On a scale of 1-10, I would give Dr Kwok a 15! This is my first experience with oral surgery, in preparation for an implant. The extraction process, gum trim and stitches were a pain FREE experience. My follow up appointments have been quick and easy. I would highly recommend Dr Kwok!

I am physician who unfortunately has no too much to say good about place; please make sure that dental hygienist do a good job and is not a new one every time you go there .. - it seems that for the same price some do the job in 30 minutes , some in an hour...even your teeth and hygiene is the same...but if you have any doubt about the service and any questions to ask .. front office will ask you to pay 100 $ consultation/follow up fee to speak to the Dr Kwok otherwise you are on your own/Out of the door ...price for cleaning itself is 170 $ and above so add another 100$ just to ask the question... new start operation needs funds but it is not professional and it is not nice... to say the least...then you look around for old décor and equipment...and no spirit at all...make sure if you pay cash and sing up for the procedure it will include follows up including monitoring side effects so you do not have to pay 100 $ each time you go back... .. it is extremely unethical even to the dentist has overall good side matters.. I would never recommended this place as a physician and family of the dentist ...please check the place first, downtown and bankers hills have a lot of dentist a good one like I had before...I waited month to talk to Dr Kwok about these issues before I placed the on web today - he never called me back and his office simple cancelled my follow up appointment even I wanted to pay them whatever they wanted...to have continuity of care and follow up on complication of the laser procedure.. easy for them …they do not have to follow up on the complications they had -easy way out...

So, I wanted to wait until after my 6-month follow up to write the review, even though I was pretty sure right from the get-go how the review would go.This was the first time I’d needed to see a perdiodontist. I was beyond scared becauseHealthy teeth are the most important thing to me. My dentist recommended someone who wasn’t in my network and I had gone for a consultation but wasn’t too impressed. I decided to shop around and found Dr. Kwok. The reviews seemed too good to be true. But I showed up for the consultation with the details from my other consultation. And he performed his own exams and drew his own conclusions without consulting the information I had in-hand. I liked this. He was thorough, and I felt that I could trust him. He had a very gentle and calm bedside manner which I was so appreciative of. He explained everything in great detail and kept asking if I had any further questions, to make sure he could address every concern I had.The procedure went just as expected, and the results were great. The thing I was most impressed with, however, was the constant check-ins for the first few days up to a week afterward. The office would send me texts all throughout my recovery to check on me and it always seemed to be the during time period of most concern (I.e. later in the evening as I was getting ready for bed and actually had time to process how I was feeling).I am confidant in Dr. Kwok’s abilities, his bedside manner was beyond appreciated and his wonderful office staff was warm and cheerful, and explained everything for the billing thoroughly.Don’t take this the wrong way, Dr. Kwok, but I hope I never have to see you again!

Let me begin by saying I don’t write reviews, but Dr. Kwok and staff were fantastic and deserve some acknowledgement.I went there for a second opinion after mixed results on a gum procedure with another provider. I was extremely impressed with their attention to detail and safety.Dr. Kwok was very knowledgeable, patient, and able to explain clearly and concisely what had happened and what steps I should take moving forward (which is what was missing from my other provider). Recently, I just had a procedure done with Dr. Kwok and his team at San Diego Periodontics. I had nervousness going into the procedure, but Dr. Kwok and his team were able to help alleviate some of the nervousness. Immediately when you walk into the office, the receptionist conveys a very warm and sweet greeting. Dr. Kwok and his team go above and beyond when it comes to patient care. Compassion, genuineness and kindness were shown from the consult about the procedure, during the procedure itself and at all the check ins after. Before any steps were taken, Dr. Kwok was able to use laymen’s terms to convey what was happening. Constant check ins happened during the procedure to see how I was doing and he even started playing calming piano music to reduce my stress. Among these small actions, Dr. Kwok and his team were able to convey a nonjudgmental , nurturing and a safe environment. Alongside patient care, Dr. Kwok’s attention to detail in his work was impeccable. His work was precise, and intricate which allowed my smile to look natural. My experience at SD Periodontics was safe, positive and it has allowed me to be genuinely proud of my new smile. Thank you!

Dr. Kwok is very professional and took his time to explain the procedure. I was expecting a lot of pain after the removal of my tooth, but it turned my much better than I expected. The pain was very mild only for a couple of days. Id strongly recommend Dr. Kwok and all the staff.

Like lots of you, I was contemplating having some badly needed dental work done during this pandemic. The fact that Ill be wearing a mask for the foreseeable future made it that much easier. Id surfed around for at least a dozen dentists. Heck, there are 3 within 100 yards of my home. Once I decided to call Dr. Kwoks office, I felt lots more comfortable about just getting on with it.The first person I spoke with to schedule my initial appointment was pleasant, respectful and patient. She even went so far as to remind me of their parking behind the building. My temperature was checked upon arrival. They walked me to a sink so I could wash my hands as well as mouthwash. Top shelf service!Dr. Kwok was amazing from beginning to end. I was told previously by another dentist that I needed some major gum work via laser. Dr. Kwok offers the same service but I didnt need it. He said a deep cleaning would fix me right up. Although I did need to have 9, yes 9 teeth extracted. I waited waaayy too long and my teeth were being pushed out.Dr. Kwok also referred me to another dentist for my partial so I could plan the entire thing out. This is where Kathleen and Kelly really, REALLY impressed the heck out of me. They made and received numerous calls between my insurance and the dentist doing my partial.Once everything was set up, we pulled the trigger. I had all 9 teeth pulled on the same day without a hitch. Dr. Kwok and his assistant were so good that I didnt even realize hed pulled the first few!Im ecstatic with not only Dr. Kwok, but Kathleen and Kelly really made everything seamless and actually enjoyable!Stop surfing around and just call them already. You wont regret it!

Dr. Kwok came highly recommended to me by a general dentist that I visited and boy, am I ever grateful for his recommendation. Dr. Kwok is kind, gentle, highly-trained, takes time to explain everything, and uses the latest technology. He performed laser periodontal treatments to two different areas with great success. SO much better than the traditional periodontal treatments! We have since left Southern California to move back to Florida, and while periodontists probably arent high on the list of those that would be missed after a move, I can honestly say that I will definitely miss Dr. Kwok! I should also add that his office is very well run. I never had to wait to be seen. If you need a periodontist, Dr. Kwok is the one to see!

As a dentist in San Diego, I have to do my homework to find the right specialists to work with, and with Dr. Kwok its a no brainer! He is a very skilled periodontist and just an overall great person with a long history of community service. I have known Dr. Kwok for a long time and was so thrilled that he decided to move back to California to start his practice. He treats all of my patients so well and is so reasonable in his treatment planning. He understands the needs and wants of his patients and explains treatment thoroughly. He is also on the cutting edge of periodontal treatment and is skilled in Laser assisted periodontal treatment, pin hole treatment and other periodontal procedures that are on the forefront. I trust him to help my patients maintain their teeth in a comfortable and safe environment and make sure they are well taken care of.

I had never used DDS Richards before but had a slight emergency late Friday afternoon. I called his office, then his personal cell phone and explained my problem. He agreed to meet me at his office Saturday morning. He fixed the post in my dentures. I had no insurance, but his charges were more than reasonable. He is very nice and knowledgeable and I would recommend him to all.

When I first met Dr. Kwok I was immediately struck by his bedside manner. He made me feel completely relaxed. He was direct, thorough in his explanations and gentle with his examination. When I had my procedure done he took time to explain every detail and also options. I am so impressed with his skill and manner, Its very hard to find a good Dr. in any field in mediicine. He has prescribed a plant to help me save one tooth and possibly another one, plus will perform Lanap Protocol laser surgery, along with localized osseous surgery and bone grafting as well. Although the surgery is schedule for four hours, I have full faith in Dr. Kwok to do the very best he can to halt the advance of my periodontal disease. Pretty sure knowing this practice that they made most of these up themselves or had friend post them, so sad! This practice blows chunks, he bought it from Dr Richards whos wife worked there and she was a con artist! She would get your records from your dentist and run EOBs and authorizations for as much as she could then call you and ask you to come in to have work done, LOL I caught on fast.. I only go there for Chi one of the staff that has been there a long time doing teeth and gum cleaning. Never saw Dr. Richards, didnt need to really.Im pretty sure it was purchased for the same type of process that Christine did. Why you ask me? I went in there after the new folk took over and the new receptionist was trying to get older patients to pay co-pays that they didnt need to, i saw one man in particular get very irate over the face that he had paid his deductible and the receptionist was trying to get it again. Until he practically forced her to check and was so mad at her he was yelling at her, she then completely in a fake voice said you are right, you did pay, but no apology.. I have not seen her around, maybe they fired her, who knows... Kelly is there since day 1, feel kind of faked be her also.. Again I just go into get my teeth cleaned (Kelly told me they do a gum cleaning) which I had never been told before. She actually made Chi call me to get me to pay them more money for an appointment that I had in the past with Chi. I found this completely insulting to both me and Chi. Kelly didnt care and neither do I at this point, dentists a lot of them like divorce attorneys are just there to make money, thats all they think about. Id be concerned about wasting your time with Dr. Kwok or his office. Go find somebody good out there, you just have to look!!! :) :) :)
