Eric is a great instructor. I had the pleasure of taking his introductory Thai massage class over a weekend. The presentations were concise, sequential, informative and interactive. He demonstrated techniques with competence and consciousness. Eric was alway mindful of helping people find adaptations and options to make each technique work for both the giver and receiver. I could go on and on, but I will end with the friendly and networking atmosphere that Eric facilitates with genuine joy and friendliness that embraces the essence of Thai culture and bodywork. I’ve been in the bodywork field for 20 years and I recommend his coursework without reservation.

I was looking for a Thai massage studio with a very experienced practitioner, Eric Spivack came highly recommended by a previous student of his in Spokane, WA where I live. I have experienced both styles of Thai massages in Southeast Asia at exclusive health & wellness spa resorts who only employ the finest trained staff, and I wanted to find someone with similar skills and experience as I am very particular and do my research on those I go to when receiving any treatments.I was extremely pleased to find Eric and to experience his healing touch. I have to compliment him on the serene tranquility and ambiance he has created in his practice spaces. It’s as if you were transported to Thailand. The landscape surrounding his setting is incredibly lush. One can immediately sense with great reverence of who practices here. The energy you feel upon entering the gate and taking the path to a staircase leading to his private practice is very healing. I was thoroughly impressed with my Thai massage session. Eric was unable to address my complaints and instead told me to do very basic relaxation approaches at home, follow a certain diet based on Ayurvedic medicine, and take a homeopathic remedy that did nothing, aka a placebo. His bodywork consisted of applying only small amounts of pressure with swift movements, which contrasts greatly to other massage therapists who were actually able to provide some help. You may have a different experience but I was expecting more given his knowledge and other reviews.Edit: To further clarify, Eric told me trying to solve my problem with his bodywork would be essentially like trying to play whack a mole and if I wanted to I could schedule a follow up appointment with a voice with a lack of confidence in it even being useful, which after additional thought indicated to me he wasnt so sure his work would even be able to address this. I never expected to be fixed in one session. This is just my personal experience, he may help with others as described in their reviews.

What an amazing experience! From the setting of the massage studio to Eric’s professionalism and terrific massage, everything was more than I expected. I left feeling relaxed, yet invigorated, and definitely much more limber than when I walked into his studio. Eric is a very skilled and knowledgeable body worker, and I highly recommend a Thai Massage session with him. On top of that, he is just a lovely person. Everything about Erics business is professional, from his experienced touch, to his beautiful and zen feeling treatment space and garden. Eric has travelled to Thailand multiple times to study, and expertly practices traditional Thai massage, which includes a combination of stretching, compression,energy work, breath work, and so much more. He manages to find each area that needs attention, and as he smoothly transitions from one move to another, the session just flows. At the same time, Eric individually tailors each session to the particular needs and desires of the client, and remains aware of that through out the session. It is blissful to lie on the mat after a session, and just absorb how wonderful your body feels. Highly recommended!

I have been practicing and studying Thai massage for almost 20 years. I studied in Thailand for 5 years and in that time had the honor of learning from several masters. Im prefacing my review of Eric with this history of myself because Ive also studied with Eric in Seattle and he is the best teacher Ive ever had. Eric has such respect, reverence, understanding and deference for Thai culture and Thai massage, which comes across in his courses. Eric is a teacher with such talent at making Thai massage understandable and tangible for a western audience. His teaching style is fun, intelligent, well paced and interesting. I have learned so much from him. Eric is also a wonderful human and it is a pleasure to be in his company. It is an honor to be his student.

I have a lot of bodywork done and Eric is as good as it gets. He has calm energy and is a great practitioner in both acupuncture & Thai massage. The office space is very comfortable and set in a great, peaceful garden. I highly recommend Eric and Soaring Crane!
