This is a wonderful dental practice where EVERY team member, from dentists and hygienists, to front and back of office staff, is kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and supportive. But today I want to recognize hygienist Heather Van Luen - shes wonderful! I have mild dental anxiety and I almost look forward to my cleanings because of Heather - almost. She is fun, warm, kind, funny and, most importantly, quick and efficient in her work. Having a cleaning with Heather is like getting to hang out and have a fun chat with a friend, albeit one who is weirdly obsessed with your teeth. My husband, daughter and son-in-law also rave about Heather and her exceptional demeanor. She is an asset to this practice and we are grateful for her care.

I did my research to find the best dental office in Marin when I first moved here. My very first visit was going to be a crucial telling on whether this would be the one. I remember my first appointment being so great and every one after being even better than before. My favorite, by far, is Heather. She was gentle, kind, and extremely funny. Thank you for making my smile all it can be!

I was referred to Dr. Daniel Scott by a friend after expressing dissatisfaction with the dentist I have been going to for years. I have had two appointments with Dr. Scott for a deep cleaning and a cavity fill. The procedure is set up into two appointments. Today is the day after the last appointment for the deep cleaning and the cavity filling. I do not have any discomfort at all as if I didn’t even go to the dentist yesterday . The staff was super nice and helpful in seeing to my care. Dr. Scott was fun, caring and extremely proficient! What stood out to me the most is that he loves what he does in helping people ! I am so happy to be a client here! Thankyou Dr. Scott and Company!!!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️

I have always counted on Dr. McDowell and his team to provide my family with top-notch dental care—but I didn’t expect him to save my marriage in the bargain! When I mentioned to him that my snoring was resulting in too many banishments to the couch, he set me up with a customized “sleep appliance” that has literally changed my life. I now sleep better at night, feel more rested all day, and most importantly, no longer torture my wife with my nightly impersonation of a bear drowning in quicksand. Trust me, if you are a snorer, investing in an expertly made appliance is worth every penny—and Dr. McDowell makes every step of the process super easy. (P.S. The staff at Tamal Vista is incredible! They are always so caring and friendly. This was my first time coming in since COVID started, and I was very impressed with everyone’s attention to detail and all the great precautions they are taking to keep patients and staff safe! My hygienist Anne is amazing! She was very patient with answering all of my questions, and she did a great job on my teeth. I have a really small mouth, and she was cautious to be careful when working with me, so that my jaw would not be sore. Love this office so much that I keep coming back out to San Rafael to have them work on my teeth, even though I live in Sacramento now. They’re the best!

This is a rare and wonderful dental practice where everything and everybody works beautifully . Dr. McDowell is a creative and heartful master of the science of dentistry . He has inherited my issues with great focus and high spirit .I am lucky to have found him and as it happened, right after he moved his practice to its newly designed location on E street .Beautiful ! I choose freely from among the hygienists , they are always good .Now, in a busy successful dental practice like this, a pivotal position for Dr. McDowell is his assistant Rayle .She is a State of California Registered Dental Assistant with the thorough education that requires . But she has attended one of the best dental schools in the state and completed a rigorous advanced training offered by that school.How do I know this about her ? I asked ! She continues to be trained by Dr. McDowell . They make a good team . I am always confident in their hands .

Tamal Vista is what I imagine every dental practice aspires to be when it grows up. It is smooth-running, utterly competent, totally pleasant, stylish yet technologically advanced, laid-back yet professional. My whole family goes here—theyve solved with friendly professionalism every grownup dental malady weve thrown at them (including my own snoring and sleep apnea, astonishingly), and the kids are always psyched to put on the shades and watch ceiling Netflix. No reservations whatsoever about recommending them, I wish there were more stars!

Had such a great experience here with Dr. Scott. He was friendly, knowledgeable, thorough, and the cleaning was pain-free! The office is clean and very nice and all the staff are very welcoming and kind. They took extra Covid precautions and I felt very well taken care of. Highly recommend!

Beautiful office space, professional and very friendly staff. They are so welcoming and explain everything very well as they go. My two daughters have to come with me to my appointments sometimes and they are always received well and treated with a warm welcome. Definitely recommend!
