If you join a program they will take care of you. Showers, hygiene supplies, full meals, huge lockers that can hold a lot of belongings, a bunk bed, bus passes....etc, you name it.I showed up with nothing but ambition and I left as a sharper man with a great job. There are some sharp individuals who join the link program like I did so dont feel ashamed for receiving help.

Joining a program was great and helped me get back on my feet. I was in the link program that helped me a place to stay and save up enough money to get my own place. The welcome center staff is awesome and always willing to listen and provide decent advice. It has been couple months now and since being in the link program it helped me a great deal. Now I am doing well at my job, able to pay rent and keep up with bills and save money. Luke palmer and ben Graves, and Richard McAdams he was amazing the only one who helped me with my debt and getting back on track and he really cared, Darren and Mike in the kitchen are amazing also they are good people to talk with., and Manny and Luke for helping me get into the program. Thanks again for everything. Now I am stable have a decent job and making enough to pay rent and and bills at my old place.

PROS:Beds are readily available. The food is not bad at all.Flexible schedule, especially those who work early mornings. The afternoon staff is pretty nice.CONS:No shower facilities for the bed guests. In most homeless shelters, showers are usually mandatory before bed (I had to go to the other side of downtown Seattle to take a shower).Limited supply of blankets, which are thin it doesnt cover the entire body. The environment is very hostile, almost an ghetto type feel. The overnight staff can be pretty rude and standoffish.Bugs are crawling in the sleeping area during the night.

I believe this place does the best they can given the area. Thank you for the food and such. However, it seems like people needing help dont really have the option. Online it said 1 or 3 month program to help with substance issues. The brochure I was handed said the same. However I was given a time frame of a year or more. Thank you again for what you are able to do for us. its a real blessing!

The place is great because it helps to anyone, everybody is welcome, you will find a warm place, breakfast, lunch and dinner and a place for sleeping too. This place has good kitchen because it is clean and the service is fast, sometimes you will find a variety of food. This is a very important place for anybody, the place really really help. Even you will find, many programs for helping the people, such as photography, child support, bus transfers, clothes, shoes, etc... Everybody is welcome as invited as volunteer too.

A reliable institution which has hearty meals daily, and overnight stays with cots for the homeless. I stayed here the first nights I was homeless in Seattle. I recommend not arriving very late, as the overflow is offered chairs, for which I was grateful but a bit uncomfortable; still safer than the street. Thanks, UGM.

It would be 5. The link program is full and I have a job and is drug free. Im on a waiting list, i was upset when i was told there were no spots left. Guys that have been there over there 6mo to a year time are still there. I just dont think its fair to the ones that are working and drug free to wait on people who get an extended stay and not working to get themselves out of homelessness. There are people who are in the link program that arent doing anything no job just helping out. Now I have to fill out late slips to come in late because I work evenings. All in all Im blessed to have a job and God has a plan for me. He sees my struggle and will never put more on me than I can bare Ill be patintewith it because i know that he will work things out for me. A positive Im not on the streets mission please help.me out Im a good guy that fell on hard times.

Union Gospel gives out more and goes above and beyond and people dont realize that, we get so spoiled with the extra amenities that is given to us, and in turn becomes expected everyday from them. When they dont need to do anything for us. There hospitality, the breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday. They have cots for the homeless if need to get out of weather. If you ask me they are a lot of heart of Seattle and people take advantage of that too much for What Little they have they fork out a lot for the nothing we have.

As an outsider, the streetscape in a block radius from this mission is a scary place. Had to get away after being accosted several times because of a subsequent rogue mist of pepper spray. Thats not the Missions fault, but the Mission is much the focus of people hanging around. Idk if itd help to have police visibly posted here, but there wasnt when I was waiting 10min for a bus across the street. The mission does invaluable humanitarian work. My take is from just 10min of being nearby.

Our youth group had a wonderful experience serving at Hope Place and with the Mens shelters Search and Rescue team. You can tell that they care about the homeless and their ministry is so important. What struck me the most was how many of the people leading the different ministries were men and women who had gone through the programs themselves. This should be a testament to the great work that the UGM does and the transformational power of the Love of Jesus Christ. I am honored to have been a (small) part of it, even if only for a very short time. God Bless.

Well this place had helped me in the past when I had nowhere to sleep nor eat. I stop by there every once in awhile and if I got a little change or pizzas to hand out and words of encouragement to the new homeless ones. I give them the important knowledge on where to get the right help and how to slowly but surely get back on there feet. The place could use alot of work but it is what it is it helps alot of people to be fed and safe...

The people here choose to be here, they are called to serve others and do what they can to help transform the lives of those in greatest need, each and every day. It may not always look the prettiest or be the quietest but it’s where you go when you need someone to just love on you, when you need a way out, a way up, it’s where you go when you are ready to start a new life.

They only care about you if you don’t do anything. Someone I knew was here and since she went to school, they kicked her out because of that. She didn’t do anything bad and because she was late signing a paper since she was in school. They let her go plus they yelled at her and was mean. It’s an ok program if they can control you.

The UGM is a scam.. Those people should be ashamed of themselves.. Telling people they help the homeless.. What I saw was a bunch of unmotivated people at the desk.. It smelled like ass and feet throughout the whole building.. Outside all I saw were drug dealers lined up drinking and smoking weed trying to sell harder drugs to addicts. Its a joke down there. I wouldnt stay 1 night in that place!! And if you donate to this place I suggest you reconsider.. They already receive part of your taxes every year due to their Govt funding. If you think Im beefing this review up go see that dump for yourself!! There are way better places in Seattle.. 211 is the # you want to dial.. That will give you all the info for shelters youll need.
