IT CLOSE ON SAT WHEN IN BREAKS The lady Jane at the front desk during fall and spring semester is so warm and friendly. Others are soso 😐When I ask for mental counseling and tooth cleaning, she always has some useful suggestions. I would thankful for her saving my life🀀Also thanking for the young male nurse! Due to the nature of the student health insurance plan (absolutely terrible coverage), the Student Health Center needs to be open on weekends.Otherwise, the staff and providers here are excellent! My husband and I have two small children and come in frequently for checkups and illnesses/injuries. Appointments are easy to make and visits are quick and efficient. Katherine Heller is our family provider and she is excellent!

The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful! However, I was 4 minutes late and called to ask if that would be okay (construction on the roads) and was told that was perfectly fine. When I arrived I waited 5 minutes and was taken back by a medical assistant that shamed me by saying β€œeveryone has been late. That’s why we have appointments and everyone needs to be on time so we don’t have too many people in the waiting room.” When I arrived, I was the ONLY person in the whole clinic! She was really rude and very rushed.

Very unprofessional staff and med students. I have been taking my daughter here while my husband was in school. They ask the same 20 questions from three different nurses before seeing the doctor. It honestly feels harassing. Trying to communicate with anyone, they always refer to β€œthe student health portal” instead of actually helping you out. Glad to have better insurance so we can actually go to a pediatrician who cares.

While Ive been in grad school at the U, my family and I have been seen here for years. We have received great care! The providers and other staff are friendly and helpful. Weve received referrals to specialists as needed. Thank you!

This place has been a godsend for me. Not only have they provided me with excellent care for acute illnesses, but the nurses and staff have taken time to help me navigate the student healthcare plan and inform me of resources to make sure I can afford my medications and tests for my chronic illnesses. I have nothing but good things to say about them and I appreciate all they’ve done to keep me healthy.

Disappointing. I have received very little help from this place. Unfortunately, I havent had other options... Very rude and impolite in every kind of communication: phone, email, etc. I always strive to be very proper and professional in every kind of communication and I have got very unhelpful responses, especially via email. On one occasion, they havent notified me that I had a pending payment (not a big amount) but only contacted me when they were about to place a hold on my U accounts, services, etc. Thats the last thing I want to hear since Im meticulous with what I need to comply with. I appreciate very few occasions of assistance, fortunately not many, but overall, Im really disappointed.

No walk-in services at a school with a student population of 32,000 is a joke. Being told I need to wait over 2 days for an appointment when I have exams this week is ridiculous. The whole point of going to the doctor is to get treatment when you need it, not days after the fact. Appointments are fine for things like preventative care and annual check ups, but if you cant service people who get sick unexpectedly, then you need to expand your staff. Lord knows the school gets enough money from student tuition to fund a few more doctors.

The older ladies who work here are grumpy. Service is adequate but they dont take any insurance except the universitys. Not great, if you can go somewhere else I highly recommend doing so.

Called me 3 months after my 5th visit to tell me they lost my insurance information and since they waited so long they can’t bill my insurance anymore and I have to pay out of pocket for my last 2 visits. Unacceptable incompetence.

I would not recommend anyone go to the student health center. If I could give them 0 stars I would. I went there with concerns about my heart. They ran a bunch of expensive tests and came back to tell me they had no idea what was wrong and that I should spend more. Then they lost my insurance information multiple times. I received no contact about this until my credit score took a major hit because they sent my bill into collections. Now they are refusing to give me information on the bills until I pay the collections agency.

Absolutely dreadful experience. Other than the reception staff, employees seemed uninspired, incompetent, and downright uninterested in helping patients. I would rather go to a free clinic in North Korea than ever have to deal with these people again.Literally go anywhere else.

I would not recommend anyone go to the student health center. If I could give them 0 stars I would. And the treatment there are terrible, and the nurse for the travel immunization were terrible. And they would not care about the students well-being, the only things that they care about this how and how much they can get out of the student money.

They are terrible. As a student, if you let them know you cannot afford the $65+ just to SEE a doctor, they say sorry to heat that, and hang up. I wish I had never transferred to this mega-school that could not care less about its own students well-being.

Very bad service. Im not satisfied. I stopped by for a suture removal. It was informed normal schedule. Before I was asked to just walk in without making appointment. Today I was rejected cause of a staff meeting for 1.5hours. I was rejected to sit in and wait (i spent 30mins to get there. Should I spend too much time on the bus travelling back and forth????), cause she said they were gonna have a meeting right there. So interesting!!!! I really dont know how they do a health service. Come on the U, you should make the reputation back. I was finding the place to write a review. And yeah, not only me put 1 star.

This place isnt terrible but definitely not great quality. The providers are good but a lot of the staff are unhelpful. Ive tried many times this semester to get in touch with the insurance office and out of maybe 5 or 6 times calling at different days and times Ive never been able to speak to a real person so Im forced to email which is a very inefficient way of communicating especially when you have a lot of questions. Also, I just found out that Im loosing about 1,000 bucks because I paid for the Spring/Winnter and Summer semesters on the Student Health Plan since my husband wasnt working for a company that provided health benefits. Well he got a new job that offers insurance, and now we dont need the student plan in the summer semester. Unfortunately they dont refund your money even if that semester hasnt begun. I feel like that is really crappy to do to students and had I been able to speak to a live person about the student health plan from the beginning, instead of trying to read about it online, then I might not have signed up for two semesters and just done one at a time. The Student Health Plan is nice because its very cheap to be seen at the Student Health Center, but very frustrating when you run into problems like this and cant speak with a human being.

Tek Kilgore, DNP, APRN is the best healthcare provider I have ever had in my life. In each appointment I have had with him, he has gone above and beyond in giving me the best service. One time I needed to see a specialist; he not only gave me a referral to see the specialist, but explained the referral process and how my insurance would take care of the cost and that I shouldnt worry at all. And whats more, he even tried to call the specialists office that night to schedule me an appointment. He wasnt able to reach them then, because it was after hours, so he promised to call them again first thing in the morning. The amazing thing is, I didnt even ask him to do any of these extra services--he just did them on his own! Thanks Tek!
