I just had my first appointment with Katlyn and I am SO happy with how my hair turned out!! I get so nervous when trying out a new stylist, and have yet to find the one I want to stick with in the SLC area... until now! Katlyn was so easy to work with. I know NOTHING about hair and somehow she gave me exactly what I was hoping for! She is a very intuitive stylist and was able to give me exactly what I needed, even though I don’t quite understand hair language and what not. Hard to find!! Katlyn walked me through pricing before doing anything, which was much appreciated (as that has not always been the case in my experience with Lunatic Fringe). She was so fun and professional and the whole experience was amazing. Her ability to take me from a brunette/brassy blonde “melt” to a very pretty and natural, dimensional, balayage is incredible!! And it looks so natural which was my #1 concern. I have found my new go-to stylist and I highlyyyy recommend her to anyone. She is incredible and I’m so impressed.

Made an appointment for myself and a friend since we were both looking for a new stylist and this place has great reviews. I told the receptionist we were specifically wanting a stylist that does a good job with cutting and layering. I came in a couple days ago for my hair cut with Aubrey. While she was super sweet and easy to talk to, I couldn’t really tell how my hair cut looked with the way she styled it. After washing and styling my hair today, I looked at the cut. Every “layer” of my hair is uneven!!! I have longer and shorter pieces everywhere. My friend’s cut didn’t turn out well either. Super sweet staff but 2 expensive cuts aren’t quality!

Everything about the experience is seem less, I love how easy it is to book your next appointment and of course the text reminders are always appreciated. From the moment I walk into the salon Anna makes me feel special. She listens to my hair struggles and gives me valuable feedback and together we come up with a plan for my hair. Anna is very knowledgeable and keeps up on current hair trends. It’s always fun to hear about the latest products and styles. I appreciate the time she spends with me going over hair care and styling. I can tell it’s important to her that her clients are comfortable with their hair when washing and styling at home.

I have been getting my hair cut by Micky for 10 years and she never ceases to amaze me! Even as a new hairstylist, Micky always knew exactly how to make me feel beautiful and fun. As the years have gone on her skills and vision have skyrocketed. I can now go to Micky and get a different cut each time and it always looks perfect! I dont even tell her what cut I want. I just sit in her chair and let her artistry shine through. It is never easy for a woman with short hair to find a hairstylist that can make your hair look feminine and edgy at the same time, but Micky does that every single time. She truly cares about me as a client and makes sure I look perfect every time I leave the salon. I am so glad I found her!

I love the atmosphere! To wash your hair out you are taken to a room with dim lighting and music and given a scalp massage, which is very relaxing! Tallie gave me a balayage, she was very nice and did a good job.

Getting my hair done is a major self-care thing for me and McKinley at Lunatic Fringe did not disappoint! I will follow McKinley anywhere but I have to say I love that shes at this salon now.First, about the salon. The front desk attendants were kind and helpful. The Lather Lounge is my new favorite thing! A quiet, dark place where I can relax while my hair is washed and scalp massaged... the absolute best! Most salon shampoo stations are super uncomfortable but the Lather Lounge chairs are amazing. My neck was so comfortable and you KNOW that never happens, especially for short people like me! The salon is brightly lit and not loud like some others can be. It was a quick jaunt off the 215 and really easy to find.McKinley was great! She listened to what I wanted, then explained how she would do it. She checked in with me through the process to ensure we continued to stay on the same page. She had some suggestions for me that I really appreciated. I love my haircut! It can be scary to do something different but I felt reassured the whole time. I cant wait for my next appointment with McKinley!

Kalli cut my hair and she did an amazing job of explaining what would work with my hair and what wouldnt.She was also very personable and easy to talk to. Okay long review ahead!! Went there this last weekend and saw Kallie. Seriously can not say enough nice things about her!! Her customer service was NEXT LEVEL. Ive always had bad experiences with getting my hair done at a salon and have resorted to cutting and coloring my hair from home on my own for the past 5 years. I have brown hair and wanted a blunt cut above my shoulders and wanted to go blonde as well. I was very nervous that bleaching would damage my hair and was hesitant to commit to it. Kallie did a bleach test on my hair and made sure that she would only do what she felt like would keep my hair healthy and look the best. We ended up deciding to just do the blunt cut that appointment and schedule another one to bleach it so that she could have enough time to make sure it looked the way I wanted it to. Will definitely be going to her again!

Lunatic fringe is the absolute best hair salon I have ever been to. Rescheduling with the same hairstylist is a breeze. Everyone there is super nice and talented. When your hair is getting washed there’s no uncomfortable staring at the ceiling or neck cramping, they put a stand in the basin to rest your head on and you get a scalp massage while the conditioner soaks in. But most importantly I have never, ever walked away with a haircut I don’t like. 10/10 will always recommend.

My stylist Aubrey was amazing!! It was such a good experience, especially compared with the bad experience I had with another salon recently. Everything about Lunatic Salon was awesome and I am very happy with how my hair turned out. The Lather Lounge where they wash your hair is extremely relaxing- dim lighting, lovely spa music, good smells. The salon was also affordable (it was 1/3 less than the last salon I went to, except this time I was actually happy with the results!). I highly recommend this salon.

I only ever let Micky touch my hair. With my complicated curls and texture, she always knows how to finesse the color and cut to perfectly suite my style. She’s a master with color and always adds depth and texture to any style. Plus her friendly demeanor puts you comfortably at ease.The facility is clean and professional. Opposed to the salons where individual stylists book a chair and everything looks so haberdash, Lunatic Fringe in Parleys Way has a unique and uniform professionalism.Micky’s books often fill up quickly so I try to book at least 2-3 weeks out. Worth every penny to sit in her chair and have her work her magic!

I went in as a almost platinum blonde needing my roots done and left as a brunette with green grey ashy brown blonde on the ends. FYI the color darkened overnight as well so woke up with Dark brown green grey ashy color. Nice right? No. I drove back to the salon to explain my grievance and the manager couldn’t be bothered to stop a hair cut that she had not yet started to come and speak to me a few feet away. When I demanded she speak to me she did so reluctantly. I now have to walk around with this awful color for 5 days until some one different can try to fix it. I will never use this salon again.

I have always wanted to get blue highlights, but I was afraid that it would turn out terrible. I am also very afraid of my conservative mother-in-law and care way too much about her opinion of me. As a 30-something, I have never colored my hair before -- but a global pandemic can make you do strange things, including seeking one of the few semblances of normalcy like a trip to the salon to try out a fresh new look.I booked my appointment to Lunatic Fringe online (thank you for taking online appointments so I dont have to talk to a human) and was randomly assigned to Kylie as my stylist. Upon entering, the salon was squeaky clean and they took my temperature. Good to go.When I sat in Kylies chair, she listened to my ideas and suffered through my anxiety, but quickly calmed my fears about coloring my hair - especially a fashion color as she called it. Throughout the whole process she so kindly held my hand (metaphorically, of course) and explained every step.And oh my goodness, my hair turned out amazing!!! I am in love. And I am so happy I pushed myself to do something a little crazy. I am especially grateful for the expertise of Kylie who is a true color artist and an all-around awesome stylist. Ill be seeing her again for sure and returning to Lunatic Fringe. Maybe in a few months Ill try purple?

My lovely stylist Kyle was such an amazing hair dresser and person to talk to. He is so personable and makes you feel comfortable and excited the moment you are greeted by him. He is especially great for younger clients like myself, seeing as we know the same stuff and enjoy the same topics. I have never had such a great hairdresser and will most definitely be coming here long term !!!

I came to get my hair dyed purple. My hair stylist was very nice! The only problem was that she didnt have much experience with curly hair, and I ended up having to style my own hair all over again when I got home. It was my first bleach job, so I dont really have anything to compare the dye job to, but the dye washed out in the first month ish of getting it done, which was much shorter than my second and third times dying, even with the conditioner for the few times I washed my hair during that period. Then again, the original color had washed out to a gorgeous peachy color, so I was still happy with it!(Edit: thank you for reaching out!)

I had an all over bleach performed 1.5 weeks ago, it was fine - my hair is usually toned to be cooler and Kiley (?) toned it to be more ashy, the color is fine - nothing miraculous, not exactly what I asked for but fine. Today, I was called and asked if I was coming to my appt. I apologized and said im sorry I have it written down for tomorrow, they told me they would have to charge me the cancellation fee (which she later informed me was the cost of the service) - i asked her how much that would cost and said she would have to check but i was scheduled for a color (but I had just had my hair colored 2 weeks ago) instead of believing me she put me on hold for 5-10 minutes to check my history which is one whole appointment but apparently that requires a long hold, i was under the impression that she was hoping I would just hang up. So they scheduled the wrong appointment and that was my fault. Maria then said that she mistaken and i was correct and it was a cut, and she was going to charge me $50 for having the wrong date because I was informed of the policy, although I was not - i booked that appt in person, and no one mentioned it to me. Also, when i scheduled the cut I was told it would be $35 since it was supposed to be done with my color but we ran out of time - but apparently Kiley and Maria (the manager) can make up prices as they go along - i would have been happy to pay a reasonable cancellation fee, but most places give you some grace especially if its the first time its ever happened. I myself do therapy and have people that dont show up, but id never charge a client the full cost of the service and am very lax - in the long run you make more money building relationships with your customers. I asked to speak with a manager, and Maria said she was the only manager which also seemed weird bc i kept asking her about the cost of late cancellation fee and she again, put me on hold to check - when she returned she asked me for my credit card info to put on file. I will never use Lunatic Fringe again. There was miscommunication in time, and apparently that means i have to pay for something I never received and then pay again if i want to reschedule the service. I didnt receive a reminder call/text, the first contact with them after scheduling the appt was asking me where I was and if I was coming in - i answered their call bc I thought it was the reminder call and that I would have to answer covid screening questions. I requested an owner call me and not one has not reached out by end of business day. Go anywhere else, literally this place may get the job done when there is no one else that can get you in- but there is clearly a reason they always have open appointments and can fit people in last minute. Im super upset I gave Kiley over a 20% cash tip when I got my color done and told her she didnt have to blow dry my hair since I was in a hurry - which took 45 minutes to an hour off the total time of my color. i also said i could still come in tomorrow when I thought the appointment was and would pay up front ... But they wouldnt let the cancellation fee go, im glad that they finally confirmed it wasnt a color appt as I would have been charged $145 and up .. Honestly since they charged me anyways i should have just shown up with my toddler and baby and got my hair cut, lord knows i wont be able to afford one now after paying for an expensive cut i did not receive but was trying to be considerate - but they offered no solutions, so i should have just done it. They clearly show no consideration to their clients.The best of your ability is replying to a google comment stating you can do nothing? I asked for an owner to contact me to Maria, you clearly have my contact information please have one reach out. I am very upset. Any funds that are charged to my card will be disputed. You claim that I was “aware of your policy” but as stated I made my appointment in-person, and your manager was completely rude on the phone.

I absolutely love this place! I have been to a few other salons of this same company and had a good experience but I will say my favorite location is the Parleys one.Everyone is always so helpful and nice. The main stylist I go to is Aubree and she’s amazing but I’ve also had other stylist work with me and have never had a bad experience.I know there’s also a “pretentious” feel salons often have but I’ve never felt that way here as a client and I’m really grateful for that.They go above and beyond to give you a great experience and I would highly recommend anyone coming here!

LF is a great salon, feels both posh/stylish and friendly/comfortable. Its a difficult balance for many salons to pull off. Paige is a fantastic stylist and I couldnt be happier with the color shes given me. I wanted a red that was at once natural looking but also vivid and glamorous, and she nailed it. She took her time consulting with me first and carefully talking through the color strategy. Highly recommended!

Loved my experience at Lunatic Fringe. I had Kea do my hair and she was incredible. She took the time to get to know me and figure out what I wanted to do with my hair. She helped me find a style that fit my needs and looked good. I would definitely recommend this place to others!

I had the best experience here! The atmosphere was so nice and Kylee is AMAZING! I love how she took the time to do everything perfect and took the time to educate me about my hair and the best home care to keep things healthy! Such a great experience!

Anna at Lunatic Fringe Parleys is THE BEST! Im so glad that I found her after moving to SLC from NYC! She always does such a great job no matter what Im asking for and I know Ill love the results every time!
