Wow, I have only had good things to say about Dr. Balog. She has always listened to me and when I went through a death in my family was extremely caring and even sent me a card to my home expressing her concern for my daughter and grandson. She is always prompt with the results of my tests. She is always prompt with my appointments.

I was surprised to see the reviews, unprofessional, rude, money hungry?? She is an excellent Dr. and very good at what she does. I know she can come off as tough if the patient doesnt do what she has recommened. Plus being very busy she cant spend time on chitchat. I am a tough case and she has done everything she can to treat me. She has been kind and generous with me. She is an excellent Specialist, not there to baby anyone or be their friend.

Dr Balog is not only an excellent rheumatologist who had treated me for several years, but she is one of the best physicians I have ever dealt with as a patient. She is sincere, knowledgeable and very professional. I believe, she is an asset to the South Bend Clinic.

I have been a patient with Dr. Balog for a little over three years. At first I thought she was absolutely wonderful and help me through different medications and side effects and all that kind of stuff but towards the end of my time as her patients I did not feel like she listened to me at all. I was having a lot of swelling in my legs and in my feet and my feet hurt also and she proceeded to tell me that I’m having swelling and pain because I gained weight! WTF! I went to see her two more times towards the end of being her patient about this issue and all she did was make me feel like an idiot for being there she didn’t listen to me she was rude and it made me feel horrible and did not listen. Since then I have found a doctor in Illinois I drive 2 1/2 hours to go see my doctor in Illinois. She has been helping me for six months and I feel the best I have ever felt in over three years. So thank you Dr. Balog for not listening to your patients. for not caring for not acting like you have to make people feel like an idiot because you’re a doctor. Thank you for nothing . I hope whoever reads this if anybody really does I hope that they realize that doctors know a lot of stuff but they should listen to their patients

I was referred to Natali Balog for an autoimmune diagnosis in July 2013. She advised me of my positive test for scleroderma by saying, I hope you have purchased all the life insurance you want. I was teaching higher ed full time at the time and going thru a divorce. I had severe painful symptoms (ulcers on my fingers), extreme fatigue, lumps all over my body, fever, etc. I had exhausted my short term disability with my employer but needed a Dr. to provide a physical so I could apply for coverage on my employee-purchased long term disability coverage until I felt well enough to return to work. She thought I was seeking SSDI and began to yell at me, calling me names, said I was lazy and that she had other patients who were still working, even though they were on oxygen. She yelled at me for several minutes and it was so loud, her own nurses came in with tissues and attempted to calm me from crying so I could drive home from her office. As a result, I LOST MY FT JOB because my request for LT disability insurance was denied without her input but I was not well enough to return to work. I was also going through a divorce (so I REALLY needed my job). I ended up losing my IN home and had to move out of state to live with family. Thank God her unprofessionalism led me to SCRIPPS in San Diego. My team of doctors have kept me primarily symptom free and as healthy as possible for 6 years. Doctors are supposed to do no harm but this woman is unprofessional and cruel. I have NEVER had a doctor yell at me in such a manner. Six years later, I am still working (at 2 schools), and have rebuilt my life despite my health issues that include autoimmune disorders in the double digits and diabetes from surviving a pancreatitis attack that ruptured my pancreas in 2014. Had I still been her patient, I probably would be dead.

Spent a whole whopping 5 minutes with me at first and only appt, not even having my previous medical records from my previous rheumatologist. Sent me for an MRI. No findings. Never rescheduled me for follow up despite my previous rheumatologists dx of Seronegative RA after months of treatment, after speaking with me for hours at each appointment (seriously, my first appt was almost 3 hours). Not recommended, I would give 0 stars if I could. She doesnt care about the patient, just money hungry.

Dr. Balog was rude, pompous and didnt listen to a word I said. I waited for well over a month to get into her and was desperate for help and answers. She treated me like I was an idiot and I left there in tears. I would not in a million years recommend this doctor!!!
