I respect Dr. Yam greatly, but his front desk receptionists are awful. I have seen Dr. Yam for over 20 years and I missed one appointment this month of August and the receptionist told me my OWN doctor would not see me anymore, at all, if I missed another. I have NEVER ever had a receptionist dictate if my doctor will refuse service to me. The front desk staff is unprofessional in a medical office environment in person and on the phone. I would not recommend coming to this office if you have little patience for lack of medical customer service skills. They are very, very rude and do not treat patients with the care they deserve when coming to get necessary HEALTHCARE.

They have absolutely no respect for patients time. Patients wait for anything between 20 minutes to 45 minutes which is really depressing. Doctors are bordering on average .

CleanFriendlyEfficientMt friend recommend me to see Dr. Yam when i moved to Newcastle area. My two little girls love Dr. Yam. The whole team meet beyond my expectation!! I would recommend Dr. Yam to all my friends.

This review is not specific to the doctor concerned, instead its about the overall ethics of the IMC in general.Extremely rude front desk staff. Front desk should bot be concerned about accounts payable, instead they should focus on making appointments and ensuring that patients are dealt diligently and politely. Due to (somewhat confusing), Premera system, an older bill was left unpaid - when my wife called in to get an appointment with Dr. Mitra, front desk lady asked her to clear the bill first and bluntly refused to make an appointment! Ive had past issues with unpaid bills with Allegro pediatrics but they never refused an appointment citing this as a reason. My wife called me and I immediately went online and paid the bills. She called again and was met with same rude response and questions such as When did you pay? Where did you pay? We havent received the payment yet.. She was put on a hold twice for long periods and ultimately she was too annoyed to continue and disconnected. Very disappointed with such unprofessional behavior from a renowned medical fraternity. Well definitely look elsewhere for our medical needs.

Not a good experience with doctors also.. They invest time but I have seen missing basic things. Started one new bp medicine for me and it reacted and I had lot of cough. They didnt diagnose for 3-4 months that it may be allergy to bp medicine and gave Cough medicine

Lab reports from this lab are not reliable. I went there for my annual health check up. My cholesterol report was totally misleading, hence i got it tested again at another lab and found lots of discrepancies. I wonder if doctors are prescribing Rx. on the basis of such reports, I would have ended with wrong treatment.

Came here for an annual checkup in May which should be completely covered by my Premera insurance. Instead, now I have a $200 bill on my hands....

Shockingly rude. The worst service Ive ever received from any primary care provider (Ive had to see my share of doctors over the last 40+ years). The woman who works the front desk should really not be in a job that is customer-facing in any way - she is the most impolite and curt person Ive come across in a while. Im surprised there are patients that continue to come here.

It was about one year ago, when my husband saw Dr Yam Garrett for his pillonydal cyst, which had some discharge. The doctor does not have enough knowledge about the disease, he did some cleaning procedure with local anesthesia,(he was not gentle while doing so) and told us that there was no cyst present. However, pillonydal cyst never gets corrected without a proper surgical removal of the cyst, which we did later on with the other surgeon to get rid of the problem. Dr Yam could never correct this problem,therefore not recommended for this.He misguides patients, with his poor knowledge.

Very bad, unfriendly staff. Do NOT have any respect for the patients and their time. Payment system is very bad and do NOT have any on-line payment option. For payment alone I had to waste 2+ hours in making multiple calls and waiting on the calls.
