STILL made us sit back and wait. We left and Went to Another Hospital where they told us Boswell Was charging Us 250$ when we didn’t even get seen or treated.Do better . Your hospital Sucks . Along with your employers . This is the one hospital I would stay SO FAR AWAY FROM. you Could Be Dying On the Lobby Floor And STILL WOULD MAKE YOU WAIT.
Waited for 3 hours in the ER and was never seen or treated. Apparently they were very busy, but they didnt bother telling me that up front (I could have gone elsewhere). I was concerned that they still had info on me from 15 years ago, so I asked them to delete me from the system before I left. Not only did they not treat me, or respect my privacy wishes, they gave my info to another company I didnt authorize. I started receiving repeated robocalls because they had billed me for tests I did not want. Stay away, there are plenty of better places nearby.
Went to Del Webb, diagnosed with a viral infection and constipation. Everything got better but still have abdominal pain and nauseated. Went here and same diagnosis and refusal for certain imaging for my own health. Physician assistant is unethical and very rude. I’ve been dealing with this for a week and now I still somehow have the same diagnosis? This could be a potential hernia. I will never come here again and I wouldn’t recommend to anyone else. I’ll go to thunderbird instead. Very disappointing...
This is probably one of the worst places I have been. I recently had a stay at the hospital for bacterial stomach infection and I am a single mom and had to be admitted for almost 3 days. I don’t have the luxury of going back to the ER every time I get sick. As I was leaving I had asked the nurse to communicate with the doctor about a medication that I was taking that I go to a clinic for and have now missed a dose for the next day (Sunday ) I told the nurse if I don’t have a dose I’ll get sick and start to throw up again and that was just what I was getting out of the hospital for. I would have appreciated a phone call and feedback the nurse told me he would ask the doctor in order for me to know what my options were. He never called I called later that night explained the same scenario to another nurse. Who again told me the doctor and nurse weren’t there anymore since shift change but told me he would call me back with an answer from another doctor. He also never called . I went all day today feeling even more sick and Banner nurse still didn’t call to check in. I don’t like the fact that because somebody didn’t do their job now the patient has to suffer and it’s just OK and all right and whoops sorry deal with it.Basically how I felt like I was treated at this facility that I have to basically eat the problems and consequences of somebody else’s actions. I work in the medical field and I also used to work for banner I i’ve never been more disappointed in the service and care I was provided. Don’t get me wrong there were a couple nurses however that didn’t go above and beyond and were very nice and respectful but overall the entire process I’m getting there being admitted I would say you either need to have a training course on how to treat people with care and respect or you just need more help because apparently people aren’t doing their jobs efficiently and taking care Patient sufficiently when these things are sliding through the cracks. Nothing should slide through the cracks like this and especially when I’m having increased symptoms and more coming back and to be told to just come back to the ER. I should not have to come back to the ER once I’m discharged I should be given all the resources and tools I’ve asked for and needed when I leave the hospital. Do better banner
Horrible communication between shifts and the food is atrocious. On top of that is completely unsanitary for the fact that the temperature in the rooms is way too hot. I was literally sitting soaking wet in my own sweat.
I went in for surgery yesterday morning and it was a really good experience, considering how anxious and scared I had been the last few weeks, as I had never had a surgery before. My team was AWESOME! Anna, Joe, Jide, Dr Bietel, Dr Malley and my surgeon who set this all up for me, Dr Azadi, were all so wonderful and attentive and really put me at ease. The nurses kept my boyfriend updated and in the loop and they were on top of it tending to me post op. I dont ever want to have a surgery again, but if I do, I would definitely come back to Banner Boswell.
If I could give negative stars I would! This hospital staffs the most rude, uncaring, and most unprofessional employees in the health care field. Wondering if the application has a check box for rude, ignorant, and neglectful and those are the people hired. Do not go here unless you want to be treated bably and still have no answer as to why you are Ill. Just want that insurance$$! How can you take 8 vials of blood, x-rays and about 10 other tests and have no answers. Stay clear of Boswell!!
Experienced some of the most unprofessional medical professionals here.
I went to the ER (great makeover btw) and had to have a emergency surgery. My service was amazing from check in registration, ER, surgery, post op and my stay. My one nurse was the bomb she said that she would make sure my body piercings jewelry would go back in after surgery and I woke up to them back in as if they were never removed, she meant what she said (Its the small things for me that stand out). The nurses and doctors explained everything to me and answered all my questions/concerns but most of all they made me feel comfortable and respected. Thank you all for getting me right and also for all you all are doing in these unprecedented times. Recovering in Thanks!
The scheduled my ablation on atable too small. It isnt like they havent been making back handed comments about my weight. Thier incompetence is almost bad enough to make the VA look good.
Poor discharge procedures. My father was admitted into Boswell for several days of care and apparently discharged to a rehab facility. My father was not sure why he was picked up and brought to a rehab facility. He refused to stay at this rehab facility until I was able to call the Boswell nursing unit he was last admitted to in order to determine what happened. I was able to calm him down and persuade him to stay. After 12 hrs at the rehab facility, he left against medical advice. I and my father are fuming over the lack of communication at Boswell. Not once did a physician, his nurse, or case manager call me to discuss my fathers plan of treatment. My father is elderly, hard of hearing, has selective hearing, and is limited with his english comprehension. I am not sure how this hospital discharged my father without properly making sure he understood everything. The care was great but the communication is horrendous. During this time of COVID, you would think hospitals had a better way of communicating information to the loved ones of the patients they are caring for. Poor, poor, poor discharge coordination and communication!
Was in facility from early January to mid February with covid. Was on covid floor then a step down floor and finally into recovery. 38 days! All nurses were absolutely wonderful! Each was kind, considerate, compassionate and attentive even tho the covid ward was full. All doctors and physicians involved were top notch. I got a little testy with one ( due to the duration) however, this doctor potentially saved my life, he tested me for a blood clot which I had. The food service was second to none and was resturant quality, just superb! I strongly recommend this facility for your health care needs.
My first time at a hospital in AZ. I will have to say from start to finish this hospital was awesome! I was right In and cared for with respect and kindness. I think I will be choosing Banner for all my health needs. Thank you Banner!
This is a hospital? They send you out in three days to die at home !My mom was there , misdiagnosed, sent to Banner Thunderbird, that saved her life .Be aware.
The emergency room staff was kind, friendly and observant. The only reason for the 1 star.Ive witnessed bad care of family members at this hospital before, but I had a cardiac emergency, so we thought it best to go the closest hospital. The care I received at this hospital was the worst patient care ever .With the exception of a few, the nursing staff was rude and virtually non existent. You are subjected to their moods and their compatibility to the nursing assistants. Your care depends on their desire. The atmosphere is you should not bother them.I could see the nursing station from my hospital bed, they were busy on their phones or joking with each other. Multiple occasions, the nursing station was empty. My roommate would turn off her machine alarms because the staff did not respond to them. Multiple occasions we would ask for fresh water that never came. One day , I got up out of my bed, went down the hall and got my own water. On my journey, I passed the nurses station , there were several nurses there, no one said a thing to me as I left the area. I am not sure if they were even aware that a patient was leaving.Due to cardiac situation, I was to have an echocardiogram. I waited for over a day and half for this procedure, it wasnt until we threatened to go to the hospital admin that it was finally performed. The technician was not a happy camper when he came to my room to do the test.As a result of the echocardiogram, an angiogram was scheduled. Again I had to wait another day and a half for this test. I was NPO the day I was to have the procedure, around noon we found out that the test would not be done until late the following day. The nurse said she would see to it that I got something to eat. She did not, so I had my husband bring me a sandwich from Subway. The day of the angiogram, the cardiologist directed the nurse to administer pain medication to me before I was brought down for the procedure. She did not do it.I dont know if it was because I was not given the pain medication or what the reason, but I have never ever been in so much pain during a procedure! Imagine if you will, a hot ice pick going thru your arteries. That is what it felt like. Child birth was less painful that the angiogram. As I was crying due to the pain, the cardiologist told the nurse/technician to give me a pain medication, on her way to give the medication, I heard her say, oops I have to go draw that again! When the procedure was finally over, the cardiologist left the room. The technicians proceeded to bring the procedure to a close. During which they were arguing over who would get tomorrow off.At one point, they all left me completely alone in the room. Nothing was said to me, they just left. In fact, they barely talked to me at all. I thought maybe they forgot that I was there. I was made to feel like I was in the way of them being able to complete their day and go home. (I think I may have been the last of the day.) They finally came back to the room and proceeded to clean and dust mop the floor. Like I really wanted to have dust flying around me while I was trying to recuperate from the torturous procedure I had just gone thru. I was finally wheeled back to my room. The cardiologist said I could go home that day, but apparently that decision is up to the hospitalist. I had to endure one more night in that hospital.I was ready to go the following morning, but it was nearing 11:00 am the hospitalist had not arrived. I asked the nurse to find out where he was. She said she would page him. At 11:45 , I was dressed and ready to go. I wanted out of there so bad! Finally around 12:20 pm a doctor I had never seen before came, looked at me and told me I dont look like I belong in a hospital. I said I dont any more, so please let me go home.I left that horrid place around 12:30 pm. I will never ever let any family members go to that place again. In the event of an emergency, if at all possible, keep on driving to the next hospital.
My husband has been in Banner Boswell for a week. He should have been released yesterday but the case worker can’t find a home health care to come change the wound vac. We should not be charged for a room when they are not letting him out. I guess it is one way to get money. My insurance will be informed when charges are reviewed. Worst experience ever!
One of the few places you can bleed to death in the emergency room and nobody cares. Bring your credit card but dont expect to get treated.
I had to come here with my 2 little ones to get a covid test done on all of us because we are feeling we get there and sat in the waiting room for almost 2 hours possibly spreading covid around while everyone that came in after us was taken back. So if we did have covid the hospital definitely didnt care if we sat in the waiting room infecting other people. Not only that Ive tried calling a few times to find out what my test results are and I cant even get a answer. Even the hospitals in the ghetto are so much better then the way this one is ran.
Went here yesterday got meds for my asthma issues but they came back because things were getting worse and the staff told me oh no you dont have what you say you have it could be just allergies could be thats not what I was wanting to here guesswork I feel I should of had tests ran to see if there was more to what I discovered myself I know my body and what Ive experienced in the past they acted like they didnt care I dont think Ill be coming here anymore
If I could give -1000 stars I would. Neglected and no hygiene care or bathing. Disgusting. Such a disgrace that the care for the elderly helpless folks have to go to such a careless hospital.
I waited in the ER lobby for three hours and during that time I heard numerous conversations that left me flabbergasted. The woman working the admittance desk was rude, combative, and consistently condescending to just about everyone that walked through the doors. Loved ones just trying to figure out what was happening to their partners were met with snarky replies void of any compassion. Sadly, this has been somewhat common place with our experiences across the entire Banner system.
My nurse has the worst bedside manners ever. Yelling across the floor, terribly rude and doesnt appear to care if you are comfortable or not. Wow, I am disappointed in the level of care I am receiving.
I went to the ER and had to have a emergency surgery. Service was amazing from check in, ER, surgery, post op and my stay.Saying thank you isnt enough, these folks did an excellent job! Thank you for all that you do.
I was on the 4th floor for 2 days and the staff was wonderful they checked on me when I needed help.Thank you so much. Mwilson
The overnight staff is good at their jobs but I find their demeanors with each other is very unprofessional and distracting...
If you care at all about your loved one, do not bring them to this hospital. Seriously.
This place is a joke brought my husband in at 4am this morning now it is after 4pm and he hasnt had no food or even water given to him and no answer . Oh we are waiting on the results this is the worst banner hospital I have ever been to and his nurse has only come in once this whole the. Er was better at least they helped us but when they move u to the 6th floor forget it I know I will be calling the main banner office to report the treatment my husband has recives
The worst hospital ever, 2nd time there, and I starved both times, and the food was terrible and interns taking care of me drove me crazy, would never ever go back to that place!
I have not heard from a doctor or social worker in days. My husband needs to go to a skilled nursing facility and no one will return my calls. His nurse never know much about him and he is confused with all the meds he getting. I spoke to the charge nurse and all she does is take your name and number and no one calls. When you ask for someone higher then they put the nurse on the phone. Im not sure of my husbands condition because the nurse tells me I would have to talk to physical therapy, but physical therapy has not called. The nurses cannot answer any questions that I have and the doctors are not including me in his care.
A year ago I had to go to the emergency room because I couldnt walk. My knee was swollen and painful after having an injection in my knee. The emergency doctor was rude & told me to go home and walk on it. Fast forward a week later I had 104 temperature and had to be admitted to the hospital for surgery on my knee. I had an infection that went to sepsis. Its a shame the ER doctor didnt take a blood test, Im sure it would have shown something. I will give the hospital staff, doctors and surgeon 5 stars. They were great.
I had kidney surgery this past week at Banner Boswell Medical Center. The staff was amazing! The nurse (Robyn Barnett) was very kind and knowledgeable. The anesthesiologist did an excellent job! The surgery went well and I experienced minimal pain.If I ever need surgery again I will ask to have it at Boswell !
I am so grateful for Boswell you guys are so awesome thank you for taking good care of me and the facility is very clean and there is not a ton of people in the waiting area you saved me I had Covid pneumonia and you guys took an hour to run all my test and find out what I needed. Very clean and awesome attitudes❤️ Thank you
This place doesnt care about the patient or the family. Long wait times. We sat for 3 hours and never seen a doctor.
I was rushed to the ER they literally saved me, I had internal bleeding I was in ICU and on main floor for a week. I can honestly say every doctor and nurse that took care of me was extremely professional and very nice!!! During covid-19 precaution they were like my second family!!! The hospital is also very clean and the food is good too for hospital food. A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU to DR. MATHEW 🙏🏼 whenever I need to go to the hospital again, this will be the one I pick every time THANK YOU ALL and MAY GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU for all your dedication and loving care!!!
We have been waiting for 4 hours and not a single person has bothered to come and offer any assistance or ask why we are here. The shift just changed and the new nurse came in and right off the bat starts telling all the new patients that there will be a 3-4 hour wait, as to try and influence them into leaving. Brand new wing of the hospital and they literally have 1/10 of the staff. WHAT A JOKE THIS PLACE IS !!!!
Stay in hospital was horrible for my friend. In for 3 days and was never given clean gown, sheets were not changed on a daily basis. No towel, wash cloth or basin for a sponge bath. No toothpaste or toothbrush.
If you have a loved one do not send them to this hospital. The most degrading and horrific experiences for my loved one.
Extremely rude, extremely rascist staff. Do not patronize this place even if you are in dire circumstances find another hospital.
Took elderly family member to the emergency room day after christmas. As we waited in the room where all the testing was done, 3 or 4 different people would walk into our room and barely acknowledge us as they talked amongst each other, not even telling us who they were or what they were doing. The nurse throws her gloves and trash onto the floor for us to step over, not sure why. Dr. Cinta was very caring. The 5th floor observation nurse was fantastic, thankfully. The cafeteria was filthy
I have three major operation at Banner Boswell. Great treatment care, follow up. All operations were successful. Staff from top to bottom were kind, caring and courteous.
This will be the 2nd visit that I have had to wait for routine services. I have never left a comment. So I decided to read other comments, and there are more 1 stars than any others. I blame management You really need to get it together. And get organized. Its all about how much money the president or owners make. (Greedy)
BEWARE! No working system or communication available during COVID in their ER department. Over 3 hours of nonstop trying to get through to anyone to answer any question about my 95 year old grandmother that was admitted many hours ago and still not answer. Its so bad I am heading over to pick up her up because I am certain if their process to get through the phones to get any answer is this poorly organized I cant even imagine the level of care she is receiving. 100% incompetent ER department. DO NOT take your loved one here.UPDATE TO BUSINESS RESPONSE: I will take the time to email you directly but after 5 hours of not having any answer bc the nurses station in the ER would not pick up the phone, we finally found out they helicoptered my 95 year old grandmother elsewhere for brain surgery. Better systems need to be in place. Unacceptable.
Awesome care ❤My nurse JESSICA was incredible & made me feel super comfortable. Literally nobody in the waiting room and got me to a room quickly.
I have care and appreciation for doctors and nurses and all that they do. And for any and all working within the banner series of hospitals, but Boswell is my least favorite. Love the updated ER looks amazing. Care though isnt much of a priority to them I feel. Had my man go in bc he had back pain that has prevented him from going to work for almost 1 week. They state a plan of care but didnt follow through then for fun...pulled him out of work for 10 days so he could get things sorted out. Did x-rays and offered a shot for pain, but never followed through with the shot and told him to use average pain pills for the pain. Sad thing is thats what he normally does and it doesnt work. Thank you for the 4 hrs we wasted and got no where in the end of it all. Feels like a wasted trip. That seems to be the normal anytime I take him there. Docs/PAs need to follow through on their offerings bc its unfair to the patient.
I’ve been here a few times in the past few years for loved ones. They provide great physical therapy, acute care, and other services. The emergency room is a bit outdated but they provide excellent service and the nurses are absolutely amazing. They have a great little gift shop and cafeteria also. The food is pretty good for the patients.
I was there and had surgery 11/2. Last night I spoke with a supervisor supervisor I cannot recall his name. Angel,or Abel something like that. I explained what the hospital was trying to do as far as sending me to an inappropriate place (rehab facility) he explained if I do not agree they can’t make me leave. I need someone one to call me ASAP! I need out of this place now!
My mother was admittedTo the ER. I could not go in with her due to the COVid rules, I have called 3 times and every time I am told to wait for a call from a nurse , she’s on lunch. My mother is confused she’s 79 and can’t explain what is going on. The lady answering the phone just makes a noise like she’s being bothered. This is crazy! Terrible service! I’m praying my mother survives this experience and I will never take her back there!! Awful!
The emergency nurses are rude. They never answer the call lights in a timely manner, and they treat the patients so disrespectful. Next time it’s best to record how they are so rude, so it can go viral for the world to watch.
Transportation sucks!! My hubby was waiting while i watched 7 of the transporters laughing at the front of the hospitol for a good 20 min. I called about a family member and still havent got a call back. Dont go to Boswell
Went to this place like 3-4 years ago when my pointer finger exploded. I was lucky enough that a specialist who does hand surgeries was there.
Checked in at 130 for surgery and its almost 7 and nothing. Very unprofessional doctors. No food or drink, no Iv.
I had foot surgery yesterday, November 17th at the same day surgery center with Dr. Holgado. Everyone that provided my care was wonderful. My nurse in preop, Jason was very kind and funny. He was also very careful while inserting my IV because I am a hard stick. The operating nurse and anesthesiologist were also great, very caring and explained everthing thoroughly to me. Amber was my post op nurse and again was so kind. All of these staff members made my surgery experience easy and with no stress.
Wow. Been trying to get in to see Dr. Datla but after having my medical records sent to them twice (132 pages each time I might add) apparently they still are not able to confirm they have them. I left a message, yet again, today and was promised, by Lyndsey, that the office manager, Natalia and the medical assistant to Dr. Datla, Saadi, would return a call to me today. Unfortunately, didn’t hear from either of them. So sorry to say but this office is pathetic!
Wish i could say i had a great experience here but it was awful especially with my daughter clearly they dont know how to be with children regret taking my baby here ,i appreciate nurses but this one mainly rubbed me the wrong way seems like she came in just to man handle my daughter nurse elaine ,never again will i come here
This hospital treated my grandma like chop liver. She arrived expecting to see her dying mother and instead received the horrible experience that could of been imagined. Not only were the nurses rude and empathetic, but the security guard threw her out without letting her see her mother . That day her mother died and she never got to say goodbye. Along with this I have so many more complaints.
I came back because I had gotten worse and this time was scared for by a gentleman who I have had the pleasure to be treated by him. He listens, has compassion and assured me he will get to the bottom of my issue. Stephanie Meyers should be retrained on compassion, professionalism, also reminded why she became a provider. She should be retrained by the provider that took excellent care of me!! Ive been admitted this time and my nurse Natalie Novack has gone above and beyond her the title of Nurse. Shes compassionate, professional, is always there when I call with a can do - will do attitude. She actually has not become desensitized and is a joy to be treated by her. I hope she gets the greatest appreciation from this company because, she sure is getting it from me and if I could do more, I would. Thank you Natalie Novack for being an asset to Boswell Banner.
Had a horrible experience at Banner Boswell when I went to visit my mother, a patient on the 6th floor. The security guard, who gave me the creeps, had followed me up to the 6th floor. When I decided to leave, he was waiting at the elevator for me. I was very suspicious of his intentions, and decided to take the stairs. This guy proceeded to follow me down the stairs!! Fortunately, he could not keep up with me. Banner should be much more cautious about the type of people they hire.
I was bought here because of a minor stroke. My experience was very favourable and very pleasant. I found employees to be friendly, courteous and professional. I really liked my stay here and my treatment. Thank you for treating me with kindness.
I would give 0 stars if I could! My dad arrived by ambulance with a myriad of problems and SEVERE weightloss. The ER took blood and urine and his blood pressure and said because they were fine they couldnt keep him. RIDICULOUS!!!!!
Thank you to all who had a hand in me getting better and released in a timely manner from Boswell. I went in with pressure in my chest and difficulty breathing. They expedited my service without me feeling rushed. Everyone appeared to really be concerned for my well being. I appreciate there sincere and compassionate care they provided. I spent the night for observation. They made many checks throughout the night and each with dignity and respect. When I was released it didnt feel like I gotta get outta here. I didnt feel rushed either and Steve in transport got me to where I wanted in order to exit the hospital. Prior to release all the doctors and nurses checked on me with true professionalism. For a hospital stay, I enjoyed it considering it was a hospital. If and when its time to visit the hospital again, I will undoubtedly go to Banner Boswell in Sun City. Thank you again Banner Boswell Staff.
During Covid there is no visitation allowed. The nurses told us not to call for updates and we could not get updates from the Dr.
Its obvious to me that this place, other than possibly the medical staff, is not interested in the welfare of their patients or the feelings of their families.A weak 74 year old patient who just had surgery being discharged into 114 degree heat without a wheelchair walking to get her to her transportation which was parked several car lengths away is totally unacceptable!
I went into the ER this morning and came out 2 and a half hours later feeling so much better. Thank you Dr. Tyler and Beverly the nurse for taking care of me!!
My husband has been in and out of this hospital. If his insurance would let me I wouldnt ever take him back. Nurses and doctors are the worst. Long wait time and they never know what is wrong with him. Today we were there again wait 45 minutes to go back. When I told them I would just take him to another hospital I was asked if I want to talk to a supervisor? I said yes when she was called the nurse calling was told the supervisor eas going to lunch and she would talk to me when she got back. There is no concern about patients or family. Dont go there if you can help it.
They kept me there for over 2 hours for blood work. The nurse was rude and nothing got solved.
I recently had a procedure done at Banner Boswell Hospital on Thunderbird Ave. It would be my first visit at this hospital. Days before my procedure, I decided to check the public’s review and how they rated this establishment. I was a bit discouraged to see 2.6 stars. I told myself, I just have to trust my doctor and the medical staff she would be aaaifbed to assist her, most of all I trust God.On the day of my procedure my son dropped me off at the hospital. My curious brain started to see and observe how things are. I forgot which entrance to go in, I went to the emergency entrance, a nice med staff came out, asked me if I was there for surgery. I was in the wrong entrance, she then escorted me to the right entrance. I walked in and was greeted by another nice lady who then directed me to the patient’s registration area. At the hallway I was greeted by another nice and friendly Asian-American lady. She escorted me to the area, went in with me and showed me how to go about in the waiting room.See and observe, Im starting to prove myself wrong. I wanna thank Tammy and Lori patients registration; pre-OP Debbie, OR Carissa and 4 others; anesthesiologist (I cant remember her name); Recovery Susan - woke me up, made me comfortable, and wheeled me to the post-OP room. Wendy was there waiting. Sweet lady, walked me through my discharge papers, medz info, called my ride, and everything else that I need to know about post OP. She wheeled me out to the car too. BTW, I got home and I opened my discharged packet, and found a Thank You card signed by Susan and Wendy, wishing me a well recovery. Beyond that, Susan called today to check on my recovery process. Sweet!!!SEE and OBSERVE: Overall, I am glad to have my procedure done here, and I am convinced not to believe the 2.6 stars ratings they have. I gave them 5 stars. Im encouraged and glad. Banner Boswell hospital, thank you for taking good care of me and for going above and beyond your job. Hearts, GD
Watch out if you go to the hospital They want even their running on necessary test tell you that your getting out one day in keep you 4 days longer They want even their running on necessary test tell you that your getting out one day in keep you 4 days longer The nurses in the staff are rude to The doctors dont have a clue whats going on
Patient went in, his clothes and wallet were taken, and not returned. He has passed away and now we cannot bury him without his social security card, and after 3 days on hold and talking to multiple people, no one will help.
Access to patients and rudeness of front desk staff on weekends is just unacceptable.
This Center has done nothing for my brother who is a Stage 3 lung cancer patient. He was diagnosed February 2019. To date, these quacks have not given him any treatments. They break commitments and are rude. How can this center have as part of is mission the careful treatment of the elderly and not accept Medicare?? Money-grubbing jerks. If I could rate this sham of a hospital at O, I would. Let me here from you. I dare you.
Post surgery outpatient discharged without pain medicine. Sufferer experienced terrible over night shivering from pain post surgery. When I spoke to any of the professionals about alleviating the pain I was told to give him Ibuprofen and Tylenol, neither helped the full body pain and shiver compulsions. Hundreds of thousands of dollars spent so far and this is the treatment plan? Over the counter medicine? I would recommend to any future patient to discuss a pain management plan in detail. Unfortunately We get to go to the ER, wasting more of our time and money.
So my daughter was having covid symptoms since Wednesday, body aches, chills, fever she didnt look her best very weak, so she went to dignity Westgate its close to home. Waited for four hours to be seen, they did her vitals and temp which at the time was 99.3 she asked if she can be tested for covid since she had symptoms they told her depending on her xrays for her lungs, xrays came back okay so she was diagnosed with a sinus infection and sent home! Day 2 her symptoms are getting worse with diarrhea , so Thursday night we sent her to a different hospital Boswell when she got there her heart rate was up and had a mild fever right away they put her on IV & kept her for hours to care for her Boswell did not ignore her covid symptoms and even did a Covid test on her sure enough we get the call Saturday morning she sure was POSITIVE for the Covid thank you Boswell for not ignoring her symptoms.
I have taken my 92 yr old mother here 3 times in the last 2 months. Excellent ED and observation 5 th floor 5 B and 5D. Staff friendly knowledgeable. Caring. Treated my mother like she was there own. Nursing Staff is five star. Hospitalists are awesome. You never want to be in a hospital, but I will never take my mother anywhere else.
My husband was a patient there for 7 days. The staff was amazing. Kind, caring and knowledgeable. Especially his nurse Jordan. She was so kind. Treated my husband with such love. And respected me as his care giver also. Hospital is also very clean.
Emergency room ran smoothly and professionally. Caring, gentle staff. Took time to really communicate with us.Excellent Emergency room experiences, both times we’ve gone there.
If I could give LESS THAN 1 star, I certainly would. Im going to be writing a letter to Peter Fine, Banner Health President & CEO, as well as Debbie Flores, Banner Boswell CEO. After 2 hospital stays within 1 week at Boswell, for my 3rd hospital admission, I refused to return to Boswell & went to Del Webb. The difference was like night & day. I would suggest to anyone to avoid Boswell if at all possible!!!
I had Lower back surgery on 7/25. I was uncertain of their capability having just moved from Chicago to Surprise a few months before. It proved to be an exceptional experience in that everyone I met or dealt with from Pre Op to discharge were the most professional and nicest people possible. 17 days post surgery and I am doing great. Thank you Banner Boswell!
I practiced medicine my entire life. I know medicine, good and bad. And I worked the Watts riots at LA County General! I recently had to take a relative into this hospital for a small stroke and hypertensive crisis. I was APPALLED! I have never seen such a disorganized, nonchalant, inappropriate, dangerous approach to a critically ill patient in my life.I have watched medical care for decades deteriorate to a mere money making scam. But Banner has me thinking the system has reached rock bottom. For instance, in the midst of an epidemic, there was NO attempt to separate infected and medical/surgical patients. Protective measures were essentially non-existent. The staff is arrogant but ineffective. My relative was discharged inappropriately, untreated, as fast as they could print the bill.Anyone who goes to this institution is crazy!
Even though my spouses procedure was successful and nothing abnormal happened. However, this is where it stops. The O.R. staff only let a family member go back for a minute before a patient goes into surgery. Once out of the O.R. staff would not let a spouse back after a four hour procedure. This issue is inexcusable that at least a spouse cannot see their spouse until just about to be release from the hospital. This is the first hospital throughout the country that does this. So a patient has to try to recover from surgery without any family support.
My mother had surgery at Banner Boswell to remove a cancerous mass from her colon. They didnt bother to remove the other tumour in her colon or adjacent lymph nodes. No they just sewed her up and sent her home two days post surgery without even giving her pain meds. I dont know how your hospital gets away with so much negligence.
The emergency staff was more concerned about my previous thirty year billing history than my well being I could here them discussing what should have been protected by the HIPA privacy rules.
My mother was admitted to Boswell on 12/03/18 with a number of health challenges of which she passed away from. However, from the time of admission through her short time in the hospice unit, I have nothing but praise for all the staff involved, especially the CNAs and nurses. Clinical Alignment Specialist, Tammi T., was amazing with her compassion, support and education during a very difficult time. Her ability to relate to family members and offer some comfort and reassurance was invaluable.
I went in For pain in My chest. I Was in that hospital from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and basically had to ask questions because information was not given to me unless I asked. I was given nitroglycerin and baby aspirin just in case I was suffering from a heart attack but after an X-ray it was determined that my heart and lungs were fine. D dimer was a little elevated so they did send me for a CT. Scan to check for blood clots which also was clear. However upon arriving in imaging, the Tech rather then slowly inject the dye in my vein decided to just slam it through which caused pain in my arm. I have had these scans done before and have never had anybody shoot that through the IV so. I think I was out of that Room within 3 to 5 minutes and I dont know how they could get an accurate image being that quick. I dont feel that the die had gone through my system quick enough for him to have me out of there within 5 minutes. The only thing that was quick and thorough in that hospital was when the registration lady came in to tell me that I owed $500 for my visit and ask how I wanted to take care of it!!!I dont feel that I received care and I was told that since it was a geriatric hospital they werent used to seeing somebody whos 47 come through. And when I mentioned the fact that the gentleman next to me behind the curtain was in his eighties and getting more care than I was I was then again told well this it hospital is for old people.I guess they dont care for anybody under 80 therefore I will never go to Boswell hospital again and I will never recommend anybody go there! Upon the follow up with my primary doctor, she asked where my papers/reports were. I gave her what I had in she asked is this all they gave you? Nowhere on the paperwork were the results to any test that I had done and the CT scan wasnt even listed on anything. She is contacting them to get my paperwork and will look into it further. She is what a doctor should be and she has been very thorough in my care. Its just sad that you go to an emergency unit to seek help when you are scared and dont know what is going on and it seemed as though the medical team didnt know what was going on either. I have no confidence in that place whatsoever. I will tell you what I love my grandmother so much and I would never send her there for any type of medical treatment. EVER When I was sent up to observation awaiting results to my test, I was immediately told that I would be discharged because everything looked good. When my nurse left the Room I could hear him tell all the ladies outside that I would be discharged and one of them replied O my God are you serious? I hate when this happens now I have to rush my paperwork to get her out of here. I was appalled. My male nurse was very friendly and compassionate thats all I could say in regard to that place.
Been sitting in the waiting room for over 2 plus hours with bad abdominal pain with literally no one in here, the waiting times are kind of ridiculous
The operator is rude as hell! So inconsiderate when looking for family! They should all be fired!
My experience with this hospital is horrific still after a month no results. They took down my last post gave an email to respond too nothing has been done no one has called to rectify the situation.Property lost and not just a 30.00 pair of earrings 1/3 carrot earrings 2 pair and another pair 3 sets of earrings no one can find.🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
My 79 yr old mother has been in & out of Banner Boswell every month since March 2019. I have to say the medical staff has taken excellent care of her. I appreciate thier staff 100%...
Ill start off with the good. 90% of the employees I interacted with during this stay were as friendly as anyone I deal with on a daily basis. But as friendly as the majority were, no one seemed to listen to a word I said. Friendly only goes so far when I ask for water and the employee smiles, makes a casual joke, says Let me see what I can do... and then walks out not giving me (or the water) a second thought. THAT, in a nutshell, encapsulates the entire stay.I got to the ER about 2:30 or 3:00 AM with severe chest pains. I couldnt catch my breathe. By 4:30 they were fairly certain it wasnt a heart attack and by 7:00 they had pretty much ruled out that it had anything to do with my heart - yet I still lay there waiting for an observation room that I told them I didnt want.By 10:00 AM they had finally transferred me to the observation room I had told everyone and anyone who would listen I didnt want, the cardiologist had already been by and pretty much confirmed that my heart had nothing to do with the pain. By this time the pain was subsiding and I was getting hungry.Around noon they brought a small plastic 1 oz cup with some pills. I had to ask for water to take them and they brought me a small 8 oz styrofoam cup with crushed ice with water in it. Its hard to take pills with crushed ice. That was all I had to drink in the well over 12 hours I was there.By 2:30 or 3:00 I couldnt stand it so I asked the nurse who had come in to check on my room mate if I could order some food. Do you have a diet order? She snapped, assuming I would know what a diet order is. She started looking over the bedside table, I guess to see if there was a diet order there. She noticed the the heart monitor box laying there and barked, Why is that just laying there. I said they took it off when i went down for the cat scan a while ago. And they never put it back on? She almost screamed. I didnt respond. I figured it was obvious they never put it back on, and she was already storming out of the room anyway. Ill check with your nurse to see if you have a diet order she bellowed back as she left. She then went to the nurses station and spent the next 5 or 10 minutes laughing and joking with other employees, (none of whom were my nurse.)20 minutes later my nurse came busting in with a huge grin shouting, GUESS WHAT - THEYRE RELEASING YOU. Im guessing there wasnt a diet order so getting me out STAT was easier than rustling up a $3.00 sandwich. Its not like I was there to be observed or anything anyway.I originally went to this ER because it is the closest to me. My chest hurt, I couldnt breathe and I was scared. I didnt stop to look at reviews. Now I know.A lady came to me in the observation room and had me sign a paper saying my co-pay for the visit was $250 (something). Two days after I was home another lady called and said my co-pay was now $600 (something). I said, What about the paper I signed in the hospital saying it was only $250? She said, That was for the ER only, not the observation room.I didnt want to go to the observation room. The lady who brought that paper to me to sign brought it to me in the observation room and never mentioned it was only for the ER. I was only in the observation room for 4 hours out of more than 12 hours total. I only had 3 or 4 people come in to check on me and one was the lady who wanted the signature. Im not sure what was being observed.
