If I could give them 10 stars I would. The whole staff is amazing and made my journey throughout the treatments extremely pleasant. It was a bittersweet moment during my last visit. I enjoyed and looked forward with each visit due to the staff and then it came to an end 😢. From the front door to all the way to the back where I got my daily zap of radiation was AWESOME! Took me by surprise when I received my graduation gifts on the last visit. This place and the staff will always be remembered as a great experience for me.

This is a potential Covid disaster health center. We visited this center in August. Most of the staff were not wearing a mask, especially the doctor who we met. They posted all kinds of signs to show that they follow the CDC protocol, but in reality they don’t follow the guidelines. I got sick 4 days later and tested Covid positive. My husband also tested positive as well. 6 days after our visit, we got a call from this proton center that their staff has covid. This is how I contracted Covid and ended up in the hospital for 5 days. I got the covid vaccine, so fortunately did not end up in the ICU. Since this is a cancer treatment center and all their patients are very vulnerable during treatment, how can the staff and doctors don’t wear mask and follow the CDC guidelines. This is totally irresponsible and they should not be allowed to attend to their patients.

I just completed my proton therapy treatment at California Protons for prostate cancer, and I could not be more impressed with this center. Dr. Carl Rossi and his entire team of professionals are outstanding in every respect. Dr. Rossi is very personable, and explained in detail, the entire procedure. I knew, without question that I not only chose the right kind of treatment, I chose the right facility. The entire staff made me feel very comfortable and confident throughout my 28 treatment sessions.I highly recommend California Protons for their cancer treatment programs, and will refer any relatives or friends that may require cancer treatment to this extraordinary center.

I was a patient at this center during 2017, when diagnosed with a rare bone cancer of the hip, and cannot possibly say enough good things about it. From the very beginning, my excellent doctor, Ryan Grover, gave me hope...correct as it turned out...that my decision to turn down a 15 hour surgery was a good one. A surgery which might have left me in a wheelchair, and certainly far less mobile, with many negative side effects. Instead, I am now able to lead a very physically active life. If your cancer is one of those treated here, this is the center to go to, with technology at the very peak of what is available worldwide (I checked)...and wonderful people at every level of the organization.David Bowles, Ph.D.

The staff in the front is great. The doctors and staff behind the doors are horrible. We had to wait an hour and 20 mins. Someone came out once and said they would be back in 5 minutes. I has to have someone call back there 20 minutes later. Schedule your appointments according... a patient should not have to wait that long. If you tell us to be there at 1115 see them at that time... it has been a consistent problem over 7 weeks of treatment.

Im considering Scripps vs another hospital but having read the above review about wait times re 1 1/2 hrs its very concerning. Has the issue been resolved? The woman ive been talking to there at Scripps about a consultation so far has been wonderful thats why im a bit taken back by the above review re wait times. Thank you.

My daughter and I drove ten hours and relocated for proton therapy for my four year old grandson. We were not told until we got there that occasionally their equipment fails, and that one family had to be flown to the east coast because they couldnt get it working again. This caused a lot of stress in an already stressful situation. We were told by the chief oncologist at Rady that my grandson would not survive three weeks of radiation fractions which were of higher intensity than six week fractions. They chose to go with the three week anyway, with no explanation other than they had already made the plan. We trusted them. My grandson was rushed to the ER with vomiting and lethargy 20 hours later, and died within the day. His tumor was large but he was fine the morning he went in for his radiation treatment. They did tell us that some patients can get edema that causes many problems from radiation (they did not mention death) but Dr. McEwan said it hardly ever happens. When I asked how often, he said Like 1 in a hundred -- if one in a hundred airplanes fell out of the sky, no one would fly...but we trusted them. After my grandson died, Rady gave us the transparent mitigation of potential damages song and dance along with the Godly cliches (Theres a special place in heaven for children and everything happens for a reason) - which added insult to injury. Seriously??? Dr. McEwan left my daughter a generic voice mail, said he would call again -- never did, and Dr. Elster, my grandsons oncologist was at the hospital the day he was admitted, didnt come to see us after she was paged twice, and never even bothered to call to offer condolences. The star is for the kindness of two of the nurses at the proton center and Angela the coordinator. Other than that, it was pure hell for us. A nightmare.
