I want to thank Hanabusa IVF, Dr. Leblanc and my nurse Daphne for giving me such a good experience. They helped make the process as easy as possible from start to finish. I just had my retrieval a few days ago and it went very smoothly. After waking up from anesthesia I only felt a bit drowsy and sore, other than that I felt fine. No complications and almost no pain. Big thanks to nurse Daphne for taking such good care of me after my retrieval to make sure I feel comfortable. I recovered rapidly and now Im feeling great. Thank you again for everything! :)

Dr. Chang is absolutely amazing doctor among our RE I have ever seen. He is knowledgeable, patient, listening, and empathizing. He spent almost 2 hours in our first video consultation with us, and he went through our fertility history very carefully, and tried to answer any question we asked. He never pushed us into IVF directly, hed like to introduces methods to boost our fertility based on our situation.

Hanabusa IVF is a breath of fresh air in the often heartbreaking world of IVF! We were referred to another clinic within our health insurance network and received such disappointing treatment that we sought out other options. My acupuncturist recommended Hanabusa for their customized treatment, particularly with older patients, and we havent looked back! Dr. Chang is kind, knowledgeable, and eager to get to the bottom of things. He sees each patient, and each cycle, as unique and truly cares about the outcome. The clinic staff and nurses are all sweethearts and make you feel so welcome. IVF isnt cheap, but Hanabusas prices are transparent and fair.Were still on our journey, but optimistic about the future and our treatment at Hanabusa!

I recently switched to Hanabusa after failing three rounds of IVF at another facility. They have been very supportive and understanding. Their pricing is fair and you only pay for what you do - like egg retrieval cost is based on numbers of eggs retrieved. I can’t say that I’ve gotten pregnant yet, but I am hopeful it will happen this year. Infertility is difficult and no one understands more than Hanabusa. As a bonus they even have a free support group for those who struggle with infertility. I’m so happy I made the switch I just wish I would have done so sooner.

Dr. Chang is simply the best. He always keeps our best interest in mind and caters every decision to our needs/wants. Heizl Irwin is also the best and the entire staff is so helpful and caring. We are incredibly grateful to have found Hanabusa!

Great place and pricing for IVF. Communication with all staff is great. They listen and make sure you have the best experience and program that suits your needs and budget. Wish I would have used them before another IVF facility.

Would give it 0 stars if I could. Worst experience I have ever had after 5 egg donations. I told them that I was prone to OHSS, and the doctor assured me that they would take care of me. That was a lie. I got no help from them after my procedure. They even refused to write me a prescription for pain medication, even though I just had a surgery and was experiencing symptoms of OHSS. I asked repeatedly to speak to the doctor who was performing my surgery, and they never had him speak to me. Nobody should have to go through a surgery with 0 support, and not even having the chance to talk to the surgeon. Absolutely disgusting. AVOID THIS CLINIC IF YOU VALUE YOUR LIFE AND COMFORT. I wouldnt wish them upon my worst enemy. They will be hearing from my lawyer very soon for this malpractice.

3. I was a patient who had taken IVF operations many times in Hanabusa IVF clinic and suffered a medical accident in 2019. Over a year and a half since then, the clinics delays and deception, even insults and abuse have caused endless injuries to me. This is what the Hanabusa IVF clinic said We did our absolute best. The malicious actions of the clinic could not make this medical incident and its serious consequences no longer existent. This is such a big irony. More details of this matter will let us see a real Hanabusa IVF clinic under deceptive appearance. With real experience for reference.2. After this serious medical incident, the Hanabusa IVF clinic has repeatedly passed the buck so far. Just due to your malicious delay in resolution, do not this medical incident and its serious consequences exist ?  After the incident, I tried my best to communicate with the clinic while suffering huge physical and mental damage, but I was deeply shocked by the clinics subsequent handling of it. The senior management of the clinic actually insulted and humiliated the victim, and the clinic doctor repeatedly shirked and only gave the reply, such as, reply after 20 days, and then there were no words. Without any supervision, the clinics evaded the follow-up processing of the incident and acted arbitrary. The clinic neither assumed responsibility for the victim, nor was responsible for the medical incident. It caused serious secondary injury to the victim, which caused me to be exhausted physically and mentally. Whenever I thought about the situation and injuries of the operation at that moment, I would be in deep fear. Due to the series of injuries, I cannot face this kind of medical treatment again. After this medical incident, I saw a dark side under the disguised appearance. With the real experience for reference.1. How horrible! I admiringly went to the Hanabusa IVF in San Diego, but I underwent a nightmare-like egg retrieval operation there. During this operation, the eggs couldn’t be retrieved from the follicles including the dominant follicles due to inappropriate operations. The egg retrieval needle was punctured everywhere in the abdominal cavity, and the follicular fluid could not be sucked out properly, which resulted in the operation not being completed. Despite under anesthesia, I almost fainted from the desperate pain. This was entirely a very serious medical incident. It caused me the loss of the eggs, severe abdominal infection and disordered period. So far, I have not taken any IVF treatment and might lose the opportunity to be a mother due to these injuries caused by the medical incident. It was an absolutely true personal experience for reference.

Dr. Chen, the incubator, and the staff were bilingual and research enthusiastic. I had a lot of discussions at the Integrated Medical Seminar, and I learned a lot.Thank you.

Love Dr. LeBlanc and all the staff! Nancy, Disha, Effie, Allyson, are awesome. Sorry if I forgot anyones name. They are very accommodating, great with communication, compassionate and understanding. They always answer my millions of questions. Even my blood draw experience was great! I hate needles and I barely felt the poke. The nurse was extremely nice. I havent started treatment yet but we are about to and I can honestly say I know we picked the best place to do this.

We did our due diligence and met with 3 doctors prior to starting and I immediately fell in love with Hanabusa and Dr. LeBlanc. I felt she took the time to connect with me and my partner and at each visit she genuinely was concerned about my journey. I felt like she crafted a specific customized plan for me and feel accompanied throughout this difficult process. The staff at Hanabusa are amazing, so kind and warm which is needed when we are calling so often about such a difficult experience! Dr. LeBlanc, the nurses and admin are so quick to respond to emails and phone calls! It truly felt like I could stop advocating for my needs because they will take care of me.

This place is really really the best. They really care about you I try so many places but non of them was like that, doctor talk to you care about you. If I can rate them more than 5 star I would do.

Finding this clinic is the best thing that ever happened to us. We went through multiple failed attempts at some of the most well known IVF clinics in San Diego. Same medications and same procedures for every cycle. We were finally told to try an egg donor which was not an option for us. We Thank our Almighty Allah bringing us to Hanabusa. We are now 22 weeks pregnant with a baby Girl. Dr.Chang is not only the most talented Doctor that we have ever met but he is also most humble. We love the nurses too. Thank You Hanabusa for being so kind to us.

We had a wonderful experience at Hanabusa. Staff was so caring and professional. From start to finish, it took us 12 months to have our baby girl! Born from our niece as our surrogate with a donor egg and my husbands sperm. Couldnt be more thrilled!

I went in for a consultation with Dr. Chang and everything about my visit was GREAT! His staff, especially Elizabeth, were wonderful and professional. Dr. Chang was also very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Hanabusa IVF uses a different technique than other IVF centers and I would highly recommend everyone who is going through IVF to visit Dr. Chang/Hanabusa to learn about their process/technique. Also, their office was very nice and clean and it is great that patients are able to have all the procedures done in the same place!

After a pretty negative experience at the big San Diego fertility clinic, I was referred to Dr. Chang by my acupucturist for his outlook, bedside manner, holistic approach, and personalized care. I wish I would have started this journey with him and saved myself the pain and mental health issues from the other place. He runs an amazing, empathetic, and thoughtful crew. Every interaction Ive had with him and any of the nurses has always been warm, detailed, and Ive always felt they have treated me as an individual person with specific needs and not just a number. Hanabusa really has been such a comforting place during the toughtes times. Cant recommend them enough.

I have had excellent care at Hanabusa IVF and with Dr. Chang. He is a very kind and patient doctor. He always takes the time to answer all my questions. This clinic returns emails and phone calls in a timely manner which I did not find at my previous clinic and makes such a huge difference. The staff at the clinic are also very kind and make me feel at ease. Dealing with infertility is so tough, but having an understanding doctor and a kind staff makes it a bit easier to handle. This is a great clinic!

Dr. Chang and the Hanabusa team were all amazing. This was the 5th fertility clinic weve worked with over the years and their kindness and professionalism was a breath of fresh air.Dr. Chang is kind, candid, and focused. He really focuses on your case individually and doesnt try to push a standardized protocol. We first had a consult with Dr. Chang about 3 years before we ended up working with him; he told us our case did not require his techniques for producing embryos but he would certainly work with us if we preferred his clinic. Well, he was correct. We went elsewhere and we were fortunate to create a half dozen healthy embryos from one round of traditional IVF. Unfortunately, we did not like the other doctors highly standardized FET process, so we relocated our embryos and came back to Dr. Chang to handle the rest of the process.We were very happy with our decision. Dr. Chang made the very delicate FET process much less stressful than our prior experiences. He prioritized my health (physical and mental) and comfort during the process. And we are excited to say that his process worked!All the nurses were very friendly and helpful. Theyve happily answered all my questions along the way.I would certainly recommend Hanabusa highly to anyone dealing with fertility challenges. This is an industry that often feels very cold and profit driven... Ive found Hanabusa to be a lovely detour from that. Kindness and sincere care make for a much better patient experience.

I have had the best experience at Hanabusa IVF. I’ve been to other IVF clinics and, in comparison, it feels like the staff at Hanabusa and Dr. Chang really have spent the time to get to know me and my needs.

I am currently doing IVF at Hanabusa IVF. From the first, I choose it is because I live in San Diego and the place is very close and also Ive heard about Doctor Changs name before. But after I am doing ivf there, I just feel I really love this place. Not only Doctor Chang is really good and always explains things to his patient clearly and put a lot of efforts to address patient real problem, but also the stuff there are so friendly and nice making you feel like a family. Before I went to Hanabusa, I did 6 times transfer (all blasts) in other places and all failed. Doctor Chang put a lot of efforts to help me to find possible reasons instead of simply repetition. Not only Doctor Chang and his stuff, the lab there is pretty amazing too, recently I just did an egg retrieval, and with only around 500 E2 and the biggest size of follicles is only 15mm, others are less than 12mm before the day of trigger (I really dont have many follicle in baseline, normally I have only 4 to 5 total and I have serious follicle leading issue), Doctor Chang retrieved 5 eggs and 4 of them are matured and the amazing part is that I got 4 blasts. So I really appreciate their efforts to make this happen. Although I still have not been successful yet, but I really feel this is a good place to recommend!

I had such a disappointing experience at Hanabusa that I would like share my personal experience here. The goal is to help women searching for mini IVF options to avoid the trap of this unethical and subpar quality clinic. Hanabusa self promotes itself with multinational presence and three experienced in-house medical doctors in San Diego headquarter, this is absolutely misleading. Its a one man show with Dr Chang being the only med doc seeing patients. No staff nor voice machines set up over the weekend so if you are ovulating and needs medication unexpectedly, you are out of luck. During my treatment I was prescribed birth controls while what I really needed was Clomid. If you are under financing constraints, this is definitely not the place for you. The aggressive pricing (compared to many other ones in the same area) is astonishing. Egg harvesting is priced by the numbers of eggs they take out, regardless whether they are mature or not. Doc therefore is incentivized to take as many eggs out as possible, knowing that some dont make sense for the patient at all. Hanabusa is also very questionable about PGS lab referral. In my case, the lab director insisted to send my one (and only one) 6-day blastocyst to Progenesis, a tiny unknown, privately owned lab in La Jolla for PSG for $1,000 (I suspect Hanabusa get a handsome kickback from the referral I suspect). I had a friend who is a geneticist and runs a highly reputable PGS lab but Hanabusa was unwilling to use his lab. The result came back from Progenesis as Non-Read. Hanabusa did not release my result for 4-days before the doc was informed the Non Read. Later the doc told me that he didnt know how to explain the result to me as Non Read isnt common. Now Hanabusa is holding my only embryo from the treatment as a hostage as I refused to pay for the 1,000 PSG bill (after having paid 10K in cash out of pocket at the clinic). Since neither Progenesis nor Hanabusa was able to perform the PSG, common sense tells me that incomplete services should not be paid for. As IVF demand grows in the US and worldwide, clinics mushroomed as IVF becomes the most lucrative business in healthcare. Some are highly competent and some are operational disaster. It is one thing to be green as a start-up with operational mishaps, but being as unethical as Hanabusa is a huge red flag that deserves attention within the industry as well as broad public.

The doctors and nurses here are all very good. Especially the doctors are very professional. The results of the operation are very unexpected.

The doctors here are very good at the technique. There are no sequelae in the eggs. The nurses are very caring. Even if they leave the hospital, the nurses are very responsible for asking about the postoperative condition.

This clinic has insufficient experience and staff, and it is very foolish that the nurse prescribes the wrong medicine. Fortunately, I found out that when I took the eggs early, I forced you to be anesthetized. No matter whether the eggs are in compliance with the standard, the charges are calculated based on the number of eggs. The laboratory quality is extremely poor. My good friend opened the PGS testing lab, so I wanted him to help me test the embryo. The director of the laboratory is a Hungarian immigrant. He did everything he could and insisted that we pay for the local small experiment (it is estimated that there will be economic transfer). The result was a 6-day Blastocyst non read. Results. After consulting experts and friends, they said that the experimental technology is really not enough, and DNA Amplification cannot be done. After spending ten thousand dollars, I didnt even give a diagnosis. Domestic compatriot Buyer Beware. Hanabusa is a deceptive organization. Dont be fooled.
