Horrible care services. No supervision on duty. When you call facility you can’t get a live person to answer or return your calls.

My grandmother had spent the last few years of her life living here. During the times that I had visited her pre-COVID, I had no complaints at all. The staff seemed nice and very friendly. My grandmother had no complaints either (other than her knees aching). However, the day that she had passed, the sheer amount of insensitivity that had come from some of the staff was so abhorrent and unbelievable. On February 4, I was to visit my grandmother due to her health rapidly deteriorating as I had received a call from a family member on February 3 that she wasnt doing well since Monday, February 1st. The day I had called Washington Care Center to visit her on February 4, I was connected to a gentlemen on the third floor. I introduced myself, and my relationship to my grandmother. After asking how my grandmother was doing now and that I was on my way, he had blurted out that she had passed away and asked me to call back in 5-10 mins as he would have an RN speak with me. Alright, so, thats definitely some big news. Im already in a state of shock and disbelief. 10 minutes pass by, and I called again to be connected to the gentlemen on the third floor once again. After clearly saying my name and relationship to my grandmother away, and calling back to speak to an RN about her passing. He asks, Who told you about her passing? What? Is this guy for real? I informed him that HE DID, and he was the one that had informed me to call back 5-10 mins to speak with an RN about my grandmothers passing. I was never connected to an RN, instead I was met with a 5 second pause that ended in a question asking me, Okay... so, which funeral home is she going to? I had informed the male staff that I unfortunately cannot make that decision, as I am not the DPOA. After explaining why I was calling once again, I was cut off and asked the question again that I needed to hurry and make a decision to which funeral home I should send the body and to call the DPOA immediately for get her to try and come to the facility. I was LIVID. Not one single ounce of sympathy, and to persist asking questions of where she should go, I hung up.A family member eventually found out about her passing and spoke with a staff member. The staff member had informed me that Washington Care Center would allow visitors in groups of 2, at the 9AM, 12PM, and 3PM hour with strict PPE protocol. When my mother and I had gotten there, we were immediately dismissed due to COVID-19 protocols. Of course, we understood that there was a pandemic happening, but there was a disconnect with the front and what the staff member (possibly social worker) had stated. The male staff member from the third floor came down to the lobby coincidentally and all he could say was that he apologized for the misunderstanding and walked out of the door. Oh and another thing - Yall, I kid you not, a medical staff was overhearing our discussion with the front desk, and blurted to me and my mother that my grandmothers body had already been taken away (wrong person by the way). This led to the front desk correcting her, and the medical staff apologizing as there were two Vietnamese females that had passed that day on February 4 (one being my grandmother). Wow. I really had no words at this point. My mother and I was eventually able to see my grandmother for the last time in her room, thanks to the front desk staff and administrators. This may be upsetting to some, but I wanted to share my experience with this facility. My grandmother meant the world to me. The times I visited, she had informed me that she relied on staff and was overwhelmed with gratitude for them helping her with her ADLs. Instead, on the day of her passing, she was treated as just another body, nothing more. The amount of insensitivity shown that day had painted a new light of that place that I will never forget. Please do not have someone endure what I had to go through, as staff should really be careful in relaying information, and as well as just really being mindful to those that had just lost someone important in their lives.

Terrible lack of communication with family members of patients. Was on hold for 40 minutes. Still no luck getting through to the nurses station.

I think this place is fantastic! The people here take care of my dad and do a great job making sure he gets the care he deserves. I can tell that they like what they are doing and happy helping our loved ones.

I had $80 stolen from me here on the weekend, when asking to file a formal complaint to record the incident I was threatened by supervisor Sunny to be kicked out. No complaint ever filed, no update ever given although all management was made aware. I know times are hard but if you want trustworthy upper management and caregivers, I would strongly suggest against EVER placing your family in a facility of this sort with their standards kept. Coming from a nationally registered EMT and WA State registered CNA, please be careful at this facility. This all occurred 06/2018. Thank you for reading, what I saw was so intense I had to file a complaint with the state just to make sure there was some type of follow up with all the residents after leaving, everyone deserves to be treated like a human being! Maybe a year ago when those other reviews were done things were better as of 2018 this is my update from what I saw
