AVOID THIS OFFICE. I had one appointment which was very rushed and I was told a prescription would be sent to my pharmacy. All seemed great until about a week later, I still hadn’t heard that my prescription was ready so I called the office. They said they would send it that day. Two weeks later, same thing happens. A month after my appointment, still nothing. I called more times than I can count and every time I was told they would handle it right away. I waited well over a MONTH AND A HALF for this prescription and I still don’t have it as I told them to forget it, today and that I would go elsewhere. TERRIBLE service and they only answer the phone half the time. I highly recommend you avoid Rockford Dermatology if at all possible!

They want a copay upfront and you have to hustle to get taken care of. I had a similar problem with not receiving my prescription after they said they would call it into the pharmacy. I have called numerous times and left messages and my appointment was over 2 weeks ago and still havent gotten my prescription yet. I also feel like I wasnt properly diagnosed and have had a rashfor almost a year now. I wish I wouldve went somewhere else because Im still not treated eventhough Ive paid for a few doctors appointments. I

Dr. Coates is very nice. I really enjoyed having her take care of me. And the office is lovely and very relaxing. My issue is the billing. Every visit Ive had there, my billing has been exhausting to try to take care of. Ive paid at every visit for my copay or cosmetic visits that require full payment at time of service. For every visit, I get a bill several months later. I call the office and have to leave a message. Its several days before I get a return call. Then when I do get a call back they have to pull my chart and call me back again. This is all after calling the billing service number thats on my statement and being told they cannot help me if Ive already paid and that I need to call the office directly. And theyre very matter of fact which comes across as rude as if Ive wasted their time. Its sad, the billing piece of the business is lacking which causes great frustration. The bills come showing 120 days over when youve not received a statement prior. AND youve paid it already!! I stopped going because of this frustration.

This place is a joke! and the doctor wasn’t much help I was asked the same question over and over as if my answer was going to change then I felt like she was making it seem like I couldn’t comprehend, I’ve been told that dermatologist don’t specialize in African Americans skin seeing that she is an African American doctor herself I had pretty high hopes that wouldn’t be the case I was wrong she wasn’t much help. I also thought I would have more test or bloodWork done to see if there may be some sorta allergic reaction going on instead I was just asked over and over what treatments am I using after explaining my diet and skin regiment over an over I will not be retuning to this office I’ll have better luck fixing the issue myself wasted time and bill for my Insurance

I thought my first appointment went well. But when I called after the first appointment I could not get anybody to call me back to schedule another one!Tried twice so will go elsewhere

Avoid this office! My daughter had four appointments here for a procedure. Two of the appointments we waited about 20 minutes in the lobby and 20 minutes in the room. The other two, over an hour in the lobby which was pretty much empty. Total,this was over 3 hours of unnecessarily waiting. 3 hours of taking off work without pay and 3 hours she missed from school. Thats not including time spent with the doctor, who was friendly and nice. 8 months later I received my FIRST and only bill from them. It was marked with a 10 day notice till collections. I called the office multiple times and a week later they called me back. The only option for payments they would give me was split up into 4 monthly payments. It was a large amount. Im a single mom and cant afford that large of a payment. This will probably ruin my perfect credit. Also contacted my insurance company because the bill did not match what they billed my insurance. I have never dealt with a doctors office like this one. Save yourself time and go somewhere else.

Dr. Coates is hands down best dermatologist and MOHs surgeon in and around the Rockford area. Its refreshing to have a Dr. that sees patients as people and not a number. Definitely will recommend to family & friends!

The Dr. Coates and her staff members are very proactive and always accommodated my needs. When I had a procedure done underneath my foot, the stitches became loose after a couple of days because I didnt listen to the doctors instructions to stay off my feet. However, I was able to see her right away. Having a medical background, I asked for an aircast and or crutches to accommodate my limited ability to walk and she gladly wrote me a scribe to get it at a place that my insurance covered. Sometimes there are long wait times but this occurs in all clinical and hospital settings. I found that morning appointments tend to be the best to minimize wait time. Overall, Im completely satisfied with their services.

Rockford Dermatology is unprofessional in every way. For simplicity (since SO many things went wrong) I will innumerate my points.1. I saw the actual dermatologist for one appointment. An assistant took over for each following appointment.2. I was denied my request for Accutane and made to try a 6 month long antibiotic instead. When that did not work, Accutane was suggested as if I had never asked for it. After explaining my time constraints due to going out of the country soon which was the reason I asked for Accutane 6 months earlier in the first place, I was told that I can not start Accutane until I return. This is untrue as I am now starting it with Hartsough Dermatology.3. I waited at least an hour in the waiting room for each appointment even though I was always on time. At one appointment, I had to ask if I could come back because I would be late for work if I waited much longer. Only then was I taken back for my appointment.4. Phone calls are rarely answered and rarely returned. I have seen other reviewers say similar, but those reviews seem to be gone.All in all, I had a very negative experience at this practice at which I left two appointments in tears. Save yourself time and money and do not go here!
