Had to be induced. Wouldn’t get me in until 41 weeks because it wasn’t “medically necessary” although I was anemic and had already been to urgent care because of dizziness and over all feeling terrible. Nice amenities in the building, not a good experience. Lots of rude nurses, including a nurse who continually was telling me to “just move my legs and roll over” when my lower half of my body was numb from the epidural I had received, and she wouldn’t even help me. And another nurse who kept discussing politics and expressing her political views with me, which was really unprofessional, assuming I would agree with her opinions. They gave me a non fda approved medicine, misoprostal, also used to abort babies, to induce my labor, which in response caused uterine hyperstimulation and put my baby in distress, bringing down his heart beat to a dangerously low place. Nurses ran in and had to give me a shot to bring it back up. Could’ve ended up as a C-Section because of this. Thankfully he is okay. One nurse kept calling me a worry wart and told the other nurse that she should watch out because I “moan and groan a lot” when I’m “not in serious pain.” So, yeah, disrespectful, obnoxious staff and doctors who will put your baby at risk.

I delivered my baby in 2020 and received a very warm welcome from nurse Felicia ,she has a golden heart ,takes her time to explain things and very charming and professional she made me and my husband feel warm considering it was our first time here.

Clean facility but I have permanent hip damage from giving birth here. One of the nurses had the audacity to tell me not ask but tell me “keep it down” and I am huffing and puffing out a baby. I was sent home when I came in for contractions and they had to wheel me to my car because my legs gave out and I fell but still got sent home and within the time it took to drive from Renton to federal way my contractions worsened in the car and I was ready to push once I got home as the baby was coming hospital or not. Went back and was told to keep it down and then was rushed out before my uterus was pushed on to express the placenta and fluids because “we need to induce someone else”Awful experience, not one anybody would ever want during a sentimental moment and life changing experience

We just had our second child delivered here and I can say that because of the absolutely amazing nurses, we were again able to make it to the end without intervention. The people who work at this birth center are hardcore in the best of ways. Both times they worked tirelessly to give my wife everything she needed to give birth how we wanted. I don’t know how to describe how thankful I am that we gave birth here. As giving birth has begun to trend away from hospitals (we are there) I can tell you unequivocally that if you were looking to have a home birth vibe but want to be next to the resources that are so priceless if anything does go wrong this is the place to be.All the staff will be in our memories as part of the joy of bringing our little girls into the world.

The nurses were exceptional. They work hard and were seemingly always present. Jeannie was the best. There was a bit of a language barrier with her at first, but she was very genuine and knowledgeable. The room is large, but maybe a bit dated. Not that I really care, but the TV was tiny and couldnt get the DVD player to work. I am taking a star off because nobody can tell me how much everything costs. Especially the epidural. I know the health of Mom and baby are most important. But once the dust settles and the bills start rolling in, it will have a significant effect on our family. I paid about $2700 (with so-so insurance) for the care of Mama and the room. But that doesnt include the epidural or the doctor or the care of the baby. Just tell me how much to expect to pay!Out of pocket:Mama and room $2700 with prompt pay discountBaby Care $2200Doctor $900Epidural $400

We had a great experience at Valley. Our daughter came 1 month early and our whole experience from triage to epidural to inpatient care, we were well taken cared of during our 3 day stay. Our main nurses were Marsha (in Triage) and Merideth and they were exceptional. Being first time parents to a premie baby is a scary thing but our nurses assured us we will be great parents; taught us (feeding, bathing, changing diapers, etc) everything we needed to know to take care of our little one. Take the birthing tour (6 weeks before your scheduled due date) it helped us a lot with knowing where to go when we were in labor.

The nurses at valley are phenomenal!!!! Giving birth for the first time. Is scary but the nurses kept me calm and informed and helped my husband! They were kind and caring ! I can’t say enough about them! My main nurses with Juju and Caitlin, and they were excellent. Even tho I wasn’t able to have my doctor in delivery ( dr Kelly Martin, she’s also wonderful) dr Lewis delivered my baby boy and she was great as well! My first birth experience was great thanks to you all!!!!

I had my son here in 2008 and came from Auburn to Valley Medical Center because I had loved the looks of it when my sister in law had her baby. They had a wonderful informative tour of the floor that you can schedule and I went to their 1st time parent birthing classes. It was a great experience. I ended up having an emergency c section, they dressed my husband up quickly and brought him back with me so he was never not by my side. They kept us calm and took wonderful care of my now 10 year old son who was born healthy. The food is AMAZING!! The nurses were wonderful and so helpful. In 2011, living in Puyallup at the time, we drove all the way to Renton passing by 2 hospitals for Valley because of our first wonderful experience and this one was even better. They were so attentive and really make you feel like you are the center of their world. While you are in active labor you are the nurses ONLY patient, so you get to know her well and she regularly checked on me without me calling her in. The rooms are HUGE, not like those tiny good sam hospital jail cells that Ive been in to visit relatives who have given birth. I highly recommend this hospital to anybody and everybody. If there were 10 stars, they would get it!!

This is by far the worst hospital I have been too. I had attend 6 births in my life including one of my younger brothers. I had never seen a clinic that had such a bad costumer service when you do check ups. We wanted to transfer to another hospital after we walked out 3 weeks ago due to our appointment kept delaying. My wife came in 20 minutes early to check in because they said 5-10 mins early is not enough. Every time we go in, we waited longer than any other hospital. The third last visit, they made my wife undressed in the room for over an hour than a nurse came in and checked on our baby stress level. Which was never needed from the beginning. We understand our babys doctor (Dr. Hunt) concerning about his under size. My wife is petite asian (98 lbs) when we got married last year. She last weighed at 132 lbs giving birth to our baby 5lb and 15 oz (almost 6lbs). My wife was at 38 weeks giving birth to our baby. Before my wife gives birth to our son, she was really stressed out every night in bed. She told me that the our doctors said our baby could die and she is concerned, so we had to keep coming to the hospital twice and sometime three times a week. The triage nurses that did our ultra sound and stress tests told us not to be concern after many stress tests normal results, and because the hospital only uses one size chart. We were happy, but they still asked us to come in twice a week to check on our baby ultra sound and stress tests.I took my wife to the clinic many times, witnessing the worst costumer service in my life. My aunt is a nurse at Harbor View, and when I told her what happened, she told us to transfer to another hospital. I wanted to, but my wife said Dr. Hunt is so nice, and its not her, but the front desk schedulers and a few nurses who are unprofessionally in the field. My wife came in on July 1st for another check up, and was rush into the Birth Center. We were not explained by the doctor or nurses in the ultrasound, and Dr Hunt was not in for the day. My wife rushed into the birth center, and next thing was induction on her to force our baby out early. Perhaps it was close to July 4th and their will be lest nurses and doctors around and so they just want to get this over with. Seems like that way to us the whole time. My wife wasnt in pain or feel the need to give birth at all before she came into for her exam.My wife was inducted with two balloons and understood her pain level. After two morphine through ivy, my wife was settled for first 16hrs of inductions. She has the highest pain tolerance I have seen in anyone, including myself. After labor, my wifes pain was worst than contracting previous night and during birth. My wife was given 5 mg oxycontin and ibuprofen to reduce the pain. But after less than 30 minutes, her pain level reach above 6/10. She was asked to take Tylenol by the doctor. But she had explained, and I had made sure with the daytime nurses and doctors that she couldnt use Tylenol due to her allergy (Hives on her face and body). Being with her for over 9 years now, I saw all her reaction to drugs. Yet the on call doctor at night shift (Dr. Hamer Theresa) kept forcing my wife to take the Tylenol and questioning her for over 30 minutes while my wife pain level was 9/10, crying herself. I step in the room and saw what happened, then my wife told me to talk to the doctor. I spoke with her and explained the allergy. I found out that she was the rudest and least understanding doctor I have meant. With my Chemistry and Biochemistry degrees, I still couldnt believe how she had become a doctor.Third night there was even worst with the nurses and charge nurse being lazy. We walked out on our own. Will never come back to this hospital. Unprofessional in their fields, and no costumer service. Good luck to everyone who goes there and walk out happy or alive.

Had a very poor experience when in labor , the nurses treated me like trash and wouldn’t let me use the bathroom or come to me when needed. They withheld information from me about my baby and what was going on,, they repeated “her happy levels are low” when I asked to explain they came back with “ you wouldn’t understand, we went to years of school” and refused to tell us what was going on. I had a had almost 10hour labor with about 8hours of that in “triage” the whole time they were trying to get me out and blamed me for my discomfort... I had wet my bed not being able to find anyone to disconnect me from the iv and going through horrible contractions I had been throwing up so much there was blood in my vomit ... they rolled their eyes and let me sit in my mess and would not change my bedding. Around 2 am my water broke and my husband went to find a nurse , there were about 10 in the front desk texting on their phones and relaxing . No one rushed in.. as I told them “ I think my water broke “ again the nurse rolled her eyes and said “ you probably just peed again” .. she went and got a test strip and lifted the blanket and knew it was the real thing.... suddenly the “happy levels” took a turn for the worst and 5 nurses rushed in put me on oxygen and all fours . Soon after I stablized the head doctor came back after telling me I was a good 2weeks out sarcastically says “I guess you got your ticket to stay the night” and I was left to wait again as they needed to find me a room .. about an hour later I was finally carted to a room in what seemed to be a pretty empty hospital from there on out I have no complaints... but the triage was the worst nightmare those women made me feel like scum . Thank god my water broke when it did. At the time we lived about an hour drive from the hospital and if they would have sent me home I wouldn’t have had time to make it before my daughter arrived .... I would never want anyone to have to go through this . At the time as a first time mom I assumed it was normal . The more people I talk to have told me it is not and cannot believe that would happen.... I hope they can get it together and fix this , it’s suppose to be a beautiful thing to bring a child into the world .. they made it awful :/
