My experience at Mirabella has been wonderful. I have been in this facility now for four months recovering from a bad fracture of my leg. Both in the skilled nursing and on to the assistant care. Everyone from administration to all of the nurses and staff are exceptional. Their professionalism and care is the best. The facility is beautiful and the food is very good, healthy and good choices. They are also very safe with this pandemic we are in, a main reason I chose this facility. I would recommend Mirabella to anyone who is looking for a place for recovery and or a beautiful place for retirement.

I have worked for Mirabella Administration and Resident Services for a little under a year and love my coworkers and the residents. I have always felt supported by management. Benefits are great. The residents are always so kind and happy to chat. I look forward to my future with Mirabella.

My mom was at Mirabella twice over the past four months due to some unfortunate circumstances and Brooke Kastens (social worker) was my “go to” for everything I needed for my mom especially due to covid and the inability to visit my mom and help her directly. Clearly this was a particularly challenging time given family members could not be of any assistance to our loved ones. Brooke just took the reigns and was there to help with anything I needed for my mom. She was super Responsive and really went above and beyond. She clearly loves her job and it shows!Hats off to Brooke and the rest of your staff! They made a very difficult set of circumstances much more bearable!

They provide free valet parking for guests of residents but there is a decent amount of paid street parking M-S from 8-8 and free on Sunday and Holidays. Be aware the Town car is for residents only and destinations located within a mile of the facility. The dinners I have eaten there with my parents were very good and offered a variety.

The amenities are lovely the people are very nice here. Make no mistake if you are looking for strictly independent living, this is a first class FIVE STAR Facility. However, Do not choose this facility for your last residence (as the majority may) without a thorough look and tour of the second floor. For short-term rehabilitation purposes it seems to be above board. However, if you’re at the end of your twilight years from a terminal illness or other, you could be disappointed by the care you would expect. Waiting days to see a doctor with multiple reschedules, not delivering medication on time, if at all. Seems under staffed or just lazy? The “nurses” on many instances run like the staff at Home Depot if you have a question or concern. Just our experience with two loved ones. An opinion, nothing more. You will also need to get used to dealing with a very large Somali, most are nice some are very unhelpful, but that is expected to some extent of all people that may be fulfilling such job functions? You must judge as I will not. Many were kinder than the patients other could not have cared less. Take a tour of the second floor is my point in leaving.

My father has a condo here. Nice staff. Every helper of any kind is helpful. The dining room is great. Also, a bar with full size tables to have dinner and watch games on TV. People who live here seem to be pleased with the Mirabella. Valet parking, larger rooms for special get togethers serving food. Lounges for bridge, puzzles, socializing., beautiful pool, fully equipped workout room, social events, classes. Assisted living floor is great. Takes care of People who are injured, Sick, recovering from strokes, heart attacks, etc. Im very happy he is here. Also there is a memory care wing.

I was in the rehab unit. Took 3 hours to get a key to unlock the top drawer of my bedside stand. I had a purse I needed to secure. It took 30 min to an hour to get my call light answered. If i asked about something I was told I will check and they never returned. One night my call light was left on a chair across the room from my bed. My bed had many lumps and bumps. I complained for 4 days. I was told all the mattreesses were the same. All the while my back was hurting more and more. Finally after a general meeting with staff I got a bed in 15 minutes. No activities are provided. The meals were good. Socializing with others patients at meal time was great. This is rated as the best in Seattle. I would hate to see the worst rehab unit.

We moved here on March 1 ,2019forsaking our apartments in Honolulu and in Ashland,Oregon. It was hard to give those places up , BUT we’re very glad we did.Mirabella is in the SouthLake Union area an interesting and walkable neighborhood. Our 1200 sq, ft two-bedroom East-facing apartment is light and quiet. We were provided with new appliances and floor covering when we moved in and the apartment was painted in colors we chose. The dinners served in the elegant lake-view dining room are excellent and amazingly varied and the service is super. For us athletic facilities were important and Mirabella has the best: salt water pool with four lanes and long enough to swim real laps plus two other smaller pools, an amazingly well-equipped weight room with air-pressure weights, tread mills rowing machine and stationary bikes. This equipment is used by enthusiastic residents , but we have never found the place over-crowded. We have not participated in the numerous classes or in water aerobics, but we know residents who think these classes are quite good. And finally the culture of Mirabella is welcoming and interesting. The building welcomes speakers on a wide variety of subjects, Osher Life Long Learning classes , and musical groups. There are numerous clubs and interest groups. The movie club shows two films a week ( open to all) one oldie and one current. Oh yes, and I have forgotten to mention the comfortable and well- stocked library: daily NYT, WSJ, and Seattle Times , various magazines and books on every subject which you just take out and return -no check out.A great plus here is that the resident director and the facilities director have an open-door policy . They are responsive to criticism. This is not a democracy or a condominium ; residents do not establish policy , but we see improvements made based on our suggestions. Anyway. It’s an all-round good place to hang out and enjoy being old.

Went to visit my grandmother. Had an issue with the valet damaging my car. This was a little while ago (Still dealing with the issue). Ended up talking to a supervisor his name was Bill. I believe. Super rude, selfish and didn’t seem to care about this issue whatsoever. Anyways, the story continues. Just very unhappy.

I have never reviewed Mirabella before, but am stunned by TLs poor review. This person is NOT well informed about many circumstances of working and living in the local area, which is obvious by the comments about parking, construction, and staff turnover - and I have a hard time believing that this person actually lives there. So let me counter this review from personal experience. 1. Seattle is undergoing construction on every single block. Its the city of 1000 cranes, and all one needs to do is remove their head from remote places to look at the skyline, and drive a few blocks to see how the streets close / open depending on the day. Regarding parking, it is a challenge everywhere, as cited by numerous articles in local publications including the Seattle Times, The Stranger, and Seattle Weekly. The exhaust, the fuel wasted from people circling the block to find parking is legendary...which is not Mirabellas fault. In fact, Mirabella combats this (and anticipated it) by providing onsite and valet parking for permanent employees, residents and guests. BTW, no gratuities are allowed. 2. Regarding staff turnover: Seattle is an international city now, and people of all ethnic backgrounds and skill levels move or commute here to work. There is a shortage of labor in this healthy economy, so everyone in the typically high-turnover fields including healthcare, tourism, and service industry are experiencing higher than usual turnover. The WA Sick and Safe law contributes to this. But Mirabella pays well, has a great environment and culture, a great bonus / incentive plan, and pays 100% of their employee benefit premiums, so enjoys a much lower turnover than most. An aside to this: most of the staff are long term employees, with the greatest turnover being in some lower level healthcare positions who are in short supply and can leave for any reason if they see greener grass ahead. 2.a. KUOW / NPR once did a report on how Mirabella Seattle takes up an entire block of Seattle, and is the most Republican block in the city. There are a lot wealthy people living there with first-world problems, some as serious as calling council meetings because theres not enough red in the Christmas decorations! Others throw tantrums if they cant have their alcohol while recovering from major surgery in the nursing facility. Most of them are nice people, but there are also some that are - frankly - racist and verbally abuse employees of color, language differences, and religious backgrounds. Most employees are tolerant and patient and dont take it personally, but it wears on them, especially if they are habitually accused of things they have not done because of their race. These residents know the law and use it to manipulate those unworthy of their respect. 3. Finally, the dinning experience at Mirabella continues to be outstanding. They do banquets, weddings receptions, private and professional events, and get rave reviews. The dining experience in the healthcare facility is limited only by the patients dietary restrictions...Mirabella routinely serves the same caliber of fresh, quality cuisine there that is found on the 10th floor in their signature restaurant. 4. Comments about not trusting the corporate or local management fall flat if theres no context. 5. Mirabella works with other CCRC choices in the region, and all have different strengths and drawbacks, and all make mistakes or have issues from time to time, and refers to and accepts people from them. Its not a once-size-fits-all world and all of us in the field try to meet the needs of every single resident or patient. Mirabella gives priority to residents who live here already but cannot accommodate every request if it violates the needs or rights of others from inside or outside the community. Mirabella has a waiting list for memory care, assisted living, and skilled nursing services, with most referrals from word of mouth and the medical community who know Mirabellas reputation. Must be doing something right.

Location is poor. Parking in area is very poor. Surrounded by construction on all sides. Once construction has been completed, the area doesnt have the infrastructure to handle the enormous influx of people and traffic. Its going to be a nightmare. The residents are friendly and there are many staff who are very friendly, helpful and willing to go the extra mile to help residents. This is an upscale facility, but they do charge extra for most everything - somethings included - a lot of essentials are not. The rooms are very nice and well sound proofed. Its good for wealthy independent residents.Dinning and food service is in decline. Not well managed to accommodate residents in decline.Need to be hands on to be certain your loved ones are being cared for properly. Staff is poorly managed - high turnover. Uneasy about having loved ones in assisted living or memory care. Negligence in care. Not enough reliable staff to give consistent care. Not enough staff to cover all areas fully and properly. In general all fees are increasing but service is getting worse. Staffing is a too many chiefs not enough Indians situation. Has a save a penny spend a dollar kind of feel to the place as well. Some policies interfere with families having access to help loved ones. Dont trust the management, Pacific Retirement Services or local management as well. Weve been here for 5 years and in retrospect I wish we had chosen a better place and cannot give a positive recommendation for Mirabella Seattle. Of course, if the Mirabella is the best there is, its better to stay in ones own home and get in-home care assistance. In addition, In-unit home care assistance is very sporadic, dont get the quantity, quality or consistency of assistance requested. There is one reliable in-home care person that shoulders the burden of care when the others dont show up or neglect their duties(including, but not limited to the administration and supervisory tasks required). We are not getting the quantity, qualityor consistency of care requested. That unreliability leaves me uneasy leaving my loved ones alone with the in-home care staff. Our in-homecare is covered by insurance. The management who were responsible for submitting paper work so we could be reimbursed never submitted the paper work, but would lie that they had. After 1 and 1/2 years of letters from the insurance company asking for documents and my own personal enquiries to those responsible including their supervisors, I submitted the paper work myself and only then was reimbursed by the insurance company. There are more and worse transgressions leaving me clear that choosing the Mirabella was a mistake. The entire reason we want a retirement home is for the declining and end of life care where we can feel confident our loved ones are being well looked after. The Mirabella is inadequate for that purpose. That said, even if one is NOT looking for a good end of life facility there are better and far less expensive 5 star condo/apartment places then in the middle of a downtown Seattle Construction site.I could go on, but I think it's important this review get out there so others have some idea of what the Mirabella is really like. Please note, this is an edited version of my review last month.

Tried to get my mother transferred to Mirabella. Stopped by and asked to see someone; was told that no one was able to talk to me and gave me a phone number of someone to contact. When I called her, I got a voice mail stating that she will be out from Sept.16-Oct.1 (and today is October 18). So I called the main swtichboard and was again transferred to someone elses voicemail. if a facility is too busy to take intake calls, how will they treat their patients and patients family? I give them five thumbs down!
