Exceptional service and care. Dr. Smith works with you and listens to your input to create the best routine for your recovery.
Dr. Smith took time to listen and understand my needs. He cares for and respects his patients. Very knowledgeable and has a desire to help his patients feel better and have a higher quality of life. His fees are very reasonable. He made me feel comfortable and important. I left the office feeling better than I have in years!
Doctor Smith works miracles. He is kind, friendly, and funny! He makes you feel comfortable and is good at explain reasoning for treatment.
I struggled for a very long time with the decision to write this review. My experience was more of a personal nature and had nothing to do with the adjustments or competency of the Chiropractor. The office staff (for the most part) were kind and helpful. The Doctor was a church going man and we discussed our faith at length. However, I had multiple run-ins with one of the ladies that worked in the office. She attacked me for my faith in the LDS church, not wise in a predominantly LDS community. She repeatedly made VERY crude comments, that I refuse to repeat, about leaders and other men of the church (specifically bishops and seminary teachers) that referenced pornography, etc. On another visit she made derogatory comments about the Dr and his belief in the Temple. All of this coupled with cursing and blatant disrespect for my beliefs that were directed towards me. It was extremely unprofessional and I was very uncomfortable. This happened on multiple occasions and it feels as though this is a common occurrence and I cannot be the only one that experienced this disrespect.Again, the Dr was wonderful, friendly and did help with my pain. However, he needs to reevaluate his hiring standards.Edit in response to the owner: The half attempted apology was insulting at best. Starting off acknowledging the fact that the person who was blatantly vulgar and very rude towards me would like to apologize suggests that they are aware of the problem and would like to make things right. The next statement shows that the apology is lacking in sincerity and the business is not taking responsibility for their employees actions and trashiness. Implying that this review was in some way related to an outstanding balance is a desperate attempt at saving face (a very poor one, at that).
My roommate had a horrible experience. She was charged $400 for two thirty minute appointments, which is a significant chunk of college savings. The appointment didnt even fix anything. My other roommate goes to a different doctor who only charges her $75 for an hour appointment. If you are having problems, DO NOT CHOOSE THIS CLINIC!!! There are plenty of other doctors in the area who will not only solve your back problems, but wont over charge you for them, leaving you pockets empty and your body unfixed.
Doctor Smith fear mongers his patients. I had a problem with my back and he gave me two options. 1. To keep coming back with adjustments once a week and to not fix my back for long term. 2. To come back multiple times a week, have scans, x rays, and find the problem and fix it long term. You can tell which one I picked, number 2. He had convinced me that I had major back problems with impending back surgery. The charges racked up and I had to stop after about 3 months because it was about $300 for a scan and x ray and $60 every time that I went. But what he didn’t tell you was that part of that $60 every time was $10 for going to the table to get you warmed up for being adjusted. He said that it was mandatory to do that and go to the table to get warmed up but never said that it cost extra money. If I knew that it cost, I wouldn’t of done it. Overall, it seemed like he was just doing his best to get money out of me. Do I think he’s knowledgeable? Yes. But I also think he knows how to earn quick money. I wish I had gotten a second opinion. Go somewhere else unless you have money to burn. Not college student friendly.UPDATE: The office reached out to me and were more than willing to work with me on my bill. They were very friendly and understanding with everything that went on. It was a nice ending to a difficult situation.
Doctor Smith is really nice and does good work. However, I have had very frustrating experiences with insurance and dealing with the front desk. They are friendly and polite, but the only healthcare place I’ve been to that can’t straight up tell me my copay which is really frustrating. The chiropractor I go to now easily pulls up my information and can tell me all that I need to know. They also just called me more than a year later telling me they had been sending my bills to my old address. This was the first time I had gotten any communication about that and thought they had already been paid. They did work with me and gave me a discount, however every encounter I had with this place left me frustrated hence I quickly switched to another chiropractor.
The staff are super nice and Dr Smith is very knowledgeable and thorough. My back and shoulder have been bugging me and he figured out what was wrong pretty quickly and got me treated no problem. Its been years since I first started taking myself and my kids here and well stick with it. He gets us fixed up fairly quickly and I never have to make too many visits.
Doctor Smith is hilarious and fun, but more importantly, he uses chiropractics in a targeted way to help heal identified problems. The student discount is positively generous and after only 4 visits, I feel worlds better.
Love this place! they offer special pricing to students and they usually can fit you in as a walk in! but this place is getting more and more popular and its all because the service is fantastic! I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend giving this place a shot! the doc has fixed my back countless times now!
My husband bought me three 1-hour massages for Christmas, and I completed my third last week. Every time I went I was experiencing some degree of pain (either in my lower back or upper shoulders/head), and the masseuse did an amazing job re-adjusting those problems even though she wasnt obligated to. She did a great job working out many of the knots and tightness I was experiencing! I can tell that the workers are very healing-oriented and considerate of their clients.
Very helpful and friendly staff. I could really tell they were concerned for me and my health. I had a chronic shoulder injury from a motorcycle crash and they were so helpful to get me the helped I needed. Id love to go back as soon as my doctor clears me from shoulder surgery recovery.
I will forever call the back Smith my second home! I was in a automobile accident while I was serving a few years ago, I still experienced a lot of pain after I completed my 18th month service. Coming to Dr. Smith really helped me with my body to heal from the inside out. I will forever be grateful for their kindness. I love Marianne and Carly so so much! They make you feel loved and they really do take care of their patients. That’s something that I really do love, is that they are not money hungry, they are really there to make you feel better. They do their best to help you and to work with you. Also something that is really nice is Dr. Smith takes x-rays before he will even adjust you. That’s how you know if it’s a good chiropractor or not. He is literally the best in Rexburg ♥️♥️♥️♥️🤩🤩🤩🤩
I came in from out of town and had injured my back on the trip. They got me right in, were so friendly and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend them for your healthcare needs.
Dr. Smith and staff are amazing. They have cured me of my various aches and pains many times. Great chiropractor and great massage therapists! You guys rock!
Dr. Smith is awesome! Hes so friendly and hes dedicated to doing whats best for his patients. He doesnt believe in just doing patch-up jobs and sending you away, only to make you come back soon thereafter to have the same problem fixed again. He wants to know the root of the problem so he can treat it and help the body heal permanently. I left my first appointment feeling so much better, but also like Id just gone to get a massage. He found all the troublesome areas (bones and muscles), taking it all into account as to what the main issue is. He really knows what hes doing. Id recommend him to anyone!
I’ve been to a few other Chiropractors, but this office is the best. Instead of leading you on, Dr. Smith keeps you in the know and gives you all the information you could want. He made a plan with a timeline for ne so I know I can recover fully from my problems.
My daughter is attending BYUI and had a stiff neck. A few days before she went to the Backsmith she asked me if she should get an adjustment. My chiropractor I have used in Pocatello for years charges $25 for a 15 minute visit/adjustment. I do construction so my back has to be adjusted a few times a year. Usually I feel much better after 1 adjustment. My daughter called and scheduled an appointment with the Backsmith. During the visit they didnt recommended an adjustment on the first visit. They called it a pop and pray . Implying that a simple adjustment wouldnt work. They convinced her to get xrays and then told her she had serious issues in her neck as well as lower back. She left paying $375(her college savings), with no adjustment and convinced she had major issues with her back. My daughter is athletic, excercises, does yoga and has never and doesnt currently have major or ever minor back issues. A quick adjustment from Dr. Jepson in Rigby did the trick for less then $75. If she ever needed a return visit its $50. This pop and pray scare tactic is more of a way for them to prey on young kids away from theirs parents for the first time. This approach is incredible dishonest and should have no place in a town like Rexburg.
Over the last 5 years I have had food allergies develop and was having problems swallowing foods. I was tested and found that I was allergic to 46 different foods and I was told to avoid eating them. This made life very difficult because I had to change my diet tremendously. After trying to stay away from the foods that I as allergic to, I lost a lot of weight. So I began to eat what I normally ate and took a steroid to keep the allergies at bay. After hearing Dr. Smith can cure allergies I went and began to do the NAET treatments. After a few sessions I began to notice I was having less issues swallowing and after 4 visits I stopped taking the steroid and I haven’t had any issues swallowing. I haven’t cured all my food allergies yet, but I have taken care of the major ones that I eat on a daily basis like Grains, Calcium, Potatoes, Tomatoes, and some Vitamins. Our kids have had allergic reactions to artificial food coloring and artificial flavors used in food today which has caused hyperactivity and ADHD symptoms. After taking them we have noticed they do not have those episodes after eating food that had those artificial products. I am not saying artificial food colors and flavors are good, we still try to stay away from products that contain them, but sadly they are in a lot of products and having Dr. Smith help us with our kids has made it more peaceful in our home and our kids are doing better in school since they are able to focus better. If anyone in your family has some type of allergic reaction, I would recommend Dr. Smith to see if he can treat it.
Dr. Smith has amazing talents he is a Great Chiropractor. Alan Smith has been in practice for over 20 years and has help my friends and family receive great care. He is always concerned with the health, and well being of his patients. He has helped me so much with the pain in my neck, back and the numbness in my hands that i was having throughout the day and worse at night.... Now that Dr. Alan Smith has been working on me I have been feeling more strength in my hands and arms and less Pain !!!!Thank you so much
The service is really good but too expensive if you need multiple visits. Dr. Smith really cares about the long-term well being of his patients.
I feel a thousand times better after visiting the Backsmith! The whole staff is amazing!
Dr. Alan Smith was very thorough in his examination. I really liked how he put me on a water massage table for 15 minutes before adjusting me to relax my muscles. He used the diversified method (or manual adjustment) with me, which is the method I prefer. He also can use the activator. I felt much better after his adjustment. If you are not sure whether he is contracted with your insurance company, ask if they are in network when you call to set up an appointment.I would definitely return to Dr. Smith. I think his adjustments are the best in Rexburg!(Ive been to 3 other chiropractors in Rexburg)
Yesterday, I did a fair amount of lifting sprinkler pipes over my head. I have a torn rotator cuff so of course I did most of the lifting with my good arm and I told Dr. Smith about the injury so he wouldnt injure the torn rotator cuff more. As if I hadnt told about the tear, which was about 5 months old, he actually spent more time on the tear than he did on my sore back! I was real nervous about what he was doing, but then he worked on my neck more than he did on my lower back. All said and done, my shouder hasnt felt better since I had the accident, I could turn my head and back out of the parking space by his office without turning my whole body! As far as the lower back is concerned, he said it was a strained muscle from lifting the pipe with only one good arm and for me to set in a kitchen chair instead of my beloved recliner for a week or so and it would be all better. Dr. Smith is a great doctor!
Does great work!
