After failing to get my Moderna booster at a CVS pharmacy, I drove from Bethesda to the Giant Pharmacy at 625 Hungerford Drive, Rockville, MD. On the phone, they said that they had Moderna and Pfizer and that walk-ins were welcome. Wrong. A pharmacist or pharmacy employee told me that they only give the vaccine by appointment. I told her about what the phone said, and she repeated that they dont accept walk-ins. Her tone was rude. By the way, this has been my experience in many pharmacies. Do they select pharmacists and pharmacy employees to be ruder than the average supermarket employee? After two failed attempts to get the booster, I understood how some people may not get vaccinated for lack of easy access.

This pharmacy has been nothing but problematic since Ive used it. Theyve not informed me of issues with prescriptions. Theyve misinformed me about availability of important medications, the staff is not accommodating. Theyve left me waiting for an hour or two for a 10 minute refill just to let me know they cant fill it after I complain. Ill be switching to someone else as its just ridiculous at this point.

This is a review of the pharmacy NOT the grocery store. Every time I come to the Giant pharmacy and have to deal with the lead pharmacist - I think her name starts with an H (she has olive skin tone, brown hair, middle-aged), I have the WORST experience. Shes rude, has zero sense of customer service and does nothing to assist customer concerns or alleviate any forms of anxiety. Honestly not sure why you would work as a customer serving pharmacist with that kind of temperament. Will be switching pharmacies for sure.

Incredibly slow service

Ive been coming to this grocery store for YEARS and rigilously used their pharmacy. I stopped because they didnt carry my medication and recently decided to come back and had the WORST experience. The other pharmacy assistants or pharmacists have been amazing and kind but specifically the head pharmacist Helina (I believe is how its spelled) is awful in how she treats customers. Ive been having problems with my medication prescription however she did nothing to help alleviate the problem or try to help ensure I would leave with my meds. Instead she brushed me off. Even if it was a problem with my insurance (which it wasnt because I called to double check) she was extremely rude and it was uncalled for. Already switched over to CVS pharmacy because of this situation.
