Saw one of the St. Pauls San Diego PACE vans. Looked them up online and was able to enroll my uncle who has chronic conditions and struggles to take care of himself. They helped out with MediCal and made the process so easy. We are so grateful for their service and everything they do for our community.

PACE & their angels, have literally changed my life! I found out about them, after ending up in the hospital with blood clots, that traveled to both my lungs.I finally have an entire team, that meets all of my needs. Not only do they take care of my medical needs, my prescriptions, but I have a Nutritionist, a Social worker, Rehab for my knees, a Psychologist for depression, as well as our own Chef! The atmosphere here, is always upbeat, warm, and friendly. Right away, I felt better as their staff put a smile on my face again! I love that they decorate for various holidays, have entertainment, and games and crafts. I love these people!Once I assured my 93 yr. Old mother, that I was well taken care of, I think she felt she could pass on. Pass on she did, FEB 10th, 2019. I feel better, knowing that I shared everything, about PACE, with her. Ill be okay now, Mom. Mothers never stop worrying about their family, no matter how old we are.Thank you PACE angels, for making my life a whole lot easier, and worry free!

I was called into PACE, and told that I was being released from their care. The reason? I lost my Medi-Cal. They took back my walker, they made me sign a supposed “voluntary” resign sheet, and showed me the door. I was NOT told about any options to Medi-Cal. I was not told that I had the option to pay, until I got my Medi-Cal back. What a smoke screen, this turned out to be! Its all about the money folks. I already had Healthnet in place through Medicare. I have now been without any doctor or RX for 7 months ! I was referred to PACE after a blood clot emergency, through a Social Worker, at Mercy Hospital. I was grateful at first! They have no idea how scared and abandoned I felt. Brittany needs to learn some social skills!

St. Pauls PACE is a program that includes all inclusive care for the elderly, if you are accepted into their program. I was invited to visit them twice and I thought that their program was outstanding ; it is a wonderful organization for seniors - especially for those whos applicants are at least 65 years of age or over yet, I was told that they accept many homeless, as well as immigrants into their selection process: Its primarily based on a final opinion, which is determined by the subjective analysis/judgments of their own psychiatrist and physician.Their seniors-as candidates-must be accepted by these two professionals, in order to become a part of their program. Their platform offers on site meals, yoga classes, group walks and myriad other activities, which leaves you with many opportunities. If you are accepted, you must give up your old medical insurance and in return, they take care of you; you can get vision, dental and a good medical insurance program; also sometimes get a furnished Section 8 type apartment : This applies only to a very few who are accepted into their program or from other homeless programs like PATH, etc.Because the place that I was living in burned down, I never never qualified to enter any such programs.Although I had a friend help me for months, I found out that San Diego has no agencies to help disaster victims who have virtually lost everything.I was treated nicely by most of PACEs staff however, their social worker who came to PATH to select individuals for Section 8 apartments, just didnt seem to like me. Two of the medications that I took didnt meet with their specifications;one of PATHs homeless applicants told me that I was prejudiced.Im sure that this played a big part in whether I was accepted or not. When I saw PACEs psychiatrist, he told me that one of my medications caused amnesia and that it helped perpetuate one detrimental psychiatric condition ( The medication supposedly causes dementia however, it is used primarily to treat anxiety ) Any physician with a PDR, can usually find a list of harmful side effects, as some medications have a list of a hundreds, so mine was a piece of cake! One out of about 30.The PACE psychiatrists solution was diagnose me and then to probably prescribe me a number of antidepressants instead, causing some to gain extreme weight and even become suicidal .I was there many decades ago and nearly died.Three individuals in my family have (had) dementia/Alzheimers however, none have taken any strong psychotropic medications. The other medication, is for pain and is non-addictive : The current St. Pauls psychiatrist talked down to me. It happened when he looked me in the face and told me what he thought I was and I was extremely hurt.Ive spent my life dealing with people ; there isnt any psychiatrist who cant find a pill to prescribe you, that you desperately dont need and that probably one reason why I didnt make their cut.Its happened to me twice with extremely addictive medications; I desperately needed surgery instead and I strongly believe that these doctors helped to ruin my life.Due to their diagnosis and my refusal to take oher medications, which were never discussed with me-I was told by my primary, that some medications would be harmful to my health. Thus, I was rejected from their plan.At first they seem like the nicest people in the world to me, yet my case was different especially after 8 torturous months at PATH.The PATH residents-who were all selected homeless street people rejected me and their staff never put me in their Program.A prescription for a window- in a building thatapparently had none-was Amelia Bs chance to hand me my graduation card, so I could be sent to Senior Center,etc.,etc.,etc.Then to a hometell full of bed bugs and roaches and into a 100 sq. ft.room with few amenities. What a life.
