I am the New Recreation Director at the facility. I started working there in a post Pandemic environment and have been very impressed with the Staff’s commitment to providing excellent medical, rehabilitative and psychosocial care for our residents.

My stay here was beautiful. The workers on the 3rd was exceptional. Compare to other facility they served the best food. The only improvement will be increased staffing if that could be allowed. But the staff worked hard and very caring, the overall facility is beautiful and great service.

Horrible employee communication. Whenever I try to talk to a patient they put me on hold for hours or tell me he is not there when he is.

I was very pleased to have selected St. Camillus Center for my recovery after my surgery. I found the entire staff polite, personable and professional. The administration to nursing, physical rehab, C.N.A.s, the entire staff could not be more on point. Having stayed at St. Camillus has been a tremendous asset to my recovery. Thank you all!

I have been here 4 years. I receive well and everyone seems to like me well. I get along with everyone well.I was here 2 weeks when I was made President of the Resident Council. I find the place acceptable for human living. I find the nurses and C.N.A.s very helpful. I find the administration very rewarding, very dedicated to helping people live here comfortably.Im very proud of St. Camillus Center because of the help they have given me. I have lived in many other health care centers. I find St. Camillus one of the best that Ive ever lived in. Im very proud of the service I get here and the way they treat the residents.

Mother was there and fell out of bed into the floor numerous times. I removed her. Under no circumstance would I recommend this facility. It doesnt deserve one star, but that was given for location - nothing more!

My mother lives here and gets adequet care. The cnas are lovely, caring people. I wish they would put fans in the bathrooms and better ventilate the entire building. Even an automatic air freshener would help. I do hear about cold dinners and long waits for assistance. Perhaps a little under staffed?? If you maintain contact with the staff, you can help be sure your loved one is being taken care of properly.

Think again before choosing St. Camillus in Stamford, CT for your loved one especially with any dementia or confusion! My sister who had on a Wander -guard was sent to a outside MD appt 6/20 without a staff member to be with her all times was dropped off the MD building and somehow ends up at home!!! Now my sister is at home unsupervised as was requested per her doctors at Norwalk Hospital and without presecribed medications!! This was negligence on their part and is not acceptable!!!

I was there for 6 1/2 weeks to rehab from a fractured pelvis, sacrum, and arm. The rehab dept. is totally awesome! I was brought in on a gurney and walked out the door 6 1/2 weeks later! Everyone in the whole place took stock in my recovery from the nurses, aides, staff, rehab dept, and the nuns who made sure I got to mass daily! I was back to work full duty in 4 months! I still visit them to this day and it has been 4 years since the accident.

As a medical professional for most of my working life, I’ve seen the workings of many hospitals and short-term or chronic facilities. Ive worked with other professionals across the spectrum of training and title. But it wasn’t until I became a patient myself some years ago from a traumatic injury that I truly became aware of the healing power that each role of Individual caregivers can lend to one’s overall recovery. This has been a repeated experience for me when I had lymphatic cancer, a myriad of recurrent bone infections from the earlier traumatic injury and currently, pneumonia with interstitial fibrotic pneumonitis, bronchitis, influenza and general inflammatory disease of the lungs. Following initial treatments at the local hospital (which has an enormous budget) I came here to St Camillus Center for final treatments of breathing problems and the rehabilitation process that would allow me to return to my former active life as a senior citizen.I was most immediately impressed by the nursing staff, the RNs. In my experience, from multiple sides of the medical fence, outstanding nursing care is the absolutely most important aspect of the real healing process for any patient. Here at Camillus, I was not to be disappointed. There are nurses here who, while working long hours with large patient loads, respond with clinical certainty, broad knowledge, outstanding experience, kindness, warmth, patience, and timeliness that could not go unnoticed. In fact, I am in the process of identifying some of the best of the best nurses and writing reports of extreme competence and healing skills to their supervisors. But the kudos don’t end here. The CNAs at St Camillus are drawn from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds. Fortunately for us patients, each of these cultures are genuinely happy-spirited, warm, work very hard for lesser paying jobs (without regret), have a profound sense of morality and religious zeal that sugments the Spiritual healing that is also a part of a Catholic institution for health care. They are true psycho-social-spiritual healers !!!Do you know that small institutions on small budgets usually have tasteless, over cooked, nutritionally lacking meals ? Not at St Camillus. I have eaten each delicious meal, prepared by a creative and bright staff of chefs and assistants and serving staff as good as any in higher budget care centers. I was interviewed when I arrived to find out what foods I don’t want do they would never appear on my tray, thus disappointing me, adding to my stress thus preventing faster healing !!!I’ve been seen and evaluated by a Nurse Practioner, Physical Therapists, The Occupational Therapist, the Psychiatric Nurse, the Psychologist, my Physician, the Head Social Worker, the Administration (even the Executive Director at St Camillus) to meet my every recovery needs, establish treatment plans that work, set up medication and other treatment schedules throughout the day (dressing changes, Albuterol vaporizer treatment, PT, OT, showers, etc.) all with a great sense of dedication to my well being and to the highest levels of medical care by a small institution on a small budget.Do you know that a good cleaning / maintenance worker helps you get better ? Well, the best ones do. Not only do the better staff thoroughly clean all surfaces in the room to prevent nosocomial infections, but when they are also happy to work hard (cultural) and can carry on a cheery and appropriate conversation at the same time, they are healing my need for visitors (I have none otherwise). As a guy, I use a urinal by my bed. Anyone, from any level or role of service will empty it after putting on gloves..Dr J. Gagnon

Had my mother here in January 2017. She fell 4 times in lessence than two weeks. I did file a repirt with the state of Connecticut. Always had a problem in reaching her by phone which was in the room. I believe they turned the ringer off. Many times my mom had no water. I called a meeting at the facility to address the issues. Mom did not return after the last fall.

My mother was admitted on Tuesday afternoon, she had fractured her ankle in 3 places, needed help for everything. She was placed in a bed and left there. Her medication was not administered correctly, she was rarely checked on, food was not administered for someone with diabetes. She is going home today because she is not comfortable there, doesnt feel that she is being attended to. I am very disappointed with the entire experience.

If I could rate negative stars I would. Every last detail of this place is terrible and disgusting. Residents get barely any attention. The rooms are filthy. This is not a place to keep your family member cared for. The neglect is inhuman and unreal.
