The staff was pleasant for the most part. However, when I was wanting to try additional frames on, they seemed to be a little annoyed by it. Maybe because they had to sanitize each pair after they had been touched? So it just made me feel rushed and like I was a burden. So hopefully I picked the right ones lol. Also, they didnt bother to give me a copy of my eyeglass prescription either. Isnt that something you normally get when you get an eye exam? 🤔

I have always gone to Standard Optical, since I was 19 years old. I am now 44 years old. I have bought a new pair of glasses every two years from Standard Optical. I was just at Corporate Standard Optical in West Valley, Utah. Wow! I have had 4 interactions with 4 different people. Every interaction was unique but they all had something in common, BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Each person acted like I was putting them out because I needed my lenses put into my glasses, for which I paid $180.00. I was told I could go to Corporate and get my lenses put into my current frames for an extra fee of $20.00. I liked this option because I cannot see without them. Every Standard Optical establishment I have been to has been amazing except for this place. It baffles me that the employees at Corporate are so rude. You may need to have a meeting and discuss appropriate customer service. I am pretty sure Ill be going to another company after this experience. I dont need to pay $200.00 of my hard earned money to put up with bad attitudes. You might keep in mind that there are other options and other establishments that value customer service. You can thank the gentleman with two earrings for another customer lost. After I pick up my glasses, you wont have to worry about me bothering you again.

Update : I’ve been called back after posting this review and got offered a new exam however i don’t think I can go back there maybe another standard optical! thanks Andrea for calling me backIf you want to waste your hard working money and not be satisfied definitely go here. Because that’s exactly what happened to me. They said the Dr was upset because the computers were down and I definitely felt the tension from him. I wish I would have just canceled or gone somewhere else , I’ve even tried calling to let them know I think I need a new exam because I still can’t see very well out of the contact lenses they had me try on and got no call back.Stop doing this especially to good people !

I had a pleasant experience when I had my eye checke up. The dr was so nice and very kind. The receptionist was so helpful and assisted me to the last detail in selecting the kind of product I’ll get and most of all the price is very affordable. Highly recommended

This is the most off putting “optical” store I’ve ever been to. These employees where seriously on some greasy stuff. I watch a show online called one star reviews where a guy goes and visits businesses with only 1 star. I would love to watch an episode on this place but I really think this spot would blow his mind. Man this place is the worst!!🤓

It was my first time wearing contacts and my eye exam was the fastest eye exam I’ve had. After the doctor finish the eye exam, the lady at the front desk Melissa was showing me how to put contacts in and out. First she told me I can’t go home if I can’t put them in and take them out. So we are practicing for like 15 minutes and I can tell she was very frustrated with me that I couldn’t get them in my eyes. Then she told me to take them home and practice home by myself! Knowing it’s my first time. Before all this, I told her this is my first time and I’m going to need some help and she told me maybe my better option would be glasses before she showed me anything. I was sent home with the contacts and the casing they were in. No contact solution. Nothing. So I watch YouTube and get them in. The whole day I was uncomfortable because they were in backwards. The worst experience for my first time. Couple days went by and I’m still learning on my own and educating myself on the internet. I called to get my evaluation because the doctor has to see that I can take them out and put them in. When they answered the phone I informed them that I was there a couple days ago and wanted to schedule my evaluation. Then I’m asked “who am I” I tell her my name still keeping in professional. She tells me they don’t have an appointment for the doctor until the 26th of February. My initial appointment was on the 2nd. That’s when I called the standard optical located in sugar house informed them my situation and scheduled an earlier appointment. The doctor that checked my eyes at parkway did not have in my charts what contacts I was wearing and when I was getting my eyes checked at this new location I could barely even see the lettering to check my sight and how far I can see. The doctor helping me at the sugarhouse location told me that the contacts that were given to me weren’t great for the shape of my eyes. They treated me better at the sugarhouse location and helped me answer my questions I’ve had. My first experience was not great at all with parkway.

Not only did this place screw up on making my glasses. The representative melissa whom I spoke with laughed at my issues. Im will not tolerate this and I will sue.. This is a shady business run by terrible employees.

I normally go to the Bountiful location but I recently moved. I went in to have a checkup and reorder contacts. I was told as usual I would get a call when they arrive and it should be about a week or two. Three weeks later I called and am sent to voicemail. I can’t get in touch with them on the status of my order so I go to the branch and am told “Did we call you yet ? If we didnt that means they have not came in. I get that, but I need a time frame for when my contacts are arriving. I’m then told they are “backed up” but they will let me know when the order comes. I wait another three weeks with no communication and try calling again. Voicemail again. I left a message and someone called me back to say “Did we call you yet ? If we didnt that means they have not came in.It’s now been well over two months, going on three since I had my original appointment and I still have not received my contacts. I just called again today to check the status and... you guessed it. Voicemail. Didn’t even bother leaving a voicemail this time to get the same answer. Never going to this branch again for lack of communication and robbing me for the expensive contacts I ordered.

I scheduled an appointment way in advance for my day off of work. They gathered all my information including name, insurance info, address ect.. told me the date and time. I put it in my calendar. I get there for my scheduled appointment to be told they didnt have me in the schedule. They waisted my time and day off of work and I dont know when I can get another day off of work. They have lost my business.

Standard optical are pathetic over priced liars i had to have my glasses made multiple times tell they got it right my first pair that i had there replacment warranty on got scratched i took them in come to find out the lenses werent even ANSI thickness yet they said they were so i thought i was working safely but i wasnt then with the new pair this took them about four tries to figure out then another two tell they got it half way right and said this is the last pair we will make for you great service for medical devices for my sight dont waste your time with these money stealing liars

I travel to this location instead of any others . They are all very sweet and treat people good . Heidi is the new manager over at this location and they couldn’t of picked someone better .Her professionalism and kindness goes above and beyond what one would expect. She has helped my son and I on numerous of occasions. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Standard Optical Parkway has always been very helpful and accommodating for me. Their doctors are kind and nice to my kids. They are helpful in getting information on different types of services. They always adjust my wonky glass for free. Have a wide variety of frames. I have been going here for 5 years and no issues at all in any area of service. I really appreciate their service! 👍👍

The whole staff was very friendly and helpful! Every person that I came in contact with was friendly and welcoming.They made me feel very comfortable and like they genuinely cared about me. I usually take someone I know with me so I can get a second opinion on which glasses to get because I am so indecisive on glasses, but no one was able to go with me due to COVID. They were so helpful and friendly, it made me feel like I did take friends with me. They were very patient, I felt really good about all the glasses that they were helping me pick and for the first time, I left 100% happy with the pair I picked. Thank you, you ladies definitely made my day!

This place is awesome! This was my first exam ever and I was so nervous but the Dr was very informative and answered all my questions. The girls helped me pick out an awesome frame and made sure it fit well with my prescription. Definitely will go back! Ask for Priscilla she is great.

I had the best experience with Heidi and Gina they are amazingly helpful and efficient I was there for only a half hour and I left feeling like all my questions were answered and I even played around with the front desk staff a little. I highly recommend these guys!!

I needed some last minute adjustments made to my frames. I called a few places and this was the only one who could get me in that day. They were fast and polite. I couldnt ask for more. I will definitely come again if Im in the area again.

This place will try to squeeze every penny out of your pockets. I agree that they are nice, but only because they want to charge you insane prices for everything. Plus, they wont allow you to leave their office until theyve given you a 20 minute long sales pitch on lasik surgery and pressure you into applying for a medical card. I went in for an exam two months ago and the eye doctor told me I needed a high end contact lens (which I know is not true, but I tried them out anyways). So, they charged me $40 for ONE trial pair of contacts. I called them today to order a box of contacts and for one box they wanted to charge me double the price of what I could get them elsewhere for. I asked if I could order a cheaper brand of contacts and they said, No, you havent been in for a while (2 months) so you would need to come in and get a whole new exam for that. Are you kidding me?! Eye exams are required only once per year, not once per month like these people seem to believe. What a joke. I am very dissatisfied with Standard Optical in West Valley City. I wont recommend this place to anybody.

I DO NOT recommend going here. I waited 25 minutes after my appointment started. There was also another person in front of me, so if I waited for my 12 oclock appointment I would have been seen an hour later. Completely unprofessional, no one apologized for the time delay, no explanation. It seems like the appointments are not kept on time. Save your time and go somewhere else. Its worth the drive.

I havent been here before but I had an amazing experience with Iliana. She explained everything to me and I never had a problem with understanding why my lenses were more than what I was used to. She was pleasant to work with, super understanding and sympathetic. I had a horrible experience in the past with another optical place and I would never say this about Standard Optical!I can see the best with my glasses on now and it was worth the money paid.If you have any optical needs come here and ask for Iliana. She is will take great care of you

Staff very kind , competent and professional. The only issue I had was eye dialation. Ive never had it before and was never told it can be extremely bothersome to the point of very blurry vision resulting in the inability to drive let alone trouble walking for several hours. Wish I would had known this prior..

I had a wonderful experience at this Standard Optical location. Aurora and Courtney were beyond friendly and accommodating. Dr. Kessler was professional and courteous. Even though glasses and lenses ended up putting a small dent into my budget, the whole experience was totally worth it.Having asked whether I should get Lasik procedure done, I was actually discouraged even though my eye sight is not optimal. I only wish that car dealerships had such integrity and customer support as I found here!

I came here and had an great experience. I think they changed management for the better because this is a complete turnaround from the last time.

I will never go here again. They dont know what they are doing down there. They first tried to charge me $200 which my insurance covered, then we straightened that out. Now 3 months later I get a bill from them saying I still owe them $150. They will do anything to get your money. I honestly cant believe how unprofessional and unorganized they are.

I called this location to setup an appointment as I had not heard back from their Taylorsville location. I left a message for the Taylorsville location to call me back and waited a couple hours. This location said they could actually setup an appointment for me there and they did. Ive been to their West Jordan location too. Its a great company. They are always really nice to me when I talk to them or visit the store.

Customer service over the phone is horrible! I called today just to check if my sons glasses were in the the receptionist response was Did we call you yet ? If we didnt that means they have not came in. With a rude tone of voice. She could have just said theres no shipment or let me check! Ive been inside the ladies were nice but we ever answered the phone this evening must and a bad day or hates her or job something.

I didnt like anything! The doctor seemed like he could care less about me! They didnt send in the prescription like they were supposed to and the entire process was a pain!!

I received a prescription for glasses from my eye doctor, then took it to a Standard Optical office to have it filled since they accepted my optical insurance.That turned out to be a very bad decision.When I received the glasses I tried them on and told the person at the desk that the prescription was wrong, not only did she argue with me, but she refused to check the glasses to verify the lens correction.I took the glasses to the Parkway Blvd shop where I again expressed my concern, and finally someone was able to verify that indeed, it was not the correct lens for me.Standard Optical is overpriced, incapable of listening to customers and try to push you into things that you dont need. Recently I saw a pair of over-the-glasses sunglasses that looked interesting, just not $60.00 worth of interesting. I looked them up online and can get the exact same thing for $15.00. I think Im through with Standard Optical.

I went to standard Optical and needed a glasses repair. I worked with Iliana and she was wonderful.She was super friendly and warming. She could keep conversation and she did a great job.She talked to me about LASIK. I think I should come back to get a consult done and I think that I would get it done ASAP.I will be retuning to standard Optical just to work with Iliana again

Did an eye exam almost 3 Months ago and still cant give me my trial pair.... Ohh but they charged my insurance for eye exam and fitting... And yeah I need a special order of contacts but it shouldnt take that long... Cant wait to just go elsewhere with my prescription, thats if they fit right so then they can release the prescription... Ughhh so irritated cuz they give me the run around every time I call...So disappointed!!
