Being a ward of the state means whatever the state deems best for you as a child, Thats how itll be. Being around as well as with family as a child is very important however, If as a child youre not fortunate enough to be with family the next best thing is what you get. My next best thing was The Medodist Childrens Home, This place played a huge role in the life i lead today! This place is an ideal place for that mother or father who doesnt have time for thatchild, teenagers who desire to run away or die listen this place is for you, if youre out there an want to be an impact player in a teenagers life i challenge you to fill out an application and truly allow your God given passion to take center stage, Youll truly be more than glad that you did!!

I came to MCH sometime in the fall of 2019. My doctors brought me here to better my mental health. My stay here was relatively short, (3 months) & so I stayed in the Lewis building, front hall girls for the entirety of my stay. It was hard at first but it gets better after a while! In case any of them ever see this, thank you from the deepest depths of my heart to Ms. Nita, Ms. Tiff, Ms. Samantha, Ms. Zindzi, and absolutely everyone else who helped guide me. Theres so many I cant possibly name them all. Much love.

I spent my childhood (1.5 - 18 yrs. old) in this home. It was a wonderful place for learning life skills, high values, christian morals and making life long friends. Today, this campus is for troubled teens. I visit every year at Homecoming and see the children in church and I know that the leaders are highly principled, demonstrate Christian values and provide psychological help and family counseling to the families of the children.. I recommend it based on what I see. My sisters and I turned out pretty good. Worked 30 years and contributed to society, Active church members and have many friends!

I lived at the Home twice...I have good memories and bad. Met the most caring people in the world there...Mr. DeVille, Mr. Allen, Mrs. Benefield to name a few... and they all made such a positive impact in my young troubled life!! I can never thank them enough for caring for me when my family didnt!!

I lived here in 1987 or 1988, I was six or seven. They moved me from the old Reception Center directly to James house because I was so young. I was the little angel in the Christmas play that year. I live there again in 1994 but I never left the Reception Center and then again in 1996-97 and I lived in Harmon house. This place holds some of my Fondest and most Vivid memories.

It taught me alot I was a terrible ugly nasty mean hateful child, I went through alot in my childhood so I was rebelining. I was put her by my parents so I was private and my parents had to pay for me to be here. But to be honest that was the best thing In the world they could have ever ever ever done for me. I loved it staff members were very very nice and caring but strict, I loved my social worker in main building before I made it out to Everett house. Ms Rebekah super sweet but straight to the point strict but caring. Then my next social worker Was just as sweet in Everett house Ms Stacey.i loved all the girls they became my family even the staff. To the point where I didnt want to leave. When my my mom an step dad married he wanted me to come home. I didnt want too. Id do it all over again in heart beat i recommend this to any parent with troubled child. The memories I have will last a life time and will forever be with me. In fact Im friends with ole roommate we kept in touch. Love her so much .Thanks Methodist Childrens Home.
