This place has their Covid protocols down to an art . It was my first time here since switching insurance providers. They were extremely helpful and professional . Dr Mayer was my provider for my wellness visit and he’s currently accepting new patients . I can’t recommend him enough. He’s so kind and thorough. I really was Impressed by the level of care and detail.

Ive been getting my primary care at Group Health Downtown Medical Center, now Kaiser, for 26 years and its terrific. The provider staff is highly-trained, caring and efficient, and providers take the time to answer all questions and concerns. I talked just now with Mario, a medical assistant in my primary care internists office, about two challenges I am facing and he handled my requests kindly and with a promise to follow-through immediately. I have no doubt that he will.

Giving blood and saving a life has never been easier. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The snacks and juices are yummy and the center is extremely clean. Park in the alley for free parking but dont forget to ask for your free parking pass.

I have no complaints about the healthcare received at this location, which has always been very good. However, I DO have complaints about the billing, which I find confusing and misleading. Twice now Ive had an experience where I scheduled an annual wellness/preventative visit, checked in and paid my co-pay for a wellness/preventative visit, and then received an unexpected bill in the mail for a preventative visit PLUS an office visit. I called the billing office both times and they said this is a normal practice. It seems that if you bring up certain topics during your annual preventative visit, the preventative visit turns into an office visit, and then Kaiser charges you for both types of visits at the same time. My advice to Kaiser is to reassess how you handle preventative/wellness visits and make a more concerted effort to not modify or add charge codes unless it is legitimately an extra body of work.Follow up: I called back and talked to a different person in the billing office, who provided excellent follow up, even calling me back the next day to say they reviewed my visit notes and decided the extra charge code was unwarranted. They refunded the additional charge. This was a very pleasant surprise today.

I do not understand the one or even two stars. I went to another Seattle Vision center for over a month and they did not see that I suffered from a detached Retina. Kaiser did and got me into emergency surgery the very next morning (would have been same day but I ate breakfast). Now a week later I have vision returning and may be able to expect a full recovery, I credit this all to the great Drs who are a part of Kaiser.

Optometry review: Dr. Isaac Varon was wonderful and he diagnosed the problem I was having with my current glasses. The technician was most pleasant and helpful. The clinic itself was clean and the equipment was new. I was seen right on time.

Cant even rate my visit. I missed it because there is no way to find the building based on the google maps or a single marker that indicates where to go. I spent more than 7 minutes trying to talk to a living person and navigating their useless automated system. Then when I got to talk to someone they couldnt even tell me where to go. They spent a few tries explaining what business was in front of them before I snapped and just asked for a physical address. The person. Didnt even sound like she knew the building or she was just that useless in helping with directions. Medical issues are stressful enough without having to miss your appointment because you cant even find it.

I saw Dr. Szocik for a new patient appointment. I was SO impressed by the friendliness of the staff as well as the efficiency of my appointment from check-in to meeting with the doctor to getting my lab work. The desk staff were friendly and efficient as well as the check-in staff (Tamara). I did not have to wait long at all and was out the door as soon as appointment was complete. To be honest, I had low-expectations for my visit based on some of the reviews I had read about this clinic and being a new Kaiser patient frustrated with the appointment making process and having to change PCPs, but all of these were completely unfounded.Dr. Melissa Szocik is absolutely wonderful, I cannot say enough! This was my first-time visiting with her, and it was one of the best experiences Ive had with a doctor. From the second she walked in the door, I felt comfortable in her presence and had a sense of being cared for which is what a doctor should do for their patients! She addressed all of my concerns, asked relevant questions, dug deeper to find out my needs, and coordinated my care. Im a healthy young person, and because of this, I have felt in the past that my needs get overlooked. Dr. Szocik did not see it this way and worked hard to identify where I could use the most help in meeting my health/wellness goals.Bravo to the Downtown Seattle team! I am thrilled to be working with you.
