I’m a primary care provider and get my primary care here. The staff here are friendly and efficient. Love my doctor here. The clinic is in a convenient location for West Seattle residents. Nice to have dedicated free parking and easy entry into the building. The office space is very nice. Great to have on site labs and some specialty care. Many of the negative aspects of some other reviews here might be solved by using MyChart app for all communication / appointment tracking and having the expectation that you will wait weeks to months as a new patient to establish care in any Seattle primary care clinic that has well regarded providers.

THIS IS A REVIEW OF SERVICE OVER THE PHONE.Ive been going to this clinic since I was born. Literally. The physicians and nurses are polite, well adjusted and thorough. The phone operators are the opposite. They will hang up on you. They are rude. They are unhelpful. The wait times are long.Youre better off going in person for any needs.

This review is regarding the phone operators and new patient appt setup system. I was exploring a new primary care provider and was looking to schedule a new patient appt, their website does not allow for that, I have now called 4-5 times to be on hold for 30+ minutes to be hung up on by their system or phone operators. I left a message in hopes to get a call back, I have also used their call-back service and never got a call back.

Horrible experience with Dr. Ellen Juhl. She was just not ready to understand this is an annual check up and refused basic bloodwork tests like testing for sugar and cholesterol even though I insisted that is genetic in my case. She was adamant stating that she is the doctor, unwilling to listen to what her patient had to say. This was my first time at Swedish clinic; not going back again.

Dr Chon doesnt listen and stereotypes. So Im in my 60s. I still work and have value. She wants all the Square peg patients to fit in her round hole because she knows best. No matter what your issues are or your past experiences are. It takes too long to get an appointment. If you get sick, you have to go to an urgent care because they cant fit you in. Im done.

1 star because 0 is not an option. My husband and I tried getting appointments back before the holidays. I had made those appointments in October for December.Mine- I came in the day and time I had written down in my calendar for two months. As soon as I got to the front desk to check in, the receptionist told me I missed my appointment two hours ago. I was shocked. I asked if they send out reminders, because I had waited just over two months for this appointment. He said they do send out reminders a day or so before the appointment. I didnt get one. So I asked to reschedule. Another MONTH later was the first opening I got.My husbands - His appointment was for the day after my original one. On our way to the clinic, after 30 minutes in traffic and a few minutes left to go, he received a call saying the doctor he would be seeing was out that day and was asked to reschedule (no reminder was sent for this one). His appointment was moved to 4 weeks later. During this time, he got covid, stayed home for two and a half weeks, and has been cleared by the healthcare personnel from the covid test center to be allowed into public again. A week after all this, he was finally ready for his new appointment (he did get a reminder this time), at which he was turned away at the front desk because he had had covid a few weeks ago. He needs a doctors appointment so he can get an inhaler for his asthma!I am hesitant to go to my appointment at this point, which is still a week out (no reminder yet). But it was so difficult to get them to pencil me in for one that I am probably still going. Meanwhile, we are looking elsewhere for a general practitioner and so on. Its a shame, because when I spoke with the doctor, she was very nice. But the reception is TERRIBLE. They are unorganized and just plain rude.

The phone staff here leaves so much to be desired that I’m going to try and find a new practice, even if it means a longer drive due to insurance requirements. Here’s my timeline of events.8/8/19 - I haven’t had a primary care physician in Seattle for the last 10 years, and decide it’s definitely time for an annual physical. I call Swedish, and they tell me that none of their doctors are accepting new patients. End of conversation. No wait list, no other suggestions. Basically just a shrug.8/21/19 - I’m at my children’s doctor appointment (at a different provider) and I ask THEIR doctor for a recommendation. They inform me that a new doctor is coming in to Swedish and to call. So, I called on the way home and was able to set up an appointment with a new doctor who wasn’t on staff yet (nor did they really know when their schedule would be open) for 10/28. Although not super informative, the receptionist was slightly apologetic that the appointment was so far out.10/28/19 - I get a phone call at 9:00am informing me that my to-be-provider was out today, and I would need to be rescheduled. She suggests a couple times the same week that won’t work, then skips to an entire month later! I push back, asking for a time next week, and she says something like “those times won’t work for you based on what we just discussed.” ??? Ok...🙄 I end up rescheduling for next Monday, 11/4. I thank her and say good bye, and she just hangs up. I’m so irritated, I call back and cancel. It’s unfortunate that I don’t know how the actual doctors at this practice are, but honestly, I do not want to see someone who is ok working at a practice with such unfriendly, unprofessional, and unhelpful scheduling staff!

THE WORSE. Horrible customer service experience. Even worse on the phone. If you think that’s bad, wait until you meet the doctors. Good luck with your patient experience. Personnel overhaul is very much needed. You can’t win championships if you don’t work as a team.

I made appointments for myself and my husband as 1st time patients and had to book out 3 months which is ridiculous. Then when I called back to see if I could possibly be seen earlier as I had a medical issue and I was told I had never made an appointment and that now the next time would be another few months away. Useless. I even called to make the 1st appointment and spoke to the person who was booking it. I would comment on the actual doctors but I havent been able to see one yet!

Went to this clinic before, but then they lost my paperwork after deciding to stop taking new patients. Now I cant see the doctor I used to see, all because of how disorganized they are. Their receptionist, Richard, actually recommended to me that I find another doctor! Hopefully my next doctors office wont let paperwork get in the way of my healthcare!

Update on the clinic based on a recent experience - they have made an overhaul to this clinic in recent months and I think the old negative reviews are not applicable anymore. I’ve only had a positive experience here with the receptionists, medical assistant, and Dr. Bonsack himself, I was truly impressed and pleasantly surprised with how this clinic is now.One downside is they have had an update to their software systems recently so check in was very long with the wait, which resulted in me finally signing it 20 minutes after my appt time. The receptionist Julie went above and beyond to try to fit me in (and was polite and professional even during such a stressful day for the front desk) since she was aware I had been on time for my appt (until encountering the check in line). I think the check in wrinkles will be ironed out once everyone is accustomed to the new software systems. Once I was checked in, the wait to see the doctor was less than 10 minutes. The appointment itself was great. I never felt rushed or like they weren’t listening bc of how busy they were (and they definitely were BUSY). Dr. Bonsack spent a lot of time with me, he patiently listened and was very thorough with next steps. His assistant Ruby was also very friendly and professional. The only issue I encountered was the check in process, but isn’t that he issue with every doctor office? When they say show up 15 min before your appointment, this is a MUST.They have a range of specialist doctors here as well, from gastroenterology to surgery to psychiatry etc. This is one of the most valuable set ups with any provider and is rare to find in a neighborhood clinic.Overall, I’m impressed pleasantly surprised with how they have changed the place, I’d recommend anyone here very highly.

I called the clinic letting them know I was going to be running behind by about 5 minuets. The receptionist told me thats fine but anything over 10 minute Ill have to reschedule. So, I ended up being about 6 minutes late. When I checked in, the person I had a appointment Ellen Juhl rudely wanted to reschedule. The next available appointment was 1/11. I thought that was completely rude and terrible way to treat a new patient. She really wanted to cancel because I was 6 minutes late. What a joke. I would never go to this clinic again.

I been seeing the same PCP/doctor for the last 35 years not all with Swedish but i have to admit that the support staff here have not been up to par. Ive called in numerous times for a perscription refills and they seem to always get the request incorrectly done which results in additional cost and time wasted. Ive had multiple prescriptions of the same medication sent to mail order the same day but the common problem is that they relay the wrong information to the physician. This time Ive asked for two prescriptions of the same medication one sent to a local pharmacy for 1 unit and one mail order with it post dated so that they wont fill both at the same time. I was informed that this was performed the way I requested but when i showed up to pick up the medication I was told that the mail order was processed and I would need to pay out of pocket at the local pharmacy. I have nothing bad to say about my PCP/doctor but the care I obtain outside of him has been frustrating at best so bad that I filled out my first and only review ever on anything. Management needs to ensure that things are done properly w but they have not and that is what needs to change. People are human and they make mistakes but 100% failure rate is a little too high

Standing in line for 20 minutes to check in only to be told I am ten minutes late for my appointment (because only one person was working the check in desk) and now I need to re-schedule is unacceptable...especially when it happens twice and the next available appointment is 4 months out.In case anyone cares to know, if you get off the elevator and the line extends past the doors, itll be at least 20 minutes from that point.

I know it is a busy office and all, and the medical business is booming these days, but i was set for a new appointment to be a new patient meeting with Dr. Bonsak. They only take a few new patients a month, but not only did the appointment have to be set out three weeks in advance, but due to the Doctors schedule I got bumped and placed on the bottom of the new patient list...two months out! So my review is not based on medical service, but bad customer service and poor handling of the situation. At least they could have moved me up in the pecking order due to their error and not dropped me to the bottom. I feel I waited long enough for them.

If you are looking for any sort of mental health services, Swedish West Seattle pretty much gives you a hank of rope and box of razor blades and sends you on the way.Im a huge proponent for mental hygiene; when one gets a toothache they go to the dentist. When they get a body ache they go to the doctor. But when most people get a heartache or need someone to talk to they tend to stuff it.It took me six months to get a counseling appointment and when I finally did it was with a younger intern-ish person who makes recommendations for the GP to write you a scrip for some psych meds. If youre looking for talk therapy, they will not tell you outright that they dont offer it.Instead they subject you to a revolving door of doctor visits that lead to exactly nowhere. Might I suggest a local drunk at the bar; even it they were passed out cold that level of treatment would far eclipse that what Swedish currently offers.Im so frustrated with their ineptitude I have begun a campaign to have Mental Health Services removed from their website under quackery laws. I filed a complaint with the Washington State Department of Health and will be contacting the local news troubleshooter in an effort to save someone in a more fragile state of mind from a terrible medical accident.Swedish Health Care does not take mental health care seriously and you should avoid them at all turns.

They injected my shots incorrectly. Gave me an infecion. Made me sick as a dog. When I called to make an appointment to be treated for their mistakes, the receptionist told me that I had to pay for it, was wildly unprofessional and down right rude. I wish I had thought to ask her name because she should be fired. My experience was so very terrible in every aspect, and now they refuse to fix theyre own mistake. Guess Im off to wait on hold got another hour and a half, because I dont think that tactless getting receptionist will be passing on my message fudging by her complete lack of professionalism. I know a lot of people are rude to receptionist, but I wasnt. She had no reason or right to treat me that way. Let alone after the swedish team made the mistake to begin with. Never ever ever going back. And I will steer anyone away who thinks about using their services. You just lost a whole family of life long patients and then some.
