This place is a joke. Still acting like they are the premier club they were in the 90’s. We paused our account during covid, or so we were told, but egotistical Bryson decided he was more concerned with trying to “recover” missed payments that were sent to a 12 year old address than trying to actual resolve an issue and collect a lifetime of membership dues from our family going forward. After coming here for decades I can safely say this place isn’t going to last long with the way they treat customers.Fire him, hire someone who actually cares or you won’t be around long.

Read all of the club managers responses for the reviews provided. First off, he should not publicly call out a former employee and indicate why he separated said employee regardless of being at will. Publically stating the employee was disgruntled is inappropriate and should be kept private regardless of what occurred. He is certainly snarky, entitled, has total disregard and completely unprofessional. Rather than hear out a patrons concerns and consider safety improvements, he outright laughed and said You are welcome to pull your child from the program. His overall tone is derisive and disrespectful. Work to make your club better so that it lives on the legacy it began with. Try doing something out of the ordinary, try doing more than the minimum standard.

Great staff and great crowd

I love this place! Most remarkable staff and great environment. I would highly recommend this place to everyone. There also isn’t a better place to play tennis indoors. I’ve never been disappointed. A truly phenomenal place!

My favorite gym! I’ve been a member for about 7 years now and love being here. The group fitness classes are great for all fitness levels and I love that I don’t ever feel uncomfortable or self-conscious working out. Equipment is well spaced as well, so you’re never too close to someone else. Clean facility and friendly, competent staff.

Only was there to get a mobile physical given by my insurance company. Did not go into any of the stores.

Kicked paying customers out of lap pools to rent out to the highest bid without compensating those affected.Precharge your account by 100$ for guest passes and REFUSE to REFUND unused money upon cancellation.Response to the owner.A policy that forced your paying customers to pre purchase 10 to let even one guest in is specifically a money grab. A greedy policy that no longer is in effect. (I wonder why)Keep the $90 or whatever. But this review stands because you are a greedy owner and you really earned this 1 star review.As for the pool sellout you didnt respond to. It is just another example of how you as an owner will do anything for money. Bye now.

Great Club. Club does a good job promoting tennis leagues. Its great to be able to meet your friends and get good competitive play.

Great place for recreational tennis, work out, and all areas are well maintained in a way that its nice to be around.

We love the Sports Mall! The staff here is so friendly and helpful. Although it is an old athletic facility it is actually quite posh. There are a few health and wellness shops as you enter. An eatery/bar & soother shops on the left & a health supplement & salon on the right. They have everything you could want as far as health is needed. Various classes & top of line instructors. Locker rooms are spacious and they even have a hot tub inside for relaxing! There are 6 volleyball courts and many indoor and outdoor tennis courts. It’s a great tacitly to enjoy. Membership is a little pricey in comparison, but you definitely see the rerun in the amenities you are able to enjoy.

Last year was my first time playing at the Wasatch beach venue and I Loved it!!! And now that Wasatch beach is no longer and there’s no coed doubles I will probably take my time and money elsewhere. Kinda sucks that such a good thing is gone. Best of luck to Salt lake sand though, probably won’t consider playing unless they offer more coed options.

Good place but the reps at the front desk seem awkward with greeting or talking with tenants. A lot of variety of rooms but machine selection seems to be missing some balance or an obvious pattern to follow. Everything sucks in the pandemic now. Decent gym for people not looking to show off and scream in an arena like a lunkhead.

Ive been going to the Sports Mall for some time. Its by far the best value for all the amenities they have. I love the multiple weight rooms, the pool, the hot tub, steam room, sauna etc. They also have the best tennis, racquetball, and basketball courts. They also have classes for just about anything. The facilities are always clean and maintained, and the staff is always very friendly to me. I really cant say anything bad about the Sports Mall, but some of us wish they would get the punching bag set up again. All in all, the Sports Mall is awesome and definitely a good value.

My experience with the sports mall was exceptional. It met and exceeded all my expectations for a gym. It has all the necessary equipment for all types of training. We also used the pool for fun. It has a sauna and steam room that were always great after my workouts. The staff was always super friendly and helpful. I would have certainly continued my membership had I not moved. Two thumbs up. Highly recommended.

I doubt the credibility of some of these earlier reviews. Ive found the Sports Mall affordable, clean, well managed, and the the gym vibe is a lot more friendly than a major franchise like Golds Gym. Ive had no problem finding weights or machines to do my workouts. My kids have a great time in the pool during summer.

This is a great gym, many options for working out. I do have one complaint. In the locker room there is little to no discretion. Men walking around totally naked, there was one man at the sink shaving with nothing on and no towel present. My son and I were in the sauna with swim trunks on and a man walks in totally naked and sits down with no towel or anything, bare butt on wood, GROSSSSSS!!!! There was a group of men in the hot tub naked and men walking into the steam room totally naked.HOW IS THIS ACCEPTABLE? There has to be a way to reel this in, maybe put up signs encouraging some discretion or not allowing nudity in the Sauna, Steam Room or Hot Tub. There were also some young kids (boys) in the locker room as the naked men were walking around. I get that there will be some nudity in the locker room as people are changing cloths, showering, etc, but it seem as if some are taking this to far. Maybe nudity could only be allowed in the shower area and around the lockers only? I feel compelled to speak out when this happened but as a new member to the gym I do not know what is acceptable practice. I spoke with my wife and this does not happen in the womens locker room.

Our family has enjoyed a membership at the Sports Mall for over 30 years. From the first days when we spent every Saturday at the Sports Mall pool when the kids were young, through the years until now when we enjoy it every morning for exercise. Weve enjoyed a lot of the same faces over the years. Congratulations to Brent Cook and his marvelous team for running a five star facility

Very clean and well maintained. It is obvious that the owners and employees take pride in this establishment. They are known for their tennis courts, but everything else is maintained just as well as the courts. They have all sorts of exercise machines, 2 weight rooms, racquetball courts, handball courts a pool that is open year round and much much more.

The sports mall is the place to be if you want to be healthy and in a fun club with other people that are like-minded! A clean environment where you can work out without the feeling of being judged like golds gym… I love the sauna and all of the workout rooms in the pool in the summer is a blast but if you want to swim laps in the winter you can do that too! The memberships are so cheap that it’s a no brainer

Its basically the only indoor tennis courts around Sandy (as far as I know). Fortunately, theyre quite nice. By my count, there are 12 indoor courts. 8 in the main building and 4 out back in a bubble. It also has a gym and a swimming pool and various other faculties, but tennis seems to be the focus. As a side note, the bathrooms have couches in them. Need I say more?

Love the Sports Mall! Everyone is so friendly and it’s a really clean facility. It isn’t always super busy so it’s easy to do what you want here!

I drive by 2 other sports gyms to get here. Enjoy the steam room emensly. People are very polite. Been going there 4 years, pool open year as round. I like it 3 times a week. If youre interested, they let you in to use the facilities at no charge to try it out.

Awesome people and Awesome Facility

I was a lifeguard here as a teenager. It was a blast working here. I recently joined as a patron and the experience is great! The Tot Spot takes great care of my little one. I love the atmosphere. But I have to say my favorite part is Kennys smiling face at the front desk. He is always happy, even when there is a mixup, and he makes sure I always get what I need. 5 stars all the way!!

The sports mall is only the Best place on Earth to workout and do so many awesome sports. Well worth it to check it out. Ive been going here for years and am so happy to be back in Utah to keep going here. :)

Its your friendly neighborhood, dirty, run-down place. The people are nice, and its very family friendly, but theres no serious effort to keep things clean or maintained. Ive seen the same few growing mold stalactites for years, but they only get cleaned when I ask specifically.

I loved our experience at the sports mall including the staff that has been so friendly and helpful. Tennis has been our main focus for our membership but we did love working out on occasion. Its just the the tennis section would lure me in and take up all of my time. We definitely will be back!

Switched from another gym and couldn’t be happier. I just love the atmosphere here. The staff are all very nice and helpful. The gym itself is always clean and I haven’t noticed any issues with the equipment. I really love this place and wish I had made the switch sooner!

I go for chiropractic care, and have not utilized any other facilities. It seems quite a comprehensive place, with some form of exercise for every body. There is ample parking, although disabled slots are not readily in evidence. There must be a pool as there are signs for swim team practise.

The gym itself is great equipment not long wait lines like other gyms in the valley however their customer service is the WORST around. To add a third person on the account they dropped the second without telling me and then raised the price of coming into the gym to play basketball without a membership. Ive emailed the manager about getting memberships multiple times and never got responses.

The Sports Mall is an amazing family club with everything you’d ever want. In the summer there’s outdoor beach volleyball and the pool has a magical view of the tennis courts. 12 indoor tennis courts, for those long winter months...And after all of those activities, come take care of your body in the pilates studio!

Wonderful facilities, very clean and well kept despite looking like theyre from the early 2000s. Theres always a machine available in the cardio area for you to hop on. The staff goes through regularly wiping things down and keeping the place up but I do wish theyd leave out sanitizing wipes for the patrons to use. Love that the steam room is controlled by the guests so they can make it as steamy as they like it. Sauna is also well maintained and they leave newspapers for patrons to read while they sweat it out. Weights are well stocked and machines are well maintained, showing little to no signs of wear. Staff is friendly and welcoming, always ready to answer questions or help if necessary. I love that you can rent a towel for a dollar if you forget yours at home as well!

I have my membership mainly for cross training purposes . I love that they have a variety of equipment and the fact that each locker room has a private hot tub , steam room and sauna , this makes a woman who frequents the gym by herself more comfortable . The only thing I would like to suggest and Im sure they have their reasonings , but it would be nice to have a couple big rugs down the bathroom area so there isnt as much watery footprints to slip on . I understand that it is the individuals job to wipe their body off but not everyone does that and then it makes it hard for others to walk around the bathroom without having to play hopscotch . The employees are also very nice and helpful ! I definitely recommend the sports mall.

I have been a member of the Sports Mall for years and years and I have to say that as much as I love the club, which I do, the manager makes it a great experience for me EVERYTIME! Kenny is the face of the Sports Mall for me and many of its members. I recently had a conflict with my little girl and Kenny saved the day!!! He bought her treats, with his own money, entertained her, and made her happy so that I could attend my lesson! He just reaffirmed why I keep going to the Sports Mall!!!

Love the sports mall. Has lots of weight areas including machines in addition to pool, tennis, basketball, spinning, racquetball, beach volleyball, and other various group fitness classes. It was never very busy, so finding workout space was always easy. Pretty affordable if you get a family account. Facilities were always clean. Electronic locks on lockers so you dont have to provide your own lock.

I had a tennis membership for about 3 years, so my use of the facilities was limited to tennis. That being said, the courts are excellent and well maintained. Lessons and workouts are available at a variety of times. However, I joined with the expectation that there would be organized leagues internal to the Sportsmall so one could actually play, as opposed to just taking lessons or doing workouts. There needs to be a balance. The womens workouts seem to be limited to weekday mornings, so I guess they are for the country club set: non-working women. (I know one woman who recently discontinued her membership because there werent evening leagues for women, or men and women, and she works during the day.) They have two nights of mens leagues, but they have a hard time getting enough men to play. (They could try the bulletin board of website to advertise for more players but they dont.) I suggested asking women to join with the men so they would have more players, plus provide evening play for both men and women, but that was out of the question. I played on Thursday night one time last September after having not played for 5 months and was told I wasnt good enough. (I am a 3.5 player.) The internal leagues they do have only run from November into March, except for a Sunday morning co-ed league, which is well run, but only available Sunday mornings. Thus you are paying monthly dues for months when nothing organized seems to be going on. The SM has helpful front desk people, great facilities, but I, and a few others I have talked to, have found the tennis program wanting, being spotty and not that well organized. If other leagues are available they certainly dont make them known. It seems there is too much emphasis on workouts and lessons, and not enough on actual play time, especially for people who dont have a bevy of people they can gather together to play.

My husband and I have been working out at the Sports Mall for almost one year now and we can’t imagine going anywhere else. We have been to nearly all the big popular gyms in Utah and nothing compares to the experience you get at the Sports Mall. This is one well stocked versatile workout and sports center. They have so much equipment and free weights you never have to wait for someone else to finish for the machine or weights you want to use. They have incredible locker rooms furnished with a hot tub, steam room and sauna. They also have a huge swimming pool that is outdoor in the summer and indoor in the winter.If group fitness is your thing the Sports Mall offers a huge variety of classes for all ages. They have Martial Arts, Zumba, Yoga, Palates, competitive Tennis, Racquetball, Handball and Pickle ball just to name a few. They also have excellent personal trainers and weight lifting courses. Something that is really unique is they have a hair salon, smoothie bar and Sports bar & grill called the Point After, so after a hard workout you and your friends can enjoy a celebratory night out or have a delicious meal.One of the best reasons to go there is the staff, they are all incredibly friendly. WE LOVE KENNY!!! His awesome personality and great sense of humor keep us laughing and our spirits lifted, not to mention laughing is great for your abs! Bryson is also one of our favorite staff members! The Sports Mall is more than a gym to us they have become our extended family. THANK YOU for providing such an amazing facility and for all you do to make our everyday experience exceptional!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!!

Good sports mall

I was reading the reviews for the sports mall. And it said many of the responses from the owner it is show me that really he just not care that much for new memberships or people that are actually reviewing the stances. I see that there are many five-star results. But the tone of his responses for people that do three stars are below really show a lack of consideration for potential new clients this will not be one that I will even consider the future.

I was a member at the sports mall but rarely went. My sister had a family membership so I asked the front desk if I was added to her account if it would change her monthly cost. I talked with at least 4 people there asking them the same thing and they all answered with a NO. I got added to her account and they charged her $40.00 a month for me to be added. As soon as I found out I removed myself from her account. I later called to ask if they would refund her account the $80 since we felt mislead and there obviously a lack of communication. I was told no and then hung up on while still trying to get him to see my side.The facilities also leak when it rains and is not kept up very well.I have never been treated so poorly by an establishment before. The man in charge of accounts was rude from the start of our conversation and impatient. This made me get upset. All I wanted was them to see the error and come to a compromise for the account charged. Very dissappointed.

Great gym. TONS of equipment, clean, large facility. I LOVE that there is a lap pool. Ive also done the Zumba classes a few times and really loved them.

Ive been a member for two years now,and its been awesome. I swim mostly, and try to lift weights. Tennis in the winter is always a huge bonus. My wife and kids love the place too.

The tennis facilities at the Sports Mall are the best in the valley. Ive played tennis here for years and Ive always been impressed. Drew Sweet is fantastic.

Great one stop fitness destination’

Ive been a member of this club for about 6 years. As I walked into class today I was reminded of how supported, included, comfortable and welcomed I have felt from day 1! And I have been from 366 pounds and barely able to participate, to feeling amazing after loosing 160 pounds strong and vibrant. Ive taken time away a few times, lost my groove, and come back. Each time everyone, the trainers, staff and other members, always welcomed me back with acceptance. I have NEVER felt judged, scolded or ashamed of where I was at. This truely is an community of like minded people who want a better, whole and heathy world for themselves and others. Thank you for all who contribute to the amazing culture here.Nothing but love and gratitude in my heart for the Sportsmall. It is one of my HAPPY places!!

Best gym Ive ever been to. The gym of choice. They have more to offer: racquetball, basketball, swimming , volleyball, free weights, state-of-the-art cardio equipment, hot tubs, sauna steam and showers. I dont care what kind of screw job deal Vasa has to offer but it doesnt even come close to the Spectrum the Sports Mall is on.

Sports Mall is the best sports facility in Utah offering a very wide array of sports for every athlete, young and old! I highly recommend joining.

This following review is written in the capacity of a consumer of the horrendous service that is provided at this dreadful area for so called, “fitness.” Firstly, I strongly cautions viewers to never consider participating in the courses that the mall provides. Throughout my entire experience of taking lessons for tennis at this mall, I have accurately deduced that I have gained more knowledge of playing tennis through hitting balls against the wall than any of the next-gen of P.E. teachers that coach tennis ever will. After forking $300 into taking lessons, by the end, I was still clueless on how to swing a racket correctly, as these “instructors” are obviously not trained in teaching but rather in the texting on their iPhones. In between messaging friends, most of the instructors didn’t have even enough care to get your name right and instead call you “guy” or “bro” or some other nonsense name that who in the world knows how they came up with it. I mean honestly? By the time you take this course, you will end up confused and helpless, trying to make sense of the exercises that you do that are nowhere near beneficial. This course is no where near what one should expect as a beginner. Instead this place will leave you even more confused than when you started, and like I mentioned before, I strongly advise you to not come to this place.

When you walk in there isnt that welcoming of a tone but as you walk through theres abstract art every where it is warm and the have food near the court by the tennis court theres a vending machine for drinks and food its really fun and nobody gets to cocky

Well maintained indoor and outdoor tennis courts. Membership a little bit costiler. To play tennis you have to buy athletic and tennnis membership.

Me and my family have been members since 1996. We all play tennis and use the gym (weights). Weve met many friends there (even get to have a drink with them after tennis at the Point After which is attached to the sports mall).Great place for families or even just adults to meet other adults to sweat with.

Sports mall - Posh?.. Really? Smells like a used jock strap, filthiest bacteria ridden place i have ever seen. Worn-out or broken equipment, no bands, missing dumbbells, members who dont cleanup up after themselves. Underpaid inadequate cleaning crew. Unorganized mess to train at.

The most fun Ive had in a while. They have amazing volleyball courts.

The sports mall is amazing, as an avid basketball fan I love coming here because they have ADP Lemco basketball backboards. I feel like I am in a NBA practice facility.

Great family rec facility!

Cant beat this place. More personal space, gym equipment, and workout options than anywhere else.This place has an indoor pool, almost a dozen raquetball courts, multiple basketballs courts, several indoor/outdoor tennis courts, and even outdoor san volleyball courts.Best bang for your buck - ive tried 4-5 gyms in slc and nothing comes close. Its about $750 for two people to join for an entire year.5 stars for the smoothie shack and bar!

The Sports Mall is a good sports facility with year round pool and tennis courts. They have a sports bar on the property too.

My kid goes here for taikwondo, their program is worth the drive for us. Never used their other services.

I have no idea where the photos for this Google Place entry were taken, but it wasnt the Sports Mall Ive been to. The place hasnt been remodeled or maintained in over a decade. The carpet is stained with countless plumbing failures and roof leaks, there is hardly a machine that doesnt have cracked pads that tear up your body, the cables on the weight machines are dangerously worn, and you have to steal bent weight pins from other machines because so many are missing. The equipment isnt just annoying, its dangerous to use because of the worn condition. At any time at least half the stair mill machines are broken, and many of the stationary bikes have slipping chains or belts. Even when all the machines are working, you have to step through a rats nest of extension cords and power strips laying around the floor just to get to them. The racquetball courts have patched walls of varying textures that make play interesting.But above all else, the entire facility is hot, humid and smells like the inside of a running shoe after an Ironman. I mean, this place literally stinks. Several times a year there are major plumbing failures or leaks that soak the carpet with who-knows-what oozing out from under the wall of the mens locker room.The staff is completely unresponsive and have to be told multiple times for something as simple as changing light bulbs. Its not uncommon for over half the lights to be burned out for weeks before they are replaced.I am cancelling my membership here. The staff doesnt care at all for the customers or their safety, machines break while in use and the front desk clerks just shrug and say they will put a sign on it then go back to whatever they were doing.

Solid sports complex. Tennis, racket ball, swimming, gym, classes, etc....

I joined the Sports Mall about a year ago, and I love it! The instructors are top notch. Satomis and Kimberlys Saturday morning Aqua Zumba classes are so much fun, and Masuda is a fabulous sub. Peggy is a fantastic lift instructor, and her upbeat personality makes the time fly. Trish is an amazing dance fitness instructor, and she brings so much energy to the class. It is always nice to walk through the main entrance and be greeted by Kenny, who is so kind and friendly.The facility itself is fantastic. There is an outdoor pool, which can be used throughout the winter once a bubble is placed on top. The weight room has a variety of well-maintained machines and free weights, plus there is a room with treadmills and cardio machines. There is an indoor and outdoor track, beach volleyball, racquetball courts, and tennis courts. A hot tub is right inside the locker room, which is so relaxing. Also, there are dozens of great group fitness classes to choose from. My only wish is that there were more lift classes offered at night.I highly recommend this facility.

Ive always had great experiences at the Sports Mall. Great service and facilities.

I really enjoyed my time at the Sports Mall. The spinning classes were really fun and at great times for me.The decor is a bit out-dated, when you first walk in, its like walking into Saved by the Bells Max Diner. But aside from that, Ive never encountered any problems with the weight equipment or the cardio equipment.In reference to the pictures, I pretty much know the exact location of most of those so the above pictures are of the Sports Mall.The staff that I have encountered have always been great. The only exeption I would say are the front desk girls that at times are not paying attention to what goes on around them.I have recently cancelled my membership only because it was inconveniently located for my to-from work routine so I wasnt consistant in attneding. Plus my brother and I have decided to start building our own little home gym so that is always way more convenient. But I would recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a gym to actually go to go work-out. My favorite thing out the Sports Mall is that is so very different from the meat-market that many other gyms have become, where you dont actually go to work out but to show off skimply clothes and is rare to see someone actually break a sweat.Also, the womens locker rooms are awesome with built in saunas, a hot tub and showers.
