Don’t go here if you need contacts. Paid $200 for eyeglass & contacts exam. Now only to be told contacts are on “back order” After making our own calls/arrangements, (they said they forgot to call us) we still can’t get my sons contacts. Very frustrating & would not recommend.

Dr. Maldonado and the staff at Sitterle Vision are amazing! I really appreciate that the staff asks me a detailed medical history and takes my blood pressure as part of a routine visit. Dr. Maldonado thoroughly explains everything and takes her time during her examinations. They have wide range of glasses to choose from and the staff has always been very helpful when scheduling a appointments and coordinating the delivery of contacts. Highly recommend!

Do NOT Waste Your Money And Time Here.Dr. Sitterle is extremely rude and unprofessional.I had my exam done by Dr. Sitterle and any time I spoke up about my prescription not looking right, I was rudely hushed and told that he’s the doctor and he knows best. Sure enough when I sent my frames (I already owned) to be fitted for new lenses they came back 2 weeks later with the wrong prescription.I went back for a second exam so Dr. Sitterle could correct my prescription; during which I had an even worse experience... I was asked ‘1 or 2?’ and when I responded with ‘I’m not sure’ I was immediately snapped at and told, “That’s Not What I Asked You!“ I was absolutely shocked! I uncomfortably sat through the remainder of my appointment and, was assured this second time around my glasses would be fine. (He informed me he had upped my prescription last time from 1.75 to 2. to correct my astigmatism but, brought it back down to 1.75 so, that should solve the problem.)I was not confident that my glasses would come back correct but, I had already paid for the lenses so there wasn’t much I could do.I requested to see a different Dr. and the staff didn’t seem too surprised by my complaint at all about Dr. Sitterle and set me up with a different Dr. All of the other staff were very polite and accommodating but, didn’t seem to care about my dissatisfaction with the service I was provided thus far.I was advised I would be seeing Dr. Maldonado for my next appointment but to my surprise my experience was unpleasant with her as well! I was rushed through my exam and spoken to like a child. I again was back to square one feeling disappointed and regretful having picked this location for my eye care needs.When I told Dr. Maldonado the transition feature I paid for do not transition I was told “There’s nothing we can do“.. the prescription is still wrong and they will not fix them without me paying more out of pocket. Although I was offered my money back in exchange for the dysfunctional lenses, it doesn’t make up for the 2 months I spent without glasses and being unable to drive!I do not think these Dr.’s truly care about the needs of the patient. They’re very much a ‘get you in and out’ kind of place. I would go as far to say they simply don’t care at all.I wish I would have known how horrific this whole process would be before coming here. So save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else!*I have attached a picture of my glasses fully transitioned.. they’re supposed to be nearly black..*

Outstanding overall experience! Professional, polite, friendly, courteous, and convenient location. I was pregnant at the time of my exam and was given utmost attention to comfort and care during my visit. The doctor was very thorough and I finally got eyeglasses that were the exact prescription I needed. That was three years ago and I still wear the glasses every single day. The facility was very nice and accommodating for children and wheelchairs. Convenient location. Staff was extraordinarily courteous. I highly recommend!

Very much appreciated the care provided to my family and me by Drs. Sitterle, Maldonado, and the team at Sitterle Vision. Dr. Maldonado has been the doctor weve seen the past couple of years and was very helpful when my daughter had a sports incident that affected her eye. The office made sure we were able to see Dr. Maldonado the day of the incident and she provided us with everything we needed to make sure my daughter was well taken care of. Definitely recommend!

This was my first year having an annual check up here and I was so impressed and happy with my experience. All of the staff is great and very kind and they have really handled the current precautions from Covid-19 very well. The process was smooth, and all the equipment was noticeably higher quality than other places Ive had exams. This staff and business are very much above and beyond and I highly recommend them.

The team at Sitterle is absolutely amazing! Very professional and kind. During COVID times they are taking several precautions and they are constantly sanitising everything from the surfaces to the frames you try on. It definitely makes you feel safe. Honestly I had the best experience of any medical establishment I have ever been to. Even during COVID 19 the staff and Dr. Maldonado made this very easy, safe, quick and painless. Staff was polite, helpful, and weirdly seemed like they enjoy their jobs. Dr. Maldonado answered all of my dumb questions and actually cared about my eye health.But you guys.. they also have a machine that takes pictures of the back of your eyes without the need for dilation. I dont know how long this technology has been out but it is so much better than the eye drops and glaring sunlight for hours.☆☆☆☆☆!!!

I can not explain my disappointment with this establishment. The customer service I experienced was terrible. After having a pleasant eye exam with Dr. Maldonado I was handed off to the rudest and most incompetent staff I have come across. All I needed was to get new lenses as my prescription had changed. No new frames, just a new prescription lens. I was told it would take 7-10 business days. Fine. Ive gotten glasses here before, I know the drill. The next day was a Holiday, and the store would be closed, so I took that into account and counted the days around the Holiday. After 11 business days, not including that holiday ( so essentially 12) I had still not heard anything. When I called to find out where my lenses were NONE of the staff knew. I was told I would get a call back after someone called the lab to try and find them. I did not receive a call, I got a text to tell me that my lenses could not be cut and were just on hold at the lab. I called back and got the manager, who (surprise, surprise) didnt know anything about it. She told me she would have to find out what happened and call me back. When I finally got an answer I was told someone dropped the ball, but i dont know who. I asked her how long I would have waited if I hadnt called to find out where my lenses were, since obviously no one on staff had any idea, and was told eventually the lab would have called back. She continued to say she just didnt know who was at fault. I really dont care who dropped the ball, I care about the manager taking responsibility for what was clearly their fault and doing something to rectify the situation. She did not. When I am paying $150 for lenses alone I expect to have them in a timely manner, and to not be forgotten about. I also had to request my prescription ( as I will obviously never be getting glasses here again) twice before I finally got it. It is a requirement, by law, that an optician give the patient their prescription, whether it is requested or not. This office has no regard for the patient, or the law apparently. Stay FAR away.

Worst optimal experience in my LIFE! The Dr. was so rude. He is condescending, zero bedside/customer service and had the nerve to scold me after HIS mistake. I left in tears but before I left, he asked for me to give him a good rating on yelp and google. Said his ratings are low🤨🤯 ummmm?!? So bizarre!

Everyone in this office is super nice. Ive been coming here for 20 years. I used to live down the street but now I drive 20 miles, past how many other vision centers, just for their great service.And when it comes to purchasing lenses and frames...Nicole is incredible. She knows all the details of all the variations. She listens to your preferences and knows just the frame and where its at in the large inventory. Shes patient and explains details and options as many times as you need to hear them.I shopped big chains for prices. The others sound cheap at first but then you find out the material or the color lens you want costs WAY more than the advertised price. So save yourself the trouble and just get your exam and lenses all at Sitterle Vision Source where they care about you and customer service.

I was looking for a new place to have my eyes checked and find some new frames. I picked Sitterle Vision Source because I was familiar with the area. From the moment I walked in up to the moment I left, everyone was cheerful and helpful. The time spent in the waiting area was minimal, the vision tests were comprehensive, and Dr. Maldonado was knowledgeable, personable and thorough. The staff even helped me pick out a set of frames that would look good on me. This was the BEST experience I have had getting my eyes checked!

This was my first time here ever after a family recommendation. Well my family member was absolutely right because I had quite the pleasant experience here. I was seen promptly by their very kind and helpful staff. The office is beautiful and relaxing, which was a great touch on top of the great service. I felt like I had been there dozens of times by how friendly the staff was. The exam was thorough and comprehensive and they even had my 30 day night and day contacts I like in my exact prescription in stock which was a super plus. I cant thank them enough for making this transition to a (relatively)new city this much easier. Dr. Sitterle was also super kind and extremely professional. Overall a fantastic experience and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a fantastic optometrist here in the Northeast San Antonio area. Thanks again everybody!!👍👍👍👍👍

Well so far not that great, was in there o 8/3/2020, for an eye exam and new glasses, now its a month later still nothing, im having to call to see what the status is and everything is on back order. Im very disappointed in this. once I get my glasses i will not be going back, and ill let my ins co know about this. Finally picked up my glasses on T I will not be going back there for anything at all. I will be calling my INs Co. about this.hursday, not really happy with everything, had to wait outside for 20 min, she came out asked for more info, came back out paid she handed me my glasses. Asked her dont they have to make sure they fit right, she said you have to make an appointment for that, nobody said ANYTHING OF SORTS. when i WAS TRYING TO FIND OUT IF MY GLASSED tried calling was on hold for over 10 mins then they hung up on me had to call back.

I got a call from Christy asking me who my vision coverage is under, I told her blue cross blue shield. She explained it doesnt show any coverage under blue cross blue sheild and I have to call my HR dept and find out who my vision coverage is under. I never had to do this before. I didnt understand why she couldnt find it herself. I have vision coverage. She just kept on repeating herself (like a robot) IF YOU KNOW THE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE TYPE So I told her to just cancel my appt. She actually sounded happy about that. So I call vision care center to make a appt . It took her 2 minutes to come on the phone and tell me Blue cross blue sheild goes through a 3rd party called VSP . It took her 2 minutes. I call back Christy to get Evon she tells me Christy is helping a customer . I ask her if shes a receptionist she says no, I ask if shes a Dr , she says no. So I ask well who are you and why are you answering the phone. She says everyone there answers the phone . lol too funny. I just had to vent so I told her what happened and just wanted to know if its their job to find out our coverage or is it not. If the Dr is fine with everyone that has blue cross blue sheild not going their because they cant take 2 minutes to look it up. Well, good luck to you, word travels fast. By the way they kicked out a customer because he couldnt get information on the phone about his coverage in another post ? Poor guy. They must have gotten a thrill getting him so upset. one less customer to help

Every time I come to Dr. Sitterle office there is always a problem with the bill statement.I have been a patient here for more than 10 years, as well as my whole family (we all were hard contact lenses) so I know very well what I have being paid for me in the past and for my family as well.Anyway, during this visit and without ordering any new contact, I think this is the first time I come here and I dont order a new contacts, my bill was $170 dollars and I usually pay around $120-140 ordering with new contacts, when I inquired Chad about my concern, he said that my vision insurance had changes the cover for the contact lenses exam and now I needed to pay more deductible so after a 10 minutes talking I paid him and I left the office.About an hour later I called my vision insurance to ask what were the new changes in the cover and the customer representative, doing an excellent work, called Dr. Sitterle office to know about the discrepancies between this present charge compared with previous visits to the office, and she was told the problem was they had given me a specialized contact lenses exam and not the standard contact lenses exam which is the one full covered by the insurance, and also that they had made a mistake on my previous visit (2 years ago) and they didnt charge me for the special one on that occasion. The representative from the insurance also let me know they didnt have made any new changes in the cover or in the deductible.In all the years I have been coming to this place, or any eye doctor place, I have never heard of any standard or specialized eye contact lenses exam, but in case they have two different type of exams, one full covered by the insurance and one partially covered, they have to explain the patients about this difference and which do you prefer to follow. The problem with Dr. Sitterle office is they have very low ethical procedures and they have used in many opportunities shady lies in order to make more money.The perfect evidence of their poor professional behavior is when I asked Chad why the price increase in the bill statement compared with prior visits, and if they had increased their consultation charges for any reason, and he did not mention anything about the two types of contact lenses exams, blaming the insurance company instead and inventing this lie about the increase of the deductible; people only hide the true and are unclear this way when they are sure they are ripping off someone else.Unfortunately as many other professionals in the health field, Dr. Sitterle seems to be desperate for the money, and the money is always a priority before the patients even if they have to lie and use tricky practices in order to satisfy their financial necessities. Very disappointed._Respond to Dr. Sitterle_Dr. Sitterle if that was the cause of the price increase in my statement, why I did not receive that explanation when I inquired about the price, and instead Chad just blamed to a change of cover in my vision insurance.Besides that, if you looked into my statements since I have been going to your office, you will see I have never paid this amount even when I ordered new contact lenses, dont say this was a previous visit charge mistake, so it looks you have been doing the same mistake for 10 years so far.

Dr. Sitterle is a Awesome Doctor with a beautiful sense of humor. Ne patient here! Called and scheduled a same day appointment, the wait time was virtually nonexistent, every staff member I interacted with was professional but extremely friendly. Dr.sitterle was great and answered all my questions and concerns, really cared about my needs and which contact lenses would work for me . Went in for an 11am eye exam...Rude service from the second I walked in. First told I have a copay but know that’s not correct, so I call my insurance company. I’m standing off to the side against the wall away from everyone on my phone, this lady that I find out is the manager (Kristi) is screaming at someone on the phone Literally yelling. She’s cut off and slams the phone down. Then she stands and reaches across Picks up my card without my permission speaking to me while I’m trying to talk to my insurance company and I tell her Shhh.... her face is red and she says, “Don’t tell me to Shh!!!! Get out!” Explain I’m on the phone with my insurance company and I have an appointment at 11 AM. She gets this big guy that works there to come out to tell me to get out of the store his name is Chad. I’m in complete shock I stepped outside and he holds the front door closed. Avoid this place!!! Rude, unprofessional, overpriced sums it all up. There are a lot of 1 star reviews and I know why now. Read them.They also lost my friends and families business.Went to LensCrafters total respect and no copay.

After using the same brand of contacts for over 10 years I was looking to try something new. Dr Sitterle explained all my options that were similar to my previous brands and helped me weigh the differences. Once I made my choice and was ready to order my contacts the optometrist was happy to price match Costco so I did not have to make another trip. I will be back again next year and will recommend him to friends and family.

I bought a moderately expensive pair of glasses along with some RX Oakley sunglasses in June...I think the total was approx $800. Yesterday, a nose pad came off. I took the glasses into Sitterle after work today, and they charged me $6. I was like seriously, after just two months, you want to charge me for that simple repair. It wasnt such a matter of the $6 charge, but the principle behind it. Needless to say, I wont be going back.

New to Texas, new patient. I hadnt had an exam in a while but knew my vision had changed over the last few years. Very nice, thorough staff. Doctor Sitterle is great, takes his time with you, explains everything. I really appreciated how insurance coverage was explained to me, if I chose new glasses vs. contact lenses. Picking out new glasses was fun. I was there 2 1/2 hours but completely worth the experience. I will be returning for sure!

Im not always particular or demanding when it comes to my eye care. After visiting my Doctor for my current prescription I got with David on choosing which glasses. He suggested some great alternatives and made me feel comfortable while choosing the right ones. Its a little bit of a drive from where I live but definitely worth it!

My recent (or maybe not so recent) experience has been extremely disappointing. I went in November (4 months ago) to get my lenses and my frames replaced. I have called numerous times always with promises of return phone calls of which I never receive. The last interaction I was finally told that the issue was with the frames manufacturer that would not accept their payment. They were supposedly working on it and I absolutely promised that I would be updated with status and not forgotten....three weeks later Im sitting here writing this with no update. Previously my experiences were pleasant, but I didnt need any glasses. Now that I do, I wonder if this is the way that everyone who needs something gets treated.

DO NOT bring your own frames to this optometrist. I brought my ic! Berlin serge k frames to get new lenses put in and they came back bent. These frames are made out of a spring steel that can be bent over and over without losing its shape. These so called experts have figured out how to bend my frames so badly that they sit very crooked. These frames cost around $500 and they just said that since they were pre-owned frames, the couldnt be responsible for them. There wasnt any apology about damaging them. I had to demand to get a refund for the lenses just to try to get some money back. The staff just dont seem to care.

For the last year, Dr. Sitterle noticed that my eyes needed correction. I went a whole year with struggling with my vision and it was depressing. A lot of things that I enjoy doing require decent eyesight and I was starting to struggle with not being able to see. It was really bothering me. As soon as I was able to get the patch off from my eye after my vision correction, it was awesome. It helped out with my chronic irritation that I was getting, I also had a lot of distortion. It wasn’t even correctable with glasses. I had so much astigmatism, now I can see 20/20. Thank you Dr. Sitterle for referring me to Parkhurst NuVision for helping me get my vision correction!

From the moment I walked I felt like I was in good hands by the entire staff, Dr. Sitterle and Michelle especially. I have been wearing glasses/contacts for the majority of my life and I have never felt as comfortable as I did when I came here. They actually listened when I voiced my concerns and worked with me to find a solution. I will be going back and recommend you do too!

I was debating wether to write this review or not, but I am just very disappointed. I brought my mother in for an exam last year and was very impressed by the knowledge and courtesy of staff and dr. Maldonado. I recently brought my daughter in for an exam and looks like theres a whole new staff ! ! The lady who tested my daughter was bland and seemed uninterested, Very opposite from the young pregnant lady that tested my mother last year. The expirience we had was completely different and un welcoming !

Love this one stop shop for eye wear & care! The Drs are awesome & in most cases glasses can be had the same day or next day Service! My granddaughter ‘s were ready the next day & my grandson had to wait a bit cause his were special order transitional lenses!And the Drs also give back to the community by volunteering their services!KUDOS to the DRS & their staff!

After billing me $207 (I have insurance mind you), I still do not have a pair of glasses that fits my needs. When I asked them to reevaluate, they offered to charge me a starting price of $21 dollars (with the disclaimer that they might have to charge me more) to fix their work. They did not properly bill my insurance and flatly refused to bill through my eye insurance even though I called my eye insurance to see if I was covered. Most of the staff was courteous, but the insurance lady was exceptionally rude claiming that the insurance company couldnt even tell her what code to use for billing. How on earth does she bill through insurance might I ask? My prescription is unsatisfactory. I cant read street signs properly through the prescription I was given. I am going for a second opinion which I will pay for out of pocket. Im very dissatisfied.

I have been a patient of Dr Sitterle for over 6 years and I must say that he is an excellent optometrist who really cares about his patients. His office is well managed and has a vast collection of eyeglass frames. The only wish I have would be if the turn around on new prescription lenses was a bit faster instead of the 8-10 days it now takes to get them. Other than that, I would recommend him to anyone who needs a vision specialist. I am a diabetic and he really helps me maintain my vision and prescribes the best preventive care that I can think of to ensure that my vision is A-ok for the long term.

Ive used Dr. Sitterle for the past three years and really have been pleased with the service from his staff. He is a very good doctor who works with you to find a solution to any vision problems you might have and his staff is very responsive to any requests Ive made in the past. They are also good in reminding of appts. and take the time to get answers to questions when they arise. Ive been very pleased with the service and the results of that service.

I have been Dr. Sitterles patient for well over a decade and have relied upon his expertise and advice for my changing vision needs for all that time, especially since entering my senior years. He is very much a trusted friend but in case this sounds very serious, he also has a great sense of humor and always lightens up our visit while remaining professional. He keeps up with all the latest and greatest equipment that is available for vision evaluation, and his staff is attentive and caring. I would recommend Dr. Sitterle to anyone who asked me for a referral regarding vision care.

Rude receptionist she hung up in my face after asking do they accept Tricare.Its us military that are keeping this country safe and putting our lives on the line. That was so uncalled for rude and disrespectful if I could rate this business a zero I would. Thanks for hanging up in my face I found a respectable business to take my son and accept my insurance for his needs. That actually respect veterans.

I had a very unpleasant experience. I bought a pair of graduation glasses. The doctor recommended them. My glasses were broken more than three or four times they never offered to replace them. I wont come back to this place again.
