Dr. Hung and all the staff at HSS are superior!! Dr. Hung is the most kind, attentive and caring physician I have seen in a long long time. He makes you feel as if you are the only patient he is caring for. Dr. Hung really listens to what I had to say and cared deeply about the pain I was in. I traveled 1 1/2 hours (one way) to have multiple procedures with Dr. Hung and was worth every minute spent traveling. I am blessed to have found Dr. Hung, his assistant Bernadette, and his team of highly qualified and empathetic nurses. I developed severe arthritis in my cervical spine, and have experienced continual chronic pain for the past seven months. I was miserable. Dr. Hung is an exceptionally skilled doctor. I’ve been to see him twice for injections. Both times he completed the procedures without causing me any discomfort at all. He is a very caring physician that never rushes when speaking with a patient. He makes sure to answer each and every question completely in terms that are easily understood. I can’t recommend him highly enough. His skill gives me back the movement I haven’t had in a long time.

I started seeing Dr. Hung about 1 1/2 years ago. At that point in time I was not hopeful that I would get any relief for the pain I had. However, Dr. Hung has changed my life. I first started seeing him in NYC then I went to his Connecticut location and although I live in Long Island he is worth every minute of the drive and in fact I loved the CT location so much that I will continue to see him there. During every single procedure he took his time, he is extremely precise and thorough and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. Like I tell him all the time I am not a good patient but I no longer have any fear of seeing him because of how much he cares. Also, I would like to say that every single person, nurse, assistant etc that I have met on my journey with Dr. Hung have been exceptional. I have so much appreciation for them all and I just cant say Thank You enough to Dr. Hung for taking so much of my pain away and giving my life back.

My experience with Dr. Hung has been absolutely fantastic. He constantly expressed a deep concern for my well being and a very strong desire to alleviate my pain. He thoroughly discussed with me all the options and their pros and cons with us settling on a cervical epidural injection. I have had many epidurals in my lower back and am very familiar with the process. However, the cervical injection is much more complicated and Dr. Hung and his team performed perfectly. Any concerns I had were very quickly dispelled and now more than two weeks since the procedure I am not feeling any pain at all. I cannot recommend Dr. Hung more highly.

I first went to Dr. Hung for a specific pain in my back. Our first attempt to treat this did not work, but our second attempt was successful. I liked his willingness to step back, regroup, and try again. A year later, some generalized pain radiating to my leg and overall “creakiness” brought me back to Dr Hung. He swiftly diagnosed the problem, and offered several treatment options. Our first attempt met with limited results, but we tried again with a new approach, and I enjoyed six months of pain free existence. We’re now exploring options to continue this, after some modest pain has reappeared. I like that Dr Hung is willing to explore multiple paths to treatment, explains the pros and cons of each, and is genuinely more focused on my outcomes than on his being “right.” Although he is with HSS, “surgery” is not the first solution that emerges. Instead, options are explored until success is reached. All the while, I feel that his efforts are 100% focused on my needs, and specifically, solving my pain.But Dr. Hung also has a secret weapon that makes working with his office a total joy. Her name is Bernadette. She is Dr Hung’s office manager, scheduler, and handler. From setting an appointment to resolving a technology issue, Bernadette takes a real interest in every patient’s experience. She is truly a delight.In short, if you have a pain issue that needs to be solved, you want to see a practitioner who goes out of his way to make the experience as “painless” as possible. Dr. Hung and Bernadette accomplish this mission.

Ive had many procedures done by Dr. Hung and to me he is one of the top doctors out there. I have gone to other doctors for pain management and none of them have been as skilled or as caring as Dr. Hung. I would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat. We have to drive 45 minutes to see him, but he is totally worth the drive and always does whatever he can to take care of me and ease my pain. He even calls me back as soon as he can whenever I reach out to his office with a concern. I very much appreciate him and his attention to detail.

Dr.Hung is an exceptionally skilled physician, and he treats his patients with kindness, gentleness, and dignity. I strongly recommend Dr Hung. I recently had a herniated lumbar disc and had an excellent experience and outcome with Dr Hung. The results of the treatment surpassed my expectations ( as other colleagues had similar procedures with other Doctors with least great outcome). But Besides being extremely competent, he is very caring, patient and open in explaining you meticulously about your injury, potential ways to treat it and prognosis. Additionally Bernadette his assistant goes above and beyond to support you through out the journey.

Dr. Hung is a miracle worker. My partner was unable to walk or stand without severe pain from spinal stenosis, and now he can walk 1/2 a mile and enjoy life again! The office Manager Bernadette is also extremely helpful and tries her best to accomodate special schedules and needs. The nurses were very kind, compassionate and thorough. HSS is amazing from start to finish - I would never go anywhere else for my orthopedic needs!

Dr Hung is a fantastic doctor.He is patient,through and takes time to explain everything. I was recommended to him by another HSS physician Dr McLawhorn. I had been suffering with constant knee pain after total knee replacement on both knees 3 years ago. Dr McLawhorn thought Dr Hung might be able to help me. I had been to 2 doctors in Boston who were unable to help me. I live in NH but made the trip to Conn. in hopes of getting my life back. I was expecting to get a nerve block or another procedure but upon examination he suggested I try medication first.Within 2 weeks I started to feel 75% better....he has given me back my life. I can go to work almost pain free and am able to do many of the activities I had stopped doing. If I could give him 10 stars I would.

I saw Dr Hung to treat shoulder pain due to a labrum tear in my shoulder. I was referred by Dr Sutton, also of HSS.He is an excellent doctor. He was obviously very knowledgeable, but also kind, patient, and considerate of my comfort. He listened carefully to my complaints and reviewed my medical history in detail. He explained to me step-by-step what he was doing when giving me an in-joint injection for my pain, and even had me follow along on the ultrasound monitor. At no time was I uncomfortable in the procedure.I would also add that Dr Hungs staff, including his nurse, PA, technician and assistant were all very kind and helpful. Dr Hung also treated them with professionalism and respect, which I think reflects very well on him - he is very nice person in addition to being a very good doctor.I would recommend him to ANYONE needing pain management.

I met Dr. Hung after 3 months of changing and traveling pain and many doctors. No one could diagnose or explain my pain. Dr. Hung attentively listened to my history. He ordered an MRI and within days had me return to his office for a cortisone shot. Hours after performing the injection, Dr. Hung called to inquire as to the affect, if any, of the injection. When I reported that I’d had no relief from my pain, Dr. Hung asked if he could bring another colleague in for a different perspective, as he was a little baffled by my symptoms. He recommended Dr. Karen Sutton. Also of HSS.I was seen within the week by Dr. Sutton. She reviewed my history, my multiple xrays and MRIs. She too patiently listened to my retelling of my developing pain. She was aware of Dr. Hung’s treatment. She took a different tact and ordered 4 different tests from those I’d had before. She discovered that I was suffering from endofibrosis of the iliac artery. Within 24 hours, she found a vascular surgeon who could remedy my condition. Two weeks later, I had successful Iliofemoral bypass surgery.I am forever grateful to Dr. Hung for his kindness and professionalism; he wanted nothing but to help me, even if it meant that it wasn’t he who could solve the problem.

I saw Dr. Hung for an inflamed nerve emanating from C2 & C3; lots of discomfort, especially severe headaches in the occipital area. Dr. Hung was able to maneuver medication via injection between the effected cervical facet joints. This provided tremendous relief. His manner is very caring and he truly listens. He is also very respectful of those with whom he works in in other areas of HSS. I highly recommend him for patients seeking pain management.

I had recurrent pain that did not respond to PT or patches. This interfered with my sleep for about 120 days. After being treated by Dr. Hung, I am pain free and sleeping through the night. I was recommended to see Dr Hung for back pain. Having several back operations when I was young, I was not looking forward to another and was delighted to get the recommendation to see a pain specialist like Dr Hung. He understood my history and recommended a pain solution. He scheduled me for some injections and they worked. I had a little soreness for a couple of days but the pain that I had which limited my movements went away and I was able to get back to normal life.
