SFCU has the feeling of a small town bank that knows its members. Ive been a member for over 35 years and when people I knew retired, I thought it would lose that community feel. That is not the case. They are helpful, have stayed up with the times, the mobile app is great. If any questions, or concerns, they are easy to reach and willing to help. I have moved out of Stamford, but continue with SFCU- you dont have to be local to do business together anymore. All can be handled virtually; and handled well. Highly recommend.

I have dealt with them twice. Once there years ago in anticipation of purchasing a car. I did not go through with the purchase, but Sylvia could not have been more helpful, even when I told her I changed my mind. This year I suggested my daughter try them for a car loan. Again Sylvia handled everything and my daughter is a member, has a loan and very happy. Rates are terrific, service is the best I have had at any financial institution. The SFCU is a hidden secret. If you are a sceptic, find out for your self. Highly recommend them.

I was not aware I had any funds in this institution. They sent me something through the mail saying I did, but I had x number of days to claim it. Well, I just missed the deadline and tried to call them to find out what was going on, and nobody called me back.

I have been a member of the credit union for 30 years. The service has always been friendly, courteous, and helpful. My recent experience with a home equity loan was no different and went seamlessly.

I had been shopping for a used truck for some time, and when I found one I liked, i knew I’d need some financing. This particular vehicle was at a dealer, out of state from where we are in CT. The dealer was going to charge me 6.9 % and even more , which would really tack on some extra cost. I searched around, had been told credit unions are the way to go. So I searched locally and found Sound Federal credit Union. The process was so easy, the people there are soooo nice, and just helpful. Just like a neighborhood bank actually. The loan agent taught me a lot actually and showed me why they were the best option. Not that I needed convincing. But the brass tacks are this. 60 month loan via dealer financing:$400/month.60 month financing through Sound Federal: 3.1%$325/month! That’s $75/ month/ thousands in savings. So yeah, I definitely will be telling my friends about my experience.

Horrible service. I had scheduled an automatic payment and their system had failed to get the funds out. I even have the confirmation to show that the payment was scheduled. I spoke to Ramon Medina and he completely disregarded my emails and even the confirmation that I got from their website !!! He didnt even want to hear my concern over the phone or believe me when I have all the proof. Well my system shows me that you didnt pay it so you didnt pay it. Tried to hit me with If you can get to the bank in 30 minutes and pay this we can take care of this when I was at work !!! Who does this ????? They reported this as a missed payment to the credit bureau when Ive been making all the payments on time. They even had the nerve to charge me a late fee when I have all the proof !!! Horrible service. Stay away from this bank at all costs!!!!! Dont waste your time with this shady bank. Get a loan from a bank that actually has good customer service and doesnt ignore their customers concerns. They dont even deserve a star. Horrible !!!!!

I have gotten loans, credit cards, and more. their percentage rates are so low and I enjoy going there and seeing everyone too! their mobile app is also great and easy to use!

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! I called SFCU and asked to speak to Carolyn regarding a loan. As soon as I was transferred to Carolyn she answered and got an attitude with me as if I was bothering her. She made me feel like I was ruining her day for calling her. She even had the nerve to say she could not help me with my loan because she doesn’t have the time. WHO SAYS THAT TO A CUSTOMER? I even asked to speak to someone who was higher up from her to discuss this matter and then she hung up the phone on me. Very glad I decided not to go with this bank.

1 star just for George Sessa. Call to ask a simple question and get the rudest responses followed by getting hung up on.

Terrible customer service. Unprofessional. Zero follow-through. Staff members threw each other under the bus during interactions with each person. Front desk bank teller was openly disparaged toward her senior staff members when I came to ask for general information. Im actually glad they didnt want my business - saved me future headaches.
