Dr Victor Cheng was very meticulous in diagnosing my conditions. This was my first acupuncture ever. The moment he left me with the needles I slept like a baby and woke up much refreshed. I would highly recommend the Dr and Acupuncture treatment.

The very first time that I met Dr.Cheng and I described my conditions, he was very honest and said your condition is very complicated and it takes sometimes to heal you. Dr.Cheng is a very caring, concerned,and kind doctor. I saw a lot of different doctors in the past. named alternative doctors,and different kind of therapists.None of them were able to help me until I met Dr.Cheng. He is an excellent doctor. I highly recommend him to every body. I am a lot better since I have been Dr.Cheng patient. I will continue seeing him until I get well.

This review is long overdue. I have been seeing Victor since 2014 with various medical issues. While western doctors fails to make me feel better nor can they give me an explanation, Victor magically make me feel better everytime with his herbs/acupuncture techniques.What sets Victor apart is he knows both Chinese and western medicine very well. Bases on the syndromes and western diagnosis(blood test etc) he is able to use Chinese medicine to treat the root cause of the condition, thus eliminating the issue for me once and for all.He is also very innovative and experimental in his approach. When one approach does not work as effectively, he is willing to try different things and optimize the results.I am very happy to find Victor in the bay area! I would highly recommend Victor to anyone who is looking for a TCM doctor!

SCAM - DO NOT TRUSTDespite the good reviews, my experience with Victor in the San Jose office has been a waste of time, money, and energy. I have been seeing acupuncturists for approximately 15 years now and Victor has been the first to yield 0 results and run business in a silly and ridiculous manner.Initially, Victor confidently made a diagnosis and told me 2-3 weeks should relieve my pain. I went diligently and stuck with the herbal tea as directed, but after a couple weeks of no improvement, Victor started asking if I had gotten blood work, CT scans, and MRIs done (all of which I have done), as if to imply he couldnt address any conditions that were actual medical conditions identified by Western medicine. His confidence in the diagnosis seemed to grow weak.About a month in, I was still not feeling better, to which he said this is harder than I thought. It will take 2-3 more months of treatment... up to 800% longer than his original estimate!! Still, I gave him the benefit of the doubt and continued to follow his direction.About two months into the treatment, today, I went in for a treatment and let him know that despite not having an appointment in two weeks and not taking the herbal tea, I felt better until a few days ago. His response was thats improbable. I also let him know that I had a new symptom, to which he FORCED me to sign a waiver to exclude him from liability. This is not how acupuncture works - acupuncture takes into your situation as a whole as opposed to treating individual symptoms.I went through my final appointment, to which Victor disregarded techniques such as wiping down areas with isopropyl alcohol prior to setting the needles. He also had no regard for properly setting the needles, sending jarring pain down body as he placed each needle - I have never felt such pain receiving acupuncture before. I do believe that Victor is not professional in his practice.TL;DRThere has not been any improvement to my condition after two months, and I am out over $1,300

The best acupuncturist Ive ever been treated by!Ive been going to acupuncturist for over 20 years now, experiencing the work of more than 10 different specialists. Victor Cheng and Sewon Kim are very special. They give me full confidence in their knowledge of the human body - what my ailments and injuries are and how to treat them.6 weeks ago I was in a bicycle accident and broke my collar bone. I also caused severe damage to my shoulder and upper arm. I immediately began acupuncture and physical therapy with Victor Cheng. I was told by my Kaiser doctors that I should expect 8-12 weeks recovery with 4-6 months of physical therapy after that. Well, its been 6 weeks now and I am at 80% mobility and feel improvement every day. Ive been working with Western allopathic physicians for over two years for a severe GI condition stemming from a gut parasite infection. Treatments included a very strong and extremely expensive anti-parasitic prescription followed by years of doctor-recommended pre-and pro-biotics, and dietary restrictions...all this was unsuccessful, and left me suffering daily. Although I had no previous experience with TCM treatments, I wanted to give this modality a try, and Dr. Cheng came highly recommended by a trusted family member (whos 40+ year career was as a nurse in allopathic medicine). My own background included a Masters degree in a science-based field, and over 20 years as a research associate for the pharmaceutical industry; I was hopeful for a positive outcome, but by no means convinced I would see believable or significant results. After only a few months of TCM treatments by Dr. Cheng (acupuncture and herbal remedies), my long-standing GI issues began to noticeably shift toward normalcy. I have been seeing Dr Cheng on and off since the beginning of 2018 for issues like dry eyes, dizziness, headache, back pain, high bp, etc. , all the symptoms of an aging body. If you never been treated with Traditional Chinese medicine before you should definitely give Dr. Cheng and Dr. Kim a try because they are not only very knowledgeable with Eastern medical treatment but also Western medical treatment as well. And after 3 weeks of herbal medicine proscribed by Dr. Cheng I noticed my hair falls a lot less then before and I feel I had a lot more energy and I no longer feel cold in the summer anymore!!!Bottom line is if you are having illness that western medicine cant fix, you should give Dr. Cheng and Dr. Kim a try because I feel like my recovery rate is amazing that I didnt even know it is possible to heal this fast.

Experiencing chinese medicine for yourself is a must. Victor Cheng is knowledgeable and can explain the reasoning behind his prescriptions very well in both chinese and english. As a testament to his knowledge, my wife has been taking metformin for diabetes for years now, and her health has been constantly in flux, not to mention the side effects of metformin (or any pharmaceutical). With Victors herbal prescriptions my wife no longer takes metformin, and her blood sugar is normal, about 95 two hours after a meal, about 105 morning fasting. I personally experienced a miracle in my sleep, i had been unable to sleep at all for months, turning and waking every 30 minutes, it began affecting my body and mind, i went to the hospital several times worried about my heart, then i tried the chinese herbal route, and now i feel healthy as a horse, and i hit the pillow and am out like a light within minutes, like a kid again. Highly reccomend this to anyone who is looking for solutions for their whole body health, thousands of years of medicinal research cant be wrong i guess.
