5 stars to 2 stars after 10 months:Original:So far so good. Class of four children for 25$ per class of 30 minutes which seem to be in the range of you compare to water aquatic or YMCA. Nice facilities, parents are not in the class but you can pay 5$ or 7$ depending of the time to have free time in the pool (which is very limited in their schedule). Free wifi, hot water, 25$ yearly admission fee. After 10 months:My daughter received 2 ribbons in the first 3 months and for the next 7 nothing. My 3 years old might not be the best but she listens. However, the teachers (we tried 3 different) keep being stubborn about gliding. My daughter got better but she wants to swim (move her feet). So, she is stuck at that level. Also, they need to go in deep water for the next level but the kid can practice deep water only 1/5 time, hence almost only one every two months. The program is NOT adapted for young kid and the teachers do not know how to change the routine to spark progress. The staff is way too young. The supervisor decks are total douche bag. Sun glasses, big attitude, talk loudly. When I asked a question, their answer was very respectful like if the question was dumb while they had done a mistake (give twice the same level to my daughter). The pool is DANGEROUS. I saw a boy that almost drowned because in the deep water the two teachers were not supervising the kid waiting in line. The boy went in the deep and couldnt get up. It took more than 3 seconds to the teachers to move toward the boy. I almost had the time to jump to rescue him myself... Very dangerous. Supervisor decks are not checking, they just walk around with weird attitude.About supervisor decks, they also distract teachers with ridiculous riddle on the whiteboard and chitchat. I know, I stay on the side of the pool. Also, do NOT take the 3h30pm class because teachers are tidy up stuff 10 minutes before the end of the class to get ready for their teachers huddle. In short, the staff is way too young, all around 21 years old. They have fun there, and it looks to be a great place to chill as a first job, but for your own children safety and progression, I do not recommend.

I love the Tennis and pickle ball programs here. Far surpasses the other swim and racquet clubs Ive been to. The courts here are kept in top shape, fresh filtered water on each court with 2 shaded observation decks. The Weekend tennis staff is wonderful and extremely knowledgeable. The lockers room is kept pretty clean on slow days, needs more work on busy days/hours. The cafe is convenient with a super friendly staff. The gym floor Ive been to once..not too crazy about the rude mature woman trainer.Thé members have been wonderful as well as most of the staff, especially the tennis pros, Linda for one! My husband and I really enjoy coming here. Were excited to see the new pool once finished. Hopefully by last week of Oct!

If you want your kids to learn at a snails pace this place is for you. We tried it two different years because of the warm waters and friendly staff but were fooled twice and ended up forfeiting the last four sessions (the advance notice required) both times. Just couldn’t bear watching our son having to waste time in waters two levels below his abilities. He’s now learning much more quickly elsewhere.

I have been a Member in and off since their Grand Opening and what I like is they are constantly improving the facility and offering more options. The downfall is is expensive. I wish they offered more membership options. I also would like if they included a couple free passes to their members every once in a while so we can bring guests.

My daughter and son were taking swim class here. I had the opportunity to leave work early one day and watch my daughter in her class while my husband took my son to the parent and me class.I sat with her for the first 15 minutes of her 30 minute class watching her split the time with the three other children in the class. Then her and two other girls were taken to the deep end and asked to sit on the ledge. I watched while for the next 10 minutes while one of the two other girls was provided guidance on swimming in the deep end while my daughter and one other girl sat. Then they went back to their section of the pool their lesson was and joined the boy that had been with the second teacher getting 1:1 time. I then sat and watched as my daughter was left on the steps for the remaining five minutes. After the class the teacher came up to me and told me my child was doing really well. I lost it, she had literally sat for more than half her lesson while I was right there!I called a few days later and left a message saying I wanted to remove my children from the school. Never heard back. I then called a week later and asked to speak with a manager and told the customer service representative it was because I wanted to remove my children from the program. she let me know I could do that online, to which I replied, I didn’t want to be charged for the month. She then said I did need to speak with a manager, but they were out and that she’d leave a message. Still no call back. finally I called back and was able to speak with a manager. He said I had to put in my 30 days notice and that despite the fact that the school had essentially neglected my daughter and taken our money without providing her (and one other poor child) swimming lessons that day they were charging me through the following month. We came from a much more personal swim club before. This is not the case here. You are just a number, I was so taken aback. my trust in the entire club was lost that day, but the way they handled the cancellation was shocking. Unfortunately they don’t care much about their customers here.

I did visit and planned on joining but, I was extremely underwhelmed.Pros:Pool, jacuzzi.Gym section is not too crowded.Cons:$$$ expensive.Pool was crowded, lots of loud kids.I found the staff to be mostly unhelpful teens,The locker and steam rooms and jacuzzi were filthy and bad smelling. The hours are limited, closed some days and only till 8 PM on weekends.Better gym deals elsewhere.

Watch out. They were charging my card automatically every month. Last month I noticed they charged $25 for late fee. When they are collecting monthly fee every month automatically, where does the late fee come from? DAY TIME ROBBERY!!!Check your statements every time. Otherwise, they will steal your money. !!!!!

This place is amazing! Theres no other place like AVAC. It has a beautiful pool area complete with a palm tree, rimmed hot tub. The place looks like a resort so you can imagine youre in Hawaii relaxing at the pool. This health club also has indoor hot tubs in the womens and mens locker rooms. They have powerful jets to soothe sore muscles. They also offer great classes and have a suprisingly extensive and delicious snack bar/cafe complete with slushies in the summer! I cant say enough good things about this place. To me, its the jewel of San Jose!

This review is for the AVAC Swim School: My son just turned 7 and has been so fearful of putting his whole face in the water. He hasnt shown any interest in learning to swim even though weve tried for years and years. I heard about the AVAC Swim School and how kids who never got in the water would now be swimming. I dont know if its the atmosphere, natural peer pressure or what but now my son is swimming. I was brought to tears watching him glide in and kick with his head down. #momprobs Hes had 2 lessons and begs to go back in the pool. Its weird & awesome and Im so happy with the progress already. I highly recommend getting your kid in, even if just for a short period of time. Well worth the money and its been the only thing thats worked for us.

Very bad experience. My daughter can swim in three style,we joined AVAC to learn butterfly stroke. For almost four months, they just let us stuty at very low level. The coach changed frequently without our consent. I talked to the manager, didnt work. They just dont let us upgrade. Different coach has different criteria. Of course my daughter is not perfect, we dont have to be an athlete,we just want to learn something new.Is that too much to ask?

Customer service is the worst that I have ever had! It’s impossible to call them.. They almost never call back.. my sun and I were sick, and we have missed almost two months of swimming classes. When I tried to stop pay for the classes, they told me that they have already taken my money for one more month! and they don’t do a refund! Never go to this swimming school again!

Parking is hard to find most of the days. Rescheduling classes is a pain based on who you talked to at the front desk. Most of the teachers Junior and they are good with kids.
