This is my go to place for lunch. Easily the best sandwiches for $5-$7. No one even comes close to them. Outside of their amazing sandwiches, they have great produce, meat and seafood. Truly a community market. Its like Whole Foods without the high price points. Staff are always friendly and helpful. A gem in the Del Cerro neighborhood.

Great place to stop when you’re traveling for the restroom. It’s kind of like a Sprouts. Great hiking snacks selection.

Love the deli sandwiches at Windmill. I go there about once a week. Great value for the sandwiches, and one of the better delis in the Del Cerro area. Love the pre packed pastas/salad area as well.

Windmill farms has one if the best delis in East County. The grocery store if full of great produce and unique and high quality brands. We usually shop here when were looking for good organic products or a great deal on some meat or fish. Friendly staff and easy and quick to get what you need for a great meal.

This is the only store is great especially for unique and hard to find items namely strawberry rhubarb pie from Jullian Pie Company.

It’s like you’re bothering employees to ask a question. Couldn’t find the brand I always purchase; was told by gentleman “nothing has changed” (e.g., you’re crazy). Turns out packaging COMPLETELY changed/new brand update. I’m going to purchase it online going forward; not worth the aggravation.

This store is good based on my experiences. People were nice when I was there and they have a good variety of everything. It is definitely not a budget friendly store so keep that in mind when going there to shop but that isnt to say it is over priced. They carry better quality of items so like anything in life of you want quality you have to pony up for it. If your familiar with Sprouts this store is very similar. Not sure if they are associated.

My favorite place for organic/ hipster food stuffs, they have a pretty good selection of craft brews and also a good selection of suppliments. Staff is friendly and helpful and theres rarely a long line to check out.

Very well stocked with wholesome and natural foods of all varieties. A vegan and healthy eating Mecca. Quite a large specialty market. You could spend hours browsing. If you like creative food options this is a must visit place.

Great neighborhood grocery store with an awesome deli. Unfortunately the new website sucks. It’s impossible anymore to see the sandwich menu online. Instead they turned the whole online experience over to an independent shopping website. I’m sure sandwiches are buried between dog food and onions. Too bad.Addendum-Store reached out with the link windmillfarms.net to see the menu. They should realize they are competing with themselves when they sign on with the grocery delivery service, Mercato and as far as SEO goes I think Mercato has the deeper pockets so they come up much higher in the search engine than the above link. Something to consider? Maybe put a link to the sandwich menu on the Mercato site?

I dont live close to Windmill Farms but try to make a point of pulling off on College Ave if Im on the I-8 freeway just to shop at this perfectly sized store. It isnt pretentious but it could be. Thank goodness it is a simple, very friendly grocery store. I love how many gluten free choices they have. What other store can you find homemade single serving GF lasagna at or a real sandwich from their deli and actually get GF bread instead of another lettuce wrap? Thank you Windmill Farms!

Good selection of produce and specialty items. Store was at average capacity for a weekday. No line to get in. Deli was busy, though. Requested a special cut from the butcher and got it within 10 mins. The meat case is not large, so dont hesitate to ask for a product or portion size you dont see. Plenty of parking. One of my favorite neighborhood markets.

On 8-28-20, I was Visiting my Daughter and She Mentioned that this was Her Favorite Place get good Deli, Veggies so we got Some Great Meat, Cheese and Even Dinner! Everything was Great & Good Prices! I Highly recommend to Anyone, especially Travelers from Out of the Area! A Bonus is the Very Lovely, Clean, Friendly Goodwill Next to it! 👍

Walked in at 8:28 went to get a sandwich at the deli told they were closed at 8:30 stores open till nine but they would not make me a sandwich. The young man behind the meat counter was rude said “Nah man you missed it the 12 to 830 already left!” I looked up and down the counter and saw no signs saying that deli closes at 8:30 let alone 8:28.

They provided numerous healthy food options and a wide variety of cooked food. Also, the staff that was working out there were very good communicators, kind, and professional. Thank you!

I called ahead to see if they carried a particular product. The young lady that answered wasnt sure. So she asked me to hold and check. Came back within a minute and confirmed product was available. I came and couldnt locate the item and a nice young man assisted me to locate it. This experience was such an incredible display of customer service. Talk about first impressions, Thank you Windmill! Recycling place sucks. Owner shows up whenever he pleases so there is a line 15 -20 feet away from their booth. Cant even separate your stuff. Youre at the owners mercy...

This store has become my favorite during the pandemic. I have shopped there for years, but have come to rely on this store lately. One of the worst experiences. The only time I came here i went for a sandwich and I had to add half the stuff i wanted myself at home. My sandwich had about 6 slices of ham 2 pieces of cucumber and onion and no tomato. They added lettuce which i did not ask for. I came home and had to add more cucumber and onion and tomato rather then being able to enjoy my meal right away. I was told highly of this place and was very disappointed.

Great place if youre looking for healthy food

Note: windmill has awesome food and I love it here. I come all the time and usually have an amazing experience but today I felt super degraded by the sandwich chef that I have to say something. She needs a lesson on basic politeness and respect. I usually hate telling people my name at places that serve food because people make it awkward when they try to pronounce it but I thought this establishment was classy so I told the sandwich people my name.When my sandwich was up she looked at me and laughed and kind of gestures a whatever look. It was pretty humiliating. She didn’t try to say my name, didn’t say sorry. Didn’t say a word. Just gave me this look that was really upsetting. It wasn’t a friendly laugh by any means. People say my name wrong all the time or don’t say it at all and it doesn’t bother me, but her gesture and attitude was probably the worst experience I’ve had. Never coming back if she’s working. Maybe she spat in my food. Not sure what her problem was.Oh and the sandwich was made incorrectly.The new sandwich girl was really nice, it’s the girl that’s usually there I’m referring to.

Awesome little grocery chain. They are sort of like a less corporate version of Sprouts. The interior of the store is a little more industrial that most other stores, but they have awesome produce and really great prices. Had to stop there the day before Thanksgiving for some stuffing ingredients and was super happy. Their bulk sausage meat was so good!

Had exactly what I was looking for and even though it was super busy the check out lines were quick.

This is a great farmers market in a convenient location just off I-8. They have wide variety of fresh vegetables, fruits, meats, bakery and dairy products, deli, spices, beans and also vitamins and other good stuff. We have been going here for the past 6 years for fresh ingredients as we like to cook at home. Their deli serves great, healthy and delicious food. Their prices are very fair. Something you cant see in big stores.

The best thing about Windmill is their deli counter for great sandwiches and the beer selection. When it comes to being a natural food grocer the prices can been a little on the steeper end, especially compared to Sprouts or Trader Joe’s. They also have quite a good selection of vegetarian and vegan alternatives but you pay a premium.

Windmall Farms is an awesome place thats family owned an operated. There are plenty of organic and unique food options, comparable to variety of Whole Foods. Plus, a large selection of green- friendly products throughout the store. They also have a bakery and food deli preparing on the daily.Theyre a little expensive on a few products, but its understandable when youre a mom and pop of the neighborhood competing with Mission Valley and the surrounding college area.I highly suggest paying them a visit.

I had been going to or having others bring their food, sandwiches, etc for a number of years until I moved away from San Diego a year ago. Still in the area but far from convenient. Well, I stopped in yesterday to get some lunch food and what a joyous moment when I dropped face-first into their chicken sandwich and followed up with the Lindsey special.... I almost fainted from sheer joy...... they are great with old time customer service that is unparalleled. Get there any way you can and enjoy it all......... 😎👌

Fruits and vegetables looked very fresh and well displayed. Lots of healthy products, non- gluten choices, terrific salad bar, friendly customer service and clean store. I did not stay long as I had to attend an appt but plan to return.I highly recommend this smaller market that advertises locally grown products!

Great market to shop at. Similar feel to Sprouts, but even better. $3.99-$4.99 deli sandwiches made in front of you. Great deal and delicious. Dont forget to get a buy 7 get 8th free card. Food quality is good, prices are competitive, and staff is friendly.

I want to first say, this is a great store, there is a great selection of produce and snacks to choose from that is fairly priced. I enjoy shopping here, I really do. I never had any problems with anyone or anything until one day I made a slight error on the pinpad which took me out of the transaction. I apologized, and strangely so, the cashier huffed and puffed about it then she took my card and ran it through again herself. I was like wow that was very rude, and for that reason I give this place a 3 star.

Wonderful family owned grocer. Super close to home with unique products for all types of chefs. Sometimes the produce is suspect but the beer selection is wonderful.

Sweet place to go when your a student at state. They offer a discount for the first couple months of the semester for your groceries. I especially went here for their sandwiches which are nine times better than 4.0 and the cause of many debates. Try it for yourself and get a Lindsey Special.
