Love this place. The people that work there are amazing. And they help so much. Im so glad this place and those people are there. If it wasnt for this place and those people. I wouldnt be where I am today. Truly an amazing place!

I dont remember visiting a center for the homeless I must have had by my phone picked up on it but anybody who helps the homeless I give them 5 stars but theres still a lot of people sleeping on the streets on the corners and I think people sleeping under bridges theyre not doing their job properly

On occasion staff is short tempered and dis-respectful of guests.

Went to the homeless shelter to take a friend there to get help the staff was friendly and nice but they had a couple of male volunteers that were really rude.

The Help, Support, and Shelter that is offered to the Communities in this place is AWESOME. Caring for Families whose situations have been lifestyle altered, sharing the knowledge and resources to get them back on track is a great asset.

I am currently a resident, here at The Center. I have truly enjoyed my stay thus far. I will have to say that the staff and the clients here are GREAT, and all in all very Loving and helpful, catering to each of our individual needs accordingly.There are very few places that i am aware of that even can slightly begin to compare. I am a native Virginian here for a winter stay, I have been truly impressed with the way and manner in which this establishment has been set up and run. It weeds out the people who are not wanting help and caters to those who are willing to help themselves as well as others. all the while it still offers many other means of assistance to those in need. They offer a clothes closet to the public and its guests twice a week and three meals a day for its guests, with a meal also being given to the public during weather amnesty. This is a place during cold weather for outsiders to find shelter and a hot meal. I would recomend The Center For The Homeless to anyone that is seeking refuge from lies troubles or just a fresh start on a new life. God Bless!

Great place, doing good things for our community. Its nice to have places and programs that help people who want it. There are a couple few places in downtown South Bend and Mishawaka. I have done some volunteer work and donated things before, they can always use help and/or donations.Thank you -

If you can avoid this place, do so. The bed bugs are atrocious. My arms were covered with itchy bites only after one night.The staff are overworked and grumpy. Many of the residents, of course, are even more intolerable, as egos can get big and mental disorders abound.The food is disgusting slop (and you have to pay for it after 45 days too, even though its donated). There is nowhere to cook or store your own food.Its very difficult to get the sleep your body needs, as they wake you at 6am in loud/rude fashion.And maybe the worst part is its hard to get away during the day. They require you to go to so many community meetings, chores, etc that you wind up coming back 2-3 times per day (and wind up working the equal of a part time job for them without pay).The only reason to go here is if its cold and you have nowhere else to go. Otherwise stay away.

This place is a joke. Theyre not trying to break the cycle of Homelessness - theyre in the Business of keeping the Homeless dependent on them. There WAS a class there a while ago taught by two former employees - Debbie Lane and Katherine Dick - that truly made a difference in the residents lives. They since cut and changed it totally around. The female Case Managers were legitimately sleeping with the homeless male clientele. They dont help with transitional housing programs either. The only thing good about this place is the counseling offered. Everything else was terrible.

Its not as bad as some would think. Im very grateful and thankful for the staff , my couch, the volunteers, the classes and all the beautiful people and souls Ive meet. Im Grateful and Thankful for The Center. I feel welcomed,loved,safe and at home while here.

One of the better shelters Ive been in staff were cool

An absolute nightmare. If they were In a hotel business they would be closed down. They have no idea whether there are any beds available for the homeless. They pick and choose who gets in and I have seen people wait three or more days in a row just sitting there in the lobby. Bed bug problems, the most rude staff imaginable and simply unprofessional. The left hand never knows what the right is doing. They steal donations of food and take it home too by the way. The way the homeless are treated in South Bend is frightening and sad.

Thankful for the hospitality. Although the building could be cleaner. Staff is great, very kind to all, from what I saw.

N/a meetings have saved my life

Its an ok place to live if you dont mind kids keeping you up all night, bed bug spray treatment every Monday and residents acting like there in Jr. High. Food is questionable. They have casseroles daily and sometimes inedible. But its a shelter from a storm. But they help really well to get you in if your in a dyre situation and will help you get the services you need from community to.

I attend N.A. here and its clean and comfortable....decent parking, good security!

Well they try the food is ok but they are giving you a place to stay there are kind and treat you like family they do care i wish they did not wake you up at 6:00 and make you pay after 45 days but over all they are very good just try to get a job i know its hard but you can do it i know of people who did and i know you can if you have no place to stay go here its very nice i loved it.

I got a flat tire and ended up stopped right out front. A young gentleman ended up helping me change my tire.

This place is ok to stay if you have no where else to go. But the way the staff treats people is very disrespectful they treat you very badly because you are here and the food they cook and serve people is very disgusting they throw all kinds of things togeather and on top of it they want you to pay for it. and the place is full bed bugs and rats. This is one of nastiest shelter I have ever been in... Please dont go here if at all possible....

My daughter donated several products to them after she had a fund drive over the weekend.
