I was visiting from NYC and needed a trim since it was my first haircut since the pandemic. Tanya trimmed my hair and styled it. She was such a pleasure and immediately made me feel comfortable.She did exactly how I wanted it. Also their prices are reasonable The receptionist was very welcoming and friendly. I would definitely recommend Paper Doll Hair Salon in San Diego.

I feel so thankful to have found Nikki and PaperDoll salon! Nikki is so skilled and talented, and I’m so glad to be on my hair journey with her.A few months ago, she gave me a full highlight, and the grow-out was the best I’d ever had. People were asking me if I had balayage just a few days before my appointment yesterday. I included a before and after from the grow-out to my full highlight - not because of anything negative - but so that everyone can see the vast skills that Nikki has. Nikki also has so many recommendations for affordable products that will transform your hair quickly.The atmosphere of the salon is also a big win. Everyone is so nice, and it feels like one big happy family. The beer and hard kombucha offered is a nice plus also. Seriously, who could ask for more?

Jessica was amazing!! I felt at ease during the trial run for my wedding and her team was very welcoming. She made sure I felt confident with my hair and makeup and was willing to try many different styles. She arrived at the venue early and put everyone in a great mood! My hair was awesome, my bridesmaids’ hair was awesome, everyone’s eyelashes were on point, and my makeup was stellar! Her demeanor (professional, fun, relaxing, flexible, warm, prepared) really made the day that much better! I will definitely use Paper Doll Salon in the future :)

I was referred to here by a friend and mentor as a great place, he is correct!The staff there is very nice and accommodating. They have a ton of great beers on tap and a friend of mine says she gets mimosas there too which is a great added perk!Cat cuts my hair there and always does a great job, shes very nice and I always leave there stoked on my cut. Last time she made a cool recommendation for a Salt Spray which I had never heard of but am stoked on now!Highly recommend this place even for mens haircuts.

Had a pleasant experience with Leah. She was super attentive and made me super comfortable. Always willing to offer me any services like deep conditioning with my bang trim. My hair was left feeling soft and shiny! Plus a complimentary drink while you get your service done is awesome. Also prices are affordable! Booking online was a breeze.

Ive always had a great experience here! A bit pricy in a student budget, but with graduation nearing I needed a good style. Chelsea helped me start growing my asymmetrical pixie into a work appropriate bob that looks AMAZING. I cant recommend her enough, so sweet! Also, I was able to enjoy a cup of tea while listening to John Denver and Billy Joel, so a lovely experience overall.

I am from Maryland and was looking for a place to get a good blow out done; decided on paper doll and went with Nikki as my stylist. She was absolutely phenomenal and made my hair look gorgeous after 14 hours of traveling! She was warm and kind, and I swear my hair has never looked better!!! Highly, highly recommend seeing Nikki if you are looking for blow out/styling. The best I’ve had thus far!!! And I’m super picky!!

Tried to overcharge me and hair was mediocre- and I can elaborate that I told the girl before she started I wanted a partial highlight and the showed her a picture which she said she could do. And then when she was done she charged me for a full highlight saying she needed to use more dye to achieve the look. Although we both specifically agreed to a partial.

Nikki is my angel! The whole staff rocks, and Ive been coming here since I moved to San Diego a year and a half ago!

My hair grows pretty quickly, and every two years I get an insane urge to chop it all off. Since 2008, Jessica has been the only one I trust to chop off my hair, although “chop” is way too crude a word for what she does… It’s more like “work-some-serious-magic” - she’s transformed my long hair into bobs, pixie cuts, and even a fauxhawk (the last one being my favorite so far). Jess is truly an artist!

Appointment time was on time. I felt pampered from the moment I walked in to the moment I left.

I dont typically do online reviews. However...my experience with Debra West, at Paper Dolls Salon, in Pacific Beach 92109 necessitates one. She ruined my hair! Ruined my hair! Its burnt, butchered, and crooked. And, all she does while she works on you is complain about her personal problems. I wont be going back to Paper Dolls because I cant believe theyd allow someone who cuts hair this horribly to be part of their salon. Horrible experience...horrible...save your money and your hair - go elsewhere.

I got my hair done at PaperDoll Salon for my Wedding. Ryan was my stylist and he is an EXPERT if you are looking for beachy waves that hold all night long. I have extremely long hair that is notorious for just being flat and never holding a curl, but Ryan has that magic touch. I got SO MANY compliments on my hair at my wedding, I literally felt like a super model. I will 100% continue to go back to PaperDoll at request Ryan for my next blow-out/occassion that I need my hair to look that amazing again. My bridesmaids and other guests saw Reagan and Cindy and everyones hair looked fab all night long. Definitely a great choice for your wedding day, special occasion, or just if you feel like getting your hair to look incredible.
