Merrill Gardens, First Hill is a comfortable, inviting place to live. The patios, dining room, and other meeting rooms are enjoyable places to visit with friends and participate in activities.. The staff is helpful and bring a sense of joy to their work and this environment. I have lived here two years and I am glad to call this place home.

***** 5 star rating for Merrill Gardens at First Hill in Seattle. My mother-in-law moved into this senior living community in June 2017 at age 92. The staff takes excellent care of her, and I enjoy having delicious and healthy meals in the dining room. My family reserves the private dining room for special occasions when we have a large group. There are always beautiful flowers to welcome people at the entrance and the front desk staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There are several activities offered daily and its easy to have their shuttle transport the residents to appointments.

So far so good with my Dad. Friendly staff. Food available in dining room 7 am to 7 pm. Room costs lower than other places I looked.A number of activities each day.

Not a good place to work at.reports about residents are constantly getting ignored until things get worse.

I am advising anyone thinking to put their family member at Merril Gardens Firsthill to refrain from doing so.This is a place where caregivers are overworked,cutting care hours for profit.Nurses are useless living everything for caregivers to handle and management team is incompetent and disgruntled to handle situations,elevators are always broken living residents stranded on their floors.Hot water boiler is always out of order.

Great location close to all the major health care providers (VM, Swedish, GH, Polyclinic, HarborView) and very close to the downtown retail core. Minor Avenue (the front door) is a wonderfully small, tree lined street...however the street is quite steep. The size of the facility is perfectly intimate, not large and impersonal like many facilites we toured. Staff is courteous and helpful. Staff ratio to tenants appears to be appropriate.
