I was considering this facility for a close relative, because it had a good reputation. NO MORE! Based on reviews from those who placed relatives there including those whom I have known for many years, pls do NOT send your loved ones there for any reason! The frontline staff works very hard but is dangerously understaffed. The supervisory and management staff do NOT care except to tell everyone how great they are. Licensing agencies need to do an expedited review to make sure that health and safety codes are not being violated!

When I arrived I was taken to my room in a wheelchair where I sat for two hours waiting for someone to come help me into bed. While I was waiting my knee began to swell. I just had knee replacement surgery and was considered a fall risk. So I needed assistance to get into the bed. Eventually I just figured out a way to get into bed and thankfully I did not fall. The nursing staff were very incompetent especially with my pain management. I would sit in my room for hours in pain sometimes in tears because I did not receive my pain medication in a timely manner. I was only there for three days because I had enough. My incision was starting to bleed through my bandages because of the swelling in my leg. I called my surgeons office as to what I should do and they instructed me to let the nurse know so that they could change my dressing. Without removing the old bandage the nurse manager started to put a clean gauze dressing over the leaking bandage. I told her to stop. Eventually I had to get the surgeons office back on the phone and they instructed them step by step on how to care for and change my dressing. The only saving grace at this facility was the Physical Therapist. They did a wonderful job in helping me to get to the point where I was able to leave the facility early. The quality of care has drastically gone down since my time there just a little over two years ago. If I could give them a zero rating I would. I would not recommend this facility to my worse enemy.

I have a loved one here and the care is abysmal. It was up to my parents but if I could choose a different rehab I would. They are so understaffed because of how poor they treat their employees that 12 hour shifts are mandatory. It is impossible to call and get information about your family members and the building is still in lockdown because they continue to have covid outbreaks. I have never been able to speak with or get a call back from any of the doctors. We were told that we should probably hire an aide because staff doesnt have the time to properly care for anyone. Its such a shame because this place had a great reputation but greed has certainly gotten the better of them. Please, if you have a choice, do NOT send your loved one here. I should have read the reviews and shown them to the rest of my family first. Look at the responses to the complaints. Every response is a canned message. They really do not care if your family lives or dies as long as they pay.

The quality of care is beyond horrible! My mother was here twice before several years ago for post-operative rehab and the standard of care was wonderful. My family and my mother raved about the therapists and staff. Now, it’s like a completely different facility. From the day she was admitted until the day we took her out by ambulance in critical condition, we found the care to be so poor that we hired private aides to be our eyes and ears to be sure that, at least, her basic needs were being met. I will always regret my decision to place her here. The only reason I’m giving it one star is because it won’t let me post without clicking on one.

My mother is law has been transferred recently from the hospital to this center. Every day she has been getting worse. No one cares for ppl there they are left on their own. There is no care whatsoever. There are no word to fictive this inhumanity and luck of heart in this place. No one comes to give water to feed her to change the dippers. She got water in her lungs and sores on the back as no one will move her from the bed to chair or side to side. Ppl who work there should be responsible for for killing ppl in court.

Sissako, and Taiow are Angels sent from Heaven. Serious I think they are hiding the angelic wings under there uniforms. They do there job well with a smile. They have been taking care of my father in law during this hard time and they have made his stay as great as it could be. They also have gone the extra mile to help him stay connected to us during the pandemic. I appreciate the hard working people at the Hebrew Home and particularly SIsako and Taiow. Thank you

I’m not sure I can add to what has already been said. Extremely disappointed. Brother-in-law transferred there for hospice care and only after he was there were we told no visitors for 10 days!! That policy wasn’t shared 2 days earlier when we delivered the required $14k check.Don’t bother calling administrator, she won’t answer and won’t call you back.

This is THE place! If you dont want your loved one to live, book a room here, this place will kill them. They have absolutely no regard for you as a family member, that you care and know your loved one best. There is no one watching nursing staff, housekeeping or other team members, it is a free for all and your parent is the one who will suffer. Then once they pass, all regard for you flies out the window. A Jewish organization should be ashamed to have their name on this facility. Better can be done for those at the end of their lives.

Never can get in contact with anyone. Terrible/rude staff! No care was provided to my loved one while she was there we eventually had to take her out and make other arrangements. If you love your loved one find somewhere else. The quality of the care is poor and insufficient.

Honestly kind of surprised by all the 1-star reviews. My family member has received good subacute rehab care here (were on our second visit). The warmth and generosity of the staff is great. Of course Id like more PT/OT and physician visits but honestly its Medicare that limits that, not the facility.4 and not 5 stars because, as another reviewer noted, therapy schedules are unpredictable and difficult to plan visits around.

Very disappointed with the medical team who took too long to respond to my mother’s health condition that resulted in her death. She died in the hospital cause of death, urosepsis/infection. If your love one resides there, please be vigilant in their care. The locked down also played a major role which restricted visitation. Disappointed!!!!!

The care during the COVID crisis was horrible, team members did not respond to request on my family member’s condition, failed to report significant deterioration and were not honest about care they were providing, and eventually led to his death. They messed up every single thing about his care in the past several months. Do not put your loved one here for any reason!

My family member went there for rehab after hip surgery. Extremely dissatisfied with the level of care she received from most of the nurses and techs. Sharon and Arnel were very good.I always feel like these places like to over medicate senior citizens. I personally asked that they find something else to give her for the pain because I didnt like the side effects I was noticing, but they continued to give her more instead of less. She was so medicated she couldnt tell what day it was and was acting totally different. They processed her discharged at night, following that it seems that she was just left unsupervised. No one made sure her leg was positioned properly and what happened? Her new hip dislocated during the night. What did they do to help her? NOTHING. All they wanted to do was give her medicine. She laid in the bed with a dislocated hip ALL DAY! ALL DAY. If i hadnt called the doctor and demanded they do something I dont know what would have happened...Think carefully when selecting a rehab facility for your family members. Dont just accept it because its offered by the hospital or based on the neighborhood...do some research. I wish I had. My family member is home now and Im glad!

Weekend was very short staffed. Resulting in poor care. Several pieces of room equipment was broken or non functional and no one available to repair or replace for several days. Medications were changed without telling me. Medications prescribed by the doctor was changed and nonprescription offered. Originally prescribed drugs were not available for several days. The drugs changed were not the same.

My brother was a patient and hated every day of his HH experience. He was looking forward to leaving as he was on the mend. Staff inserted a catheter, lacerated an organ and caused internal bleeding. Two weeks later my brother was dead as a result of their incompetence. Horrible place.

Their interview process is just waste of your time, days, weeks and months. You will be asked to do telephone interviews, face to face interviews and will be asked to do different tests in their office which will consume two weeks and they keep calling you for different days. They will ask you to do those test even if they know they will not hire you. They will call you again and again to their office for the never ending tests even they very well know they will not hire you. If you score good or high, they are not hiring as they are looking for specific person as per their office needs.Apply if you are 50 or above as this is what their office set up needs. There is no use of face to face interviews or waste 5, 6 days on the tests, telephone interviews.Their interview process is very unstructured, They look for very specific personality as per their office set up.

The nursing staff, with very few exceptions, is atrocious. My relative was here for sub-acute rehab after a major hip surgery -- she needed to learn to walk again after over three weeks in a hospital. The nurses and aides routinely ignored her requests for help (for example, they would not help her lift her legs to the bed when she was unable to do so herself), would yell at her if she asked simple questions (for example, when she asked what her blood pressure was, the nurse shoved the monitor in her face and said read it yourself), and often had to be asked 3 or 4 times before they would place orders for necessary meds. I witnessed all of these things while spending time at the Hebrew Home with my relative. One of the worst things I witnessed was when the nurse left the room as my relative was slowly walking to the bathroom with her walker -- my relative was unsteady on her feet after the hip surgery and at an ENORMOUS risk of falling, but the nurse (or aide) couldnt be bothered to stay in the room to assist. I helped her to the bathroom, wiped her once she was done, changed her clothes, brushed her teeth, and got her back to bed, and all the while the cal button was beeping and nobody came to help. That said, we were very pleased with the PT and OT staff, they were excellent, and there were one or two aides who seemed to genuinely care for their patients.

I received sub-acute rehab here for 4 weeks. Not sure why Occupational and physcial therapy are not on a daily schedule for patients. The patient is not informed of when OT or PT will be performed, the therapist walks in the room and takes the patient for therapy. As with all medical facilities they are understaffed and therefore I recommend a sitter be hired for your family memeber. The techs and nursing staff are too stretched. Meals are fine but not delivered at the same time daily. Better business practices are needed in most areas. In general, I rate the Hewbrew Home Sub Acute Rehab (Wasserman Bldg.) 2-3 stars. I would not recommend this facility, try Sibley Renassaince Rehab for sub scute care.
