Awesome gym. Diverse range of people. Very sociable atmosphere. If you enjoy bouldering, top rope or lead climbing or just want to work out this is the club/gym for you.

Love this place! Not the largest climbing, or the most features. Good variety and a chill vibe. Highly recommended!

This was my first time visiting this gym, and overall, I had a good time. My only issue was how people would sit down on the ground near the back bouldering wall, despite the fact that the space is very narrow and creating a hazard for anyone climbing a nearby route. This is not the gyms fault, its more of a concern as I didnt want to accidentally land on someone whom decided to sit down right in the path of my descent. The routes were challenging, but a lot of fun. I just wish the bouldering space was bigger so people could spread out and not have to squeeze together.

Great place to learn the sport of climbing. Not just how to climb, but the etiquette associated with the pastime. Friendly, knowledgeable and supportive staff. Good alternative exercise options as well including yoga, weights, etc.

Im going here once in 1-2 months (to allow full bouldering reset). It has small bouldering area but it feels nice there. Setting is pretty good with good variety of routes for all levels. Though generally there are only 1-2 V9-10 and nothing harder (for any crushers out there). V7-V8 level is more stocked and gives me a good challenge every time.

Youve been working all day, youre visiting, youre on a honeymoon - what to do with downtown or with all that extra energy? Climb a wall! They have great facilities and service is top notch. Its lots of fun and they take efforts with safety and your personal experience. There are other events that take place there too - like Yoga, exercise classes and lots of other activities!

Great location, food and drinks near by, great staff. Climbing area isnt huge but it dose the trick. Day passes are like 25$ so it makes more sense to get a membership if your going to be going more then a few times a month. They do offer a student discount.

Today we went to the Studio for the first time, and it wasnt a bad experience overall. We enjoyed the diversity of the holds and the amount of climbs. One disappointment was the customer service. Considering how awesomely friendly and easygoing the climbing community is, the guy at the reception (with a beard) was surprisingly rude. He seemed annoyed that we came and bothered him. The question of where to go after we paid, he just chose to ignore.Another thing is that the price is quite steep and they dont have student discounts.

Great facility especially for top roping. Parking can be tricky at night on weekdays. Bouldering section is a little bit small and there is not much spaces between wall - sometime it is to crowded. Overall, great gym for climbing.

Compact climbing gym, but they pack a pretty big punch! There are a variety of different levels of climbs and a some interesting walls with stemming in corners and some holes on the walls. Very challenging and intellectually stimulating!Beware that the belay test is pretty strict here. You arent allowed to even practice if you want to get the blue belay card. You gotta just walk in and test. Harsh!

Come here from time to time for a day pass and to climb. Great date bonding! Had a blast communicating with my SO and supporting him as he climbed easy and complex routes and vice versa. A great physical date for those who are up for a mental and physical challenge. Reasonable prices and has not been super busy where you have to wait for routes. Staff is super friendly and nice too!

$25 for a day pass to just boulder is downright thievery. Im offended they can even say that with a straight face.I pay $60 a month back home for a big beautiful gym with fewer people, more climbing space and a better gym.Bouldering and toprope passes should be separated so you dont get gutted if you just want to boulder.

Came here on a Tuesday evening and loved it. I usually do bouldering and wasnt disappointed with either the dedicated bouldering area or the few bouldering problems mixed in with the rope climbs. I also tried some of the rope climbs and while I dont have anything to compare to, the routes were interesting and sufficiently tiring at lengths of maybe 30ft. It made a refreshing change to come climbing somewhere that wasnt completely rammed. Will definitely visit next time Im in town.

Even though my main gym membership is at PG Sunnyvale I really love it when I have an excuse to stop in here. The vibe is much more mellow than PG and the routes have a different feel as well. If youre looking for a new climbing home or just looking for a new gym to check out I would strongly recommend giving The Studio a shot. If I lived closer I would spend the majority of my time at this gym.

Been to this place only once so please take my comment with a grain of salt.As a regular climber at PG Sunnyvale, therere a lot to complain about this gym just because its smaller and less popular (maybe because I went on Sunday..). But there are some upsides too: its usually quieter than PG and less waiting.. The paths are generally well set with more bendy climbs, more hanging than PG overall (kind of an unfair comparison but oh well.. )One thing I must complain and warn is parking is pretty hard as this place is in downtown San Jose..

Really disappointed! I have been there a few times along my friends and I was going to open a membership also, but one staff whose name is Chris has a very bad attitude and any time we arrived there, he kept us waiting for minutes(trying to finish his food or whatever to keep us waiting in front of the desk!) He is also so rude and does not talk to us appropriately. I AM NOT OPENING A MEMBERSHIP FOR SURE AND MY FRIENDS ARE CANCELING THEIRS.

An old movie theater that was turned into a climbing gym. Super friendly and helpful staff. While it might not be as big as planet granite, it rarely gets as busy.A largely sjsu student crowd, you can find a bouldering wall, many top rope and lead routes, yoga and fitness studio, a TRX room, and basic gym equipment as well. Routes change about every two months, with red Xs marking routes to be taken down.

I only did bouldering. The number of routes was small and the quarters were cramped. It was a bit dark (indoor lighting was insufficient) and there was no natural light. The mens bathroom was sufficient, but I wouldnt call it nice. There were only two showers. The front desk person was friendly.

This is my second home now. Im slowly getting back into training and this place is so supportive and friendly! Everyone feels like family. All of the instructors have been wonderful about working around my shoulder issues. I no longer have my left teres 50 minor (8 year old complete tear that was never reattached) and other portions of my rotator cuff were partially torn at different times during different sports. After having the last 5 years off of any serious training, Ive had to ease back into everything and include a LOT of PT.They should definitely replace their Cliff Bars with Quest bars though!

Its an indoor climbing gym remodeled from a movie theater with quite a few top ropes installed. A 9-year-old son used Kids belay to enjoy top rope climbing with an instructor for children. When I received it at 13:25, there was vacancy from 13:45, so I was instructed to come back a few minutes before that. At the beginning, the same instructor was watching three children, so I had to wait in line, but I wanted to be able to climb one by one from the middle. The time is one hour, but it seems that one hour was just right due to arm fatigue. The instructor carefully taught and encouraged the route, so my son has a rating of 5 stars. The toilet is clean. You can get a ticket to get free parking at PARKSJ.
