Dr. Mac and staff are exceptional professionals and will exceed your expectations in their knowledge and professionalism. Everyone is extremely helpful and friendly. Dr. Mac is very socialable and a genuine nice guy. He takes care of my family and its a joy to see him every year.

Fantastic staff! Lisa easily determined my insurance coverage. Steve made it easy for me to choose the right frame. Ruth make sure my new glasses fit and Dr. Mac was there to answer any of my questions even though I did not have an eye exam appt.

Although I no longer live in the Bay Area, when Berryessa Optometry was recommended to me, I used them exclusively until I moved out of state. I received the absolute BEST tri focals ever. No head adjustments needed, no bobbing my head around, just super great glasses.

We received excellent service from Dr Mac and all the staffs. It pretty much redefines our expectations on optometry shops.

I give 1 star because i really do not like the process and feel the staff was really unprofessional. It took me more than 1,200 for the exams, contacts and a pair of glasses. The staff did not explains the details about the 200 extra eye exams fee and just asked me if i am comfortable with that. I am not given the result of my eyes after spending that much. Also the staff made choice for me when he should have asked for my needs. They did not provide even the shipping information. I feel it has been really upsetting.I think they could be more honest and transparent.

Absolutely the best Optometry I have been to.Dr. Mac is very professional, competent and takes the time to explain everything.They have the latest lab equipment/instruments to test your eyes.The staff is super polite and friendly.I am glad I found them online and to me they are worth a drive from my home in Pebble Beach.

All the crucial examinations before vision grade check are performed by a non-physician non-technician person. I havent received a comment about eye pressure. I have a good insurance and apparently they were focusing on how to extract benefits as much as possible.

This optometry overcharge you.I went to buy prescription sunglasses. I opted for Maui Jim Beaches sunglasses.The frames were priced at $440. But, their actual cost is $349.99 only. I got them for $232(My insurance offered $150 on the frames and 20% discount above $150 frames cost). So, I paid $232 for the frames.For the lenses and lenses enhancements I paid another $292.So, I paid a total of $232 + $292 = $524.But, these frames(with polarized sunglasses) are available at $349.99(plus taxes around $32) only at mau jims portal and also at other optometry in San Jose.When I contacted the store manager the very next morning to cancel the order, he refused to cancel it saying the order had already been sent to Mau Jim lab. He didnt even try contacting Maui Jim to see if he could cancel it. I then contacted Maui Jim directly. They said, I can absolutely cancel the order with Berryessa optometry and that they would be able to call into their RX lab(Mau jims) and get that cancelled. But, Berryessa optometry never tried doing that.The store manager also advised me to proceed with my current order and that I can visit other optometry for all my future purchases.

Been a patient of Dr Mac for a few years now. He’s super friendly, knowledgeable and the visits are always quick but not feel rushed. As a mom of 2, I really appreciate that because I’m always on the go, constantly running out of time. Very professional staff, never had a problem with them. They had some interesting new technology too to take pictures of the back of the retina so we can see the eyes health.

Fantastic Place, I went in for new glasses because my old ones were pretty much done. They were able to squeeze me in he very next day for a visit and they were able to dilate my eyes, check my eyes and pick glasses all in the same day! It also was important my frames be plastic because I work next to a gigantic magnetic, so metal frames would pull into the machine, and they were able to get me these great plastic games with blue screen tinting. I will definitely come back for my next appointment!

On my latest visit, I found that everyone at Berryessa Optometry is still helpful and knowledgeable. The pre-exam by the optical technician was very thorough (I elected to use the machine that does retinal imaging which helps the doctor during his exam), then I had a great exam by Dr. Mac (who is friendly, patient, and honest - hell let you know what you dont need as well as what you do need), and a lot of excellent help from the optometrist when I looked at eyeglass options.The shop is comfortable and inviting, and with the great service, I would recommend it to anyone needing to have their eyes examined and then purchase vision products afterwards. Plus, they accept most vision insurance plans and this will usually cover half the cost of eyeglasses, contacts, etc.

I have been coming to Berryessa Optometry since I was in third grade (now 29). They have such a large selection of beautiful frames. They always work with you to make sure you are truly satisfied with your visit. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. I remember a few years ago I lost my glasses and didn’t have any contacts to wear. They were able to bring me in and gave me some contacts to wear until my new glasses came in. I have been a long term customer and will always be!

They do typically urge you to get new glasses every year (which can get expensive), so if you dont want to get new ones, you have to be very firm and say no. Other than this, they are a great business and I always enjoy coming back.

Dr. Mac, my optometrist, is friendly, knowledgeable, and always a pleasure to see. If you live in the neighborhood, this is where you want to go. Although I moved to SF, I still come down here once a year (it helps to still have family in the area).

Every visit has been great. Dr. Mac and the staff are amazing. They are friendly and walk me through each step of my annual exam every time. When it came to picking new frames, it was a breeze and also very helpful to take suggestions from an expert.Dr. Mac is very detailed and made sure I understood what the current state of my eyes was. They have a new imaging machine that is pretty cool and shows the layers of your eye. This helps determine your risk for Macular degeneration and I was pleased to find out I am low risk!Very professional. Great selection on frames and sunglasses. I have always enjoyed my visits at this office!

My case is complicated. Last time, I had to visit the optometrist several times to get the contact fit properly. This time, with thorough preparation and professional work, Dr. Mac was able to get my contact fit perfectly in one visit. Very impressed. All the staff at the office are also very courteous, helpful and friendly. Very good experience.

Staff is very helpful and really take the time to help you understand your insurance and what yours covers. They also listen to what you are looking for and help to find glasses that fit you. The doctors also listen and take care of your needs and help explain anything that you may not understand. I like going here and would recommend Berryessa Optometry.

Even before I stepped into the office I experienced great customer service from Lisa who tried and tried to get us into an earlier date since we had to book 3 months out to get a Saturday or evening. We received a phone call to check on us since we had underestimated traffic and were running a few minutes late, and once we arrived we were greeted by the wonderful aroma of peppermint diffusing in the office. The assistant who did my daughters pre-check was super nice and Dr. Mac himself was awesome! I can see why the appointments are few and far between. For some reason this office always has the styles of (regular) eyeglasses and sunglasses I like so I have no trouble going in there and picking out my glasses. The staff is nice and most especially, Dr. Lim is so nice--very patient and pleasant and I highly recommend giving them a chance, guarantee youll like them.

This place is good but expensive. I chose one regular eye glasses (Marchon Nike 8178). After the cost deduction from discount price and insurance cover, the exam and eye glasses costs me over $731 in total. High Index and progressive are three times the cost from other places. If you want to save money, dont come here.

Just dropped in and had my first exam with Dr. Lim. Very careful and professional service. My last prescription from somewhere else was not accurate, it makes my head hurts if I wear for more than few minutes. I have slightly myopia, normally I dont wear glasses except when I am driving. Dr. Lim figured it out and lowered the strength of glasses. Thanks to him and his team! I will come back for sure to have annual exam and make recommendations. Actually, I have done the referrals already.
